Hi, welcome to my channel is naturally Timmy and today I wanted to give you guys a step-by-step on how I grew my hair. Now this is one of my most requested video and I do have two other videos on it. I think I have three actually, but I wanted to go ahead and demonstrate some of the steps that I talk about as I'm talking about it. So a little background, as you guys know, I've been natural for about five years, so this is just going to be. You know how I grew my hair natural in the course of five years. First things first and there is no way to grow. Your hair super super super fast, and I feel like you that say, you know how to grow. Your hair super fast are just like just clickbait, because there's no way to grow your hair fast. Like it's about patience, everybody has pros at a certain rate and it's funny about retaining the length now. Patience is key in this journey in a journey, patience is key. So natural hair journey is no exceptions if you are not patient, while going on this journey, you'll find yourself extremely frustrated. Yes, let's get started so first, I want to talk about the tips that I cannot demonstrate. Just you know I can talk about so tip number. One would be have a consistent regimen, I don't know how many times I have gotten an email and they talk about how the hair is like hard, how their hair is not growing its breaking, and I ask them well, what is your regimen and they tell me That they don't have a regimen so of hair. Regimen is very, very, very important to your hair journey, especially keeping a consistent hair regimen. So it's not about just having a regiment it's about being consistent at that regimen, because that ensures growth. That was surest retaining length and a hair regimen that works for you. So not just anybody. Hair regimen, like you, can't I don't recommend you go look at somebody on youtubes, hair regimen and be like that's gon na, be my exact regimen, because their regimen not may not work for you at all. So it's very very important to try products out for yourself and then incorporate those products that do work into your regimens tip number two, and I know this is hard to do as we all do it, comparing ourselves so a lot of times. People are comparing their hair journey with somebody else's hair journey they're, comparing their hair type to somebody else's hair type. I know that a lot of us when we first went natural. We thought we were gon na have the loose curls and we ended up with kinky curls and it because it wasn't what we saw or will be won or will be expected. We tend to not even want our own hair and in not loving your hair you're. Not even ready to like try to figure out how to maintain your hair, because you're so worried about comparing yourself and using somebody else's regimen, and things like that that you aren't doing anything, that's going to help your own hair grow. So you have to learn to love your own hair and you cannot compare yourself to other people so now I'm going to start with the tutorial. Basically - and the first thing that I do is I section my hair before washing. If your hair is not long enough to be sectioned, then you can skip this tip, but sectioning for me, for a medium to long, hair is very, very important because it ensures that tangles do not keep on tangled up on top of each other. It takes a lot of stress off of you and it takes a lot of stress off of your strands because when you detangle you'll find that you know, if you do not section you'll be detangling the same section over and over and over over again, because they Keep on tangling back on top of each other, so sectioning, your hair. You cut the time that it's gon na take to detangle, because you'll just detangle a section and twist it up. These hang go another section and twist it up and it'll make sure that the hair that is already detangle is away from the hair. That is tangled, so make sense. Yeah use more water when we're washing your hair, and this is just opens up the cuticles for your hair and then, when you're finished, with the washing process. Just do a final rinse with cool water. Just so that you can close the cuticles up and closing the cuticles up, you're, also still in the moisture and making sure that no dirt gets inside of your cuticles, so yeah. The next tip is shampoo is important, but it does not have to be done every week because we don't want shampoos to be so stripping in our hair. Shampoo is good to give excess buildup in our hair excess residue out of our hair. So it's not something that you need to do every week for me, I would recommend doing it twice a month, especially if you're somebody with kinky hair that struggles with moisture definitely not every week. You want to shampoo your hair. If you feel like you know, you want to wash your hair or you have a little bit of build-up, you can always use a cleansing, co wash and that just helps keep moisture inside your head and it's not a stripping as a shampoo, but I also will Get the job done, so I do recommend in-between your shampoos that you're doing twice a month that you do Co wash the other week. So I wash my hair every week and that's how I do it like. I co wash twice a month and then I will also shampoo twice a month. Not only am i showing you guys, my hair, my entire hair regimen from wash day, but I'm also showing you guys the products that I use that are my staple products now, as you can see, I mix and match a lot of these products up and a Lot of times, I don't really like doing that so much but, like I said, like these products work very, very, very, very well for my hair, but a lot of times when you get product the lines are formulated to work with each other. So if you want to try brand by brands to see which line works for you, then I would recommend doing that, but these are the products that I pick from different lines that work very, very well on my hair. So this particular shampoo is a strengthening shampoo but, like I said, that's for kinky hair, I do recommend buying a moisturizing shampoo. Now the reason I'm using this strengthening shampoo, it's because it's not that stripping to your hair. It'S like it feels kind of like a cold wash, so it does leave moisture still in your hair and it's not as stripping, but it's a strengthening shampoo. I would recommend getting something that is a moisturizing shampoo if you struggle with really really weak dry hair. So what I'm doing now is I'm getting ready to detangle my hair, and what I am going to do is use my Holy Grail, the Tresemme, moisture, rich conditioner. It has a whole whole bunch of slip. You want a product with a whole lot of slip