Struggling with how to moisturise dry 4b or 4c natural hair? Then the best way to moisturise your hair is to apply the LCO method, LOC Method or LOCO Method. The most well known one is the LOC method, but I’ll be using the LCO one, which works best for my hair.

If you don’t know; L stands for Liquid/Water, C stands for Cream and O stands for Oil. The benefit of doing this is it helps to prevent moisture loss, helping your hair to retain moisture for longer.

You should also apply these methods during the cold winter months, when the air is dry and tends to draw all the moisture out of your hair, so using this method adds extra layers to the moisturising process, helping your hair better retain the moisture.

Hey guys and welcome back to another video. Today I'll be showing you How To Moisturise your Natural Hair using the LCO Method, and this is particularly beneficial for those of you who suffer with really dry hair and struggle to keep it moisturised.. So for anyone who doesn't know, LCO stands for Liquid Cream Oil., There's also the LOC Method, which stands for Liquid Oil Cream and there's also the LOCO Method, which stands for Liquid Oil Cream Oil.. These methods are basically designed to prevent moisture loss, helping your hair to retain moisture for longer.. So I'm going to start off with sectioning my hair into 4 and normally, when moisturising my hair, I only apply just water or liquid and cream, but to help those of you experiencing issues with dryness. I wanted to show you the full LCO methods which will hopefully help you., So I'm guna start off by spraying lots of water on my hair, and I mean ... lots of water because my hair is really thick and coily. I want to make sure that all areas of my hair are properly saturated with the water.. Once that's done, I'm guna section this quarter of my hair into even smaller sections, So I can properly moisturise my hair., So I always moisturise my hair twice a day. First thing in the morning and last thing at night, and I usually do this really really quickly, but for the sake of this video I wanted to show you the longer version. Just you can see the full. You know method in which it's applied and I will be using the Aunt Jackie's Instant Detangling Therapy. As my cream., When applying moisture to my hair, I like to use lots of moisture (, as you can see, ) just for a really small section, but that's just to make sure my hair is highly moisturised. And this is what's going to help to prevent my hair from drying out and breaking. And for the final step in this process. I'M gon na add coconut oil to seal and a lock all the moisture into my hair.. So when it comes to choosing oils for your hair, it's best to choose ones that are based on your porosity levels. So, for example, if you have high porosity hair, then you're going to want to use thicker oils such as Castor oil, Jamaican Black, Castor oil or Shea Butter, since your hair finds it most difficult to retain moisture.. But if you have normal or low porosity hair, then lighter oils such as Coconut oil, Almond oil, Jojoba, oil, Argan, oil, Olive oil or Grapeseed oil will probably work well., I'd, probably say the best time to use these methods would be during the cold winter months, when The air is really dry outside because it basically tends to draw all the moisture out of your hair.. So using these methods will basically help to add extra layers to the moisturising process. Now, in terms of which of the 3 methods you want to use is completely up to you. So you probably want to experiment with your hair to see which works best.. So once that sections done, I'm just going to tie it back up with the band and I'm going to move on to the next section and apply the exact same method that you've just seen.. Ok, I'm guna show you a quick close up again on the final section, so you can properly see what I am doing.. So again, I'm just spraying the'Liquid', which is the water and then I'm gon na add the'Cream', which is my moisturiser ... ..., followed by the oil., Just as an extra or additional step for those of you whose experiencing really really dry hair, you can also apply the Baggying method - and this basically means where you cover your hair, your entire hair with Cling film, Saran, wrap or a Plastic bag, and you leave you on overnight, removing it in the morning and basically, this helps to lock the moisture in, so that your hair is basically Kind of you know being moisturised overnight and basically, when you remove it, your hair should definitely feel really moisturised and really soft. So it's definitely worth giving a try.. So that's it .... It'S all been moisturised and I'm just going to take it out and show you what it looks like.. So here's a quick before-and-after shot of my hair'Dry' vs'Moisturised'. You might not really be able to see much of a difference, but my hair was really really soft and moisturised.. So that's how you apply the LCO Method. I hope this videos been really useful and that it's going to help you to keep your hair moisturised. Healthy Afro Hair: I’m back with another video, giving you tips on How To Moisturise Your Dry Natural Hair using the LCO Method. Does anyone already use these methods? If so, which one do you apply; LCO, LOC or LOCO?

