Hi, i'm danielle. I do too much. I like hair, talking, cosplay, music, art and stuff lazy, lazy lazy. I'Ve been natural for like six years. At this point, i think maybe i don't know - i don't know what order i'm releasing the videos, but i'm tired for life reasons, and i it's just been reflected in my hair content and like how i treat my hair as you can see, she's put away baby. I remember when the natural hair movement like started and i got on youtube like there was like this thing of i'm a lazy natural. No, it's like it's not for me, like i'm lazy, and i do not like the word lazy, because i'm an overachiever, but i think i'm a lazy natural now, like i've, stopped doing so many things like so many things and then, like i, put effort into like Four things and everything's fine, so i'm like wait. Why am i going above and beyond again, for instance, i have stopped styling, my hair, all the time you are gon na see me in real life, and i'm gon na have one of four looks. Okay, i'm gon na have some kind of head wrap thingy on i'm gon na have a silk scarf with a cute little bow in the front, and we just call that we call that done. She'S away she's good she's, protected from the uv rays, she's protected from me, she's protected from the rain, the pollution, the being of the of the phone two passion twists. This is what you're gon na see me in. I have not had another protective style in like years now, they're easy. I can do them myself. The install takes like what an hour and a half and taking them down takes 20 minutes. They'Re, perfect they're long they're luxurious. They blend well with my hair. They suit me and they're very affordable. I switched accents like four times i like having long hair for a little piece, so i can um inspire myself to grow my hair out this long, even though my hair is this long. This is my hair you're, going to see me in a high, ballet pony or you're going to see me with it all down, because i'm asleep, that's it. I guess i'll put this one in the roster too yeah. It'S cute, okay done got another one. You'Re gon na catch me in a wash and go a lot of the time, i'm starting to get annoyed by wash and goes these days, though, cause like the wash and go itself like, isn't a huge hassle drying. It is kind of a hassle but like at night like having to put all those bands in my hair and then going to sleep and in the morning got ta. Take all the bands down. It'S literally just the bands, like even my lazy hairstyle, i'm kind of getting lazed out of it's too much ever and then very rarely because it's summer right now and i feel like i'm in a seafood - boil all the time. You'Re gon na catch me with a blow out. That'S it! Those are my styles passion twist hat wash and go or blow out. That'S all. I do now. No braid outs, no twist outs, no bantu knots! You, if you know you know type in star puppy, bantu knots, you'll find it you'll find both of it. I used to wash my hair once a week. Can you believe that? Who is that it wasn't me? I was not there yeah. I watch it like once. Every two three weeks, and even when i don't pre-poo anymore, remember pre-pooing, i just didn't see enough of a difference to justify continuing to like do a very arduous like step, zero. It just don't make no sense. Maybe i'll do my current watch day routine, because it's gon na be very interesting it'll, be like a speed run. What else don't i do also i used to detangle before i got in the shower. That doesn't make any sense to me anymore, like. Why would i detangle before i go in there? I have a lot of hairs but they're all fine. So, like i don't really get a lot out of detangling before i get in the shower, like my hairs are like under the under the water they're like sweet, like they get like stretched out a lot. So why wouldn't i do that if my hair was coarser like if each of the strands was thicker like larger in diameter and circumference like maybe, but as i am as i am, there's really no point i was thinking about doing like uh like i go on Tick tock and i find like the like the styles and then i try to do them with my hair, but then i got tired. I got tired thinking about it. I was like. Oh man, that's a lot of effort, especially because my hair is so like delicate and i've taken so much time growing it i'm just like. Is it worth it? Maybe i'll just start a tic tac, maybe i'll just do tick tocks from now on. This is the result of just like me putting my hair in these passion twists and just leaving it alone. Look at this not even fully stretched, still kind of spirally look wow. I honestly think that all of that growth like last time i straightened my hair, like i straightened it, it was like gently brushing my clavicles, i believe now it's like approaching godiva done. Maybe i will do that tick tock thing, but with my passion twists, instead, the th, the very thought, the very thought, the concept of getting my hair down washing it detangling it conditioning it deep conditioning it throwing some aloe on it and like blowing it out safely And very possibly straightening it just to try some little hairstyles that i can wear for like one day it irritates me. The thought of that irritates me and i've been in kind of like a mood for like the last couple of weeks. So maybe, when i'm feeling a little more peppy, maybe that'll be like a fun idea for me, but it just stresses me to think about. I think i'm just looking for more simplicity in my life, so the way i experiment with my hair these days is with additives. To my wash day routine, and i mean you know what it is: scalp oil i just been trying it. This is a new scalp oil. By the way, i'm currently filming a new video about scalp oil and the growth i'm experiencing look. You got a little bit of a taste right here, i'm right now. I think i said that backwards, but whenever you got it like that's how i get out on my little got ta mess with my hair energy, because it's still there, i just don't want to try to style it. I'M tired, remember star puppy versus shrinkage, wow. I sure did have a lot of patience. I think also now that my hair is much fuller, much longer much shinier and much healthier, and i'm just generally better at taking care of my hair. I just don't even care, i even care about shrinkage anymore. Unless i straighten my hair, then i care i care very much. I care a lot. Netflix watchers will get what parts of your routine have you ditched i've ditched like eighty percent. I do have an aloe leaf in my fridge, though, when i take my hair down more than likely, i think i might have to do a pre-poo with that and i'll see you guys next time. This has been me, danielle your resident weirdo, i upload on tuesdays and sometimes thursdays like and subscribe. stayfly3000: Thank goodness women are starting to see that natural hair is not that complicated. IT WAS MADE THAT WAY by those who stood to profit from pushing a 20-step maintenance routine ‍♀️