to really really take out those tangles and make it easier for you to run your hand through those tangles and also fingering finger. Detangling is the best detangling method. In my opinion, it has worked for me. I have finger detangle since I've been natural, and that is one of the reasons why I feel like I haven't been able to retain length when you figure detangle, you can feel those tangles that are in your hair. You can gently remove it, whereas, if you're brushing your hair you're going to brush all the whole nut out, which is not even a single, it's just gon na break the hair off, and so I really really recommend finger detangling, it's important to finger detangle, while your Head is trenching, wet a whole bunch of water like entrench and water and a whole lot of conditioner with a whole lot of slip, and that will make the detangling process so much easier for you, but make sure that your conditioner has a lot of slip. Because I tried conditioner that didn't have as much slip as this Tresemme one and it took a very very long time to detangle and in fact I never even finished the tangle with it. I will just sing my Tresemme and just detangle on top of this. So after conditioning a noun be conditioned, so I condition just like you know. I use the conditioner as a detangler, so I used that to detangle. Then I use the condition to really light penetrate the moisture into my hair and what I'm using is my Holy Grail, favorite, favorite, deep conditioner and that's the deep conditioner by la Naturals. I absolutely love this deep conditioner because it makes my hair feel like clouds. I said that in my last video, because it was one of my favorites of 2000 17, but it makes my hair feel very, very good and I get a whole bunch of moisture into my hair when I use this and my hair is extremely extremely soft and Manageable, so I will recommend that you try it if you have it so since I previously detangle my hair, there's no reason why I need to detangle in my detangle my hair, for this process when it comes to deep conditioner, I just go ahead and slap it On rub it in and put my hair in the ponytail and then put a plastic bag over my hair. So I just like to let it do its own thing in my hair and just wait for an hour. But you cannot wait for an hour and you have somewhere to go or you just don't feel like waiting. You can always sit under the dryer for 20 minutes and that will open your pores up and let the product distribute faster. Then you're ready to go and wash your hair cool water so that you can seal the moisture that the deep conditioner already put in your hair. Like I said, I don't really put too much heat on my hair, barely any at all, so I don't sit under the dryer for this process. I just better do its own thing and just do what I need to do for the next hour and then I come back and then yeah. My curls are looking like this they're looking poppin they're, looking amazing. So when it's out of my hair, I use Gachet oil and if you guys have been following me on YouTube or watch my videos from a while ago. You guys know that I'm raving about this product, it is very good with moisture. So this this whole video is really how to just - I guess, like retain moisture as well like how to keep moisture in your hair as well. I would let a lot of my 4c friends use this product and they always said that their hair was moisturized for a couple more days than it usually is or I'm using this product. So I use this as a leave-in and it's amazing. It'S in my hair. Now and my hair feels so amazing, like I don't even know why I'm still surprised at this point like my hair, it feels so good. So if you have a problem with dry hair, this, this regimen will be good for you and this product, a specific product. Will be amazing so now getting ready to style. My hair, I make sure that I finger part my hair a lot of times. I fingered that part as well, just because I'm to pick it out anyway, so I don't need the parts to be perfect at all. So, just being a part that minimizes breakage as well - and then I use my detangling brush, this detangling brush is from texture Pro it's one of my favorite brushes. A lot of you guys have asked me what my own, what is the brush start using? Basically, all my videos - and these are the brushes - is the textured pro brush. I have it in this color and I also have it in pink, so I really really love this brush for detangling and I don't try to do too much detangling. I went on Bob to style my hair, I just add more water just to make it detangle a lot better when I'm brushing it through, and I start from the bottom and then I work my way up. I don't do too much. I don't need throw road detangling. I just need some detangling, where I can be able to style my hair and most of my hairstyles are on wet hair just because once my hair is already dry and I try to create a new style on it, it's already tangled up - and it's already like Dry, so it's already hard to part through it's just it's just it's just a mess, so I keep that to a minimum. I know I've done some Styles I'll show you some styles on dry, hair, wet hair is definitely my go-to when it comes to styling. My hair, just because it's already detangled and it's just way more easier to get your hands through it and systolic. This is how my hair came out. I waited four days after I put those two combs in my hair. You don't want to wait four days. You can sit on a try like I'm, so tired of people being like you wait four days like how you go out four days. I can never do four days. I can never do four days. You don't have to do four days baby. You ain't got to do four days if Sun and driving for two hours and overnight it and it'll be fine the next day, so you don't have to do what I do you not have to do. Four days like I do like I said, I'm I'm an air dryer. I don't like putting so much heat in my hair. I know that we have work. I know that we have things to do where it's not realistic, to wait those many days, but I'm just a hair blogger and not only that I'm an introvert, so I'm always in the house so yeah I don't have a problem waiting for days. Hair feels so moisturized as I was taking my hair out. I can feel the moisture into my hair. So yes, so this is the regimen of how I get my hair, who you know, grow how I've gotten it to grow on. I think it's pretty simple but yeah. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. Let me know if you guys want a part too. I think I have a couple of more things that I have not mentioned but yeah. I think that is all for now and yeah. Thank you guys. So much for watching and I'll see you guys in my next video bye,

