Everyone welcome back to my channel, so I'm going to be talking to you today about how I keep my silver hair white. It has been a question that comes up a lot of my social feeds and I thought I would just kind of do a little short video on just the products. I use it's not that many and really what the shampoo is. That really keeps my hair. I think, and I see really really white and bright so before I start, though, getting into that video. I just want to thank you so much for loving my fierce aging series that I did for the month of March. So much - and I figured you know what you ladies had such great comments - that I'm going to bring back a second series in the month of May, so you can look forward to that. Seeing different women seeing different women of all ages me doing makeup on them. Actually we're going to be talking about skincare also, so I think it's gon na be a really fun video for you to watch and let's get this Beauty started. Alright, ladies, so this is what I do then. Let me just tell you about my routine is so first and foremost okay, so I was washing my hair like every three days four days and I found that it really stressed out my hair. My hair wasn't as bright, and I really needed to just kind of chill out on that. So dry bar of course opened up around me or around the corner and it's basically a blow-dry bar. I love dry bar I've loved it ever since it started. I'Ve been going there in New York, been there in Denver and Las Vegas, you name it any city, I'm in I will go to dry bars, get my hair blown out. So I have been doing that now because of my schedule with HSN and with my photo shoot schedule and with working with different companies for photo shoots. I want my hair to look the best. It can look and a professional blowout is really the way to go for me. So what I'll do is I find that the less stress I'm doing I'm doing my hair once a week? I can really get like. I can stretch the blow the blowout for a week that I'm bringing in my purple shampoo every other time, so she can wash my hair with it, and I see that it looks amazing and it is so white. So the purple shampoo I've mentioned multiple times. I'Ve tried so many ladies I've tried so expensive. I'Ve tried sheep. I'Ve tried everything. I'Ve always stuck with the Phaedo. I'Ve done videos on this. I'Ve mentioned it on my Instagram. It'S just something that I really I loved this company since my early 20s and I actually used. I was just thinking about how they used to have their bottles and they used to be in glass, and I get so nervous like oh, my gosh. Am I gon na drop this glass bottle in the shower, so he stood right like put rubber bands around it, so it would have something to hold on to, but this is the old packaging. So this is the Phaedo charge and you can see the purple like. That was my that this is me I had it. I was taking it to dry bar and I had it on that side and I just it's almost empty, so I thought well I'll just show you keep it there, so you can see how purple it is. It'S like a blueberry syrup, it's nice and thick. It'S so so bright purple. I love it now. This is the new packaging, so they sent this to me because I reached out to them on Instagram and I'm, like you know, I'm obsessed with you. I always used a purple shampoo, so they're like we just came out with new packaging. Let us send it send it to you. So I said perfect. So this is the note, yellow shampoo. So when it says on here gray, white bleached hair. Now I like this packaging better because I can grab it it's a square instead of round. So it's really nice to have this. It'S on sale right now on their website, 20 dollars and 40 cents, it's normally $ 24, and it's basically just really highly concentrated and cornflower extract. So you're gon na get lots of hydration you're gon na get shine to your hair, manageability. It detangles your hair. I find it really does hydrate my hair. I love how it feels it doesn't strip my hair. So this is a such a wonderful product. You don't use that much of it. You don't use it every time you wash your hair. You don't want to do that because it is highly concentrated. It is purple which happens to my mother one day I was looking at her and she was washing the dishes, and I said what are you doing to your hair and she said what I'm like. It'S purple mom how many times are used in the purple shampoo. Every every time I wash I said, mom, you can't can't do that, like literally, I took pictures of it because she's like it's, not purple, I said yes, it is so. I was like taking pictures with the phone and I showed her. I was like your hair is purple. You will be going to the circus soon. We are not doing this, so she's like okay, so now her hair is back to you. Just recently saw it's back to just being white, but goodness I was a little afraid for a minute, so they have an exclusive synergy of plant in this product. I just really can't say enough about this product. I use it. I buy it. I love it and I see my hair being very, very bright and a lot of people asked me: where, should I start using a purple? Shampoo, listen! I used purple shampoo. The second that I saw grey hair is coming out and I was like I'm going for it. I just was like we can't hurt my black hair, like what's it gon na do so I just wanted to all my little Silver's and then the white stripe. I had I wanted it to be as white as possible, so I've been using this for a very long time. Alright. So the next thing I wanted to show you is, I don't use that much hairspray, but I do need it when I'm doing certain things like photo shoots, so I use the Kerastase VIP volume and power. This is stronghold. This is a strong hold hairspray lack of today. Ladies I'm like getting crazy. If I'm gon na be slicking back, my hair, I used to lay right super hold pomade. This is actually, I think, for a man, because it's my husband's and I've stolen it from him. It says holds like wax washes out like gel, so it's water-based, it's really nice. So it's not sticky. It really makes your hair. Just like I mean my hair is very thick, so I need something: that's not. I don't have to add tons of product and then it looks like I added tons of product. This looks beautiful. It really holds my hair. It defines my hair. Hi hold medium shine, so I get this on Amazon. Then, when I feel like my hair has like maxed out on the blow out, like I'm really at the last part, like four five six seven days into it, I will use the batiste. This is a dry shampoo, so it comes out white. So when I'm feeling like oh, maybe I should just kind of give a little spruce up to my hair and make it like a little bit more weight I'll. Do that with this, I got this at t.j.maxx $ 5.99. This is so great because I feel like it not only refreshes, it smells like this is floral and flirty. It reminds me of Michael Kors perfume for some reason, but it just like refreshes and gives me that whiteness that I want for my hair when it kind of, is definitely needing to be washed. And then the last product that I use is the sparkling soda to shine mist from dry bar. I, like the travel sizes I'll pick a bunch up when I'm checking out when I'm flying out the next day and I'll spray. This on just for some nice. Just some nice shine, but what's nice is that it's not really and greasy. I don't like that. I don't I don't like touching my hair and feeling like it has a lot of stuff in it. So this sparkling soda has been really nice. So, that's basically how I keep my hair white. I don't do a lot of stuff to it a minimal on product, and I really feel that using hot tools using the blow-dryer using a flat iron will stress your hair. You will get brassiness, you will get it to be yellow, so you just have to really combat that with you know, investing in products that are gon na help with whitening your hair, like the Phaedo purple shampoo or using whatever purple shampoo you like to use, and You really see a difference in your hair, so those are the products that I use and, ladies, I hope you have a great day and I'll see you next time.