Mythic Apricity: Fully. Fully felt this. My hair has just been in chunky twists for all of the summer, and bandannas have been my friend. Hair has been growing just fine, and I haven’t had to struggle with it every morning. LOVE IT!

kayne: I think alot of us naturals are starting to realize that less is actually more, speacially with all the craziness that's going on. The last thing on alot of our minds is our hair. Well at least for me. It's just nice that I'm not the only one feeling like this. And lol the 4 styles got me cause that's exactly what I doo

Quick PS Tuts: I'm glad to see this part of the natural hair community evolving. It's almost like most 4B and 4C naturals go through this stage where you begin by being obsessed with changing, stretching and defining the hair. You begin to realize your hair doesn't do that naturally, so realize "it's too much work to be natural." But then you have to ask yourself, "Why is it really too much work?" Well, it's because you're fighting AGAINST what is natural for your hair. When you truly accept your hair in its non stretched state, it gets easier. What makes it hard is trying to make it look LESS kinky than it is. If you think about it, the obsession with looser curls is what helped the 3C communities and the likes thrive. Texture envy is real and only further emphasized how much so many just don't like their natural texture. I used to buy all these products every year. I can't tell you the last time I bought a styling product. I'm just using up all the stuff I've bought over the years. I spend so much less time and money on my hair. Rockin' my simple afro puff is so much more freeing than spending all this money and time on styles that never last. Bravo for the growth!

Ha Ha: Glad to see that we are slowly ending the '' 4c is high maintenance and takes SOO much effort '' narrative when I first entered this community I was kinda scared at the amount of care and patience required to take care of hair thank you for this video ♡

Moyin: This is why I’ve been a 3-step natural for over a year now. Just wash, condition and style, done I’m so happy at least some people are freeing themselves from the myth that 4C hair requires so much work. My hair’s even been in twists so it’s really just wash and that’s it. Our hair should not be a source of stress or insecurities for us

Calidee’s Life: There's definitely something in the air...The obsession with CONSTANTLY stretching our hair to within an inch of its life is being exposed as the waste of time/energy that it is. I'm here for it.

Anna Pierre: I wouldn't say lazy i'd go more for "Laid Back Natural." Or maybe "Contented Natural" cuz i feel like i know what works for me and its a small and simple routine. I'm not doin all the extra stuff (Pre-pooing, oil treatments, deep conditiining), and my hair gonna go into braids, faux locs at the end of the day because its just easy to manage and my personal preference when it comes to a style. But dont let "Laid back natural" fool you.. cuz the hair is definitely healthy, protected and growing. Thats all that really matters to me, coming from a person with thinner strands to the back of my head.

Mel Speaks MD: PSA: Your hair isn’t a trend and doesn’t need to be manipulated so often. Do what works for your hair (ie what makes you feel beautiful) and keep it moving ✌

Linda: We’ve really complicated 4c care haven’t we I totally feel ya. I looked at my photo from 2 years ago and my hair was rich thick hairline cause I just washed and put it away and cared for nothing as of looks. The second I tried out “styles “ I started resenting 4c hair care. We back at basics and I’m loving it

Laniiyah Scott: I've always been a low maintenance natural. Having a 4b/4c hair texture, I learned that it doesn't like being manipulated and touched anyways. And that's fine with me cuz I don't have the skill nor the care to do many different styles anyways. It's flourished and is now a few inches above my tailbone and is continuing to grow. Keep it simple yall. Your hair will thank you for it.

