Two Weeks In My Wash And Go Routine | 4C Hair Maintenance

I love you like this baby. Take a time. Hey loves! Welcome to another week in my hair vlog, you didn't ask for it, but i'm giving it to you. Okay, i started with my hair in this wash and go and i'll give you a little bit of a recap, but i do have full out videos. I was suffering with a flare-up on my scalp seborrheic dermatitis. I'Ve talked about it, a million and one times on this channel, and i had washed my hair in african rubber thread and i didn't have enough time to do my hair. I didn't want to do much to my hair because the birthday festivities were happening and i ended up getting my scalp and hair wet in a saltwater flu. It'S called float therapy, and so my scalp was completely white. I got a chance to wash the ends of my hair at the spa, but then i had to continue the rest of the weekend for my birthday, without washing my hair and whatnot, because we were in an airbnb away from home and i didn't have everything i Needed gold blouse, my birthday, i wanted to celebrate and not do my hair. So then it was definitely time to clarify my hair. It had been so many months i had so much product build up on. It was dry. My scalp was a mess i went ahead took care of that i have a full video out and then i used some aunt jackie's flaxseed gel a taraji pea, hints and leave-in conditioner and the hair rules mousse. In order to achieve this wash and go, i will link those videos down below so that you can get the full effect of how i got here. My hair right now is nearly completely dry. I did the banding method last night so that i could give you guys this hair, and so i'm going to be going throughout the week with this wash and go and just updating you all on what happens. Also, if i can't last a full seven days with my hair, because it's already feeling dry, i'm gon na be working with it throughout the week as it transforms so that you guys can see what i do with my hair. If you're into that, you know come along on the journey all right good morning. It is 94 degrees outside it's perfect, wash and go weather. However, my hair is already feeling kind of dry. I pineappled it last night. I should have banded it. I also should have showered with my shower cap off so that i could get some mistings or something because my hair, i mean it's not terribly dry, it's not as it's not as bad as i thought it was going to be, but it's still feeling kind of Dry - and this is only day two, so i know it's gon na get worse as the time goes on. Okay, the lighting is not too great right now, but this is what my hair is looking like at the moment, and i don't know i feel like it looks dry. My nails need to be done. They'Re snagging, my hair. This is not a good situation. I need water i'm taking this. Mr good thing is: is that it's a wash and go so it reverting is not going to be that big a deal, and tonight i can always wet it again and then band it. You know this kind of weather, lord. I don't know: can i help it? I'M kind of trying to reactivate that product a little bit and the water is helping so much love that i'm also going to do this carol's otter, it's like a spray, leave-in conditioner. This is the only time i like using a spray leave-in conditioner because other than like day, two hair, refreshing hair. Oh it smells so good. It smells like vanilla and i'm gon na be in trouble later, because i know the mosquitoes are gon na eat me up. I purposely didn't wear perfume today because the bug situation - i don't like bugs like that. Okay, i feel like you guys, are about to get seven days of me just chatting about whatever i'm also gon na add a little oil just a little bit for some malleability. Maybe like lock things in a little bit, this is the carol's daughter, hair oil. This is, from their goddess strength, collection, majority of this oil. I used on my body because i rarely put oil on my hair these days, rubbing it in my hands and i'm just gon na kind of fluff, my hair, while it's on there i mean i feel like this is shaping up. It'S shaping up, i kind of don't want to use the pig i feel like the pick sometimes leads to breakage, even if it's just a little bit. Sometimes i just try to avoid using it a little bit on the edges. I feel like the leave-in, the water, the oil is giving. I don't know if it's gon na work. I really won't know if it'll bring some moisture back to the hair until tomorrow, but i think it's lightweight enough that if i need to do this daily it'll be fine a little more at the top. I feel like i no longer have a wash and go. It feels like an afro at this point, because the definition is no longer there so far. The verdict is that this gel and the technique that i did looks good day. One day two just looks like an afro. I mean it's, not bad, but it doesn't seem worth the effort that i put into it. You know, let me show you the back. Okay, i'm probably going to put some earrings on. Maybe a necklace try to fight with this top a little bit so that my bra's not showing but yeah. That'S my hair today this is day two and i will see you on day. Three welcome to my bathroom, i'm taking my makeup off and i just kind of wanted to show you all this little