What up guys so if you have tightly curly hair like me, you probably know that avocado or banana masks are a huge pain in the tuchus little pieces of avocado and banana just get caught in the little curls and they take forever to remove. But I've got a solution for my curly friends that allow you to enjoy avocado or banana masks without getting any pieces caught in your curls, okay, so avocados. First, I like to use avocado that are a little too ripe to eat, but not exactly deserving to be thrown out, so just save those bad boys and instead of using your hands or fork to mash them, I toss them in the blender, so they'll get completely Pulverized, add a bit of water or aloe vera juice and blend now grab a race strainer with tiny holes and place it over a bowl. I pour the blended avocado mixture into the strainer. Then I grab the strainer by the handle and gently tap it against the bowl up and down repeatedly. What this does is allow the avocado liquid to strain through to the bowl catching all the little lumps that would have gotten caught in your hair, and once all the liquid is through, you can see all those little avocado lumps that would have driven you crazy trapped In the strainer now just tap gently you don't want to force the lumps through and, as you can see, what's left in the bowl is a super silky, smooth consistency, no lumps to get caught in your curly hair. Now I do the same thing with the banana I've blended it with water. I'M gon na put the mixture in my rice, strainer and gently tap out the liquid. You may have to rotate it while tapping to find free spots in the strainer, but that's it once you're done, you'll see all the little banana lumps that would have been caught in your hair caught in the strainer instead and, of course, check the consistency super smooth, Like silk, this stuff feels amazing and avocados, and bananas are great for the hair full of potassium vitamins and minerals fats. They moisturize and condition like crazy. But if you're, a curly girl, you've, probably experienced spending hours, removing the tiny little particles that get caught in your curls well, not anymore, so let's apply it. I just coat the hair and let it sit with the plastic cap, rinse and style. Here'S the final product, hair, that's moisturize, shiny, feels great and most importantly, banana and avocado particle free, so give this method a try, the next time, you're looking to add avocados or bananas to your curly girl, hair mask and, as always, I hope this helps guys I'll See you next time needing a bit of fall. Inspiration well, come hang out with me as I get ready on my style Channel come chill with the gang over on my daily blog I'll, see you guys there

Missphotogenic Baby: I just wanna say thank you so freakin much for this video my hair was so dry this week and I was just so annoyed but I did the banana mask last night and a hot oil treatment! And omg my hair felt amazing I have products for days and my hair has never felt this soft or moisturized after a deep condition! So thank you and my hair loves you ❤️

Nontalie Morrow: This is so perfect! I'm in the process of updating my hair regimen, so this is great timing!

Melodic Mystic: Watching again in 2020...still the BEST conditioner I've ever put in my hair!

Linda Keith Anderson: Thanks for a great tutorial!! I've used the blender before, but the extra step with the strainer will make this perfect. Your hair looks amazing as usual! Take care, Linda :-)

Mentagasm: Hey Nap. Been following u for years now. So great to watch your channel, your hair and your family grow. So, my solution for Avocado pieces and the like is using a food processor instead. It makes use of all the product making it super smooth and saves time on straining and not being able to use the pieces left over. Also i add different oils because my hair gets brittle as f*#k! Lol. Hope this shaves a few minutes off process. Continue to Rock. Peace love and Naps.

Briona: The strainer is such a great tip, Whitney! I've been blending my avocado with water as well, but didn't think of the strainer. I definitely experienced the hours of picking tiny particles out of my hair xO Never again! 3

kerducky: Hey Whitney, GREAT tutorial! I have yet to add avocados & bananas to my hair regimen but I will definitely add it to my hair to do list! So far I need to try honey, yogurt, avocados and bananas...all things I don't eat but, I will feed it to my hair! Oh yeah, I finally got that DENMAN & flexi-rods I can't want to use em, I think I'll test them out on my mom first, she's been so anxious to wear her natural hair in public! Thanks for the tip, ur hair looks FABULOUS as always! Have a WONDERFUL WK!

LifeJourneyToBeNatural: I love your DIY. I always wanted to make my own masks for my hair. Looks good enough to drink like a smoothie. :) Your hair gets longer and longer as I watch your videos. Beautiful hair.

Sheree McCrum: I learned this awhile ago because I also grow my aloe vera and use it for my hair. Fresh aloe vera also left bits in my hair, straining it has helped tremendously. Try aloe, banana, avocado and honey together it makes a wonderful mask and is great for your followers who are protein sensitive and can't do the Greek yogurt mask. Always love your videos, thanks again.