AnniesShenanigans: Mine is still more brown than silver, but everyone tells me how beautiful my hair is. Purple shampoo once a month, I don't wash it on the weekends, air dry as much as possible. After years and years of bleaching, my natural hair is so much better!!
Ibelieveinangels yesido: Yes, Nikol! I use purple shampoo & purple conditioner about every 3rd wash. For a hair mask, I use purple *conditioner* mixed with coconut oil. To 'wash' it out, I use an inexpensive conditioner first - that emulsifies it & it rinses right out - then I just wash & condition as usual. Works like a charm on my babyfine wavy hair. Karen Ley: I used to use Phytotargent but feel like the formula changed when they changed the packaging. Doesn’t give the same results and is now extremely drying. Pity because I absolutely loved it!
Marilyn Morrison: I just finished colouring my mostly silver/white hair, I had to bleach the greys in the front of my pixie cut. That was part one of my procedure, part two was toning the yellow out of my hair, I should tell you that I use a high end products on my hair. The toning takes 20-25 minutes and I wash it out and condition my hair and I am never disappointed that beautiful silver/white is the end result. Going silver/white was the best thing I made peace with. Thanks Nokol!

Seona: Has anyone with natural white, silver hair had any issues with discoloration with heat tools? Like a hair straightener or curling iron.... I'm so UPSET mine has definitely changed with heat! And yes I use thermal protection, my water is not hard and I use purple shampoo!