do hickey. I have. I used this to hold my hair back and i just wanted to point it out because it's so important that you're not getting shampoo and whatnot on your hairline. So many of us have hairline issues. You know whether it's thinning breaking off, etc, etc, and you don't want the culprit to be something as simple as your face wash and your face. Moisturizer keeps getting on your hairline. I have a very sensitive hairline, that's where my seborrheic dermatitis tends to flare up, and so i have to be really careful about what happens to my hairline and for many years i didn't worry about holding my hair back and i used to have shampoo and stuff That would get on my hairline and later on, i'd be wondering like why i had so much product build up and come to find out. It wasn't my hair products at all. It was my face products, so i just wanted to take a second and point that out, i think i'm just gon na go to bed with my bonnet on and let it do what it do and then tomorrow i'll assess what i want to do with my Hair and look at its moisture levels good evening, beautiful people today is day four i've gotten four days before it turned into an afro. So i have made the executive decision to wash my hair, but i'm not going to use shampoo. It'S going to be a co-wash and i got an oldie but a goodie, a very inexpensive conditioner. This is a garnier fructis, one that i got i i was doing a video on how to do a wash routine for a very affordable price. I think it was like under 20 for everything - and i discovered this one and it's like three bucks and it actually works pretty good and silicone free. I will link this down below and then i kind of am really low on the uncle funky's curly magic gel that i normally use because i'm out of that well, i've got a little bit left of the on jackies that i use to achieve this style. But i'm not loving the results. However, i want to try something new, since i am low on the uncle funkies and there's not enough to do this style, so i'm gon na use the maui, moisture, hair, styling, frizz, free and shave butter, elongating gel. This will be my first time using anything from maui moisture if i don't like it, we're taking it back and getting the uncle funkies or i'm gon na have to order online because they didn't have uncle monkeys. I don't know what's going on here. Okay with that being said, let's get started. I'Ve decided that, for the sake of this particular video, i am gon na skip directly to the styling portion, and i think i may make a separate video of this entire process so that you guys can get more details, because when we do a week in my Hair, i'm kind of giving you an overview and i feel like i want to go a little bit more in detail with a voiceover and a tutorial and everything. So you guys are going to have a look-see of the styling process. But i'm going to make a separate video, so we can go all the way in depth. So more people can see this video shout out to you who like to watch the vlogs and by the way, i'm on tick, tock, random thing to say in the shower. But i am i'm trying to reach a thousand followers. I'M pretty new, but you guys are getting like fashion hair care life in like bite, size form, and then i also give like a lot of like off-the-cuff tips about hair care and like little mini styling hauls. So i'm just saying: okay, okay, when you see me, i'm gon na be styling my hair. I want to point out something that's a little annoying about my hair, so you guys see the parts where there looks like there's absolutely no product on it. That'S the part that i'm constantly putting more and more product on, because it just it like evaporates very quickly. It looks like there's nothing there. It'S this front area and my roots for some reason it does that it's so annoying and i do think that it kind of affects my style. But i at this point i don't know what to do, because it's been two years of wash and goes and no matter how much product i put on these areas. It doesn't like stick. You know what i mean. However, this is the part. That'S like a looser. I don't know if it's a looser texture or if it just doesn't have as much shrinkage. This is, i think it's a different texture of my hair like right here and then also like right behind my ears. So maybe that's what it is. It just reacts very differently to products than like the majority of my hair, i'm not sure, but i'm about to sit under this dryer for, however long it takes i'll, let you guys know how long okay i've been under here for 54 minutes. Really it's just like the top of my hair, my roots that are dry. You can see that the ends are they're pretty wet still. So what i'm gon na do is kind of shake my hair throughout the night, just to kind of like get. Some of you know you can kind of feel the water coming off of the ends of the hair, just to help it i'm going to put a bonnet on i'm going to go to bed and then tomorrow i'm going to let it finish, probably air drying. But it's time for me to get from out of here, like i'm hot, i'm, i'm getting irritable, i'm gon na go eat and go to bed i'll see you tomorrow! Well well! Well, what do we have here? Zoe? We have definition. We have a little bit more