LaTanya: Love this video! Been using this method for several months bcs I can't stand mayo and yogurt in my hair with heat-blah. Quick note for people with short hair: you'll have extra mixture leftover. Refrigerate for up to 1 week. If you need longer, freeze in an ice cube tray. Just pop out 3 or 4 cubes when needed. Don't waste money buying fresh for every time.

Tatiana Sanders: I love this! I have to try it! I've always been natural, but I've experimented so many times on my hair. Growing up, I was introduced to curling irons, wands, hot combs, and flat irons. Whenever I was my hair, I've noticed so much heat damage, it's a shame. By watching your videos, I've gained so much insight on how to get thick, successful, natural curls. Thank you so much

Naomi Mordi: I''ve actually tried the strainer before. My hair felt and looked amazing. Super strong and shiny. But instead of lumps, I had tiny particles that were even harder to get out. *smh

Christine Naamani: I literally just tried this! Its amazing, no bits in my hair after blending and straining! I think the key is straining after :) it was like putting a smoothie into my hair. Thank you for this, something on youtube that actually works for once :D

Sheree Starr: Thanks again Naptural85, this wonderful homemade conditioning treatment is a inexpensive and rewarding treat for the hair. Just watch your video and decide to try this one and I must add that this recipes will be used readily in my hair care regimen due to it's nutritional attributes for the hair and it's cost effectiveness....love it!!!!!!

4mySISTERZ: This was my first time trying this mask and I loved it!!! TFS

Maryietta Smith: Loveeee this tutorial!!! I got tired of the particles and strained the mixture in a stocking like you did in the flax seed gel tutorial lol! Us naturals are creative lol!

chalabrooks: Whitney, I just want to say "THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO"! Girl, the first time I used the banana in my hair, LOL, I thought it was the end of the world. I had to brush that mess out of my hair by taking a small section at a time before it was out. My hair was dry by the time I finished and I said forget it, I am done. Lol!. So I say thank you again for this video. I will share it with the natural hair group I am in. We love you over there. Tell your husband I said "Hi" and kiss Olivia for me.

cyndog35: Love all of your videos that I've watched so far. They are so precise and informative. Keep up the excellent work!

Dalgona_Candy: Great tip I honestly never thought of that so straight forward and really quick thanks Whitney

Madeleine: Omg yes! I had done an avocado hair mask before and swore I would never do it again. It was so nasty and even when i mixed it it still had thicker chunkier parts. Lets just say that I had to rewash my hair after the mask was "done". I will definitely give it another try using this method! Thanks Girl, curliciously beautiful

bigbrowniii: Go just tried the banana & it did an amazing job conditioning my hair! Great tip Nap!

LaShonda Morris: This is an awesome deep conditioning mask! My hair loved it! Thanks!

Rachine Wilmoth: Easy and simple . love it just what i was looking for

luvlyrickle: Thanks for this! I blend up an overripe avocado with some natural aloe vera gel scooped straight from the leaf and a couple squirts of honey. My hair LOVES it and it comes out super soft, shiny and conditioned!!

E Pi: This is what I love about your channel it's truly NATURAL!!! Thanks again Naptural85!

Makeeba: Amazing banana solution. I just washed my hair using some of your methods and my hair is SO soft. Thanks a ton Nap!

JaySymonLee: I am doing this, this week!!! I just did your no heat blow out! and love it!

Jennifer Frazier: oh Lord! I did a avocado, banana and extra virgin olive oil mask tonight and I should've looked on YouTube before attempting it. it literally took 2hrs to get all of those lumps out of my hair. I promised I'd never do it again unless I found an easier way. Thanks so much for the video. my faith in the mask has been restored. Lol.

Vânia Luz: Muito bom amiga, suas dicas são ótimas!!

Lifestyle of Vee: Thank you so much for this video! I have been wanting to try this mask but heard so many complaints about leftover particles in the hair. Trying it your way this morning except I'm adding a bit of honey to mine. Be blessed!

Des Flores: this stuff works WONDERS. thank you so much for this. everytime i wash my hair i have to do this mask, it's like a part of my life now haha.

Mercury: That was super useful! Will try this soon! Thanks Whitney <3

Miss Ne’: I plant based and I love the fact you kept the recipe simple with no added animal produced !

Avi Yah: This is my absolute favorite conditioner! My hair loves this stuff

Yurrah Al-Hadi: Oh My God. I cannot express how happy I am that you made this video. I want to add avocados and bananas to my hair regimen. I tried the banana mask first on a very small section of my hair. IT WAS TERRIBLE. I let my hair dry and then combed out the dry clumps. This is a great idea and I still want to try these two on my hair. Can you use an oil instead of water or Aloe Vera juice, or perhaps coconut water?

