Cantu -VS- Shea Moisture | Curly Hair Products
As you saw these products were a complete FLOP for MY hair type on their own, I would only use them as a leave-in and use a gel on top. But if I had to choose ONE cream product that works for my FRIZZY hair I would go with the Marc Anthony Curl Cream, Its Bomb and I get 5-day hair out of it!
I've tried these creams all kinds of ways and applying a generous amount if I'm applying them alone makes them work better for me than applying less. My hair is like a sponge, applying less is like applying nothing at all. You do what works best for your hair.

Hi YouTube isn't Mahdi's welcome back to my channel in this video. I am going to be doing another product comparison, video, another versus video and the two products that I'm going to be. Comparing today are these two right here. This one is the Cantu shea butter for a natural hair, coconut curling cream, and this one I'm sure everybody is very familiar with. I'M sure you guys are some of you with both of these, but this one is V: Shea Moisture, coconut and hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie. Now I purchased both of these at Walmart, this one retails for 597, and this one we known for 1198, so this one's pretty much double the price of this one. Now I've used this one before when my hair was transitioning. I don't remember if I've ever tried. This one but the Shea Moisture one has 12 ounces and so does the cancel one. So they are both 12 ounces. But this one is pretty much double the price. Then the cancel product. So I'm going to split my hair down the middle. My right side, I'm going to my shampoo and then on my left side and one supply the Shea Moisture, enhancing smoothie and then we're going to be how they work and if there's any differences between the tool to walk. Today now I have to say that I don't really use creams anymore in my hair, because I have it's really frizzy, so I found that not all creams really help define my quiz and really define my curls. So I used to love, love love using the product. When I was transitioning, I will post pictures around here. I still have to do my hair journey transitioning video. I am going to do that this year and hopefully really soon, but when I was transitioning. This is what I used to use and it works amazing for my hair, but my hair wasn't as frizzy or as big as it is now, so I haven't used in a couple of years, so I'm pretty interested and curious to see how this is going to Close up and this one as well, because I don't remember if I've ever used this product so on the website and purchase both up in from Walmart. So on. The Walmart website for the Kansas Patterson says this product of mine president and as manageability to your curls. Leaving the South shiny and DC moisturize made with 100 % pure shea butter and formulated without harsh ingredients and so for natural hair, restores your real ethnic beauty and for the Shea Moisture product. The website says shea moisture, coconut and hibiscus curl, enhancing smoothie defines curls, reduces frizz and smooth hair for soft silky field. It restores moisture, creates brilliant shine and conditions without weighing down your hair for a bouncy, healthy look. Now these are both clean products, but the consistency are not the same. The Cantu one is a little bit softer and creamier, and the Shea Moisture is a little on the thicker side. So the consistency is a little bit different for bowling. So I've already washed my hair, it's getting a little dry, so as always, I'm going to darken it a little bit just to get a more wet. I'M going to. I think I'm going to like a side part today and then we're going to just add the products and see the results. So, let's get started, move the car now the same way. Sure enhancing 20 feels a lot thicker on my hair and, as you can see, is creating a cat, but the white half may be discontinued, but the white cast will go away and especially with cream products. I like to apply a lot of it because my hair is really thick and frizzy, so I do apply a lot fun, but you can apply as much or as little as you want, depending on your hair type. You know feels really probably heavy, but yeah I mean it feels a little heavy. You feel sick, you know, so I think I have enough product on there. I applied a lot of my roots and a lot of my hands because my Envy dry now going to have all of the shea moisture products on this side of my hair. I'M going to go ahead and finger coil same thing same drill. I do this all the time I'm going to go ahead and finger coil and start on the right side. I love the way this smells by the way smells so good. Now. The only problem I think I'm going to have is that I have been working out. Finally, and I have to go to CrossFit in a few hours, but I really don't know how these cream products are going to hold up in my hair. I think I'm going to leave my hair finger coils until tomorrow morning and then tomorrow morning and we'll come back and undo the finger coils and show you guys the results. I will show you guys the results once the hair dries and well, but I'm not going to undo the finger coil until tomorrow. Just because I want my hair to close off during the workout - and you know so we'll see and on this one, the old lightweight. It feels a lot lighter on my hair than the Shea Moisture woody. But the real test is going to come once for your dry, that we want to see how it maintains my friends, let me take intensity, but I have unlove with a lot of flyways okay, so this is my hair. For now I am going to let my hair dry for several hours and then I'm going to come back and show you guys how we hey guys. So it's only been about an hour, but I'm back really quickly, because I wanted to show you guys some of these white metal flakes that I am getting on the cancel side and I review. I did like another comparison video before like month ago and it was another Cantu product and I have the same issue when it comes to the breakage. So I didn't think it was going to happen with this product because it's a queen, but it's happening again. I'M getting like these flakes and my hair is still wet. It'S not even totally dry. Let me show you even and I've had it. It was like all this was full of the Greeks and their slate they're, not even like it's, not the Queen. That has to blend it. You know love it together, so that they can go away. Hope you guys hope you can help. I don't know why that keeps happening with all of the casual products that I should try now so yeah I mean that's it for now. Just a real quick update - and I will be back when my hair is done - welcome to day 2. I just let my hair down, I haven't holiday or anything. Someone is always funny, but, as you can see, they never forgets himself, but I definitely notice the difference between the two sides. This is of the cancel side, and this is the Shea Moisture side. Gigi is almost the difference between this side and I I know that's a different last night, but I didn't have time to come back on camera, but the cancel side to me looks a lot more defined than the Shea Moisture part. The Shea Moisture side has a lot of