Products that I use for my locs! Simple routine using few products. In this video we talk products for washing, moisturizing and re-twisting.

Hi in this video i'll be talking about the products i use for my locs. I'Ve had them for five years now and in that time the products i've used have changed as i've learned more about my hair and about loc maintenance in general. So today, i'm going to cover what i use for washing my hair moisturizing, my hair and retwisting, my hair okay. So starting with washing my hair, i've used many shampoos over the years, but i have settled on using castile soap. This is a really good product to use as shampoo for logs, because it doesn't leave residue if you use a product that leaves residue in your hair that can contribute to buildup in your logs. So using a product like this, which is light and doesn't leave residue, is really good, so it's very concentrated, so you only need to use a little bit each time you wash your hair. It is more expensive than just buying regular shampoo, but a bottle like this, which is just under 500 ml, will last a long time again because you're only using a small amount. You don't need to use so much of this. In fact, i've already used it to wash my hair and i use so little. You can't even tell so yeah something like this will last a long time. So, even though it's expensive, it's worth it, i did used to use this shampoo. This is from a company that makes products specifically for logs this one is nice as well. I just didn't really use it that much, and i prefer - i definitely prefer this over this and then i will do treatment on my hair every other time i wash so. I don't do treatment every time i wash, but every other time. I just don't feel like. I need to do treatment on my hair. That often so i use this company, which is a local company that does natural hair products. The reason i like them is because they make products for natural hair, but they don't make it really expensive. There are so many other companies that, if they're making products for natural hair they'll make it a lot more expensive than just products for than haircut, then hair products for just like other types of hair. So i like these guys because you'll find so many different natural hair products, but they're not that expensive, so i use their deep treatment every other time. I wash my hair and this isn't a leave-in treatment. You put it in your hair after you wash it, leave it for like 10-15 minutes, and then you wash it off for my moisturizing routine. I keep it simple. Only three different products, the first one is plain water. I have a spray bottle. I put plain water in it and i use it to spray all over my hair from scalp all the way down. Sometimes i will use rose water instead of plain water, so just fill the bottle with rose water and yeah. This is what i use to hydrate. My hair and then i will use some moisturizing spray. This moisturizing spray already has rose water. So that's why i've been using plain water in my spray bottle. Instead because i'm getting the rose water from here - and it also has essential oils, castor oil, vitamin e. So just the nutrients, you need for your hair to keep your hair thick healthy and growing. So i will spray my hair with water, then do the moisturizing spray and then put scalp oil. So i do this moisturizing routine, like every other day for the scalp oil. I use a mixture of coconut and sweet almond oil, this one i picked it because it smells really good this company that made this has different mixtures that they make they always mix like two different things. I recently saw like a grape seed oil mixed with something else, and i think i'm going to try that next. It has this tip thing that like drips the oil, so it's easy to apply in between your parts, so yeah moisturizing, routine. Every other day, water, moisturizing spray and scalp oil, and then, when i retwist my hair, i used to use this, which is molding wax. But i noticed this wax was contributing a lot a lot, a lot to build up in my hair. So i just stopped using it completely. This container is empty, i used it until it was empty um. By that time i realized what was happening so i stopped using it. I just have the empty container. Nowadays i will spray my hair with water and add some jamaican black, castor oil, so jamaican black, castor oil is very thick and this one also has argan oil as well. So it's very thick. It doesn't smell good, but it's thick and it's really good for hair growth, so you don't need a lot and so something like this i've had it for a very long time. There'S like this much left, but this this amount will last me quite some time as well. So yeah, that's what i use for your twisting when you're reducing you don't have to use a product like this. That'S specifically made for your twisting. Your hair just needs to be wet, so that's why i was completely okay with getting rid of using a product like that and just using water. Essentially, i don't need to add the oil when i'm retwisting, i just want to add the oil. The main thing is just having wet hair, so i will wet my hair with water, then add a bit of jamaican black, castor oil, i'll massage it into the hair and then i'll twist the hair and clip it with a clip to hold the retwist in place. So the clips that i use are very simple: they look like this, you pinch this part open it and then just clip it on and it helps the reaches stay in place once your hair dries, you remove the clips, so i have a number of clips. I'M not the one who bought them. I know someone who had dreads and she combed them out. So she gave me hers because she didn't need them anymore, but these are things that you can find at any haircare shop. I'M sure they'll have them they're different types, but this is just the type that i have so those are the products i use not many things. One of the reasons why i got locks is because it's a low maintenance hairstyle, so you don't need many products with it, so i've always tried to keep my products minimal. I hope this video has been helpful. I hope i've answered questions that have been asked frequently about my hair care routine. I will do more hair care related videos in the future, but for now thank you for watching you
