Hey everyone and everyone watching the replay, welcome the sun is really stunning right now, oh, my goodness, hello, hello, hello, hello! I'M gon na wait for a few more people to come in the live happy Friday. Hey. Can you guys hear me I'm trying to like get my little drink, my little drinky drink together? Thank you guys for liking. I got seven likes already. Thank you guys, happy Friday trying to get my drink together, trying to get all the things together and once like. It'S kind of chaotic over here loud and clear, okay, great awesome. The sun is like really sunny right now, because it's like setting like the sun rises on the front part of my house, and it sets in the back. So if it gets too crazy, I'll I'll move but happy Friday, Okay, so coming from talk to me, while I get my little drink together, I'm drinking um Waterloo, I'm into sparkling water, there's no carbs, no sugar and it's very tasty. So I got like this old. It'S not that old. I got this early this morning. This um Starbucks drink, not Starbucks, drink, Starbucks cup and I'm using it so hope you guys got your little snacks and your Waters and stuff because we are gon na have fun tonight. Okay, we got Chicago, we got London, what's m town, what's in town New York, you walk in the house over here in New York drinking my coffee and walking my dog Boston. Every time I see Boston, I want a Boston cream pie. Happy Friday, Oklahoma City, hey Cleveland, my sister lives in Cleveland. I'M about to change my position. This sun is really. This is even better I'm about to change. I don't know, I don't know. I'M about to change move my um my shade down, Brooklyn Texas, San Diego Jamaica yeah, the sun is in my face, hold on y'all. Let me let me close my blinds because I can't this time hold on hold on one. Second, hopefully that's better. Hopefully that's better. Like I love natural lighting but too much too much isn't you know, but I think we're: okay, okay, I'm just like this. The whole day, I'm just I'm gon na, be like this Riley is in the house Houston best size in the house, Dallas Texas, all right! Hey guys happy Friday guys, thank you guys for coming in. I literally have no agenda. This is all about you, okay, this is all about you. I do have a few products. I want to share with you guys that I've been loving lately, because you know you guys always are curious like what are you loving? What are you using? You know so I got some of these here, but let's start with some questions like what is going on with your hair. What'S been like your biggest hair challenge recently, you know what are some new things you just discovered about your hair, like what products are popping? What products are not popping right now, like? Let'S talk Philly in the house, I want a Philly cheesesteak right now. I think I'm hungry I've been doing like intermittent fasting. I only eat once a day um for like Health purposes, and you know trying to like slim down a little bit and um. I think that's why I'm hungry. I had a beef patty today, that's not low carb, but it was Friday. Okay, let's see, let's see, um okay. What are your thoughts on? Are you from Dallas Texas? No, I'm not from Dallas. I am from New Jersey. I am a Jersey girl, born in Newark, New Jersey, Brick City raising, uh, East Orange Irvington, orange Maplewood, and now I'm in North Carolina, New Jersey will always be home, though, but I love North Carolina. It'S a different vibe, it's nice, okay! What are your thoughts on olaplex? I think olaplex is pretty dope um I use their. Is it the number three? The number three light protein treatment. I really like that. A lot um I've noticed that my hair does become stronger. Is that my main protein treatment, though? No, I'm still the apogee girl. I think aphogee is um very effective um, but both products are great, but affigy tends to be the best protein treatment. For me, excuse me: okay, is it possible to change your hair porosity? That'S a great question um. I believe it is some people might disagree, but I believe it is because you can go from low porosity to high porosity um. You know like if you have like damage to your hair. Chemical service has gone bad um heat damage. You know you can go low to high, so, yes, it can totally change now as far as it going from high to low. I think it's possible, you know it's tough, only because the cuticles can be kind of finicky sometimes, but I do believe it's possible. I think it's going to take time number one and you know some a lot of deep conditioning, um a lot of ceiling using the right products and whatnot, but there are people who do have very healthy, High porosity hair. So I don't want you guys to think. Like oh, my hair is high porosity it's over with no, you can have some beautiful, Healthy, High porosity hair. You just got ta, learn how to you know, navigate it so yeah. Oh, that's funny. Will I said: oh you who, who you know I can be. I can be a little Hood only. What I need to be you got ta know how to turn on turn it off. Okay, let's see um I'm a student and have been trying to find an affordable, scalp oil, but all of them seem to contain coconut oil, which I thought was bad for your scalp. So coconut oil is great for the hair. I don't recommend it for the scalp uh, mainly because it is a cominogenic oil, meaning it. It tends to clog the pores of the scalp. Hence the reason why I don't recommend it on the scalp. Now, if you're looking for a scalp oil, there are quite a few out there um one I'm loving right now is. I should have brought it downstairs with me, but it's by um ajua, I want to say it's called um Baobab mint oil, if you just type in like eyes, UI a d o w a mint oil um. I love that it's a really really good oil um. Another good one I recommend is just regular, pure natural oil like it doesn't, have to be a blend. It can be like you, go to Whole Foods and buy you a bottle of jojoba oil. You know, or you know, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil doesn't have to be like this store brought oil. You know, um yeah get your own pure oil. You know add some essential oils. You know have fun with it. So, yes, um have you? How do you feel about curl Smith? Have you tried it? I'Ve only tried the leave-in conditioner um. I thought it was pretty cool. You know I haven't tried their other products but uh as far as their ingredients go. I haven't seen any red flags which is good. They have a lot of beneficial ingredients. They have a lot of um oils and butters a lot of cationic ingredients, things that our hair