SiS SiS: Single father watching to help my daughters hair

ANGUILLA20: Unfortunately a lot of people go natural hoping to having type 3 hair and forget the point of the natural hair movement which is embracing, learning, and loving your natural hair no matter the texture. I have even heard a woman say I don't have the hair to go natural.

Terrazas Victim: Finally! Someone who focuses on the fact that 4b/4c hair can take YEARS to appear long when it’s curly. I just reached my 5th year of being heat free, dye feee, and relaxer free, and only now have my curls finally touched my back; although, when it’s straight it’s to my butt now! Still, even that took 5 years. Patience is everything.

abracadabra: I agree that a lot of people go natural expecting to have type 3 hair. It's really important that people learn to work with and not against your hair texture and porosity. 4a/4b/4c are all beautiful and capable of so many styles, we need to celebrate the diversity in our community and help remove the stigmas that come with more tightly coiled hair. black is beautiful, I wish more black men and women (esp in the US) embraced what makes us beautiful.

D T: I LOVE how black women are so supportive of each other on these hair tutorials. I Just we were this supportive when on the job at when we are not online!! Guys get smart we are stronger UNITED everywhere!!!

Sonya Jones: You are not "just" a blogger. You're an inspiration and assistance to lots of us. Thank you.

Ifeyinwa: 7 years since my last relaxer but incredibly inconsistent so I haven’t been able to retain length. We have a similar texture and density (I think lol) So I’m using your videos to reset my mind, get my act together and I’m excited to see my hair grow! Thanks Temi x

Dr. Emory Carl Sims: Your hair is beautiful.  I think the biggest problem that black women have is that oftentimes it is hard to find someone who really knows black hair.  Even licensed hair stylish may not know hair as much as you.

Felicia Allen: I went natural and I grew my hair from 2 inch to 16 inches in 7 months.  I am glad that you  mentioned to the viewers to not compare their hair to others because everyone's hair is different due to heredity and grows at different paces.  What worked for me was just to shampoo, condition and wear protective styles.

shanyha richardson: I love the part when you spoke about loving your hair,it seems as if everyone wants type 1-3 hair and no one wants type 4,me being a 4c girl not only is that hurtful but sad im still happy you spoke on it.

