Hello, my name is Maurice Michael and I'm here in Oakland, California and oedema hair works. I have been in the industry for over 15 years and I have done here overseas in places like Australia and Sudan and London. Some of my work has been seen. In essence, black passionate and hype hair. Today I want to demonstrate how to straighten relaxed hair first, you want to give it a good blow dry. In this case, I want to use the Denmark brush, so I can give it nice body and movement, so the importance of using a brush blow drying relaxed hair is because you want to lay down. The cuticle is very important to lay down the cuticle, because relaxed hair can be very porous. So what I did is basically put the brush on the head. Turning put the air create tension and roll it out, because you need enough tension to pull it. Pull the hair straight and you want the air to flow right through the hair that will lay down the cuticle and allow the hair to be shiny and gives and gives movement now, the next step. So one of the most important parts of straightening, the hair, is to make sure you maintain a nice moisture balance by using a light oil or shine serum. So first, what you want to do is get just a little product. A little bit goes a long way make sure you really a mole safai the product. You really want to break it down, so it spreads evenly. You want to have a nice thin layer of product from the roots to the ends. You really want to pay attention to the ends because it ends tend to be more porous. So once you do that, you want to get into hair and take the time to spread the product, because this is a very, very important part because we're using a lot of heat from the blow-dryer to the flat iron. You want to maintain moisture and shine, and once you do that, then you'll be ready to go to the next step, which is the flat iron. Now we can go to the flatiron first, you want to make sure that you get a flat iron that has either ceramic or titanium plates very important to land down the cuticle and lock it in the shine. It'S all about the finish when the hair is really thick, you might want more attention, so you want to grab higher up on the flat iron when you want less tension, grab further down so section up the hair start from the roots and work your way down With a nice, even tension and even stroke again, the whole idea is to lock in the shine and to give it a great finish. Mmm-Hmm, when I'm flat iron in here I like to when I get to the bottom kind of slow down a little bit, because the hair is more porous at the ends. Therefore, the cuticles are raised more. So when you're going down the hair shaft bring it down, get towards the bottom and kind of slow down a bit and that's how you flatiron relax here for more information. Maurice Michael: Thank you for the input. Blow drying and flat ironing(or curling) is a necessary part of straightening(styling) relaxed hair. Relaxed hair is porous, therefore without heat e.i blow dryer, flat iron to lay down the cuticle it will have a frizzy finish and the style won't last for the client. The key component to thermal application is PRODUCT what to use, when and how to protect the hair from damage. I Used a cold setting when free hand blow drying before flat ironing.

midnightclever: Ugh. Nothing is sexier than a fresh perm or touch up.lol I am a transitioning natural but SOMETIMES...when those roots look and feel straight... #INeedSomeCrack .lol Also. I havent finished watching the video but there is nothing like a stylist who knows thusly can accurately articulate hair info and prove it. Bad side is when because of them you go to their salon and...theyre BOOKED.smh and the MOST EXPENSIVE.SMH #WhyYouGottaBeLike.lol but i guess i understand...

xDesichan: You most definitely can straighten relaxed hair without heat. I do it all the time and it comes out pin straight.

Evil Lynn: A Denmark brush tho bruh? Really? Lol. A for effort tho

Bre Quinn: Her hair already looked dry though.

Jo Jo: Would an instyler work too ?

caramel dale: that brush has definitely seen better days

V Fry: ....OK, so irrelevant but, he's attractive

MotherNature: this just doesn't sit right with me. idk why lmao

sweetcountrybear: lol dude said Denmark brush

Belinda Perry: he just doing anything! doing the most yet not enough! she don't even wanna be there she too mad! yeah this is a joke it has to be! lol

boonana M: I know that girl I'm the chair had to have been low key turned on that voice and them

Jadamarie Kate: Denmark brush ??? Lol

opsy: can you do my hair????

kim c: You mean the tension method

Marish Long: This guy is NOT laying down the cuticles putting heat on that hair! LOL Unless it was on COOL shot, he was opening the cuticles with the heat. Common sense. And the heat protection should have been added on first. Why does this guy not have a lot of thumbs downs? Sad how so many black women (not all but just speaking on the ones complimenting this guy) are more harsh on black women than black men. Pathetic. And then they get mad when black men are more harsh on black women that are fat and ugly vs. black women that are curvy(not fat) and attractive. Let a black woman do the same thing this guy did I doubt there would be as many positive reviews. Besides why do women with relaxed hair need flat iron? it's already straight? Bone straight is ugly, even people with naturally straight hair think it is. Having some body in your hair makes it look fuller and just more attractive overall

Mr. Struggle: She needs a trim. Her hair looks too dry and dead. Not shinny at all. This guy is a joke.

MilkCh0c0lat3: Is this a joke?!

Alyssa R.: .......... -_- ...no.

Oomie Says: So flat :/

Lapreghiera: You mean denman...