length. We have a little bit more shine. Okay, listen y'all, zoe's, looking good! Now it is still a little bit damp in the back. Let me show you but she's, giving with the side part i did kind of take my hair and put it over to the side, because i just feel like i look a little bit better with a side part. To be perfectly honest with you. However, whatever floats your boat, listen is always giving. I am kind of feeling like i might no. I was gon na say. Maybe i need a trim ciao. I probably do need a trim, but like i meant a cut like if wash and goes were my thing. I think i would be a lot more open to one of those like stacked cuts because they look so good, but i i wear my hair stretched and i'm trying to reach nipple length and as good as that might look. I need to reach my goal before. I'M doing too much okay, um, but no, i am enjoying it. So this is basically day one of this hairstyle, i'm gon na just let the rest of it air dry, because i am not trying to sit under no dryer anytime and i will check in tomorrow or the next day to just let you guys know the progress That has okay zoe, let you guys know the progress that has happened. One of the cool things about having this hair tie is that you can still mold it and kind of encourage it to shrink in certain areas. If i want a little bit more of a stacked, look, it's not a haircut. It'S not like you know getting the results of a haircut, not that y'all are pressuring me, but i know somebody in the back somebody's in the back gon na be like. Why don't you get into cutting kinky cuz? I don't want to right now cause i don't want to anyway i'll see you guys uh tomorrow, bye good evening. It is the next day at night, and i kid you not my roots in the back are still wet. I don't know, i don't know, i'm just gon na, let it finish air drying, because it's not wet to the point where i feel like my scalp is in trouble or anything like that, but it is still a bit damp, which is surprising honestly. I am gon na, do my nightly skincare routine and then and then go to bed, because it's nearly midnight uh bye, oh good morning, i am going to do my hair next, but i am of course going to have to do my makeup. I have a lot of work to do today and i want to make sure that i'm set up for the day, so we have gotten up early and showered and everything. So when i was in the shower, i let the steam do what i do. No shower cap, i took my wet hands. I fluffed a little bit, but i really just wanted that steam to hit all of the curls, and it's definitely the last day that i'm gon na have my hair in this wash and go. It is definitely time. It'S two days later, since the last time i filmed so, i want to say that this is day. Is this day, four or day five of this wash and go? I don't know but she's feeling zoey's feeling a bit dry, she's feeling a bit dry and i can't blame her. You know it's dry and dusty out here. It has been in the 90s all week and the sun has been evaporating my hair. So that being said, i'm gon na do my makeup and then i'm gon na tell you guys what i'm gon na do for my hair today, i'm gon na get dressed. It would be nice if i could do some window shopping today of some sort, because i heard that there was this tj maxx that wasn't too far that actually sells real luxury things, and i'm like what. So if i can check that out, i will definitely bring you guys with me whether that's today or tomorrow, we're gon na go to this tj maxx and just see what the fuss is about. But in the meantime let me do my makeup. We have finished the face. No, we haven't blush. I think i'm going to keep my blush pretty simple. This isn't nyc cheek to cheek lip blush. It'S a duo called sensational low key. I don't even know if you can get this anymore, but i'm going to add this on. It'S just like a light. It'S kind of like a bronzy color, so not like a blush blush color. That'S my son he's hanging out i'm doing this because i'm going to be actually switching off my outfits today and i want something that's kind of neutral. I'M going to have to blend this a lot better, i'm going to hold off on the lip, because i need to know what i'm wearing today, i'm going to be looking cute today, i don't know. I can't go too many days. Looking anyway fragrance for today is jennifer aniston actually, and this honestly just smells like baby powder. I want something fresh. I tend to go for like deeper spicier scents, but i don't know. I just want something that feels kind of light, airy, easy yeah. She smells like she's, like definitely a floral, and it kind of has that, like fresh out of the shower kind of feel to it, which is what i'm going for my mascara, is almost always l'oreal voluminous original my favorite concealer. This is the most not my favorite yeah, it's one of my favorites, the la girl pro conceal it's so affordable. This is cool tan. I use this under my eyes and on my eyelid, like under my brow, okay, so my eye shadow has been this huda beauty smoky obsessions. This was a holiday collection, i'm using the pink color here, because it's neutral, like i said my outfit - is going to be changing a bit today, i'm doing some styling some fashion, styling, we love fashion over here. Okay, when