puffiness. I guess you can say things like we're here. Just this has a lot more convenient than this nice. This side looks more defined and my friend looks a little bit more controlled on the cancel side than on the Shea Moisture side. So that is what that's the only thing I pretty much noticed between the two I'm going to go ahead and what my hand in a bit apply a little bit more product just to get rid of the flyaways and I'm going to undo the twisties. The finger quotes that I do and I will be right back. Okay, I'm not going on your person verified with the way my hair is turning out, but I'm just going to keep on movin, keep a truckin and I'm just going to go ahead and take a little bit of the Shea Moisture just to kind of do the Same thing on this side, the fine might grows a little bit and just undo the fingerboard okay, so I am 100 % done. That'S kind of like fixing up my hair and I could definitely show a difference between the two they might make my hair straight down. The middle straight down the middle there's, even a difference than feeling like the cancel side, as you can see, is a lot shorter and the SheaMoisture side. It'S a lot longer. So that means that the right side is definitely holding up my curls more and giving my hair more definition. Here'S a quick look at the back side as to what a shame, oyster side really isn't giving me a lot of definition, which is why maybe my hair just looks puffy for poppier than this side. It'S not really holding up my hair and defining microbes. A lot of things so far on day two, I am liking the cancel side, 100 % more than be Shea moistures eyes. They both feel nice and soft. The Shea Moisture side does feel a little softer and looser, but when it comes to a parent, they both yourself, they both smell good but because the chemical side is definitely defining my curls a lot more. In my opinion and reducing my friends a lot more then distinguish your side. I am going with the cancel side for sure, so I think those are my thoughts for day two. We will be back tomorrow, or I will be back tomorrow and we'll see how my hair looks coming through. So it is a three, and this is what we're working with this is. This is a hot mess. My hair is a hot mess. It is so freakin, frizzy and puffy. It is has like no definition on both sides on both sides, and it's like weighed down. I have my no fullness. No like nothing is contained right now, like these products are really good products. If you do not have really apt hair, like mine, I mean I'm watching matter tonight, because today's ready and I want to have like I want my hair to be on point for the weekend. You know, but I would I just if you have hair like mine. I definitely wouldn't recommend these products on their own. Now. You can definitely use these the really good products I mean you can use it as a base and then like a pending product on top, but to use them by themselves. If you hear it, Rizzi like mine and very thick, this sweet just isn't going to cut it. In my opinion, again, everybody's hair is different. So what for me personally these these just this, do it. For me, I mean by second day hair. My hair was already starting to frizz and it had like poofy spots. I mean look at the fast I mean. Can you tell em you see? This is just this. Is my Q, not Q? It'S just it's getting tangled. It'S getting super tangle, it's super. I mean. I look like I just woke up and got out of bed and I'm in it to flex bison I've been outside running errands all day with my hair. Looking like this, it's alright, though, but I think I try to pull this in the morning, but it looks just as bad in the morning like it'll. Look any better. You know I just try to fix the flyaways in the morning, but, as you can see, everything just came right back, it's super puffy. I definitely I mean I will never reuse these products again find themselves. This is the reason why I haven't used, especially this one, because this is the one I used to love and use all the time, and now I remember why I stopped using it it's a good product, like I said, I'm going to be wrong, but it's not And no longer, they cannot keep up with my hair anymore, like it used to you know. So if you want to apply the products like, I said, and then collective gel on top to see you everything, I think that would be great. But if you have really thick hair these by themselves, I don't think they will do anything for you when it comes to, like definition and just defining your curls, with this definition and like maintaining your frizz, it's just I mean it doesn't for me. So if you have my hair type and might mentor for you either, however, be wide of the video, I don't care to cream products that I use that I do love that to define my curls and do control work with and the first one is this product Right here is really really good: it is a cream product cream consistently, and this is the more density high, including coconut oil and shea butter, curl, cream and other product says that it eliminates frizz and defined curls with venture holes and shine. This is what it looks like, and it does everything that is said. So if you someone who you are trying to stay away from gel, because if you do use a lot of gel, it can cause you here to break, especially in the front. Thank you. Baby hair they can cause breakage. So if you want to take a break from gel and start using a cream, this was really good. I use this one by itself and it is really really good. I did a video on it. I will make it if you guys want to check it out, but it leaves your curls. We define and really rich green. It really controls the frizz. So this is a really good cream as you're, never looking for a cream alternative. The second one I have is from Kanto - and this is the n2 shea butter for natural hair moisturizing twist and lock stuff. Now this one I really really like. This is also a cream consistency, but it's like it's like a cream and a gel mixed together and it's really really thick. Maybe you guys can see that, but it's and to really think so. This is the second product that I would recommend and you're trying to do more of clean styling products, but it I better switch it up. I definitely recommend these two. I think you would like these any hair with stimulus, mind, but that's pretty much it. I don't think I have any other green products that I like this, that really works for my hair. You know, but definitely I mean these were a complete small. Unfortunately, for my hair type I mean no change for the company. I love these. I love the run. Both of these brands, of course, because I still continue to purchase other products on these brands that work for me, but the creams alone are a no-go in my opinion, but that is it for this video. I hope you guys found it helpful. I have to go home freshen up now and fix this hair because it's not cute, it's not cute at all Synnex, but that is it for this video. ee: Personally, Cantu did horrible on my hair. (I’m specifically talking about the styler gel) it was super sticky and dry!! Shea moisture did so well on my hair it gave it volume and moisturize it well. Shea moisture is the one :)