needs um, so yeah, um, curl Smith, is pretty dope. I just I haven't used all of their products, just their leave-in conditioner um. Oh plug really quick to learn more about ingredients check out the natural hair care wisdom, flash cards um. Let me tag my my website, so you guys can hang up that uh. How do I pin this thing? Oh, did I pin it? Oh, I pinned it cool. So if you go there, you will see the natural hair care with some flash cards and the curly girls guide to haircut ingredients um. I talk about cationic ingredients, the best ingredients for 4A, 4B, 4C, 3A, 3B, 3C, high price low porosity. All the things concerning our hair, you're gon na find it there um and if you use the Cold Guide 10 for the curly girls guide, you'll get 10 off or if you get the natural hair care with some flash cards and use the code. Wisdom, 10 I'll type it below you'll get um 10 off as well hold on guys. Let me write this then I'll. Get back to these questions. Does anyone else sing while they're doing things? I don't think I can pinch two things, but there it is okay. What school did you go to um so for college? I went to North Carolina's Central University um HBCU here in you, know North Carolina uh, so yeah. That'S where I went got my bachelor's in chemistry and I stayed a little bit longer and got my Master's in chemistry, um, so yeah, that's where I went. Does lemon oil have terpenes lemon essential oil? Yes does have terpenes, yes, and for those who don't know, terpenes are phytochemicals organic compounds that are amazing for our hair and our scalp. They do a great job at activating hair growth and they are penetration enhancers. So they are not the oil. That'S going to lay on top of the scalp they're going to go deep, which is where you know. That'S what you want if you want performance so, yes, lemon oil, essential oil has terpenes old school, Queen Helene cholesterol, treatment like five dollars. Oh yeah! That'S that's! Definitely! Old school VO5 um, Queen Helene, all of that old school. Okay, let's see um, my hair is loving. The clothes Spritz except my crown, is struggling. It'S completely a different texture. Isn'T that something like my hair is looser in the back, but up here baby, it's just like it's so tight. So if your crown is struggling, you know you could try something different. You know like I don't know if you mean like it's not growing in the front or if it's just not as manageable, but if it's not growing in the front and you're using the clove Spritz um, what you can do is switch it up. You know you can add peppermint oil to that clothes first, but make sure you shake it up before you use it or just focus on like some type of oil like hair growth, oil on the front and then do the rest, clove Spritz oil. So you can try that too. Okay, let's see I'm in Raleigh North Carolina, okay, Lauren cool cool um. If you're in Raleigh, you should check out trust life um, she has a salon and a store there, natural hair care products bomb bomb products the last live. I did I talked about her hair gel trust, live t-r-e-s-l-i-f-e, really good, so check her out. I think she's in downtown Raleigh, okay, okay, any tips for those suffering with ccca. Yes, so so number one. I don't talk about this a lot, but it is important. I want you guys to focus on your diet. Were you consuming? You want to be careful of processed foods. You know any type of food. That'S going to throw your body off whack, because what we consume has a huge effect on our hair, our scalp. All of the things, okay, our hormones, all of the things. That'S number one number two. You want to have a consistent regimen. You know. Sometimes, when people are going through hair loss, you know they get discouraged and they feel like. What'S the point I give up? No, you have to stay consistent, you know be there for your hair and it will catch up. I promise you the number three you want to incorporate some type of hair growth, vitamin um, neutral fall is really popular right now, of course, there's always Biotin and MSN MSM um check your vitamin D levels, make sure you're not deficient in vitamin D. That'S also really important too, because that is responsible for a lot of our hair growth and then the last thing, I would say, is always incorporate some type of topical hair growth treatment, whether that's a hair growth, serum hair, growth, oil. You know you want to have some type of topical treatment going directly on the scalp, and that can be something as simple as like. Jojoba oil, with like four or five drops of peppermint, four or five drops of tea tree oil and, last but not least, be consistent. That'S the key to everything, consistency so, hopefully that helps. Okay! Okay! Okay! Let'S see you look so studious. Thank you. You know it's! The glasses girl is the glasses, it's the glass and the funny thing is, I don't even wear glasses. I got 20 20 Vision, but I wear it because they're cute and I got them on Amazon, so yeah. Okay, all right, let's see um, I switched to pre-note prenatal vitamins. I'Ve seen a lot of women do that women using prenatal vitamins and getting some good hair growth, so yeah hey if it works, sing with it. Okay, if I want to make a DIY deep conditioner, what ingredients should be would be best because I'm not sure what sleep conditions you to do. Do they soften the hair? Okay, so a DIY deep conditioner, you have so many ingredients at your fingertips, literally probably in your kitchen right now, number one you can do. You can do the avocado olive oil a little bit of Honey, Sprout, that's a great deep conditioner or you can do mayonnaise and egg well be careful with the egg, because that's if you can't just don't use no heat? Okay, because you're gon na get scrambled hit or scrambled head scrambled eggs. You don't want that, but you can go the mayonnaise, the eggs a little bit of avocado oil mix. That up you know, so either option works. I, like avocado, it's just it's such a fatty fat. It'S a fruit right, it's avocado a fruit. I know tomatoes are fruit. I just learned that out recently, but I don't care anyway. Avocado is really fatty and we want that fattiness, because our hair yeah excuse me our hair is very lipophilic, so anything oil is like. Yes, it's gon na be more. You know so avocado, like you, know the Flesh of the avocado olive oil honey, just so that honey mix it up put on your hair for at least 30 minutes. That'S a good DIY deconditioner make sure you discard it, though, like only make enough for that that time like when you're using it, don't