i contour, i use this nyx love contours. All palette it is old. I usually go in with this brown, which is like almost done. Oh no, my finger just went into one of the shadows great. I set my face with ben nye topaz mixed with the banana one, which is like a lighter, yellow shade. Oh my eyebrow pencil lately it has been this nyx micro brow pencil in brunette. So in the winter time i tend to use ebony and in the summer time i use brunette. When i use brunette, i have to use more product, so it does go by faster because of that um. I also really really really like the milani one. I thought i was picking up milani. I ended up getting nyx i'll, probably go back to milani. I don't know we'll see um, but i i do like this one actually and i like the color i like that it's a little bit lighter than the ebony, especially for the summer time. You know it just kind of opens up your face a little bit. I just want these to be cheaper because they go so fast. It'S really annoying. I will tell you guys my lip later on and today's mug is the hey: loves, mug, hey, hey! I was feeling cute today you guys. I choose my mugs based on my the essence i'm giving for the day and today i'm feeling very cheery, and so i go with hey loves. You guys are amazing, so um yeah, if you haven't, got yours, go ahead so for the hair she has been feeling dry, as i said it before, and so the shower water is great, but the thing about water in the summer time is that it just evaporates. So fast once it dries, it dries, and so i definitely am going to have to spritz it with some more water, this mister's from amazon, i'm obsessed with it. I think i was like i want to say. Like i went like six months saying, i was gon na get it and i just would never put it in my cart for some reason, but now that i have she loves it. This is the perfect, like summer accessory if you're the kind of person who likes to do washing bows like you need a mister in your life. What i like about it is that this one's continuous, so it doesn't give you too much water. If you're worried about too much shrinkage but today, obviously because i have a wash and go - i don't care about shrinkage. I just know that i need moisture and then we need something to kind of like create that barrier between the sun and the water evaporating. So fast, so you have to kind of add products on top. However, i don't necessarily want to do like a cream product because it might disturb the the curl definition it's annoying, because cream is obviously going to let help it last longer, but i'm going to be trying to finish this up. This is the carol's daughter, leave-in conditioner. It'S a spray, there's also another one that you can get from walmart it's heritage by mindy, mcknight day 2, hair freshener, so i've got the carol's daughter, it smells like vanilla dreams. This is called black vanilla, i'm a vanilla girl. All i got to say is watch out for the bees because they becoming what i like about this spray or like spray leave-ins for wash and go in particular. Is that they're so lightweight that you can really like apply these every day? So this is basically a water glycerin mix based on the ingredients, uh yeah, there's a and then there's you know some probably conditioners and then just a lot of extracts and some fragrance. So the fragrance is caramel. Yes, so there's not much to this. It'S basically like water and glycerin glycerin is a humectant, so it's gon na you know draw water to it. However, because there's no moisture there's not that much humidity, i don't think in the air. It may be detrimental, so what i want to do is protect with some oil. I have to really think about these days like when i want to add oil. Oh, this is the carol's daughter, goddess string, seven oil blend hair and scalp oil, and so i don't use oil. The way that i used to i used to use oil every single time, every single hairstyle. You know it was just mandatory. I didn't think about why i was using it. I would just use it because that was the next step. You know that's what i had been taught. That'S what i was used to oiling my scalp, et cetera, et cetera. Now i've realized that oil on my scalp is the worst thing that i could do because of my scalp condition and that oil i can think a little bit more strategically about when i want to use it, and one thing i do like about oil is not Only does it add shine, it adds a malleability to the hair and in a climate where the sun is breaking zoe's back by drying her out, it can be like a really nice barrier to help your product to last a little bit longer and then, when i'm Using things like a gel, you know my hair can feel quite hard, and oil just brings a little bit of flexibility so that when i am manipulating my hair, like i'm doing now, i'm not experiencing as much breakage. There are different uses for different things, and i think that over this past year, what i've been able to do is really think about what i, what i'm trying to achieve, and why i'm using the products that i'm using and then just learning how to undo everything That i've done so that is the cleansing and conditioning process when i'm in the shower. So at this point i think i might pick it