Let me help you to pick out the best hair products for your hair, if you're new to my channel and if you're not welcome back, i'm mike i'm, who i'm a hairdresser, a l'oreal, color specialist, a makeup fan and a skincare lover if you haven't yet. Please consider subscribing for more hair and beauty content from a professional hairdresser. Like me in today's film we're going to be picking out the right hair care for your hair, we're going to go through some points. What you should consider when picking the hair products for your hair, what you need, how to determine whether you need this shampoo that shampoo, whether you need hair oil, whether you need a mask, etc, etc. So if you want to find out what you need to do to pick out the right hair care for your hair, then you better keep on watching. What is this story? Everyone welcome to yet another hairdressing 101 film and, in today's film, like i said, we're going to be talking about picking out the hair care for your hair because from the feedback that i'm getting from my comment, section loads of people get confused whether they need shampoo. Whether they need a mask whether they need a heat protector, oil, etc, etc. So we're gon na break down everything and i'm gon na help. You pick out the right products for your hair, so it's gon na be easier for you to shop for your hair, all right when it comes to picking out the right hair care. We need to consider a few points. We need to set a budget, it's like with anything. If you go food shop and you set a budget when it comes to your skincare, you set a budget. You always be like why this is the amount of money i can spend on my hair, or this is the amount of money i can spend on the moisturizer. So budget is very important. You need to decide whether you're gon na invest in professional hair care or you're gon na go with the drugstore brands. Now, when it comes to professional hair care, if you ever in a hair salon, you cannotice a hair salon, usually stocks, few different brands. So you always have a really high end expensive brand. So that would be like your carry stuff. Then you'd have your mid-range and then you have your more affordable. So let's say your mid-range will be anything from like paul mitchell to moroccan oil and then like affordable. You have your siri expert or 11 australia, so there's different price ranges for everyone. Now, a lot of people do think that professional hair care products are really expensive, but you need to think like when you buy your skincare. Are you going to put nivea on your skin or you're going to use dermalogica it's same kind of idea? You need to think what you want to use now. I actually don't better research on drugstore brands and if i'm looking at my laptop here, like maui moisture in if i pronounce that correctly in boots costs 9.99 and then we have nexus in boots which costs 11.99 and then some pantene products do cost 6.99. So when we're thinking of drugstore, everything goes anywhere from five to let's say 12 euro max now, if we're thinking about siri expert, for example, which is a professional hair care range and nutrifier from siri expert - is 11 45 and now you're literally spending few quid more. But you're really investing in your hair, so you need to set that budget. But then, if you want to spend a lot more and use carousel go for it. You know everyone is different and like that the benefits of a professional hair care range is that you get a better product. It works better. Technology in them is better and they're more concentrated, so you're, actually using less product when it comes to drugstores. There'S some amazing products. I think, because i don't really know drugstore brands like loads of people, always ask me: what should i get in boots? I actually don't know because i'm not trained and i don't use them on a daily when it comes to professional hair care. I use it all the time, so i can answer you that question so budget is very important. You need to tell yourself right. This is how much i can spend on my hair and my hair range. You need to commit to using the right hair care range right, and what do i mean by this shampoos? Conditioners? Hair masks are not your asus next delivery. I mean it takes a while for shampoo to actually work it's same as your skin care like if you think, you're going to put on a moisturizer or a serum after one go boom, it's going to be amazing. No it's same with the hair care. It'S like medicine for your hair. You need to treat it and treat it. So commitment is very important need to be able to commit to the products like some ranges like dioxin. That is very good for hair fall and hair loss has a three-step range and you have to use three products together to get the full results so committing to it and being like right. I can do this is very important because there's no point of view. Once of buying like kerosene, shampoo and then using, like, i don't know, garnier conditioner and then going back to like something else like you really need to commit to the product establishing your hair needs is very important, so you really need to think about your hair concerns And you probably often heard me talking about hair concerns about different hair ranges and when it comes to picking the right hair care, you always have to prioritize your first hair concern. For example, if your hair is dry and oily and has split ends, you really have to sit down and think and be like right. What is my priority? Is it the oiliness? Is it the dry hair or is it the ends so choosing the writing is very important. Why? Because, for example, if you're going to use a shampoo that is for color treated hair and then you're going to use conditioner, that