NAIKOchan17: Fingers crossed the next phase of natural hair is embracing shrinkage. I have really been enjoying my unaltered coils/tight waves, and because I have fine hair it makes my styles look much fuller. Some people really be doing too much and it's not necessary. I look back at how much time I used to spend doing my hair and I can't believe all that time was wasted. I do less now and get better results, AND I have more time to do other things. Simplicity is where it's at. Don't over complicate things people!

Pink Riot: Funny enough this precise reason of not wanting to do too much anymore is what led me to getting microlocs, along with wanting them for years lol. It’s been amazing. I legit do almost nothing to my hair and I’m good to go. Natural hair really isn’t difficult it’s just people have been trying to make their hair look like anything except what it naturally looks like. I’m happy to see this evolution within the natural hair community

Erin Grimes: I’ve been wrapping my hair for like 3 months now, I’m not wearing her out no more! I’m no doubt a lazy natural, for years. Get your break gurl! It’s all good

🐞Ladybug: I’m seeing a lot of naturals relaxing their hair again. I’m never going back to relaxers, I have ptsd from those scalp burns.

Alie Power: It's hair and we're women. WE CAN STOP AND START our hair options whenever we want. Everyone makes it appear as if 4C hair is like completely the most complicated thing in the world all of the time. It ain't. It just requires more time depending on what you want, but so do other types and textures of hair. It's not specific to just 4C textured people. Our journey is just different - that's all. Once you figure it out, then you NETFLIX AND CHILLAX. So, welcome. You have given us the gamut of styles, products and drama - and we LUUUUUV IT. Our ancestors had their hair on LOCK (and also locs ) and carried on looking fantabulous babes. FANTABULOUS. You're just at this point where you've tried it all - discovering what works for you and your OWN hair - it helps me and I can always revisit all of your hair tutorials!! YYYYAAAYYY!! It's no biggie. REST. Let us learn from all of your material. It's HAIR. IT LOVES YOU. IT'S HUGGING YOUR HEAD RIGHT NOW? CAN YOU FEEL THAT?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love it and let it grow towards heaven - if that's the style you want!!!

Jules: In recent years we've slowly started to realize that we choose to have a high maintenance hair routine, and often that keeps our hair from growing due to high manipulation and other things. Of course, taking care of our hair requires effort but looking back we were constantly touching our hair and wondering why it wasn't growing lol.

Brytnei Elle: not lazy natural.. we are selective efforts naturals…

Chelsea Johnson: I agree. I ditched the whole detangle before washing thing. I noticed It caused more breakage doing it on dry hair. Letting the water run through my hair along with a lot of conditioner made the detangle process more fast and effective!

Taneisha Reid: I totally understand! I literally went back to basics: wash, condition, style and that’s it for 1-2ish weeks. Lol

jasminjwhite: Love this! Similar to you, my washday is now a solid 35-45 minutes, shampoo, condition, oil rinse, seal with shea butter and put in jumbo twists. I put them in a cute bun with a big scrunchies and get compliments everywhere. So little effort and my hair stays happy and easy. I miss my Afro being out but I have no energy in life for special styling.

Tanisha Scott: Girl i FEEEEELLL YA! Ive been natural for 8 years now and im tiiiiired! I wash every 2-3 weeks use leave in and oil, and its always in a bun or a puff. Its finally at waist length and I dont do ish with it. I kinda feel ungrateful in a way ‍♀️ but the more i leave it alone the longer it gets.

Angie's Loc Life: I feel you - this is why I got locs. Best thing I did to my 4c hair - come over to the locs side.

C. Bellamy: I'm such a "lazy natural" that I cut it off, lol. I love my buzz. It's so low maintenance and it looks good with everything!

Brianna Arrington: I stopped pre pooing after Greenbeauty explained why, scientifically, it isn’t necessary. The time l o s t but not doing it now has saved SO much time. Simplicity is definitely the move.

T Marie: I’ve had my hair in braids for the past 3-4 months (leave it in for about a month and then let it rest for a month and so on) and she has been THRIVING. This is the move for me cuz I can’t be bothered to do much else. And I look really cute with the braids lol.