out. You know i'm not a huge fan of pigs, to be honest because i feel like it just kind of rips through my hair. If i'm not careful so as you can see, i'm not bringing it all the way out, i'm just sort of going towards the crown and pulling out just a little bit, and i've also realized this. I don't know if i love the look of wash and goes without doing the banding method, because my hair needs it almost needs like a shape or something i feel like. My hair has no real shape and because i'm not really interested in wearing wash and goes 24 7, it's a little bit frustrating because i don't know okay, this is the last day i'm going to have this wash and go by the way. I do think that i need some kind of something like i'm feeling like she's lifeless and we're going to use some bobby pins to give some shape, and this is the finished look of the hair. I think she's looking cute zoe's, giving today she is sometimes it just - takes a couple bobby pins to give it some shape. You know, and so oh and it is time for me to wash - i noticed my scalp is like okay, we need some shampoo girl. The conditioner was cute. Let'S do some shampoo so anyway, let me show you my hair and now i'm gon na get dressed for the day. Hi. What'S your name? What'S your last name, davinci cyril, what's mommy's name um and what's daddy's name, i don't know what's daddy's name, daddy's name is j.q outfit of the day. Listen she's! Swaggy! Today the shirt is very long. It'S from h and m. I love it. This crop top uh halter top is from zara. We'Ve got an asian and black belt, and these jeans are from pretty little thing. I'M definitely letting you guys see what the whole fit looks like. I'M going to switch these out with some sunglasses as well and take some photos these glasses are. They were actually thrifted on my birthday, i think it looks really good with this wash and go, but the star of the show the star is this kara lagerfeld handbag? I love how colorful it is. I needed something that had a lot of colors in it, so that i can wear it with multiple outfits without having like five different bags. You know, and so and the stomach is out you guys, i'm wearing some high-waisted jeans, but you know my diet has been dieting. It has been working, you know, i have had a child. I'Ve also been pregnant again, and you know it definitely has some diasta diastasis recti sort of thing going on. That'S when your abs kind of expand - and so it's been really difficult for me to kind of tighten these up, but i'm working on it with diet and then you know doing maybe some elongating ab work like pilates or something i'll i may get into just to See if i can do something about it without surgery but yeah zoe's looking great - and i think this outfit is so dope anyway, i'm gon na take you shopping. I will not bow down so cute. Oh, don't rush me! I made up my mind going straight to the top. You need to slap in your okay, so here's the verdict - tj maxx over here - is probably one of the better tj maxx's that i've been to, which is, you know, really nice, but they had kind of the same things that i usually see like at marshalls and Tj maxx jessica, simpson, tommy, hilfiger, dkny, guess dune, so it was like those that level of michael kors. You guys know what i'm talking about right so like in that like mid-range, where it's not like 20, but you know what i mean, but they did have stuff in there. That was really inexpensive. The skincare section was kind of popping because there was like shiseido there that used to be at sephora. There was, though this was the special part. There was this one section called the runway at t.j.maxx and they had. I saw some vents there, like vince camuto. I saw like tahari like there was a couple of brands that, like i kind of vaguely, know, but i've never shopped that before and though that price range was anywhere from like it was like a hundred dollars and up everything was around a hundred dollars. All the tags were purple, so i'm thinking that that's the section that they're talking about there also was a lot of jewelry like i saw some um kendra scott in there and like really cool jewelry so and some of the handbags i really liked as well. So i'm i'm thinking that i'm gon na have to come back in the fall, because a lot of stuff was summer stuff. But they had a lot of fall. Centered items, especially for the runway collection, which kind of makes sense. Because if you think about like how runaway collections go, they kind of are already forecasting to the future. So i don't know i'm assuming that it's past stuff that they put up there anyway, i'm gon na go check it out, but right now i'm gon na get a snack and then go home. I have made it back home. I before i went inside tj maxx. I said to myself: do not buy anything. I had a whole pep talk off camera before i went in there and i nearly bought like two or three things and i said: nope. Listen. You guys i bought so much stuff to like upgrade my wardrobe and then fall is gon na be coming. I'M gon na go back to tj maxx and i'm really gon na look at that runway collection because the material felt so soft anyway. This is my hair. This is the last foreseeing of this wash and go okay.