store it up, because it's gon na go bad, you know get fruit flies in your house. Okay! What'S next love you I do. I listen to I use aloe leaf. That'S good yeah avocado with some aloe; that's a good, very, very moisturizing, very moisturizing um. Let'S see um any tips on managing scalp Health with sir or hey support. I always hate that word. Sabora, Hayek dermatitis, um, hmm! Yes, the first that comes to my mind, number one is: what kind of products are you using? What does your regimen look like? Are you putting creams on your scalp because you don't want any like scalp build up product buildup, I should say so. That'S number one number two once again getting in good nutrition, good vitamins into your system, that's going to help work from the inside out and then last but not least, you want to incorporate some level of tea tree oil, whether that's tea tree oil. A few drops in your shampoo and the reason why I recommend tea tree oil so much because my opinion, tea tree oil is probably one of the best essential oils for the scalp and as for any condition, okay, because it is anti-fungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, uh. It'S a lot of antes, okay with tea tree oil, so it is amazing for just activating the scalp and getting it back into a healthy alignment pathway. That'S the best thing I can think of right now, but yes, tea tree oil incorporate that get you some good vitamins be mindful of your health. You know what you're consuming try to take out the processed foods. That'S gon na be a video coming out because I haven't talked about that lately, like processed foods and how that connects to our body and our hair growth, so be on the lookout. For that. Let me write that down before I forget, but um. Yes, that would be my biggest thing, but tea tree oil. I kid you not is a lifesaver and that's for anyone who has scalp issues on this um. This live with me. Thank you guys for joining me by the way. I appreciate you guys being here. Okay, do you recommend a good clarifying shampoo, yeah, so um there's two so number one ORS. I think it's called ORS clarifying shampoo or aloe clarifying shampoo. That'S an Old, Faithful one. Definitely like OG natural hair care product. Definitely check that out check that one out you can find that, like at your local Beauty, Supply Store, um Target should have it. Walmart should have it too, but or rest clarifying shampoo, the aloe one, and then you can always make like a ACV, rinse apple, cider, vinegar, diluted. You know with water um, that's a great at home, clarifying um, wash, I won't say shampoo, but like rinse, that you can do to clarify your scalp and get rid of any product buildup. I'M writing this down. Right now, guys about processed foods. It has a fruit. Is that true also have seeds? Do tomatoes have seeds? Do something else got seeds? They ain't got no seeds. Is it? Is it still a fruit, though I'm having a problem trying to figure out how to use your flashcards email me email me. I learn at curlychemistry.com and we'll talk we'll chat about it. Okay, um, let's see Rosemary essential oil - is really good too for hair growth. Yes, it is yes, it is uh tea tree oil aloe will help scalp really good for eczema. Yes, aloe vera and tea tree is amazing for the scalp it is. Tomatoes have seeds. Okay, thank you Shawna, because I'm a little confused. I know they have seized okay. What are your thoughts on Ginger and shampoos? The invigorating sensation benefits for hair scalp um. I just did a video on Ginger um Ginger is great at anti-inflammation, so or anti-inflammatory. Ginger is a lot of scalp conditions, unfortunately, are due to inflammation whether that's inflammation within the follicule on the dermis of the scalp um, but Ginger being anti-inflammatory in a shampoo. That'S a really really good thing, so I haven't tried out a shampoo with ginger in it. But if you know one, you know please let us know below, because I would love to check it out. Can you provide the website where you purchased your pumpkin seed oil? Yes, um mountainroseerbs.com. That is a great website to get some quality oils um. Yes, mountainroseerbs.com. They have that what aloe vera do you recommend honestly, the one you can find the most organic version like go to your, whether that's going to Whole Foods or your local. You know grocery store like get the plant. The plant is always going to be better, you know now there are the kind that you can find like in The Jug, like the process. Kind like a really good brand is called Lily of the desert. Um. That stuff is really good, they have the gel and they have the the liquid the juice. So either option is fine, but at the end of the day the plant will still be a whole lot better and speaking of Lily of the desert. I don't know if you guys remember like who, like my OG YouTube people are on here, but I did a video years ago on when I got moisture overload, um and basically that's when your hair is too moisturized and it literally feels like rubber. It just feels slimy when it's wet, and I got that from using. I think I did like half glycerin half aloe vera juice, like that thing, super moisturized, my hair. So if you ever use aloe and glycerin be very careful, because those are very, very very moisturizing ingredients, um, glycerin and aloe vera are considered hygroscopic ingredients, which means they are humectants, so they will draw moisture from the hair from the air into your hair. So it's a lot. Okay, let's see um, I just joined, don't know if you covered this, but what do you think about no oil, slash Butters and the hair regimen um? So I did a video on that topic about a year and a half ago um. I think it's called The Secret Life of oils on your scalp or the secret life of oils on your hair check out that video, because I give my opinion on it um I go really in depth about that. I think the whole thing I'll just say this: everyone has to do what works for them, I'm not a natural hair Nazi, and if you don't know what that term mean that's a term that developed well, that's a term that was made back in 2008 when the Whole natural hair care industry was coming about natural hair Nazis. Are people are people who are like they make? You feel bad if you don't do a certain thing. If you don't do this in your regimen, if you don't try this, if you don't do that, you know that's not this. That'S not what we're doing here. Okay, um! Everyone has to do what works for them, and I know that there have been some people who said oh oils and you know can't use oils