Salematu Morray: I feel you boo. I get tired just thinking about what to do with my hair.

fibromiteready2fight: I have chronic illnesses and a head condition that makes me extremely tender headed. Like, even a puff of mini twists is too much tension. I’ve been trying to find a way to look cute without having to devote energy to it. And you shouldn’t do hair when mad, but the world has been making me mad sooo…

Simmone Davis: 1:30 "She's away, she's good. She's protected from the UV rays, she's protected from the rain, pollution. The thing of the phone..." GIRL! Say! That! Thank you so much for mentioning all of that because a lot of us don't think about protecting our hair from all of that environmental damage. Especially the "thing" of the phone.

Reign's Table: Half way through sis I already knew something shifted for you...you are tapping into another part of yourself that may feel insane rn but will be your best blessing in no time....you already helped me alot with my natural hair journey but you just took us ALL to church sis. Even beyond hair, alot of us have been minimizing everything to simply heal and not stay in a constant rat race with content or the world. After a while it can be draining and l had to fall and literally hit my hard head to SIT DOWN! Much love, healing and appreciation to you!

Rachel Chanel: Honestly, the most challenging part of my hair journey has been figuring out what the hell works for me! Once I finally figured that out, it hasn’t been too bad. The other challenge was having a job where your hair has to be somewhat styled (I was a flight attendant). Now that I’m not doing that, turbans and scarves are having their heyday in my world. Always loved them, and now I get to wear them all the time. Also, keeping my scalp happy has been a challenge. My scalp is super temperamental, and I recently realized that she doesn’t like anything touching her. Aloe works really well on my scalp, but when I can’t be bothered, I spray water on it, and massage to clear it. That seems to be helping so far to combat itching and irritation.

Quasar: I'm in the same boat! At the beginning of my hair journey, I tried to do as much to feel like I was doing something for my natural hair, but honestly, it caused a lot of ups and downs. Going down the simpler route is a better routine. It's amazing to see you going simpler with your style while keeping amazing content rolling out! I recently learned to (struggle) flat twist. I've been wearing them for one or two weeks, taking them down, washing them, and putting them back into two flat twists again. This is mainly due to taking breaks from mini twists, which was my go to-I'm planning to put them into mini twists again soon! I'm just glad I learned another technique to do simpler hairstyles.

Mona Jackson: I felt this to the core! I used to be a lazy natural as well. I have 4c hair and when I tell you micro locs was the best decision I have ever made for my hair. I’m one year in and I wish I would have done it sooner.

fynechyld: Girl I'm with you. I watch hair tutorials to support a sister and for entertainment, I am not about to spend hours in the bathroom messing about with my hair, she doesn't deserve any attention, because she does very well when she is moisturised and left the hell alone. I turned lazy natural about 1 year after I did my big chop. I just couldn't be asked! lol

lynsie.bear: I feel you. I go through seasons with my hair too. Right now I’m into styling my natural hair after doing wigs for like a whole year. I’m sure when the winter comes I’ll go back lol Btw your skin is SKINNING! You better glow sis ✨

Beauty1111: My friend word knotless braids for 2 years straight. Got them done 4 times each year. Her hair is to her butt now. ‍♀️ Your skin is glowing ❤️

Epic Realist TV: Girl, you're not the only one feeling this way. Sometimes, hair becomes last on your list of things to accomplish, and you only do the bare minimum. I've been natural 12 years now and I am NOW starting to be a "lazy natural". I used to do so many things religiously, but when my life got busier with my kids, I slowly began to stop doing the extra things. My hair still grows and flourishes, but I'm not as obsessive over it as I once was. I even wash almost every 2 weeks now instead of every week. Blasphemy! That was NEVER me at all, but I realized that my hair can handle it if i use water and oil on my scalp every once in a while. I have survived still!

vicky fox: I stopped banding my WnGs. Just slathered my hair in gel and made sure the hold would restrain her from coiling up on herself and create SSKs. As long as she's stretched with product and dried in a stretched-ish state, she's not complaining. Especially when I keep up on my trims. Wake up, fluffy, conquer the world

Kryssi Hollie: Would definitely consider getting locs! For me it was the happy medium between enjoying my natural hair and not letting it consume my life. I got 220ish locs two years ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made, I spend so much less time on my hair than I did when I was fully natural. More time for me to spend on the other things in my life that I love and care about!