is hydrating and then you're going to go in and you're going to use a heat protector that is for blonde. Your hair just doesn't know what to do with it. It'S like throwing loads of different remedies at a person, and your hair is just not responding right to it. So you really need to think about your hair concern first. So, for example, if your hair is really dry and frizzy, you need to be like white. Is it the frizziness? That is my hair concern, or is it the dryness? So then you decide right. I'M really worried about the dryness. So then, you pick out correct hair care range for dry hair. You treat that first until the dryness goes away and then you can treat frizziness now some hydrating hair care ranges do help the frizz. But really you need to think about what is your main hair concern? If you don't know whether your hair is dry or is it sensitized or it's oily or it's broken? It doesn't cost anything to walk into a hair salon and ask a professional. You can go in and just say, listen! This is my hair. What would you recommend and that will kind of give you an idea to what is wrong with your hair? Now we need to know what products we need to use so when it comes to choosing the right products, you're like right, you'll need shampoo and a conditioner. That'S a given so like that. We determine your hair concerns so that way, you'll be able to determine what shampoo and conditioner you will need. Now, if your hair is thicker - and when i mean by hair is thicker, it means the hair is coarser and is a lot thicker. I actually had a person asking me: how can you define fine versus stick hair? Fine hair is when there is very little hair, so my hair would be considered as fine. But if your hair is a lot thicker, there's a lot more hair density and there's a lot more hair on your scalp. So that would be thicker hair. And if your hair is thicker, you'd always go for a mask mask is not really something you'd use once a week mask is something that is created for thicker hair. So it's a conditioner for thicker hair. Then we need to determine whether we need a heat protector or oil right. If you straighten your hair a lot if you're blow drying your hair a lot a heat protector is a must. Now, if you let your hair dry, naturally, i don't see a reason why you should use a heat protector, but if it's something you do constantly, if a hair straightener is your best friend, if you blow dry, your hair daily, a heat protector is a must now, When it comes to the oil you really need to ting, is it white, so oil tames, the hair nourishes, takes the frizz out. So if that's something you need, oil is an additional product, but when it comes to the correct hair care, you need a shampoo conditioner or a mask and then a leave-in in styling product. Now, if you have curly hair, you probably need like a curl hydrating cream. If you're lacking in volume, you need something that is volumizing, so i'd always recommend having a styling product as if you've watched me before. You know that i put a lot of product into my hair after i shampoo it and that's just for styling now i do use a heat protector and i use styling products, so i put a lot into my hair. I think this is very important because the amount of people that choose the wrong products for their hair the amount of times i came across clients they're like oh, i need a clarifying shampoo and i'm like why, because my hair is oily. No, you need something. That'S oil balancing if you're blonde you'll probably go for something that is for blonde hair, so you'd go for a nice, hydrating or anti-breakage shampoo and then you're gon na use a conditioner for blonde hair or a mask and a purple shampoo, probably once a week. So you really need to know how to choose the wide range. So you need to determine whether your hair is dry, your hair is sensitized or if you want to preserve the color in your hair. So if you're, like copper or red, or you have crazy color that fades really quickly, you need something like color saving shampoo. If your hair is really frizzy or it's hard to manage, you need something that's going to tame the frizz, so you really need to sit down and be like right. What are my hair concerns? So everything goes back around in circles so when it comes to choosing the white hair care range, we need to think of the budget and how much we're willing to spend on the hair. Because there's no point of you spending once off on an amazing, shampoo and a conditioner and then not committing to it and you're back to square one. You need to determine your hair needs and choosing the right hair products. So obviously, you're gon na need a shampoo and a conditioner and a mask, and then you need to think it's like right. Do i air dry, my hair and is my hair frizzy? So if your hair is frizzy, you're gon na put something at the frizz. If you air dry it and your hair is curly you're gon na put something for curl or if your hair is lank like mine. You'D, probably add something for texture, but if you blow dry, your hair and your hair is dry. You'D need a heat protector that will nourish the hair and protect it from heat at the same time, so you guys, i hope this really helps and will help you to narrow down what you need for your hair and how to choose the correct hair care range For your hair, anyways guys thank you for watching today's film. I hope you found this for a matter interesting, helpful and useful. Please, like share comment and subscribe to my channel, also check out my other social media and, of course, you guys. Svetluš Ka: This is the most useful video I watched on youtube... everyone only talks about skincare these days, but what about hair? Thank you for this!! ‍♀️❤️