Tonia Grant: I love my hair thank goodness I’ve never compared my long thick hair to anyone else hair period that’s is so true what you said about comparing! FYI your curls are popping

naturalbeyouty: Your 'you don't have to wait 4 days  baby, I'm a hair blogger and an introvert so I'm in the house all the time' comment was priceless. I feel you - I'm an introvert too. Your honesty... your beauty... you don't even know how adorable you are.

Jae's Place: So glad I came across this video. You laid it out so simply that I feel like it's accessible to me. Your hair is gorgeous!

MzLovely Char: ME&TEA ENT thanks girl!!! This video is definitely what I was looking for. We have the same type of hair! Mines is always dry This video gave me so much info and I can’t wait to try your regimen

Amy Nya: I hardly comment . But damm your hair is THE NATURAL HAIR GOAL right there . I can’t wait for my hair to grow like your hair .

Sharun Jones: This video was helpful. I love your honest feedback about your hair journey. Most people do compare, and that's not good. Great advice. Stop comparing your journey to someone else.

Bre Lawrence: Great tips!! A lot of what you do is what I follow in my regimen. Your hair has so much body (goals) one of my favorite detangling brush is by Felicia Leatherwood. It’s awesome for type 4 hair and reallllly cuts down on pulled hairs. I gave my whole Denman brush and texture pro brush away. You should try it!

Ttwishytt: Oh yes. Getting ready to get each of those products now. I’m struggling with moisture retention. And you are gorgeous! Thank you!!!!

Isimeme Edeko: I adore your hair girl + you're beautiful!! You & your hair were a match made in heaven lol

Te'Keya Krystal: thank you for starting this video off with honesty ! there's no true way to make hair come out of your scalp faster than what your genetics allow it to grow . the key to longer lengths is *retention*

Tee No: Subscribed as soon as you said "there is no way to grow your hair fast." I never understand why people mislead others with that bullshit. It takes TIME! Thank you for this video. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! And so are you.

Blackberry Brambles: I wanted to say thank you SO much for these types of videos! Every time I see black ladies with their natural hair it makes me feel so happy - I love your hair, its very beautiful and full of life <3

Ronnie Mat: I love my kinky hair (mix of 4 hair type), fine, high porosity and middle density. I've been using natural products which have had a positive impact on my hair. Like you've said one way doesn't fit all. Loving you're video, very informative.

mental passion81: I am so glad YouTube recommended this channel. I love your videos. Very inspiring, very in tune with natural styles. Thank you so much ❤

Karin Morris: Beautiful Black hair!! Love ❤️ the embracing of our hair type in this video. This is great! You and your hair are Beautiful and this video is very encouraging. Thank you! ❤️

Bethel Samson: i'm going natural in 2019. i've never felt so free in my life

Kayla Jones: Enjoyed your video! Thank you for really breaking it down & showing how you use each product. Question: Do you always use a conditioner to detangle or do you feel it’s okay if this step is skipped & go straight to a deep conditioner?

Natasha Brannum: I love the message about loving your own hair and your own hair texture❤️

Kphil62609: I love your hair. I'm also a type 4 naturalist. Such a great inspiration. I'm loving it!!!!!!!

Tee johnson: Great video, this has helped me so much. My hair is always breaking and I've come to the conclusion that it's time that breaks my hair so much. I don't put enough time aside to take care of my hair during the week. Plus it's good to see another Temi

Nakeita Grier: Your hair is so beautiful and healthy!!! I need to do better with mines! Great tips! Consistency consistency consistency is definitely the key.

Flatbedladyv: You naturl ladies are helping me steer the course..its 7 mths and for the first 6 i washed and tied my hair down, dry, matted, brittle, but since ive been hunkered down i have been washing and moisturizing with steam oil and tgin , so far my hair has been soft & managable....i now have about 1-2 inches now....its different after 30 yrs of relaxing

Just Be U Neik: Great tips. I think the longer you wait before the take down the better twist/braid out you get. I like to leave my flat twists in for 2 full days now. If I plan on going outside I just tie a scarf on my hair. If I decide to use my bonnet hooded dryer I only use it at a cool/low temperature setting.

