Hello, everyone so today we're going to be making a hair bow and we're going to be using this free template. I will pop this google file down in the description box, the link, so you can download it too and print it out. So what i've done is i've printed mine onto a piece of paper and then i'm going to cut around this and then once i've cut rounder, i'm going to draw around the paper onto a piece of card. So i've got a nice sturdy card template to keep to use. When i want, obviously you could print it straight onto card if you've got some but um. My card has already been cut into. I keep spare bits for my templates that way: i'm not printing half a page on each and wasting too much cards, so this is the way i prefer to do it. So i've cut my template out onto card transferred the paper version onto the cardboard, so i've got this template that i can now pop into my folder and use it whenever i want um. I did try one out before and i noticed that these tails are actually slightly too long for the bow, so you can actually, when you're cutting it out, make these towels a little bit shorter. You can do it on your paper version first. I obviously didn't. I didn't realize till after i tried a version out, but i'll show you anyway, how it pans out. So i've picked out some fabrics. I want to use i've gone for this. I thought i'm going to go for a mermaid theme, so i've got this lovely mermaid tail. I'Ve gone for a scale fabric in the purple to bring out the purple in the bottom of the bow. This lovely glitter for the tails, which is going to match the scales, and then i've got this rainbow fabric, which has got purples and blues in it. I'M going to try and place my template where these colors are to bring out the colors in this as well and to tie it all together. So i'm going to draw on my scale fabric first you'll notice on my template. I'Ve put one on one side and a two on the other, because when you draw on your fabric to make both half the bow you'll draw on this side for one half of the bow and then you'll flip it and draw on the other side to make The other half of the bow so that they're opposite when you join it together, so starting off with the number one side up, i'm going to make sure my scales are pointing downwards, then i'm going to draw around my template so for the other half of the Bow i'm using this rainbow fabric and i'm just trying to figure out where i want a bit of purple and a bit of blue on it. So i'm thinking, if i do it here, i know i've still got the one side up, but that's because i'm on the front side of the bow just move that piece to one side. So i'm basically going to turn it over flip my template over. So i've got the two on the face and upwards now and i'm just gon na try and fit that in to use this little pack fabric as possible, and next we need our tail template, of which i'm going to use this gorgeous purple glitter these fabrics all Came from aliexpress now we're ready to cut all three pieces out now i used viro on mine. You can get disappearing, ink pens or invisible ink pens where they fade over time, but i just cut mine out inside the line like that. So, as you can see, i'm cutting off the line, so you don't get the pen mark on the underside. So that's a good tip for you. So here we have all three pieces cut out and, as you can see, by laying them out like this, you can see that this is opposite, so the scales will actually go downwards. So this one goes up. This side goes down, so there i've flipped the template over. So this one was cut from this way round and this one was cut the other way around. Hence the one and the two on there so make sure you mark that. So i'm going to do my leatherette piece first, so to make the bow you want to place a piece of glue on those little end tabs, and then you basically meet them up on the middle on this angled part. So, where that angled part is they just meet neatly in the middle like that? So that's one piece made and then for the next piece you're going to line where this angle piece is you're, going to line the angled pieces up in the middle. But before i glue it, i'm just gon na make sure that i've got it in the right place, so they'll meet at the back like this. So they'll line up like that and i'm just going to pop some hot glue under that center piece. So this is the front of the bow where you meet them up at the back. That will be the back of the bow. So that's now stuck down i'm going to flip it over and then we're going to do the same. We'Re going to bring these two pieces over to meet neatly in the middle, so i'm going to place a little bit of glue on each of those little tabs at the end, and i'm going to fold that side in to meet up in the middle and that Side in to me up in the middle and i'm just sliding it so that they are not wonky, that's right, that's right and make sure they're level on either side, and that is what the actual bow shape looks like when you've put the two pieces together. It'S a gorgeous shape. You can really play around with this bow as well, because you've got the two sides you can really mix and match different fabrics and styles and patterns. Now we're going to stick this on the tails, so i'll do the tail i'll, put the glue onto the tails and then making sure you stick where the joins are at the bottom down onto the tail all right. Next, we're ready to add a clip, so i've pre-lined a crocodile clip here with some purple ribbon to match my bow. You don't have to use a lined clip, as i say in all my videos. I do like to have lined clips on mine personally. Just stick that on the bottom, under your tails and then for the center, i've cut another little strip, and this is around a centimeter wide by around five centimeters in length. I'D say: yeah around five centimeters in length, i'll just cut it by eye and then i'm going to pop that on the underside under my clip and then i'm going to wrap that around the center of my bow trimming off any excess and then pop that again. Under your clip to finish it off, and now we can embellish our bow, you could leave it like that. It does look nice, just as it is i'm going to add my mermaid tail and some little pearls. So i've got my mermaid tail and i've also got these pearls, which are blue and, like a pinky color, i thought they'd go well with my tails and my bow. I'M using some gorilla super super glue gel to stick my tail on. So i'm going to stick that in the middle kind of at an angle play some super glue in the middle and in the center of my bow. Just hold it there for a few seconds to make sure that that glue sets and then i'm going to add a few of these little pearls so again using the gorilla glue, i usually use tweezers but, as usual they've gone walkabouts um. I don't want to stick my fingers. What i'm going to do, i'm going to put the glue on the bow, i'm placing three pearls here: three pearls here, starting with the center one and there you have your finished mermaid themed, hair bow using the free template. Don'T forget, the link for the template is in the description under the video i'll, also link um, where i purchased these fabrics or link, as many as i can find. This was the one i made earlier. I did a butterfly theme and on this one i did to cut those tails just trimmed them slightly, because they just looked too long on the bow. They actually didn't like, say, look too bad on the mermaid one, but just down your general preference really once you've finished the bow, you can then decide if you want to make the tail shorter or not, but this one i didn't touch. That is how the template printed out to the size, the actual finished size of the bow, is four inches. This was four inches wide. The tails - i hope you enjoyed this tutorial if you've got any questions pop them into the comments below and i'll do my best to get back to you. Thank you for watching guys take care now. Bye,