But there has always been apart of me that wants to try other affordable curly hair products. Whitney Ann Romeo: The white flakes that you're seeing, the Cantu probably didn't agree with the product you used to wash your hair! It happened to me when I used to use that Cantu cream. I had to stop... It never played nice with other conditioners.

blukatdiamond: I am mixed with high-porosity, medium density, dry 3a/3b curls and I find that Cantu messes up my hair by drying it out and making my hair feel crunchy and heavy whereas shea moisture does the opposite by defining my curls and making it feel super soft

Raquel Contigo: The shea moisture smoothie is so thick it weighs my hair down so I don't use it much, instead I switched to the curl and style milk from the same coconut and hibiscus line. I bought the marc anthony product from your recommendation. I really like it and use it as a styler. It's reminds me of the mixed chicks leave -in which I love. I always use a styler after the leave in because my hair is frizzy like yours and the leave in alone will not tame the frizzyness. What are your go to products when you want your curls to be perfect?

ava c: I used to use Shea moisture. I would only use there products, including the Curl Enhanningg smoothie. I felt like there line, would keep my hair dry, and not give it moisture like the name. I’ve then switched to Cantu and love it! So affordable and nice. Great buy

I use hair spray if and when I use cream products bc I have the same frizz problem too. EvE(itsnotthatserious): For my hair (2c - 3a and not half as thick as yours) Cantu works very well. However I have to use less (duh, less hair) but also I sometimes have to work it in with more water. I find I don't get flakes. I do add either a light gel or mousse to get more hold. If I don't, my curls might start to stretch out and I will only get waves instead of curls.

Danielle B: New subscriber here. I have 3b curls just like you, and I hate frizz as well. Try Cantu's Curl Activator with their Define and Shine Custard. Your curls will definitely be super defined, and shiny. You'll get days out of it. One word of advice though..once your hair is completely dry, scrunch out your curls. They will dry hard but once you scrunch them out, they will be super soft.

Kimdrede1: You also abused the Cantu way way too much and like I said in my previous post you need a gel or a custard on top to hold it and to trap that moisture in.. these products work awesome with the LOC method ( Leav-in oil cream) with these products I would use for either Step 1 or step 2 for that method

Marleen G.: I am almost 3a, and I use far less cream and top it off with gel. Just a coinsize for my entire head, both of the cream and the gel. Otherwise my hair gets far too weighed down. I have fine hair, BTW, but *lots* of it!

Anna Hatori: Lots of Deva Curl comments, yuck. Any conditioner you aren't supposed to rinse out because it will leave your hair dry as STRAW if you do: no thanks. Wasted a lot of money on that devacurl garbage. I think if you can get away with using devacurl you can probably get away with using any cheap hair products.