Peace&Cookies〉(^_^)〈: I love this method! I feel like it's the only one that makes sense to me because I have always understood it to be that nothing can really penetrate oil, so it makes sense to do that last and it's the heaviest so I find it beneficial to work your way up hehe ! Your hair has grown so much, I love it

From A to 4z: The LCO method works well for my hair. Sometimes, when I want to treat my skin to something extra, I'll use it on my body as well (the method...not the products) ;)

Brown skin Capricorn 76: Oh my goodness! Your hair has really grown! Awesome routine! It's obviously working for you because your hair is flourishing! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing sis

Lotty Darling: We have the same exact texture. I learn a lot from your tips. My hair however cuts a lot. It just keeps falling anytime I wear it out. My hair is quite full so I don't notice the difference but I still feel worried. It's always very dry and hard. I dread combing it

Kay Amoah: Another great vid, I’ve been doing pretty much the same and my hairs been loving it! That moisturiser looks good I think il try it out

J Campbell: One of your sections is the amount of hair I have on my entire head! Great video! Thank you for repping the kinky community✊

Victor Robinson: I just found your channel and I’m so thankful that I did! I’m definitely trying this method.

Katelyn Gatewood: yesssss , somebody with my type hair . don’t see much of our type on YouTube sadly , I thank you soooo much for helping me with my hair !

Memoir Young: Great video. I'm 8 months natural. When I got it shaved to a bald fade months ago I was excited for the head full of 4c hair that i just knew I'd be getting. As it started growing back I continued to claim 4c. Now that I have a twa and can clearly tell that I'm 4b/4c with a little more 4b going on. Hair typing is very important in my opinion. What works on 4c....4a....3b...etc... doesn't work on 4b/4c hair. Hair typing helps in figuring out hair care. Question: my hair grows super fast when I braid with weave and keep moisturized. I usually braid my own every 6 weeks. But I decided to go to 1 if our local African shops....let them put box braids in. My scalp is now super itchy and so dry. Do you let them braid your hair? If so, are you finding that your scalp gets dryer? I literally have to grease my edges and scalp twice a day and spray oil sheen. When I braid my own I moisturize every other day and don't have an itchy scalp. Your hair is beautiful! New subscriber. Can't pass up an opportunity to plug while on here so go to barnes&noble.com and check out my work under tonya young #readabook

Mimi: Came for the hair guidance and stayed for your accent ❤️❤️

Lydia Mathobela-Nhlapo: You are the real deal. I live for your channel!! ♥️

Sabrina D: Thank you for the video. You mentioned you do this 2x a day. How about when you keep the same style for a week? How do you moisturizer it 2x a day in that case?

Kelly St Cyr: I have just discovered your videos and want to say Thank you . I love the fact that your UK based and you use products that are available in the UK. I have picked up lots of small tips and just want to thank you

Carla Toppins: Good tutorial, and thouroughly Explained. I didn't know there were other methods. Only knew of the LOC method. Thanx 4 posting, and your hair is gorgeous living proof this method works.:)

Audrey Ooro: You have a gorgeous head of hair ! I have the same texture and density (high porosity) and I can't wait until it gets to that length.

This Candy: Thanks for sharing! I've found my hair twin in lenght, width, and texture GOOD TIPS ☺ #NATURAL

D A C: The texture shot in the beginning so fluffy!

A2SA KOPP: hello, i like your videos so much ❤️ can we use a leave-in for « cream »? thank you !

TheAnonyy: Another good video I'm relaxed now so I would have to apply substantially less

Vanessa Asare: very helpful :)

Mizz J: Nice routine..I also do the baggy method, it really helps with moisture...I know this is off topic but what song is playing in the background?

Omolade Okaiyeto: Thanks for sharing this love to see other hair types similar to me helps better on how to manage it better

idiat olawuyi: Hi there please am just new in transitioning to natural hair journey.Am just watching this video for the first time. Please I got a question for you do you do the LCO everyday ? Thank you so much I will appreciate your response

Vivian Rene' Warner: Hi, just found your channel, GREAT VIDEOS. My hair problem is high porosity hair with no elasticity. Do you know much about this issue? I have tried many products over the years including protein and hot oil treatments but nothing seems to work. Products literally just sit on top of my hair with really penetrating in the hair shaft. The results are either greasy or just dry hair…. Any suggestions would be helpful for my 4C very dry and brittle hair.

