Hi guys, how are you I'm Robin welcome back to my youtube channel? No Lords of you guys asked about clays wax is what you can do with them and kind of what they're used for. So I thought because they're two of the most popular hair products, I'm gon na literally go through them side by side and help you decide, which is the best one for you. So this is my second collaboration of 20 guide hair care products. If you cast your mind back like literally what was it like two months ago, I did the seesaw Spray video and I and I want to do the same thing for clay and wax and really kind of put them head-to-head almost a bit like a brown battle. Looking at you know, consistency texture. What they're supposed to do the application is styling, they're, finished and relief to help. You can work out what you're looking for in a product on which, through the best for you know, you guys know. I, like Twingo, hair care products, they're British, I'm British British hair care heritage brand. So really, for me, that's something I like to fight a flag, for this is me playing a flag and also that was pitiful with the black day and also the champion guys who are styling from the hair down again a bit of a passion thing for me: Style from the hair day so guys I am gon na go through this and by the end you will know which product is best for you. Taking our first look at the products, the clay and the wax. Obviously they are in different containers, but we don't need to worry too much about that. I would say whatever store you go into or buying products online, flip them over and look at the ingredients. That'S going to give you the biggest clue about what the product might do in your hair and actually what the finish might be. So we got the clay here, which is water-based versus the wax, which no surprise has got lanolin at the top there, which is a wax component. So we know that this one's oil-based and this one's water-based. So you will know that when it comes to washability and how easy is to remove that wax is going to be harder to remove than the clay. Now, looking at the texture and consistency, you'll often have a clay as being softer and more dry versus the wax, which will be a lot harder to the touch and also because it's oil-based it will have more of that sort of wet oily feeling. So really you'll know when you get to a clay, it takes less to scoop out and warm up before you get it free. The here in application versus the wax, which I always recommend, goes with a wax really layering it into the hair, but scooping that offer on. However, you're gon na play getting into the hands and really ensuring this warmed up. Otherwise, you aren't gon na get those awful bit stuck in your hair. Now, a lot of you have asked and will actually be asking. Does this suit my hair type? No for both of these the wax and the clay, I will always use a pre, styler and you'll see that when it gets the sterling part of this video. Just because my hair is very fine, I've got a lot of there, but I just need to give it an extra boot before styling, but if you've got very thick here, then really the wax you will have to put on in layers. If you want it really close to the head and slick just because you really have to coat it versus the clay which will give you that texture and the volume again, you might not find that the hair sticking down, but with this one, you will get more Of that texture, I am gon na show you exactly how you use these products, but I have used pre Stellar's before just because I mean I need a priest owner always just to boost her hair and give it a little bit more before styling it. But the two products, I'm using this one by the flexi definition gel that I'm going to put with a wax just because that's gon na work, hand in hand as you'll see it's give a hero boot, but also make it quite sleek. Then, for the clay based one you'll remember this one from the seesaw sprit video, I'm gon na do sea salt spray just give a bit more texture and a boost, then to move on to the clay, but really in terms of application of both these products. Cleese are actually one of my favorite types of products just because for me, my hair type of what I like to do, they're very, very easy: to apply. They'Re gon na go through root to tip no bother and allow you to style in any sort of way that you want versus the wax which, again once warmed up, is very easy to apply. But you need to move slightly quicker with that, because when it starts to dry, the wax will go hard in the hair. Styling is really where you can see actually more so feel that there's a difference between a clay and a wax. Now, looking at the clay here, it says, shape and hold the waxes definition and shine, and really the key things in each of these and waxes in clays in general. Is that clay will give you texture it's great for sort of more voluminous styles stuff? That looks more lived-in stuff, that's more everyday, so something that I've done just pushing my hair back exactly as I've done here. Actually, because this is the claim a here here versus the wax, which definitely is about that that definition and shine. It feels more sleek to the touch. You don't have that same gritty, texture, it's very smooth, so it means if you want to push your hair all the way back. You want to go for maybe even a sort of side, part comb over or something like that. The wax is gon na be perfect for things like that, but really you can see by putting both the hair cells together that the finishes are completely different. You'Ve got the clay one which does look more and for more, more relaxed. You'Ve got more texture in the hair; it's got a matte finish, so not much shine at all versus the wax, which has got that high gloss that shine the hair sitting for closer to the head, which the wax allows has got less texture. So really I mean I would say that wax one is very formal versus the clay which is far more relaxed, but you know for me. If you were like you, can only have one of these products or I would go. You know I would always go clay. Just because I think it suits my hair better, I like the way it styles, but actually do not. I actually I would want both. I would want both and I'd keep of formal and casual there you go. Thank you very much for watching hope. It has helped. You in some sort of way, maybe actually helps you to say which one is best for you clay or wax. Now, if you new to my channel and you've, not yet press subscribe, then please do hit subscribe right now. The button is just up there. But I'll see you in my next new video bye,

Robin James: What about you - are you a clay or wax fan?