Pickled Ginger: I still have a lot more pepper than salt, but decided it was time to take better care of the salt since it is so wiry and wanting to do its own thing all the time. I started using Loreal Serie Magnum Silver (?), very happy with it. I use it every other or every third wash, and wash aprx every 5-7 days. I like the scent, clean and kind of mountain/woods clean, but the scent doesn't linger. I let it sit for at least five minutes, no scalp burning or itching, doesn't dry my hair or scalp, and I follow with OGX Biotin (purple bottle). Really like it. I started taming those flying greys with a scant bit of coconut oil. Sometimes I blow dry on low heat, sometimes air dry - sometimes - usually - I add more coconut oil, but it's only ever on the midway down to the tip, not at the root. My hair is getting too thin to be weighing it down at the root! Annnnd thanks to you (Nikol), I've just bought my first can of dry powder in a can spray stuff/whatever. I have high hopes for it - and was AMAZED at Walgreens to see so many different ones now, when a couple of years ago, that wasn't the case. Hooray!

PLUME 1: I love the results from purple shampoos except that all the ones I have tried made my scalp super dry. I don’t mean dandruff-I mean tight and uncomfortable. After 50 I started to have this dry scalp without purple shampoo & the purple shampoo intensifies the dryness. Does this shampoo tend to dry out the scalp? Thx much Always enjoy your tips!

SHIRYON: Good tips. I avoid products with sulfates or alcohol. When I wash my hair with co-wash or gentle shampoo, the last rinse after conditioning is with filtered water. Chlorine will cause that brass color. I wear a hat if I'm going to be outside for a prolonged period of time. My hair is staying silver without blue shampoo.

artsylady06: I've noticed that it seems you talk about silver and white hair as though they are one and the same. But there actually is a difference. My mother had white hair and my father silver. I don't mean gray-white, it was actually silver which glistened metallic under lights and the sun. I inherited it from him and it grew in in streaks like highlights. But I've been wondering lately though if purple shampoo would enhance the silver? I certainly don't want purple hair or taking a chance that something might change it. Or maybe just using a clarifying shampoo to eliminate product build-up would be best?

poodlegirl55: My hair is pure white. I find that if I add a few drops of purple shampoo into regular shampoo every time I wash it my hair is always white and never purple. Switching off didn't work for me, with regular shampoo I had some yellowing and even one time of purple shampoo it was purple. But this works.

Ellen Maher: I am thinking about letting my gray go but I am nervous about it. I have really dirty dull natural color now that I am older so I color it. I had light brown hair when I was young but it got darker as I aged. I color my hair with Argon Oil color with 7N which I love but I want to stop coloring and still have it look good and not drag my face down. I want the gray to be very white and not yellow. Patty: I'm 77 and tho' people always tell me that I don't look my age, my one big downfall is my hair. It has always been very fine, and now in my old age, very thin. In fact, I'm beginning to get bald spots. What I'd like to know is if you know of any wigs that aren't overpowering for someone like me? I have a small head & actually had to have my hats custom made when they were popular back in my days as everything sold in stores was just too large. Sooo..... what I'm finding is that even with wigs that are "supposed" to be light, they are still too overpowering and because of that they look like a bush on my head. I don't mind people knowing that I'm wearing a wig, but I just don't want it to be overpowering for my face. I sure would love to see you do a video with someone like me who has very thin hair and balding, and perhaps see you demonstrate a wig line which truly does make a wig for those who can't handle a lot of hair without looking ridiculous! And no, I can't just wear a filler type piece as I don't have enough hair to hold it in place no matter how many pins I use. What would you suggest? I've always felt that hair makes a person even more so than makeup does! Would you help us senior seniors who still want to look nice? Thanks! (What I wouldn't give for hair like yours!!)

Porcelain1: Been going white, {not gray} since I was 17. Now 56, I'm completely white. My hair is not the pretty white I've seen on very few. I'm very jealous of those soft white tresses! Mine are like the majority: ungodly course, dry, unruly...to be frank, GROSS. Hair color is SO much more than color...a box of color restores gloss, softness, literally youth for hair! Now if they could come up with something for gravity we'd be set. It's a pain in my butt every 3 weeks, also so worth it.