Providence Ogaree: your hair is flourishing, I'll like you to do an updated video of ur wash day, when u did one your hair was shorter.. just a quick question, after you co wash do u need to deep condition your hair afterwards?

Autumn432hz: Thanxx for doing the close up. That helped a lot

Keziah: I do LCO, although in warmer months I tend to do just LO! Since I'm in the UK like you I'm going to be going back to LCO!

Ayoola Aguda: Hi... Thanks so much for this video. Can I use a leave in conditioner as cream

karen horton: Your hair came back to Life

Jemma C: I tried the LCO meth but within like 8-9 hours it’s flipping dry again and idk if I should use the LOC method or try different oils

Michelle Frazier: So beautiful ❤

Victoria Joseph: What are your protective styles?do you do any?maybe a video on that?. Love love your channel

S D: Happy I found your channel!

Nichelle S: I was wondering how you wear your hair on a daily basis, especially if your moisturizing twice daily.

Monique Moore: Could I still do this on hair that was clean 1 day ago that is hard/drying from using a pomade?

Hakunnah Mu-tAH-TAH: I like LCBO (liquid,cream,butter ,oil)

YouTube Addict: Could you add all the products you used (water, the cream + the coconut oil) into a spray bottle and use it all in one go or is it important to do it one step at a time?

Fortune Onyenobi: Is it okay if i used water, leave in conditioner and oil to moisturize my hair?

Brenda Jones: Thank you.

Londiwe Ndlovu: My hair hurts so much

Williams J: Great video. Being that your low porosity. Did you soray your hair with warm water?

Jan Pedro: Have you tried Ayurvedic treatment ? If done on regular basis it improves hairs moisturize level and over wealth !

doreeneb: Your hair has grown so much!

Keiramilk: I don’t know a lot of black people so when I saw your hair looked so much like mine it made me very happy. Thanks for posting!

Yohanna Tossaint: Hola querida tengo la misma textura de cabello que tu tienes y Poreso mi suscribi a tu canal espero aprender mucho aunque se biendo porque no entiendo nada.

Evryting Kriss: I normally do LOCO but I didn't know that it was an established method for moisturizing. Haha

Tammie Currie: Are u going to do a silk press at any point, would be curious to see your hair in this temporary state

Mandi: I notice you didn't braid or twist your hair. Did it not shrink as the day went on seeing as you put water (and I'm guessing a water-based cream) in it? I'm wondering if, as my hair gets longer (and heavier) like yours, it will shrink less maybe...?

Amara Grace: I really love this video is helpful to me please dear my hair always go down after washing it

Ms B: I struggle with moisturising my hair... No matter what I do it jus dries out once I have it out ... I have high porosity 4B-C thick hair

Sirri Teneng: Wow great work there. But i have one question. Do u have low porosity hair ?

El Belle: After locking in the moisture with oil during the day...will the products you apply at night penetrate into your strands?

LaTanya Mikell: What is the best thing to Wash 4b hair with

Scia: This was a good video

Kayrn Dillard: I do water, cream, and grease

Chinenye Judith: Do you finger deterngle or comb your hair?

Everything Zainatu: But if moisturizer my hair every 3 days is it okay to do lco method on my 3rd day mark?

Shabara Liberal: I usually do LOCLO

Nele Mazwide: Beautiful hair sisi

Hakunnah Mu-tAH-TAH: Have you ever used when at biologics products?

Kaycee Franco: Nice arms! That hair really has them working out, and toning up

Akilah George: hair godmother

Danae Hewitt: Can I use pink moisturiser instead of cream

Lydia Alasa: lovely video. i thought coconut oil wasn't best for low porosity thought

Rutendo Mandiya: So is it necessary to moisturise your scalp

Niya: Eh..you didn't even braid it to make sure it wouldn't shrink up..

Nekysha Harrigan: I thought it was the other way around..... High porosity retains more moisture and more easier to retain moisture than low porosity. Thicker oil used for low porosity and thinner oil used for high porosity?