Safwan C: I used the styling clay for a good few months. I enjoyed using it and overall, it was decent. But a few niggles such as the synthetic scent and the crispy texture it forms made me switch to a much higher quality product

Marc Sukumar: I quite like Truefitt & Hill’s Clay. It had a nice scent, and holds pretty well, especially for someone with wavy/curly hair, such as myself. (Also, made in the UK )

afcConnor8: Great video!! Thanks so much for your a full breakdown of Clay vs Wax really appreciate it. Straight to the point, v.informative. You've answered all my questions.

Cruzznce: Every time my interest for hair products and styling spikes again, I always come back to you. You're entertaining, engaging, but more importantly, short but concise. Thank you!

Leon Vela: Hi Robin, thanks for such an informative video. I'm unsure weather to use VO5 matt clay or Toni and Guy clay. Vo5 has Kaoin which is supposed to be good for the scalp, the toni and guy clay product does not show Kaolin or Bentonite in the ingredients. Would you recommend one or any others please as I have a sensitive scalp? Thanks!

Stef Vanhees: I'm definitely a clay guy. Just curious. Would you be up for doing a video dedicated to hairdryers and how to use them effectively? (different temperatures, speed, technique, prep treatments etc.) I've been subscribed for quite a while and your videos have really helped me develop my style and made me realise that I shouldn't feel ashamed or less manly just because I use conditioner, moisturiser, a hair dryer, like shopping for clothes etc. etc. For a guy who just turned 21, your tips & advice have really been invaluable. Cheers Robin! (my real name is Stef Vanhees btw, it's a Belgian name) ;)

max silbert: Hey Robin great video as usual. Do you have an opinion on hair straightening treatments like keratin, cysteine, or Brazilian blowout? I know you don't have to worries about it lol but I've been thinking about it because I have really wavy fluffy hair, though I'm worried about the ingredients list.

Julian T: Great video, as always. I only use Quicksand and I think it's almost like a Clay, more than a wax. Also, have you tried products from Ouai? I read it has some kind of wax/clay

FURY GAMING: I absolutely love the proffesionalism in your videos! Great job!!

Ryan Ng: Hey Robin! I've got a jar of Claymation that expired in May this year and I've already used half of it since I got it. Do you think its safe to continue using the product even after the expiry date? This keeps bugging me haha.

Altair l Clash Royale: Not that related to the video, but I listened to your hair tips video and why your hair isn't staying up video, and after evenly applying the product to my hair it stood up for a day and a half. All I used was tresemme mousse and American crew fiber, and it felt that there wasn't any product in my hair at all too.

David Harkess: Great video again Robin ... I always use clay, with me having thick hair and a lot of it, it makes my hair more manageable.

Lord Valpert: I've tried both of the products and I actually favoured the clay rather than wax Since then,I've used clays for my everyday hairstyle

Sehthree: I use Mr Pompadour Clay and I like it, though I'll admit it's more of a creamy clay than traditional (I have fine hair so creamy clay is much better than hard). Never tried wax but Gold Digger is on my list.

Jocelyn Loch: no matter what video you do it is always informative the hubs always goes to your videos and I so I can see what works best for our son who is 6 and we use a lot of pomades. any recommendations for dandruff, clay or wax? oh, and thank you for the recommendations on the scents from my last comment. keep up the good work you style god!

Naz Erikson: Your videos are very informative and unbiased. Glad i subscribed

Mar K: I've never really cared about my buzzcut hair, now I'm growing it more and will be trying to get some g-eazy like look, slicked to the back, the problem is my job requires me to have a cap on all the time. What hair product would you reccomend then so that after 8 hours of work my hair wouldn't look like I didn't wash my hair for a week?

See Billy Run: Hey Robin I was going to pick up some sea salt spray at my local drugstore, but when I was looking through the ingredients I noticed that there was alcohol. Is it common to find alcohol in sea salt spray? I was told that generally the lesser quality products tend to have alcohol, do you know if this true?

Parag K. Bhatt: Clay is more suitable for casual outfits that needs volume in hair whereas wax is for formal outfits where the hair would be shiny and slick.

milo: I love how all your videos are so easy to watch, sounds kinda weird but yeah keep it up :)

Aman Gaddu: I always prefer hair clay because of the hold and texture. But you look great when you used both products.

Alex Jones: Hi Robin! Love the Channel. Do you normally use sea salt spray and thinking tonic or sea salt spray as a thickening tonic? Thanks?

nikolay Dimov: Thank you for your great videos! I am new to your channel and find your videos and content really helpful and clear. Wish you success and satisfaction!