Fieldsofyasmine: I've been tired for 10 years, but now that I found 'black girl curls' i can finally relax. it's 3 products, wash and go's and it's perfect for me. No bands at night, nothing.

StellaBaebums: I feel youuuuu! I big chopped last year. Been living the wash and go life. I specifically sought out products and techniques that allowed me to do that bc I did not and will not have the patience to do anything besides that on a regular basis. If it got beyond that, I’d shave my head idgaf bc I straight up don’t want it to take that much of my time. If a whole wash DAY is a thing people enjoy doing, more power to them. Definitely not my jam thooo

Vennette Gloud: I’m feeling this so much. For me it comes in waves. I just feel like…wash, deep condition, leave in, gel, one big Afro puff all summer so far. Throw on some oil every other day, scalp oil/massage alternate days of that, wash when I feel like it according to how much I’ve sweated in scalp…hair is exhausting…my twist outs are ugly, who needs them? When it cools down, flat iron/wrap at night is the least maintenance…it’s growing either way.

Sam Kalei Creighton: I love this. As I’m getting actually into my 20s, simplifying my life and what I have to think about has been what’s keeping me sane. We did the experimenting, I feel like now it’s knowing what I actually enjoy doing with my skin/hair/fashion whatever, or what actually makes a difference and that I’m down for. Also uses less stuff/creates less waste for me which I’m down for cuz I used to go through soooo much hair and makeup stuff

Lwandile Ncube: I completely understand what you’re going through. I have been natural for the 5 years now. In the first 2 years of my journey, I use to do so much to my hair and it resulted in my hair getting damaged. And it doesn’t help that sometimes you feel “length guilt”. Now for the last year and half or so I have been a proud lazy natural. Just keeping my overall hair regime simple, doing what works for me and doing protective styles. When I tell you... my hair has been flourishing so much it’s crazy. It’s so cool to see people shifting from that narrative of doing a lot to their hair and doing what are comfortable with. Get you rest girl... you deserve it ✨

Jermaine Au Natural: Yay for simplicity!! Our hair is easy shampoo, condition(deep)/detangle, style and dry. Plus this heat…it’s too hot to be doing the most the passion twists look really good. Now you have to do a “My updated routine” video

Who's A Pretty Kitty?: Mygod, I relate to this so much. It’s like, we want to achieve those hair goals of having long, thick and luxurious hair, but… it’s just tiring. I’m like you, I just wear a couple of styles cause that’s all I feel like doing and a part of me hates it bc I want to explore my hair. It’s so tiring to maintain kinky/curly hair, and EXPENSIVE if your hair needs those extra ingredients to help them grow properly. It takes a black girl hours to do her hair. Type 4 hair? No way can we just wash it without spending an hour prepping it for the style we want to keep it in for the week/ month. Oh the life of lazy naturals.

Taj Simms: I think everyone reach that part in their natural hair journey where they realize they need to just stop and listen to what your hair needs, not what people are telling you it needs. I love your hair journey, fluff nugget is so healthy and long

Aly: Wash and gos have been my saving grace this summer now that I’m 100% natural. My hair enjoys the water haha Last year when I tried it my hair turned into a knot because I was still transitioning and hadn’t cut off the relaxed ends. Plus, my curls were MIA due to the relaxers. I had to fake it til I made it with braid outs.

huniluv26: hey! I felt this !!!! I've been natural since 2011 with 2 big chops. Honestly being natural was fun up until the wash day actually took a day! Wash and go was more like a wash and spend hours applying products and sitting under the dryer for 2 + hrs. THEEEEENNN I paid $300 for a stylist to "show me how to do a proper wng" only for it not to look the same when I did it at home. And to add insult to injury... I became such a product junkie I had to get a freaking bookshelf for them... then the hair rules pretty much saying don't touch your hair!!!!!!! So long story lonnnggg I got sisterlocks 3 weeks ago and bruhhh I'm so freaking free! I am happy now!

Marissa Stewart: Girl, you are speaking our collective truth. I needed to hear that I wasn't alone in this feeling.

Michele_Live And In Color: Right there with ya, girl. During the height of Covid, I was all up in it with the natural hair maintenance routine thing; was driving my own self nuts...now, TIRED!! Everything you said...SAME. I do what I NEED to do, and that's it.