Remarkable Mo: Great tutorial! Now I'll definitely try it!

icequeen161: Thank you so much for this. You have no idea how many times I've had to pick pieces out of my hair. Very clever!!!

Angela D.: Great video. I combined avocado and banana in one mask and it worked out great! Thanks. :)

Abigail Thompson: I tried this and I loved the results , thank you for sharing Hun

Hansy Peguero: I swear by my banana mask. I use it with honey, yogurt, eggs, oils, anything I can get my hands on. My hair loves it. My trick for using bananas is to use very ripe bananas, they basically melt when I put in the food processor. I haven't tried it with avocado yet but it sounds great.

Qami: Omg Thank you so much for this! The last time I tried an avocado mask, I had all the avocado particles in my hair for days (ewww!). I'm about to run to the store right now and grab the ingredients that I need!

Legit1001: HIIII! Im currently sitting here with this avocado banana mixture in my head and so far so good. No particles. I've never done one of these treatments so i'll let you know how it turns out :)

Andrea J's World: This is so helpful! I never have to pick avocado out of my hair again!!!

Yellow: Aaah I'd so love to do this! I need to buy a blender for my dorm already. My hair has been so dry lately. I don't know if I need a trim, deep conditioner, or both.

Christelle: Awesome tip, can't wait to try it. as always, you're inspirational :-)

Curls of Innocence Hair, Health, & Homeschooling: This is an awesome idea! Love it.

kalkidan afework: the lumps never bothered my curls that much but using a blender is a great idea! Love your hair

Vânia Luz: Suas dicas são ótimas, gosto muito.

robstarTV: Great tip! I spent a whole day washing avocado out of my hair last week.

Mobae: lol I did this 2 days ago and it took me hours to get the avocado out of my curls!! MAKE SURE TO BLEND COMPLETELY!!

QTNMS: Really appreciate that tip. It actually made me consider trying that treatment. It does not look so messy

Jaylynn Smith: The way I do it is by washing my hair once a week first I deep condition with the avocado and banana mix with all the oils let it sit all night in my hair then in the morning I just wash it with conditioner because shampoo will strip everything out. So I just wash it with conditioner everyweek and one week out of the month I do everything except add shampoo. ONLY ONE TIME OUT OF THE MONTH THOUGH! Hope this helpssssss:)

Steele Family: I literally just made some of this and cannot wait to try it!

MusicalPassion: Woohoo! I'll try this! I have banannas that are too ripe for me, and I didn't want to throw it away. Also, did you do a twist out to achieve the final look in this video, or did your curls just pop like that?

AllieImproves: what an awesome idea! can't wait to try this!

A henry: Love It! I will be trying this method asap!!

laura t: We should embrace our textures. Put more energy in improving your health head to toe...start from the head and the rest will follow...negative perspectives are just opinions. Thank goodness we have natural hair bloggers who can give us insight because sometimes the rest of the world just see "nappy". And its good to see more people get back to our roots! :3

Cynthia Kelly: Thanks Naptural85 this was on time as I am just looking for a hair mask that I can use to restore shine to my tresses... I think I'll keep the little lumps left over in the strainer from the avocado and bananas and add a bit of honey and make myself a facial mask too.. lol can't hurt!

Mimi Brown: Ahhhh I love you for this, was coming so close to giving up on using avocado and bananas!! Thank youuu!!!

Tashiya Young: Thank you so much for this video. I used my Nutribullet and it came out super smooth. Just blend it right out. No pulps :)

Mirline K: Hey Wit! Love the tips and all your channels!! Keep doing you!

Nesha Britwood: Nice, short & simple video. Appreciate it.

Central City Citizen: This sounds like how my mother used to make her own coconut milk. (But she made hers for food, not hair) She would get fresh coconuts, cut them open and dig out the flesh, then pulverize them in the blender. Then she would squeeze the "milk" essence out using a cheese cloth, not a strainer. And sometimes, she would double strain it, depending on the consistency that she wanted.  @Joy Foreman: Maybe if you double-strained the pulverized mixture, it would have the right consistency for your relaxed hair. Just a thought.

ecppls: Hey Whitney! First want to let you know that I love all of your videos, they are real helpful... I was wondering how can I eliminate frizz in my hair? ITs a texture of 4a/4b and it's constantly frizzy everytime I undo my twists. I use water, detangler, castor oil then my product to twist and it still ends up frizzy!! (UGH!!) HELP ME PLEASE!!!! lol Thank you for your time, I hope to hear from u soon! <3 E.C. **ANYONE MAY RESPOND, NOT JUST WHITNEY, THANK U :)**

Shena Holley: This is perfect. I just bought a blender/juicer what a great other use for it. I am so glad that I came across you. Love the video. Just subscribed!! :)

Starr Monique: Your videos are so helpful. I live by your flaxseed gel recipe. It's the only thing I use on my hair. And so cheap. Again thanks for all the info

R Oki: TOTALLY AWESOME!! My hair felt incredible! I think....  scratch this I know I will do this again!!!