Butters, not good for your hair. You shouldn't do it the whole detox thing: hey girl! If that thing works, for you boo, you stick with it, but over here, oh we got the jojoba. We got the shea butter, we got the mango butter, we got the avocado oil, we got the grape seed. Okay, we got the babasu oil upstairs because my hair loves it and I'm gon na keep doing what my hair loves. I don't care. Okay, I've seen Newark New Jersey is about to come out. Brick City's about to come out see he comes on and off no, but seriously you got to do what works for you. I think oils and butters are amazing. I think they're great, our hair is made up of oil. We have sebaceous glands in our scalp AKA oil glands within our scalp and unfortunately, daily maintenance tends to you know, deplete our hair of the oil. So it's our job. To put it back. In okay, I've tried applying a moisturizer without an oil. On top, it wasn't a good idea. My hair was dry within like five hours, it's not working for me, but um. If you tried it y'all and you like it and your hair is flourishing, doing it then stick with it and that's okay, love and peace, guys when it comes to natural hair. This journey should be fun. You have fun Journey. Okay, I'm off my soapbox. Okay back to business um, let's see um hey Tanya can? How can someone tell if hair is coming out is a part of a daily shed or, if there's an actual problem? That'S a great question, so I would say think about when you comb your hair in the past versus now. So when you comb your hair and you're, brushing your hair like think about how your hair was six months ago or even three months ago, versus where it is now, if you find that okay, the hair in my brush, is like doubling or it's tripling, then that's Excessive shedding, then I would ask yourself: has there been any changes in my life? Is there any stress? Are there any new medications, I'm taking? Is there a change in my diet? You know like different things. Um, you know what I'm saying so, that's kind of the best way to know like thinking about what your hair was six months ago and what it is now. Hopefully that helps and if you are experiencing excessive, shedding um green tea. Rinses are the way to go. Okay, I had a lot of shedding um like three or four months ago, and I did a green tea rinse. I want to say, after the the second rinse, that excessive shedding literally stopped completely - and I just did a video on that too - so check that out. Um, have you heard of amla oil and what are your thoughts? Yes, almond oil is amazing, um, it's very popular like in ayurvedic and Indian cultures. I know a lot of women who are Indian and their mom would oil their Scouts, since they were a little girl with amla oil. Um amla oil is pretty much a carrier oil. So it's not essential. It'S not like peppermint or Rosemary. It'S like a jojoba or grape seed, so you can use it on your scalp in your hair, which is great um. Now. What I understand about omelet oil is that it is known for strengthening the follicles, which is really interesting. You know so um. If you do experience chatting, this can also be something to add into your regimen. Maybe do like a hot oil treatment with amla oil. You know for extra moisture retention to soften the hair and also to reduce shedding as well so almond oil is It's pretty dope. Yeah all right, let's see um, I use ayurvedic oils as growth oils. When I make oh awesome um what can be used to loosen tight, curls, naturally ooh naturally well henna is known for loosening the curl pattern. I will say that um that did happen to me once like I, I used to do henna, like maybe four or five years ago, but after a while I just saw that it really didn't do much for my hair, like it wasn't that for me, um, but Hannah is known for loosening the curl pattern. There are some women who do like heat training. You know, like they heat train their hair to kind of get a looser pattern. I haven't done a video on that, but you can find a video on that on YouTube to kind of learn how to do that, but um between henna heat training. You could stretch your hair like see how my hair is like in a bun. You know, like I'm low-key, stretching my My Curls right now. I would imagine that if I leave this bun in my hair for a long period of time that might change the structure of My Curls now, of course, that's not scientifically proven. It might be. A temporary fix, but it won't be permanent, so um and, of course, there's texturizers, which is of course a chemical treatment, um same as relaxers, but it has a lower amount of um sodium hydroxide. So you have a few options. I would just say you know: if you want to do the natural option, then I would say: check out henna or the heat training. Okay, uh, let's see, is okay to use green tea, and if I miss your questions, just copy and paste it and just pop it back in there. Okay, is it okay to use green tea? That is mixed with ginger and lemon as a rinse um? That'S fine! That'S fine because most I mean the one I have is just straight up: green tea, of course, straight up green tea would be ideal what if it has like ginger and lemon that's completely fine! That'S completely fine. Does hair grow thicker before getting longer, oh yeah for sure for sure, and that's even happened to me before, like my hair, even though my hair has always been thick, I noticed that once I started really taking care of my hair, the density of my hair changed Completely and then with the thickness of it coming out of the scalp, the length came. So yes, that's definitely possible clay, Indian clay. What are your thoughts? Um, Indian clay, I've never heard of Indian clay, like what kind of is it like called Indian clay like? What'S the Indian clay tell me more about the Indian clay, but as far as like hair Clays, I think they're dope, I think rasool Clay is Bomb. Bentonite clay is Bomb. My favorite is raw sole clay because it has a high amount of silica in it. Um and it just softens the hair, like amazingly so, Russell's mine, my clay, my clay of choice. Okay, let's see here, I am singing again. If I want to do wait, if I want to have a one-on-one with you about my hair, how do I do that? So I haven't implemented one-on-ones, yet I'm still trying to figure out how I want to do that because, right now I do one-on-one, for you know, people who want to start hair care line. So that is what I currently have on my website. But as far as like one-on-one Hair Care consultations, I I'm trying to figure that out. You know, but in the meantime, that's why I have