Qazi Rabbi: Hey Robin great video mate! Quick question : I have fine(not thin-ing) wavy hairs, which one should I buy first, original by blumaan or hybrid clay!

Bindis Dave: Toni and guy clay was actually my first serious hair styling product still have it on my shelf. I'm more of a clay guy because of texture and hold. Blumaan cavalier clay for life hope you well robin. Fellow fan from Northamptonshire

Manish Mohan: Thanks for the informative video... Lately I was wondering which to choose, clay or wax...

Braxton N: Whats the best pre-styler i can buy that goes well with a clay? I went to a local hair shop and they had never heard of any good pre-stylers so im kind of at a loss

Ben Reynolds: Hey Robin, would you recommend the clay in the video over VO5 or Fish clay ?

AJ Zoro: That stache looking on fleek Robin. As for me, I like Clay better for my wavy hair.

DADDYOFNINJA CLASHERS: Watching your videos since morning its like i am stuck on your channel !!! Superb content and presentation!!!! Keep it up man !!!!!

Haslo: Very informative, thank you!

Nicolaus Puckett: Would you ever use definition gel before putting clay in ur hair??

Ryan Gunn: My lord and saviour!! been searching for hours for a new product and I’ve just finally found your video, so helpful thank you!

Max Liou: Thanks Robin. I finally know what's different of Clay & Wax.

Zayy: I personally love both since I have a Slick Back Haircut, Caviler Clay and a bunch of wax based pomades.

Lukas Jankovic: Please do some more reviews on some homebrewed products, like the brand battle between Arcadian Clay vs Flagship Clay

Regis Filia: Not only were you informative but the video itself, the looks of yours on the street etc, really made your point as to the difference between the products. Well done!

Jorge Alejandro Rodríguez: the thing about waxes is that a lot of products selled under the wax flag do different things, sure clays are also guilty of that but not at the level of waxes.

Rahm Menon: Hi Robin, what can I do to straighten my semi-curls. Those mild curls pisses me off. Hair just keeps turning in the wrong angle. I am using the following for prep/products: Mousse w/hair dryer, big volume powder and sea salt spray

Journeyman: In your opinion whats the best overall clay out there for the price? (USA)

Debora A: hey robin! in the case of waxes or other products that are hard to wash off, what products do you recommend to help get them completely off the hair without damaging it? I'm always afraid of getting very strong shampoos and stuff like that cause those are quite damaging to the hair, right? Is there something that can be used to remove stuff without ruining the hair? Thanks!

Communism is the future: I really love your hair style, but I'm struggling to explain it to my stylist. Could you produce or do you already have a video explains your cut? Thanks

Ariff Tupar: Can we use clay for medium long crew cut with wavy to style it to be messy?

Christopher Woods: I've been using the Toni & Guy moulding clay since your last Toni & Guy video and I love it!

Scott Lafferty: I have a bad fringe that just wont do what its told not matter if I use clay or wax. I always think clay is a more natural product and the healthiest option for styling hair

ReflexShow: Is it okay to apply clay as a pre style and finish with wax spray? Some of you guys doing it and can verify that it will help?

Rahm Menon: hi Robin, Any plans to have a video created on men's face wash/scrub (do's and don'ts)? Face needs some love too :D

himanshu mahajan: Hey love ur videos. Is morrocol oil texture clay really worth it.

Ben Hurley: I was thinking of more of a messy style which one should I use, or would there be some other alternative?

Unknown: No matter what I use in my hair it won't stay to the side it just keeps flopping down I've used clay and wax

Rishikesh Dubey: Hey Robin nice video as always. A question for you.. When are you gonna do the Gatsby moving rubber review? You asked about it on ur Instagram stories and I replied telling u to review the grey container one and you replied with a vid but there was no audio in it and I couldn't hear what u said. So can you give me some information on it?

Jacob N: What clay would u recommend for fine hair?

DS K: Honestly I mix both every time

Viet Anh: Hi Robin. Are products like HDF quicksand and Byvilain gold digger, silverfox, etc considered clay or wax ?

Hayden Robinson: I am a weird specimen because I actually use clay or a paste for a slick back with volume in the front, I love it

Matt Ball: Hey Robin, I've recently got an awful haircut from a highstreet barber, hardly any length on top now. Where do you get your haircut and how much do you pay for it?

Joseph Rosas: I love clays texture but it never holds on my hair. i have thin straight hair and any water based product never provides the hold I need

Hettik: Hii, do you recommend me to use a pre styler?

Cíu Tau: I would really appreciate another brand battle. Pls do By Vilain Night Fiber vs Carter Supply Hard cream Pomade. I really need the comparison

King Caesar: Hey Robin , what type of prestyler would u recommend for thick hair? BTW love that blue button up shirt

Alom New: What should I use for stop hair fall and make my hare more healthy?