Christine Milenova: I was so intimidated by haircare products even though my mom is a hairdresser and I'm so happy I found your channel, now I'm much more confident after watching your videos thank you! Also, love your hair

N for the Nature: Your videos have been helpful! I’ve been looking for a lot of thing to bring my hair to it former glory and then I remember that my shampoo and conditioner aren’t what my hair need So here I am, looking for dry vs damage hair and I found your channel! And now I’m going to binge watch your videos for quite awhile.

Ivens Lira: Thanks a lot for the help one more time Mike! I Really get why people get so confused. I’m new in this whole “journey” of know your hair nature. In a couple days I read about how good is glycerin and in other blog I read that is very bad. Same for sulphate. Same for silicones. Same for clarifying shampoos.... (curly girl method pros and cons)....... So yes is very confusing. I did a test on Kérastase website to find the best products for me and it came the big picture of understand the hairs concern, like you said. I have curly thin medium to short hair, dry ends and with dandruff condition. Some people say that is not ok use oils with coconut or olive oil..... but I need to find a Leave in/styling product that my scalp don’t get mental..... so the confusion goes on.... so yes is like a journey and sometimes is frustrating.... I’m not complaining at all.. my point is: like you said, you have to commit to. Thanks a million again Mike for your content, results of your good work!

Laurie Luz: Love the information! I have been using the keratase baine for 6 months and has helped with my oily roots! Thank you for the introduction to it!! I have been intimidated with hair products. Currently looking for an appropriate conditioner for myself with oily roots, hair thick but less density, lack of volume and straight. Any suggestions for conditioner and other necessary hair products?

Am Rei: Great video! It’s really not easy to find haircare that really matches your hairtype. I started using Olaplex out of curiosity and really like it, though I am not sure if it’s the perfect fit for my hair. Do you have a recommendation for fine, dry, frizzy hair that lacks volume (sounds great, I know)? Also, I have lots of baby hairs that wont grow longer. I will search through your videos- maybe you already posted something helpful. Thanks for the great content! ☺️

Melissa Ahmade: Thank you Mike power packed ten minutes and very informative. Never tried the loreal shampoo & conditioner. Keratase was great for my wedding can't really afford that every day but great for special occasions.

Meghi Dedja: Love your videos! I’ve been struggling with hair loss due to low iron, but all the hair loss shampoos make my scalp super greasy! There is no escape!

Ihatedayslikethis1: My hair is colored but also gets oily rather fast (I think lockdown altered my hair and skin quite a bit). I wish I could find a color safe shampoo that cleanses well without stripping the color. Great video as always!

Raj x: Mike you need to create your own hair care range! I buy everything you recommend

Heidi Scott: Great Video Mike. Can you recommend a scalp scrub/detox and what are the benefit of doing this regularly? Would this also do an effective cleanse removal of build up of silcones?

Orlaith dilleen: Love your videos I'm having a huge problem with washing my hair and the product sticking in it after washing and drying. It's so heavy and greasy feeling. Ive thick frizzy hair. A hairdresser recommended ColorNow shampoo as a light shampoo but it's not improved much. Any advice ?

Lindsay Meyer: I just bought a repairing type of product line (just yesterday!)after determining my first priority is sensitized/damaged hair. In your your opinion, how long should I commit to a product line before deciding whether it works? i imagine at least a couple months if not longer? What do you think? My hair is really damaged and blonde, if that helps! Thanks!

Anémona: Mike, my hair tangles a lot. It is sensitized but when it was virgin and heat free it still tangled a lot, specially near the neck. It is dense but fine in diameter, I always thought it was due to friction against my clothes but it should happen to everybody then! What kind of products should I look for this specific problem? I can't find a proper category. Thank you so much for your help!

Ahmet Ziya Aktaş: These are all quite useful and informative tricks. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Ajimi Family: Love your videos and love that your answering to every questions .great job

Cosmetic Kharisma: Hi Mike! Awesome video, my question is, I have fine hair but know that I’m using kerastase, I’m only using the shampoo and a mask, no conditioner... should I get the conditioner and use the mask once in a while? Thank you in advance

Chantel Groves: Hi Mike I have thick hair in amount and texture with slight movement, so I bought the redken color extend shampoo and all soft conditioner. Is it ok to have them in different ranges or is best to stick to one range? I chose color safe shampoos because they are more gentle and I have color on my head and the all soft conditioner to treat dry ends.