the the live q. A if you can. You know, ask your question. I can answer it, but I'll just say more to come more to come, because I want to make sure that I'm serving people, but I'm not like strapped for time. You know if that makes sense so more to come. Can you give a DIY recipe using Ginger oil yeah, a really a real easy one, um grape seed oil or jojoba oil or put the two together with the ginger oil? Get the essential oil like go to Whole Foods, get Ginger essential oil and all you really need is about like four or five drops like, because essential oils are so potent they're so powerful. You don't even need, like a bunch of that stuff like four to five drops, maybe six if you're feeling kind of frisky, you know and Shake It Up Put on your scalp you're good to go. That'S all you got to do, but yeah Ginger oil Ginger essential oil is what you want. Um Argan Oil. I think it's amazing. It'S a great carrier, oil, very luxurious oil. I think it's bomb great for the scalp and for the hair and for softening the hair thoughts on grease on the scalp. I think grease on the scalp is amazing. I don't recommend it for people for people who have like uh, overly active sebaceous glands like people who have really oily scalp. I don't recommend hair grease, but if you have like a dry to normal scalp hair grease is bomb and believe it or not. It'S non-communogenic. It does not clog the pores of your um, your pores call the pores of your pores hair grease does not clog the pores, the claw it doesn't clog. The pores on your scalp, Lord have mercy. You know what I mean. Okay, sorry, I'm done suggestions for frizziness. Yes, so your cuticles are lifted. You know your cuticles are lifted. You might have high porosity hair, but it's not always like 100. That'S the reason but um. If you have frizziness, you want to do a acidic rinse at the end of your wash day to seal those cuticles. What does that mean? Tanya? That means apple, cider, vinegar, rinses um. There is glycolic acid I've been kind of hesitant to talk about that because it's a thing, but it's not a thing, but ordinary I'll, just talk about it since it's like you know it's just it's just me and 202 of you guys. You know. Thank you guys for the likes by the way um ordinary has glycolic acid. I can't remember what percent I think. It'S like five percent or three percent. It'S a low amount but um I've seen some people talk about on Tick, Tock, how they use this on their hair. You know - and I did some research and I'm like hmm - that actually makes sense. You know like glycolic acid, on the cuticle at that three percent makes sense. So you know me I'm gon na try it out before I share anything with you guys and I tried it out and I'm like, oh God, it's like too fat. You know. So if you're feeling risky, you can try it use at your own discretion, okay, but I recommend apple, cider, vinegar, rinses, because that I know that I know I know I know the glycolic acid uh, you let your own risk, but I tried it and it wasn't Bad, but I still got to say, the acid rents, like apple cider, vinegar, is going to lay the cuticle down. So it's your hair is not as frizzy anymore. Now you may have to do this like once a month. You know to get your hair in the groove of it, but that I would recommend and then number two look for really good sealing oil like if you, if you have high Frosty hair you're, going to want more of a heavier sealant to lock in that moisture. But to also seal the cuticles, so they don't get all you know frizzy. So hopefully that helps okay um. Can you recommend a good heat protectant? Yes, anything with silicone girl. Silicones aren't a way to go. You know um Trader Joe's. If you have a Trader Joe's in your area, Trader Joe's has a really bomb. Um heat protect this like coconut oil, even though the coconut oil y'all is in there at like two percent, probably less than that, like one percent, but um, it's really really good. It'S like, I think, it's like heat protectant serum, but it's at Trader, Joe's um Fantasia icy, which you can find pretty much anywhere, makes a really good um heat, protect and spray and heat protected serum as well. So those will be like my top two, my top two okay, when is the best time to use ACV rinses in your wash day, routine um after you condition your hair after you condition your hair. So that can be your very very last step. Um rinse! It out, of course, sorry guys, I'm drinking sparkling water, so um, but yes, that'll, be like your very very last step when you do your ACV rinses, I like to fluctuate um like one week I'll do ACD rinse as my last step and then the next week, I'Ll do oil rinsing as my last step, but either way the whole goal of both of those is to seal the cuticle, because that's going to help tremendously with like really detangling your hair, how your hair is going to be managed throughout the rest of the week. You know because if you have a great wash day more than likely the that week is going to be a pretty good week, at least it should be. You know so that's why I make sure that my last step on my wash day in the shower involves some level of still in that cuticle, whether that's via oil or an acid foreign. Sorry, what are your thoughts on using the den Denman brush on your hair? Okay, so I had a denim brush before, but I couldn't get wooded because the bristles are so hard and I I'm not tender headed, but I'm like this ain't it. This is not it now we'll say this dimming brushes. Do they give you some amazing Crow definitions like your curls will be like this they're gon na be like this when you use the denim brush, they're gon na be so wavy, but I just couldn't get past past the fact that it was just so you know What I'm saying so for me, my go-to, is the what is it called cause cause I talked about in my last video, but it's like cause Cosmic. It'S not cosmetology. It'S like it's something with a K. Okay, it's at Target! Okay, if you type in like natural hair detangler, it's a blue comb in the the cones are like this thick super amazing and the second one I love is by wet, is literally called. The brand is called wet, w-e-t wet Eco brush. It has like the most flexible bristles and it just flows with my hair. So that's like my top two I've heard about the Leatherwood brush. I'Ve heard of that um ACV didn't work for me. Unless I'm doing it wrong or too much, I don't know it could be, it could be that it just doesn't work, you know for for your hair or it could be you added too much, so it could be between those two um. Usually, I recommend