Olivia Brown: Definitely trying this out :) Thank you for sharing this, those avocado pieces in my hair would annoy me lol it'd be in my hair for days without me even knowing smh lol

Piano Challenges: Perfect solution, I wish I had found this video before I attempted the avocado mix last week.. I was left with tiny strings of avocado in my hair that could wash out.. going to try the banana today, but with the strainer

AlishaK: You just saved my life...well hair life that is. I was super frustrated with the lack of moisture my hair has. So I will definitely try this. Thanks for posting!!!!

Venus G.: Thanks for the tips!!! I did a DIY avocado mask a while back. I had very a hard time trying to get the avocado out of my hair.

jaslckylatin: I swear you're amazing whit! Always helped us lost curly girls out here lol :)

cbcook2010: PERFECT TIMING! I was just searching YouTube about avocado hair masks. Then, clicked to see new uploads...and I saw your video. Thanks a million!

Shemelia Small: Girrrlllll!! Girl girl!!! I am in love *dances around* that avocado hair mask gives me life!!!!!! I live in the Caribbean and we have avocados and bananas growing like crazy all over so I decided to try this ... My hair loves the avocados I mix it with coconut oil and vit e oil and I must say its a winner!!! My hair is so soft and manageable after this!!! Thanks a million!!!

WhitneyStylez: Yasssss to that finished product! It looks so shiny and moisturized!

HerCrown HerGlory: Thanks so much. This was the very reason why I didn't try this mask a second time. Will be trying again soon!!!!

Keeta's Kitchen: Hey, I tried this DIY no too long ago, with banana avocado, honey, and olive oil. Everything was fine until the concoction got onto my ears. My ears were burning red and itchy, but my scalp was fine. Has anyone else experienced this? That was about a week ago and now my ears are scabbed on the inside and out from the mixture. My hair was okay but I won't be trying again.

vikky abraham: there are 2 deep treatments that my hair loves, avocado deep treatment and yogurt deep treatment. They both leave my hair soft and shiny. I don't spend money on products either.

MsCheesygirl: Thank you so much for the tips. I had avocado beads in my hair for one week. Next time I will try this method.

knorwoo11: Another great video. Thanks for sharing and education your fans:)

Ida Renee: Omg! Y didn't I think of this? I love how avocado makes my hair feel but I stop using it because it would take me forever to pick the pieces out of my hair no matter how well I blended it! Thanks Nap!

Idy Eyo: OMG......am so much in love with you right now cos the last time i tried this mask,i almost died of frustration from trying to pull the residues from my short 4c hair.now am gonna do it again without thinking of the aftermath.am saying a big thank you with so much hugs

Nesha Fuller: I did this a week ago. I used banana, avocado, Greek yogurt and honey. I used my Nutribullet. No lumps at all. I think I'm going to do it again before I get my hair twisted in a protective style.

Raevonn D: Love the video. never knew about these foods as conditioners. Will definitely try when I wash my hair next week.

Shanoy Miller: Definitely motivated to try this. My last trial was an epic FAIL which ended with me trying to remove banana from my hair

laedwards20: Thanks girl! Great tips!

A S: I followed your steps. but use my NutriBullet instead of a blender. I started to strain my mixture, and DISCOVERED the bullet already solved the problem. My mixture was smooth!

Citizenesse: Charlotte, I just want to encourage you to hang in there with your hair. Your hair won't look like Naptural's hair because you use the banana or avocado mask but it will help with moisture and rejuvenation. Working with your own personal hair type is kind of trial and error to see what works best for you to illicit the most shine, manageability, desired length, etc. What works for others may work differently for you. My hair is silkier on the crown and significantly less so in the back.

Jessica Lamar: OMG...you just made my conditioner process a WHOLE lot easier....i use avocados in my deep conditioner and it's always a pain...

Ms Lavisha Nicole: I've wanted to try an avocado mask in the past, but I didn't want to deal with the "lumps". Thanks for sharing your tips!