Chiara: Ok so… my scalp is oily so I’m thinking about getting the og Bain Divalent, but what about fine hair that tends to create split ends really easily, has hair loss and needs hydration? Which conditioner/oil/serum should I consider? It doesn’t matter if it’s from Kerastase or L’Oréal Professional ❤️ thank youuuu

Samanta Rizzi: Love your channel! You’re so informative without sounding like a smart-ass! :D

Daniel Limachi: Great advice as usual you do!! you deserve more subscribers!!!

Sophie Usta: So I have a very oily scalp + dry kinda damaged lengths and ends also I have fine hair Is it okay to use Kerastase Bain divalent? And what would be the best conditioner to use ? I also got the Kerastase resistance masque therapiste to use once a week + I don’t really have a budget but would love something from Kerastase

Joaquín R. R.: Hi there! Would you consider doing some research on drugstore products that you could potentially recommend? I don't think it should be rushed or anything but as you even said there are some good products out there. Anyways... love you and support you! <3

jujubunnybea: Hi Mike , what's a good heat protectant that's moisturizing ? I have fine hair that I blow dry and my flat iron is my BFF ... I'm ALWAYS looking for products to fight off having dry hair ... Thank You so much

Mei: I do set a budget, then I watch your videos... Bye bye budget. Love your videos. I get bored after a month and always chasing a miracle. This video helps. ♥️

Stephanie McGowan: Thank you!! I am in the process of going icy platinum, with thick hair, tends to get oily on the third day, and I have hard water. I think I have a little bit of it all!!

C C Hand: Hey mike I know this is a year old video. I can't afford real expensive shampoo and hair conditioner. Maybe around the 15.00- 18.00 price range. I don't out color on my hair anymore or bleach it. I have coarse straight hair that takes forever to dry and it looks frizzy. From what I have read I have low porosity hair. I have hard water but I have a filter on my shower head. I don't want anything loaded with harsh silicones that are not water soulutable. What would you recommend for my hair type? I have started to grey some. Thanks for expert advice.

Shelby: The thickness of the hair is the actual hair strand not how much hair you have. You can have fine hair and a lot of it or medium hair and a lot of it or course hair and a lot of it so the thickness of the actual hair strand is important when choosing the right products

Tania Walsh: Just found your channel and love it! I hope you can answer me on this. Fine hair, blond highlights, few broken pieces of hair from a fire incident last summer.. Im undecided if I should focus on reinforcing my hair for hairgrowth or just a line for blonde. Could you recommend a line for me ?? Thanks in advance :)

Louisa Kristensen: Now I have seen this video, and I will say that one of my biggest hair problems is an oily scalp. But can I still use the Kérastase Genesis to my hair loss/hair fall or the Kérastase Resistance Bain Extentioniste to grow a long hair, even that I have an oily scalp? :)

alice92: very clear and detailed explanation of hair.❤

Ludmilla Carneiro: Thank you very much, Mike! It was really helpful!

Coucou Ro: I have sensitive scalp, damage and coloured hair. Which shampoo do I use or it's better to combine?

Inês Lira: I do not understand how you don't have more likes. Great content, thank you so much! Have seen, like, 5 video and already learnt so much.

Shn BM: Helpful as usual!. I’m waiting for new videos about products for frizzy and dry hair

Emily Stephanie: What products do you recommend for blonde, frizzy hair? It doesn't matter the budget. Thanks in advance

yas: i use dry shampoo quite often but i'm trying to cut back on it since i do feel my scalp become more flaky and itchy afterwards - its frustrating since my hair becomes oily in a matter of hours so i need a shampoo that treats a very dry scalp that overproduces oil however i have very dry ends since my hair is blonde so it can be difficult to know what to use

Amanda Sawyer: That was really interesting Mike, thank you

Erin Brookes: Your hair can be fine but high density. Fine or thick is more describing the individual strand thickness. There’s density, hair pattern and strand thickness. My strands are fine, but my hair is wavy and medium density so I need to use masks.

nur siah: I love your videos and subscribed for sure Xoxo oh yeah I have a question My hair is medium length and I just dye it red last month, is it ok to re dye again with the same color? My hair is dry and has scalp problem I used head&shoulder but not worked for me so I changed to Redken and it’s works not much of dandruff and doesn’t feel itchy like before though!!