at least maybe a tablespoon you know of ACV to like two or three cups of water. You don't want to go overboard with the ACV. You know, because you don't want to throw the pH of your hair off um. Our hair is naturally between like a 4.5 and a 5.5. So if you bring your hair down to a two, I don't even know what would happen, but you don't want you don't want that. So you know it could be that you didn't do it right and that's okay, because you know DIY DIY recipes are kind of tricky like that or it could be your hair to stop compatible with ACD. You know and that's okay, and if that's the case, you know, incorporate all of the olive oil rinses to seal the cuticle as your last wash day step. Okay, let's see um someone just typed in brittle gray, hair. Okay, if you have brittle gray hair, you definitely want to up your deep conditioning, I would say: do a deep conditioner at least once a week or once every two weeks, that should help a lot and also incorporate hot oil treatments. You should start seeing a result like at least see a difference within the first two or three weeks: um. Okay, I'm trying to go back up to see what I missed um, let's see, is this helping you guys, please let me know if this live is helping. You guys and if you're learning some things, let me know: okay, I'm looking for questions. Thank you guys again for liking this video. This live. Yes, that's what it's called cosmology cosmology, that's what it's called in queue. I haven't washed my hair since two Sundays ago. Okay, well, it might be time might be time to wash your hair girl might be time. Um yeah, I used to wash my hair once a month, but that that that my hair was like girl bye. You need to wash me, I'm sorry, all right, it's helping! It'S helping thumbs up. Thank you guys. Okay, awesome. Some awesome, oh great question: do you recommend using tea tree oil at the beginning phase or throwing or at the shampoo phase, or throwing conditioning the shampoo for sure um? In my opinion, tea tree oil is for the scalp most essential oils, peppermint rosemary tea tree lemongrass is going to be more beneficial on the scalp than on the hair carrier. Oils like Argan jojoba, grape seed avocado coconut, are going to be more beneficial on the hair itself, so tea tree, a few little drops on your shampoo focus on the scalp will be ideal. Are silicones good for gray hair? Yes, silicones are great for all types of hair, I would say if you have thin hair, you may not want like a heavy silicone. You may want something like lighter, but not a heavy one mineral oil on the hair yeah. So that's a thing you know. I want to say: was it the pink pink lotion by lusters? I want to say that formula had mineral oil in it and, if you guys, remember pink lotion um, it felt very like not thick but like it had like that unique texture to it. That'S the mineral oil. You know, and I don't care what nobody say. You know that stuff helped a lot of people helped me back in the 90s. You know and that's because mineral oil is such an amazing sealant. It softens the hair, it locks in moisture um, and I want to say that one is also non-communogenic. It doesn't clog the pores of the scalp now if you are allergic to certain ingredients and then that's a different story but mineral oil on the hair. So it's fine! So if you find a a formula that has more oil in it, try it out see how your hair responds to it um, but for the most part, it's completely fine: okay, okay, okay, what are your thoughts on Sunny Isle, Jamaican black, castor oil? Pure butter um I've, never I've never seen the pure butter, I'm familiar with the oil, not the butter, but um. As far as that brand goes to my understanding, I haven't seen any red flags with that brand. Excuse me, which is good um and then number two. I would say: look at the reviews, so reviews, as you guys know, will tell you a lot about the product about the brand um. I always say four stars and up, if anything like in the tools, I would stay away from it honestly um, but if it has good ratings, you know give it a shot and see how your hair responds to it. I remember pink lotion yeah. That was a thing pink lotion and hair grease. What what? What'S your take on? Babasu oil babasu oil is a great pre-poo oil. I'Ve actually been using that a lot more than coconut oil. Recently I got ta get some more, but babasu oil is so rich um. It'S such a rich, a rich people, oil. I want to say it's high in lauric acid, which is the same thing: that's in coconut oil. So it gives it like that unique white, thick oil, texture um, but yeah, it's a great prefoo, great pre-poo and it's small enough to penetrate into the hair, which is what you want when you're doing a prefoo. I got ta stop doing that. What are your thoughts about monthly use of Revere? I like Revere, I haven't done a video on it, but your girl has been revering and I'm all right. It'S been a whole vibe, okay, um. I think it's dope. I think it's really dope a monthly use of Revere fine. I always but do do UV protecting. Even though it's not like a lot of heat you get, especially if you do it on the lowest setting you're fine, but um yeah, I'm fine Lou. He protected once a month, you're good, you're, good, you're, good you're, good k-18, so I've never used K18 I've heard of K18. I heard that it's very similar to olaplex in regards to like building back the bonds of the hair like damaged hair bonds are broken right and basically these Brands claim that their product can build it back. I do believe there is some level of yeah. That'S a thing it can totally happen. I believe that, but I have not seen a bond Builder that can Bond relaxed hair back to natural hair the day. I see that, oh, my goodness, if someone creates a product like that, where someone can go from relaxed back to their natural state, that's some serious Bond building um, but olaplex and k-18 are still great products. They do a great job, especially if you have like heat damage, um. Well, not severe heat damage, because you know he damaged a whole nother thing, but color damage. You know real, like damaged frizzy hair. You know from like just different things. It can definitely strengthen the hair but um, like I said I haven't seen anything that builds back relaxed hair. I did it again. Okay, I got ta stop doing that. I got ta. Stop it. It'S gon na become a habit. I saw a video, let's say: kinky hair can't be low porosity. What are your thoughts? I think that's not true. It'S not true um yeah, not true, not true, because most hair is going to be Pro like