Daddy2UWhore: Just stop trying so hard and your hard will grow! Constantly stressing over it will not help at all. You just simply need to stop worrying about it soo much and I promise your hair will grow

Ketsia Amazan: I also find myself doing the bare minimum necessary to keep my hair healthy. I mostly just wash them then put them in twists or cornrows until next time . Butttttttttttt, my hair has never been this long and luscious.

Diara Lenay: I've been on the same frequency when it comes to my hair. the less I do to it, the better I feel, the more it thrives.

Beige Bunnie: I’ve been natural since 2005…I remember having the ALLLLLL DAAAAY wash day and the mid week cowashes and the intricate twists and braids and all that jazz that I would do (and hated how it looked) and eventually I was like “NO” I couldn’t do it anymore. Now? I wash every 2-3 weeks. I wear my hair in a protective style (wig/faux locs) or a bun. I blow dry every wash day. And I use blue magic grease. And you know what? My hair is the longest it’s ever been in the 3000 years I’ve had natural hair. Keeping it simple has really been best for me.

Brooklyn Taylor: When I went natural in high school, all I did was wear twists and my hair grew so long and fast. I’ve recently cut all of my hair off because of the damage I did to it in college but now it doesn’t grow fast at all. It’s as if it doesn’t want to grow anymore…

fantasia243645: I see you star puppy! ⭐ Congratulations on the hair growth. I appreciate that you are doing what works for you.

Skele Puns: I love just popping my 3c/4a hair into pigtails and forgetting about them. So easy, so cute

zinja0830 (Sierra M.): I totally relate. My main styles are 4 two-strand twists into a twist out, smaller twists into a twist out, and occasionally straightening. I’ll move between center and side part for variety. Dassit.

FunSizedOreoGirl: I relate so much, this weekend was supposed to be my weekly wash and treatment I do....I definitely did not do it and I plan to actually cut partial of her this weekend because honestly it's so so hot and tiresome to take care of Puff fluff (my afros nickname) I love her so much but she's just so much to fight, detailed, and waveform

cherelle jackson: I've always been low maintenance and actually love to do my hair but I recently went even more low maintenance and got Microlocs and literally best thing ever Ever EVER!

nico please: Been a lazy natural since before natural was popular. During this movement I've realized that a lot of people are confused. Your hair is always growing. Keep it moisturizer and leave it alone. Ive always had long healthy hair n it's cause I do not do a million things to it. Just let it be!

Boemo Mapetla: 'Pre-poo = arduous step zero' Couldn't have said it better!!!

Gift Amethyst: I've always been a lazy natural but now I've reduced my routine even more to using just one product in my hair and it's been a dream.

Jazmine Williams: This entire summer I've kept my hair in braids. Once I learn passion twist it's over lol. My hair defintely likes not being manipulated as much. As long as i wash, condition, grease/oil, and let my hair breath when needed she flourishes. Kinda felt like I was doing it wrong at first after all the years of over manipulation.

alexpresso: I really do love the honestly. I’ve only been natural for a little over 2 years and still learning what my 4C hair likes and dislikes. I very quickly fell in like with wash n go’s, mini braids, and blow outs. I’ve already ditched normal conditioner and I feel Im about to ditch deep conditioner once I use the rest of what I have. Just leave in, that shea moisture curl soufflé, grease, and oil for me!

Some Anon: Girl, I do two cornrows. That's it. That's been my style for the past few months. Also I wash my hair about at the same frequency that you mentioned. LOL

Yve Win: This was me all my life. Special treatment gets done on “spa day” with other non-everyday care. IF I feel like doing it then. Enjoy the time gained.

Indiana Giordani: That’s the thing about “4C” (nappy) hair… it’s in a category all of it’s own; we can’t even do what the 4-patterned girls can do. I went natural the end of 2007 and after 2010 I’ve kept my hands out of it to an extent. I’ve cut it plenty of times, but it it wasn’t a pineapple or some twists/braids, it was my ‘fro. Sometimes I would twist my own hair without the extensions but that’s it. It stays moisturized, soft, and I actually don’t have to detangle too often or much at all.

Courtney Nel: Omg absolutely. I used to do *the most* but now a days I’m definitely a blow out/protective style natural. I’ll try a twist out or set style maybe once a month, maybe. But usually my hair is in cornrows under a wig, or in medium-jumbo knotless braids. And its thriving! I think alot of us kinky haired babes struggled with length retention so much bc of how much stress and manipulation we were putting our hair through during styling processes. Twist or braid it up one day, take it down fluff and pick it out the next day, some retwist or rebraid at night, or band their hair, then fluff and pick it out again the next day, rinse and repeat. Its so much handling so often for a hair texture that would rather *just be*

Rasha Sharif: Congrats on 6th years natural ! You are always natural beauty. I love your introduction.