Emmleaaaa: This was super helpful! I just discovered you. Your eye brows look great

Mani: Hi Mike My hair is curly and it gets dry after three days of shampooing. Currently using hair mask which smoothens my hair and gives shine. Can you talk about baby hair like when i tie my hair back my hair doesn't sit on scalp and baby hairs are popping out... if i set sideways they don't... and how to bind the curls together for long time like if i touch my hair or tie the curls.. my scalp to mid area get wavy and only at ends curls stay how to maintain the curls with and without tying hair.. when i shampoo only that day they are at their best rest day i have to set it by wetting it again

Pritha Mukherjee: Hey...Hi.... i am.frm India and i loved ur way of explaining the hair products for good haircare. Being an Indian... i have black hair and i do colour my hair a lot with reds n maroons (goes good with my dusky complexion). Recently...i have noticed taht colour does not stay long on my hair....do after 5-10 washes...the colours jus goes off....leaving my hair dry n dull. Can you suggest me a way out of this problem pls.?

Пясъчна Кухня: I am confused, after watching this video I've got the impression that all the products we are using should be addressing the most problematic issue we have. Then I watch your video how to care for fine, oily hair where you use so many different things addressing several hair conditions. Can you explain?

rlegal associates: Your content is very valuable.

Alicia Mortley: Can I ask you a question What can I use for dry skin

Priya R: My hair feels little frizzy after blow dry. M using ghd helios hair dryer. Any serum that you recommend to lock the blow dry?

Mekoz: Very educating. Thanx

Kenneth Bergmann: Hey Mike, can you help answer some of my questions here? There are a number of things that make me (and maybe a few others out there) feel confused and need help but can't find it in online discussion forums, or blogs, etc. Ok, on to the main topic, I dyed my hair not long ago, and when I dyed my hair I thought it needed special care according to the conditions, finally I decided to switch my regular shampoo that I usually use (Loreal Density Adanced) to shampoo that is intended for color treated hair (Loreal Vitamino Color) but I think I don't feel quite satisfied with the result because it makes my scalp get greasy very quickly and the hair near the roots looks so limp on the second day (I wash my hair every 2-3 days depending on the condition and needs) whereas I didn't feel that bad when using my old shampoo. In your opinion, if I go back to my old shampoo is it safe if I use it for my colored hair? I mean will it fade the colors faster or something? Please answer my question, thank you.

Andjela pommom: I learn recently that if i use masks with silikons (kerastase, loreal, marroconoil ) i need clarifying shampoo as well once in the month...30 year i didn't know that ‍♀️ weird but have sense, to remove plastic need plastic

Aqsa Mughal: I love your videos!! Would you share a small feedback on Bain extensionsite ☺️

Mignon Cabrera: What about for heavy hairfall? I run my finger on my hair and a lot of hair is coming out.

Nesi Beauty: The Olaplex shampoo is super volumizing!

Madhulika Kumari: My hair is more on wavier side, medium thick strand, scalp feels dry almost whatever shampoo I use if I use mild shampoo sulphate free it seems it doesn't feel clean and I find whitish grey substance but it's not dandruff and weigh down and if I use shampoo with sulphates seems it strips all natural oil if my hair my hair becomes extremely dry but then conditioner and mask also doesn't seem to work. I have never coloured my hair or used heating tools so much. I fail to understand my scalp is dry, but gets greasy, my lengths are dry too and I get split ends very easily. Plz suggest something. You think would workout for me.

Chrissy Byotch 969: Should I use the loreal pro longer series expert line on my curly hair ?

Sherrie S: My hair is thick density wise i have so so much of it. However my strands are fine rather than corse. I still use masks and heavier conditioners am I being correct ? Ps your channel is fab

Ioana I: hello! What do you think about living proof (restore) products? Is it worth the money? I'm looking for a sulfate-free shampoo and a nourishing conditioner for fine but damaged hair. I can never decide:))) Ps: love your videos

Jennifer Gallares: i love watching all your videos ♥♥

AJ_Zidare: What is the best heat protectant in your opinion?!

Iris: For me dry, frizzy hair but oily scalp what would you recommend me ?

Bhavya Gautam: Hey, My hair is long they are wavy to curly hair and thick. They are very dry, frizzy and their texture is bad. Can you please help me in suggesting some products I have watched many videos about products but till I am not able to select one and got really confused. Thank you

alice92: Reallllyyyy help.. thank ur advice❤❤❤❤ i need frizzy shampoo

Tina Tz: Very good video!!!

Pica So: I have type 2C dry frizzy hair..which shampoo brand is gud ? .

Ali M: Love this

Molly Liu: Lovely as usual. Muah!