low porosity is going to be closed. It'S typically when we start doing things to it. You know that makes it rise up, but um for the most part, kinky hair can totally be low, porosity totally um. Let'S see any suggestions on thinning hair due to medication. Oh that's hard! That'S tough because I mean obviously it's the medication, that's thinning your hair and you have to take the medication you know. So you could attempt to. You know use like a topical hair growth, treatment or oil, but you don't know if the medication is going to override that you know I'm trying to say so. You kind of got ta play around with it and see what works um. It may be worth checking out like a trichologist in your area who understands the scalp, who can look at your scalp physically and see what's going on, but that really not really to see what's going on, but to see if they have any recommendations. In regards to this certain medication versus this treatment, like will it be compatible? So it's a tricky space anytime. We incorporate medication, you know because sometimes those things tend to override the things that we do for our hair. You know so I would say: take it one day at a time: um you can incorporate the green tea rinses. Of course you know see how your hair responds to that, but be very gentle with your hair. You know um no tight hairstyles, you know be careful when you're combing and brushing it make sure that you are. You know deep, conditioned moisturizing your hair, don't let it get dry or brittle, because that's only the breakage and you don't want any of those things. So I would just say just give it as much TLC as possible: tender loving care, okay, um! Oh, that was a good question where to go. Do you think lymph retention is possible with bleach blonde hair? I think it is, but you have to be careful because you know going blonde, you know you are it's a whole. It'S a full-blown chemical service and with that comes the raising of the cuticles, and when you come with that, it comes with compromising the proteins of the hair and the proteins of the hair, give the hair its integrity and when there is no integrity. That'S when the breakage comes, you know, so my advice to you is: if you haven't done it already before you go, you know blind, do a really really good protein treatment prior to the service. You know like really just be good to your hair prior to um, and then I would recommend doing um. I don't know if you're doing it yourself or if someone else is doing it, but they should use like a pH. I can't think of the name, but there's like a treatment where it brings the pH of the hair back down. It'S like a neutralizer, but it's something else. I can't think of it. But there is a product called row. I'M probably pronouncing it wrong with like r r o: u x, porosity control, it was a very popular product a few years ago, um, it's still popular, but it's not as popular, but that product will get your hair at the right. I think a storm is coming because my little phone told me is severe thunderstorm, but we're still going so it's okay. Can you guys see me? Okay, let me hold on guys. Let me put my blinds on hold on. I didn't forget your question. I'M coming back hold on put up these lines. Okay, is this better? It'S a little bit better, it's not the best, but it's a little bit better um! Yes, roll porosity control will get the hair back to where it needs to be porosity wise to help to seal that cuticle, so that it's not like you're losing protein um versus. If your cuticles were left lifted up so long story short that was kind of winded, but do a really good protection protein treatment before but then afterwards, you know be very careful. Do like a really good, deep conditioner! You may need to do some light protein treatments. After the service to maintain the hair's Integrity, but you got to be very careful and keep it moisturized, that's the biggest thing, keeping it moisturized and keeping it strong so that it doesn't break off. And you and you lose your length, that's what you don't want to do. Oh, that was a lot uh will tapins pull out slash damage your hair. They can. It depends on who's installing them too, and how they're doing it um. I know some people who had success with tapings and some who, like their hair, broke off completely even to the point of at the root you know, so you have to be very careful with tape-ins um and just make sure that whoever is going to install them. That they have a good track record, you know, and they know what they're doing. Okay, you were supposed to have bad thunderstorms here in Jersey, yeah, it's been it's been. It'S been raining a lot lately, even here in North Carolina. Okay, what time is it? Oh? Okay, we got a few more minutes. Y'All, we got a few more minutes. Okay, let's see what else? What else? Okay um? Have you heard of headbands and hair scarf, causing hair breakage around your edges and your neck? I think that's my current hair issue. It could it could definitely do that. Anything like rubbing against the hair, you know, can definitely cause breakage. So, if you're noticing that you may want to like limit the amount of time that you're using it or just cut it out completely um and then just kind of like focus on restoring the hair back before you start putting that style back on again. So I would just say, be careful, be really really careful um. Should you do a protein treatment before straightening your hair yeah hands down hands down when I got my hair um straightened a few months ago. The first thing I did before I went and sat in that in that lady's chair was: do a good old, apogee two-step treatment. That'S the first thing I did because I learned my lesson. I learned my lesson years ago. I got really bad heat damage and some of you guys might remember that I had heat damage, I mean My Curls were shot. They were shot okay, so yes, protein before um, which oil absorbs best in the hair without buildup, which oil is best for Infusion. So if you're saying infusion like um like herbal infusions, if so um olive oil is great grape seed is great. Um safflower is also great jojoba. Oil is great which oil absorbs best in the hair. So if you're talking about absorption like a b, then coconut Moral, Moral, babasu Palm kernel oil, add absorption, a d would be like jojoba grape seed, Olive avocado. Those just add here to the surface of the hair, whereas the coconut and the babasu, those AB a b absorb and two so they go past the cuticle. Hopefully that makes sense. Okay, would you say