Tris: Honestly, I have ALWAYS been a lazy natural. I'm always been equally shocked and impressed by the amount of time, product, and effort people are willing to put into their hair care, because I don't have that kind of patience. I don't even have a hair care schedule these days, let alone a routine. Sadly, my experience is the same as yours: this "neglect" has my hair growing like a weed.

Rhané Thomas: Thank you so much! Sitting here in a pony tail quite happily. No routine, no stress. So glad for you and proud of you progress.

Mr. G.: You may want to consider microlocs or sisterlocks. Your hair will remain elongated and easy to maintain.

Apara: I don't blame her. I've never been a big styler with my hair, even when I was relaxed (I just wore it in side bangs and out for 18 years ). Our hair doesn't have to be a choir. I've only been natural for a year and 10M and I never really style it still. Lol. I do wash n go's (90% of the time), twist outs, and puffs (now that my hair is longer will slowly creep to be my main style because im lazy). That's all ‍♀️. As for wash day, I did the most the first 2M then stopped. I keep it simple now... Wash, condition, stylers. I do a protein treatment when my hair starts feeling moisture overload. I don't deep condition because I found 2 very good pentrating rinse out conditioners and good leave in conditioner./stylers.

Fine Natural Hair ROCKS: Hey love! I completely get feeling frustrated and overwhelmed with the natural hair journey. It really is tiring to have to consider breakage at every single point of our journey's. P.S. your passion twists are GORGEOUS! I want to do something like passion twists next; yours are absolutely STUNNING! Major KUDOS for doing them yourself too!!! ALSO, your hair is looking super nice and healthy too! You GO GIRLIE!

Simply Into My NAILS: One word..... LOCS! I used to blog about my hair back in the day, then chopped off my hair and now am about 8 months into my loc journey. Wish I'd done it years ago. Finally, my shedding is benefitting me cos my locs thickened up quickly and are maturing real fast. Can still wear a wig if I want and of course a head wrap. Wash day is now easy. Retwists are a pain but I only do that once every two months. Best decision I ever made. No more detangling thank goodness

K P.: This is why I put my hair in mini braids and leave it alone ✨ once the minis braids look bad? Put a head scarf on. Cute and simple. Like a good 6 weeks of not having to do anything cause my hair gets hydrated every day I shower and maybe some grease on my scalp every other week.

lalaliacat: Yes babe, the last couple of months my hair routine has gotten even more basic than it already was. I don't even have four hair styles, just one twists. I do passion, spring, mini, jumbo, you name it but anything more than that and I simply cannot be bothered!

CanisLupus1987: You look stunning and what matters is that you feel happy with your own body

Elfy_64: Your journey is yours and the vibe is immaculate ✨ do what is right for you and your hair and your life!!!

doggi120: I feel you. I loc'd my hair 2 years ago. Best decision ever, so much growth in my hair, and it's the healthiest it's been! Cheap to upkeep because I started and retwist them myself and not a bunch of unnecessary products to buy. Just some castor oil and water really.

Mama Tea: So I’ve been natural for literally decades and I FINALLY feel like I’m ok with not doing the most for a style. Shrunken afro, satin lined head wrap, or a headband wig and I’m done. My recent discovery were 2 dirt cheap products: the s curl spray in the white bottle for easy, effortless moisturizer and Aussie moist for dc. I don’t even have to struggle to comb out my thick, coarse, lo po kinky hair, I just slather clean hair with the 3 min miracle, throw on a plastic cap and then my microwaveable dc cap for maybe 5/10 min max! It allows me to comb out without pain and I don’t have to rinse out the conditioner. Braid it down (maybe) and I’m good for a couple weeks. If I want locs or braids I just throw on one of my many headband wigs for a look without the arm cramps, effort or expense

Chaotic Whoopsie: I can relate! i went natural last year and didn't know what to do so I looked up hair care routines and everything was complicated! I gave up and now I've decided to start locs to keep up with my busy lifestyle.