Gaby K: I was shocked at how I thought my curl pattern would change or wasn't right. Now I'm ok with my 4c hair.

isis murray: Video was so amazing and encouraging. I have shirt 4c thick hair. I live my hair and truly want to embrace it. However, I had someone tell me that I look hard with my natural hair. Right now it is a protective style due to the weather. Watching this video made me embrace me and not want to hide what God has given me.

Aida Williams: New hair girl crush! My hair gets super dry by day 3 if I put it up. I’m going to try this out and keep you posted. Best part about it, since the Stay at Home order best believe I’m holding out 4 days with my 2 braids Lolol thanks sis

Lay Johnson TV: Finally, a natural hair YouTuber with my hair texture thank you for sharing this!

Williams J: Your hair looks beautiful. Part 2 yassss! ❤

T C: You are beautiful and your hair is beautiful. Thanks for such a great video. I really like how you incorporated the steps within the video. I have EXTREMELY kinky hair and I love seeing videos with my same hair type. And the comment about how we thought we'd have loose curls? spot. On.

Helene Monica: When i embraced my natural hair yes i thought that i would have curles and all that , i ended up with kinky hair , and i just told myself God gave me such hair and i will love it even more !

Bianca Harris: Hello! Love your hair and your video. I wanted to ask your opinion ( and anyone else that may see this) I have long kinky/curly hair and when my hair is out of braids I like to do wash and gos because in my going natural journey it was important to me to see and show my natural hair in its natural form and being okay that it wasn't the soft curls that I saw. I know that wash and go is prone to naughts and single strand naughts, but do you think it is very harmful to my hairs health/potential retention of length? Sorry for the lengthy question. Thank you! Best wishes, Bianca

Sabrina M: Thank you for your videos. I have one question, i have been trying to love my hair more but here is my issue, im exexperiencing LOTS of hair loss in the form or tiny/short ringlet/coils everytime i comb or wash. Im being extra gentle, ive deep conditioned, ive trimmed, ive steamed, ive up my moisture and hydrate routine, im treating it like a baby. I even did a Aphogee protien treatment and wash once a week or every 10days where i use a less intense conditioner and deep condition once a month. My go to style is a high puff or i wear wraps daily. I sleep in a satin bonnet....... WHAT on this green earth am i doing wrong and why am i seeing these coils all over the place? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!?

Chana Smith: Beautiful hair! And I love how you were comfortable stating that you are an introvert. Me too girl. :)

Jenn A: Girl...get it, that thumbnail was gorgeous and these are good recommendations, everyone is different and people need to acknowledge that and act accordingly

Dion Hawn: Girl I can just watch your videos all day! Great content. Can’t wait for the next video!

Deshonda Williams: I use this same regimen. I do use a heating cap and I us As I am Products: Coconut Cowash, the leave in conditioner, the double butter cream. I do use the Shea moisture castor oil line for my deep conditioner because my hair loves it. Bit I do use the hydration deep conditioner with As I Am. Like you said, hair products lines are meant to work with each other. I do use the hair growth oil with Curly Proverbz, along with her green tea rinse and henna. I have noticed a decrease in hair shed for me using her line with just those three products. My hair has become much healthier with a regimen and 2018 is the year I said I would be better about trimming my ends and having consistency with them. Love love love this video. New subie ❤

yeahyeah: Some women need to remember that alot of hair types will most likely grow outwards before it starts to grow downwards. Either way its growth!

leona wilson: I love that you spoke the truth from the start, now a subscriber Hair looks Healthy and Beautiful.

O P: I don't know if you can call what I do to my hair a regimen, but what i do is very similar to your process. I do what works with the least amount of damage. At the end of my wash and condition in the shower, with the shower head still saturating my hair, I put in my oils and styling cream and then french braid my hair to the back on each side. Although two strand twisting is easier and quicker with my extremely thick hair, I find that french braiding stretches my hair better as it dries and I have better definition when I take it out. Since french braids are tighter than two stand twists it takes a little longer to dry(about 4 days), but the results are undeniable! And yeah, I agree with you, low manipulation and not using heat tools keep the hair from unnecessary breakage.