the discount codes again, I'm visually impaired and can't read what you posted in the chat? Yes, I can so for the so at the top. You guys will see my website um. So I have the curly girls guide for Hair Care ingredients and the natural hair care wisdom flashcard. These are great resources that you can have on your phone. So when you are at in the store, you can pull it out and look up these ingredients when you are trying to decide if you should buy these products and what she's referring to is the discount code that I shared earlier so for the curly girls guide To Hair Care ingredients which focuses on like your products like what's inside, of a shampoo what's inside, of a conditioner, what you should be looking for in a shampoo and a conditioner, a moisturizer hair, gel, a leave-in, Etc. That code is guide, g-u-i-d-e, 10. guide 10 and then I have the natural hair care with some flash cards, which is pretty much over 160 plus digital flash cards of pretty much any ingredient you can think of, but not only that I talk about low porosity, hair High porosity hair, deep conditioning, leave-in conditioning all of the things concerning your hair regimen, that code is wisdom, 10, so w-i-s-d-o-m, the number 10. That'S what that is. Thank you for asking that um up there. Okay, let's see um, I'm gon na answer a few more questions before I head out um, but before I answer those last questions, let me just say thank you guys again for you know being here and showing up on this live with me. It is literally about the pour down ring, so this is like perfect timing um, but thank you guys for liking this video. If we can get this video to 150 likes, that would be amazing. That would be super amazing we're at 122 if we can get it to 150. That would be amazing. Okay, let's see you're welcome. Sassy Brown you're welcome girl. Okay, let's see, can you do a video showing your wash day routine. You guys really want to watch their routine video from me for me, really. Let me turn some lights on, because I feel like I'm so like I'm like hold on one. Second, I need some lights in here. Like I'm struggling, I can barely see myself. I'M such a natural light person whoa, okay, it's much better, I'm so silly y'all, so silly I should. I should have. Did the video with this lighting? That'S okay! Next time, um yeah yeah! Well, I'm not! I want to wash day routine for me. Okay! Yes, yes, okay, okay, I got ta figure that out. Okay. I can do that. Write that down on my little my little list here wash say rule thing, washed everything. Okay, I got you. I got you what is in this sparkling water, I'm getting I'm getting a little by the way, I'm drinking this. For those who are curious, Waterloo, watermelon, I'm in the sparkling water, I don't. I use okay, I'm gon na go back to your questions like one. Second. Moving down to the South literally got me hooked on sweet tea like there's a there's, a restaurant down here called um. What'S it called Smithfield you ever heard of Smithfield before they got like hush puppies and they got chicken and they got potato salad and they got all the things and they got some bomb sweet tea. And it's like two dollars and it's like a big old thing. So I'm trying to wean myself off for the carbs y'all, I'm trying it's not easy, but we're doing it we're doing it! Okay, because winter bodies are made in the summer; okay, I'm getting silly! Now: okay, okay! What'S next um amazing, a few more questions um out? Okay, Mariah Barrow, my roots are dry girl why your roots are dry. Okay, yours are dry. So what's what you want to do? Here'S my little tip - and I said this before - but I'm gon na - keep saying it because it's so the best thing since sliced bread, bread, I can't even have bread, y'all, low, carb, okay, I digress back to the thing, because now I'm getting silly um the next Time you wash her hair okay, when your hair is and your hair is wet, get an oil, get a hair grease and put that oil on your scalp, like literally like oil, and just go like that, because what you're doing is you are physically locking in all That moisture your shower day, your wash day, is your maximum moisture day. That is the one day. That'S your hair and your sap is going to receive the most amount of moisture, take advantage of it y'all and get them oils on the scalp on the hair, lock. It in okay um throughout the week, if you have a dry, scalp or even dry Roots, get you some pattern. Beauty, scalp, serum mine is upstairs um, but pattern. Beauty, scalp Serum is literally juicy moisture serum in a bottle. Okay and you can put that on your scalp, but also you can put on your roots too and massage it in you know. So, that's my recommendation. Um and I haven't forgot. I got some products here. I want to share with you guys before I hop off. Okay, maybe I can do like two more questions, two or three more questions: Cactus oil, I've heard of prickly pear oil, which is Cactus oil. I haven't tried it, but I really want to try it, but I've heard great things about it. I was in St Thomas, which is a beautiful Island by the way a few years ago, and this lady was telling me like you - should try prickly, pear oil, because I because they, you know they they have Cactus and Prickly, Pear and so much aloe. Oh, my gosh, they have so much aloe in St Thomas and St John, and she was telling me prickly. Pear oil is amazing for the hair I should have got some while I was there, but prickly pear oil is, is pretty dope pretty dope. Okay, let's see um well green tea, well, green and clove tea mix to mix together help the hair um. I don't see why not? You know, I don't see. Why not, I think something like that, because they're both great for the scalp and the hair combined together. You may get like some really cool synergistic results going on. You know what I'm saying so. Definitely try it out. Definitely try it out. Oh we got to 150 likes you guys. Can we do 200 is 200 possible? Can we do 200 likes? Oh my God. If we do 200 likes, I'm gon na give you guys a wash day routine video, I'm gon na, give you guys a wash day, routine video and it's gon na be dope from start to finish, if you get 200, I mean I'm gon na give you good.

My curl pattern has become loser than I like. This Salve has saved my curls. My curls bounced back when I use it. It works on 3 bonds in the hair. Olapex only works on 2 bonds. I had heat damage, but when I use this salve, on my curls they got tighter. My hair also started thickening up after I started using the Rehab Salve. I think it is pretty good stuff.
