❤IMPORTANT INFO BELOW! : Hey Guys! I found this fun glitter gel, called Major Moonshine, that can be applied to your hair and skin! It’s awesome for festive hairstyles or parties, but it can be pretty expensive for such a small jar. In this video I’ll show you how to make DIY homemade Major Moonshine Glitter hair gel pomade, as well as a few fun glitter hairstyles that work with your natural hair texture! I hope you enjoy! Xo! Nap

ps. I styled everything with my DIY Homemade Shea Butter Cream to help lubricate the hair so the glitter wouldn't stick. I don't know if it helped, but just want to note! Shea Butter Recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3Ok14... I'm also sure that my stretched hairstyles helped the glitter come out more easily than say, a wash and go-type style would! And lastly , glass jars are from local art supply store, in the glass jar aisle! ❤

**IMPORTANT : I didn't have any issues with the glitter but thought I'd share a comment from one of the fam below :

"mycatsaysmeow1 (39 minutes ago) This seems dangerous. Giant flecks of glitter threatening to fall over your face and into your eye? Craft glitter in your eye can literally blind you. I hope the commercial one is at least using cosmetic grade glitter."

Just be careful when wearing this, I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt. Be sure not to get it near your eyes, and throughout the night, periodically check to make sure everything is clear. XO! Love you guys! ❤❤

{, Music, } Hi guys. I was in Free People the other day and I came across this cool product called Moonshine. It is a glitter substance that you can put anywhere. It is mostly for your hair, or you can also put it on your face. I thought this was really cool, but it is really expensive. It was like $ 30, a jar, So I wanted to try to make it my own way DIY it to see if I could do the same thing but saving money, And that is where this video came from I’m, going to show you how I DIY Moonshine, Which is basically a glitter gel, It is really easy. It only takes a couple of steps And I also show you a couple of hairstyles that I did with the gels. Hope you guys the enjoy the video and I’ll see you after What you will need is a deep bowl, a spoon, a spatula, a gel base, preferably a store, bought brand, not a DIY, so you can store it without it, going bad A container and of course, Some glitter, I tried this first using a very fine glitter. It worked well enough, but to get this as similar to the Moonshine glitter as possible, you will want to use a medium to large glitter, Something that is really gon na pop I’m going to show you how I made this with these three glitters I picked up From the art store, This is literally the most simple thing ever just grab your bowl and plop in about two spoonfuls of gel Grab. Your sparkly glitter and we're gon na puts so much of this in there And use a lot because he wanted to be nice and thick and pigmented mix that together making sure all the glitter is mixed in And when you're done. It should have the consistency of a nice smooth, mousse, creamy and thick, And it should be sticky to the touch. That'S it you're pretty much done here and you can throw it into any airtight container. But if you're planning to give it as a gift or are just a perfectionist like me, I’ll show you how to pipe it into a jar to make it look really pretty. I do this any time I’m giving away something in a jar and it just looks a lot better Grab a sandwich bag. I'M gon na use a spatula to scrape the glitter gel into the bag. Now just cut one corner of the bag, and now you can pipe it into the jar like frosting And you can make it nice and swirly and it just looks like ice cream. It'S so pretty. You'Re, beautiful and sparkly DIY moonshine, glitter gel is complete. It took about five minutes and $ 10 to make I'm going to go ahead and make the other two colors the exact same way: { Music }. This is such a fun project to make and a really festive gift to give. It just looks so special in these little jars, like a little pot of gold or something { Music }. All three of these homemade glitter gels combined still cost less than one of the official Moonshines Visually. They all look extremely similar. The two official Moonshine's are on the ends and the three DIY's are in the middle. However, I will say that there are some differences between the DIY and the official Moonshine that I will explain at the end of the video. But first let me show you a few quick hairstyles that you can do with this gel The most popular way to wear. This is on a slicked back bun With the Moonshine either soley at the roots, or you can slick it all over your head to get really festive And I was wearing a sock, bun and thought it looked cute having it coming out of the middle of the Bun Kinda like a frosted donut or like frozen little festive bun. If you're, not careful, you can really get carried away with this stuff. I kinda lost my mind here and began, Adding it to my edges, my forehead down my nose. Like a highlight, I mean I have no idea what I was doing here. This glitter is really pretty so if you're, not careful, it can really cloud your judgement you've been warned, Here's a really easy way to wear it pretty much anywhere. You want it on a slicked back bun. I also thought it was cute to have it decorating the front of a high poof or a sloppy bun. Those are also some easy options. Another way, if you want the glitter a little bit more diffused on any type of rollers, set Just coat a layer of the glitter around the rolled hair and let that dry. And then, when you take the curls apart, the glitter will be diffused and spread easily. Throughout all of your curls, Like a beautiful curly natural haired, disco ball, Your hair is gon na catch, the light in all directions, and it is definately going to get noticed wherever you are. It'S just a really cute party style Festive, but not in-your-face, glitter {, Music }. This last one is like a little peek-a-boo glitter, just placing a little bit on the inside of your style, Starting on a twist out, I'm separating the hair closest to my ears and I'm taking already defined sections and coating them with glitter Once that is all coated. I twist the section back up and let that dry completely. Unfortunately, I didn't have the night to let it dry. So it's not completely dry here and it is still a little shrunken, but you guys get the point Unravel the twist and separate your hair And then join it with the rest of your twist out. This one is my favorite look of them all like peek-a-boo highlights, but with glitter. I think this would look really cute for someone who's in school or, if you're going to a party, and you want to jazz it up really easily. It'S just a really fun way to spice up a normal everyday twist out: {, Music }. I hope you guys enjoyed those looks.. As you can see, the glitter washes out really easily. That was actually one of my biggest concerns. I was really afraid, as I was applying this gel, that it was not going to come out, But I was really surprised that it came right out in my shower. I don't know if the fact that I have a removable shower head has anything to do with it, Because you can put it really close to the scalp and I basically just sprayed the glitter right out of my hair.. I don't know if just a normal stream would take longer, but it worked really well and the glitter came right out of my hair. I do have a couple of specks here and there, but I did film three different styles and wash my hair three different times. So there was a lot of glitter applied constantly this past week, so that probably has something to do with it. Besides that, I wanted to quickly talk about the differences between the official Moonshine and the DIY. One of the main differences is the glitter size, and that is something that you can change yourself. I found that the bigger glitter gets a little bit more of a bang. You can see it better. Using smaller glitter can tend to look a little like dandruff, so you might want to avoid that. Probably the most important difference is that the Moonshine is manufactured for use on the runway professionally, so it was manufactured to limit the fall out. That is kinda a big deal when you are dealing with glitter which can get everywhere. When you are DIYing it. You are not getting whatever substance, they use to keep it adhering together. So, as the gel dries, you are gon na get a little bit of the fall out. If you decide to play around with it, If you are just slapping it on and letting it dry you're not gon na have a problem. For example, as I was separating my curls, I was getting fall out on my neck and on my shirt That can be a little bit annoying. That is probably the biggest difference between the DIY glitter gels and the Moon gels. I feel like it is a pretty significant difference. I don't know that it would stop my from using the DIY gels, Since it is so inexpensive and easy to make and accessible, but I felt that I should point it out. I think that's all I wanted to cover. I hope you enjoyed this video and I will see you in the next one.