On The Loc Journey: Here to say you could loc it… The best decision I’ve made as a former lazy natural because I even got too “lazy” to keep getting protective styles reinstalled

Debbie igby: I've just recently dyed my hair and that gave me the courage to wear my 4c in an afro. I wake up untie my wrap spray some water and pull here and there gently just to fluff it a little bit and I just go

Kandaisy Chaney: I understand. I’m starting my loc journey. I’ve been natural for 7 years and I’m so tired

shannon4811: chile ! i’ve been natural for 12 years and you def go through the journey of being excited and compliments from people keep you going ..and then other things in life take priority ✨ We appreciate this vid! The natural hair journey is not for the weak hearted

sigreddasparks16: Definitely feel this. Have been keeping my hair styling to a minimum except for when I wanna do knotless braids, a sew in, or flat twists. That's pretty much all I do to it and when I wear it in its natural state it put a lil part in it and Bobby pin the 2 sides and that's my style lol

Ashley Murphy: Girl yesssss! I’m a lazy natural right now! I’ve been battling this chronic fatigue and it finally caught up to me in the form of IDC syndrome (I Don’t Care ‍♀️). My hair has been straightened now for over a month, and although I’m missing my curls, I’m not going back anytime soon lol. I’m enjoying the high ponytails and updos and everything else that I can do with straightened hair ☺️

Cece _: My hair has been in its mini afro state all summer after I wet it once so I relate to bein lazy for sure

Chris M: I am all for eliminating the "nice but not necessary" steps in the haircare routine. Pre-pooing is one of those except for specific cases. If it feels like self care to add it in, great. If all the effort and time is making you resent your hair, trim the fat from your routine. There is no lazy, they're is always a better explanation for not having the time/energy/patience/etc.

Dee Reed: I love this video so much, and I completely agree with you. When I go through my usual routine with my hair I'm constantly asking myself, "Is this necessary?" If the answer is no or maybe, I cut it. I don't consider it to be lazy. I just don't want to waste too much energy on my hair because my life is too hectic to waste time. I strongly disagree with going through an arduous process in order to achieve a style that will only last a day or two. That's insane. I rarely style my hair, but when I do it's a no/low tension style or something that will hold for a minimum of 4 weeks with no extra weight. I don't do wash and go styles or blow outs at all, as I consider that "too much work". My hair is thick and long, so I have to pick my battles carefully.

Jessica Figures: I feel you! I got to that point and decided to get sisterlocks. Girl! You wanna talk about low maintenance! Bonnet at night, Wake up shake, spray with water and go. I’m finally free

Moira Edwin-Jones: I think we’re all at this point with you I wash my hair I think once a month now And I swear...my hair has been unbelievably full that I’m shocked

Watt DeFuque: I'm pretty low maintenance tbh! I have to wash my hair once a week because I exercise and I'm a sweaty betty, but other than that, I don't do a whole lot. Shampoo, deep condition + detangle, add the usual products and twist or braid it up. Keep the twists/braids in for a few days, then do a twist/braid out, or a low bun, or space buns for the rest of the week. Moisturize during the week as necessary.

Latisha Buckner: I've been wearing spring twists for about a year now. Easy to put in and take down, hair is cheap, and best of all they allow me to get up and go.

Shehan B: I get you. I style my hair on Monday morning, and thats the style for the entire week. Until sunday wash day. Dont do much to it. Less manipulation and its growing, never done prepoo, deep condition when I have the time (1 in two months), hair feels healthy, and its growing.

Dawn RoseWood: Girl… just start your loc journey. Wake up, sprits your hair, and done. After 4 years of being natural I was done with putting work into my hair for it to just be in a high puff 24/7. Plus endless length. No worrying about my ends breaking off.

Marie Arc-en-ce Jésus: Been natural on and off for about 8 years now, I started as a DIY addict but now lol no more wasted time. My routine currently, although most dont agree because i deep condition before wash (i hate going back in the shower just to rinse that off tbh) - apply deep condition in 14 chunky twists ( lightly finger detangling when applying), using deep conditioner+ some oil: 10 mins - let it sit while doing skincare, shaving, face mask: 20mins - shampoo in twists and rinse: 3 minutes - slap a little more deep conditioner to sit in while i shower and exfoliate: 15 mins - rinse everything (hair and body): 3 mins - a cream+ a butter on each twist+ detangle (at this point it's sooo easy): 20 mins - Done. Total: 1 hour to 1hour 10 minsfor both hair care and body care. And I just do the hair part every 2 weeks. Styling: Afri twistout from undoing the chunky twists, Afro puff, or a curly coily wig with no glue. I can do a real twist out here and there too.