Nicky Richardson: I love this regimen! I usually keep my hair twisted during the week for work and on the weekend, let it out. So yea, 4 days are possible lol. PS I love that lipstick! What color is it?

Margaret Jacobs: I love your hair. You look amazing. I just started to grow my natural hair 4 months ago. Please show your products you are using. It’s a long process but I will get there one day. Thank you.

Chelle Weatherspoon: Thank you for being real and providing real facts about retaining growth being the best way to get the length. This video s something hard to do for 4c because it it easy to get tangles and hard to not lose hair during the detangling process This video was very helpful.

kaydenpat: Gorgeous. Love all your tips. Your regimen has obviously worked wonders for your hair.

dee c: girl your hair is goals it’s beautiful. I’m trying to get to where you are, i just need maybe a few more inches but my hair is trying i cant say it’s not. i just love really big curly hair i cant wait to get there.

Adamma Nwosu: Right from childhood , my hair was never easy to comb so I never expected loose curls

ISHTAR: Thanks for the tips and product suggestions. Your hair is thick, long and beautiful. You’re truly blessed.

Tricia Saffron Willock-Daley: I appreciate your honesty concerning how fast hair grows, suitable products and expected results. Most videos give the impression that an individual's hair will grow within a short period of time.

Glitter Mommy: I went natural by default 8 years ago. My hair is long but I have crazy shrinkage I've found a few products that my hair loves but I'm still trying to build a regimen

Elizabeth Covington: Wow - Definitely want a Part 2, Part 3... - just keep this good information coming! I was able to glean so much good information from this video - Thank You for sharing! Oh, and as a great-grandmother, I must say, you are adorable..., and smart as a whip!!! :)

She Docs: I just straightened my hair for the first time in three years(to length check) ,and watching you makes me wanna wet it

werdtata: I love your hair. I’ve been natural 4 years not even close to your length. Recently started getting trims by a professional because I’m not confident to trim my hair myself. But she chopped a lot off.

LaLabutterfly: I grew my hair out to your length, lol I tried every oil and homemade concoction but my hair thrived the most when I had a basic regiment. I got bored started to play with my hair and alas lol I’m back to cutting it and starting over. Which I love. I don’t remember the last time I watched a natural hair video Oh well, the journey begins... again

Curlygaisha: One i love your hair, and YESSS your speaking the truth!! I say this all of the time, about patience and sticking to your regime. Dont believe the hype about growing "fast"

Petra Amponsah: Yes! My hair was amazing after finger detangling and I shed less hair despite the fact I haven't detangling for three days.

Pamela McCants: I always lost all my hair early last year and my doctor couldn’t pinpoint it. I mean just touching it and it came out in clumps! I did my own research and these are the things I did to help bring my hair back and it definitely came back and thicker. First I cut away all the damaged hair that was left( very little) I shampoo once a week using a shampoo brush which stimulates blood flow and encourages hair growth. Walmart have them for $1.33. Then I deep condition using a plastic cap under heat for 20 - 30 minutes then rinse with cool water to close pores and lock in moisture. Then I apply a leave in conditioner which detangles and adds more moisture. I only trim ends when needed. I always sleep with a satin bonnet because cotton dries out hair which causes breakage. I only detangle with a wide tooth comb starting from ends upwards gently. I mist my hair daily with water and apply oil in my hands ( only a little) and apply all over especially the ends of my hair to seal in that moisture. Growth oils are Lavender, Peppermint, Haitian Black Castor Oil with Lavender, Clary Sage oil, Jamaican Black Castor. And Tea Tree oil is good for the scalp as well. Please learn your hair porosity because it will save you tons of money on hair products that are not effective in your hair. I also take a multivitamin daily and etc.

Helanda Crespin: Introvert too, when I twist out, I condition and moisturize sometimes for 5 days. During those days, If I want a change, wigs and ponytail, and twists are my go to options. Intetesting webpod, great hairfo!

Gumtree: The fact that you made this video, gives me hope on my hair. Thank you

Missjamaican Flowers: Thank for the video, you’re hair looks gorgeous ❤️❤️
