Attaching Barrettes Or Clips To Your Bows

Learn to attach your hair bows to an alligator clip or barrette. The barrettes used are available at http://www.hair-hardware.com/french-ba... and the hair clips at http://www.hair-hardware.com/hair-clip...

You'Re finished pose to the hardware that you choose to use. It'S actually really easy to do. I do get a lot of questions about it, so I thought I'd show you how I do it here. I have my finished bow and in this case I'm going to attach this bow to French barrette. This is a 50 millimeter French barrette. You can line this with ribbon or you can attach it just plain like this, which is what I'm going to do, and all you need to do is simply put a bead of hot glue along the top of the barrette, and then this is the trickiest part. You just have to very carefully Center Center the burette, and then the boom is curved, so you're going to want to push those ends of the bow on either side of the barrette making. Sure you have some of the bow adhere to the whole thing. You'Ll get a nice secure grab that way, you won't have to worry about the bow coming off of the alligator clip. Sometimes, if the bow is really big, you can use these holes on the end and sew it, and that way that will hold it even more secure. In this case, it's a pretty small bow and it's a small alligator clip and it's going to hold just fine and that's how you attach it to a French barrette. You can also attach it to an alligator clip and again you can use the alligator clip a lined alligator clip or a plain alligator clip. In this case I have the plain alligator clip you're going to want to do the same thing. The only thing that's a little trickier with the alligator clip is when you apply the glue bead to the top you're going to want to squeeze it and open it like that. Otherwise, you're going to get the glue in the middle and you're not gon na, be able to open up the alligator clip. So I squeezed it open and I put a bead of glue across the top and then I very carefully put the barrette on there push it into place using hot glue and adheres very quickly, and now this bow has been attached to a single prong alligator clip

sara maschmidt: Just started making bows! Thanks for this video! Very helpful!

LaRae McMullen: I have tried to hot glue before and after a while the bow will come off of the clip. I find if you wrap the middle ribbon around the clip and hot glue that works great - or you can use E6000 and let it sit for 24 hours and that seems to work better - for me anyway. I love all your videos! Thanks for all the great information.

Briana Cervenka: if you line the alligator clip first you don't have to worry about glue going through the hole. Plus it makes the bow look more professional. Also, if you wait to attach the center knot after the bow is glued to the clip, you can use that ribbon to wrap around the clip (or barette) making it more secure. Lastly, a high temp gun tends to hold better than a low temp (although I prefer low temp so I don't burn myself as much)

asianmaggot23: I love your tutorials! thankyou so much! (:

Heather Bennett: i've made tons of hairbows, using hot glue in my experience is way better then the fabric glue. The fabric glue doesn't hold as long as hot glue, the bows fall apart a lot quicker and come off the clips easier

Laura Gilbert: Happy to help - hope it turns out great.

Alexandra Rodriguez Cotto: Can I use fabric glue instead?

cuco m: como puedo hacer esos moños estan muy lindos

Sherry michie: is the hot glue strong enough to hold the clip to the bow.

Gary Goh: can you stick a bow into a clip without hot glue?

LullabyeLaura: I prefer the alligator clips with teeth. I feel they have a better grip on my hair and stay put longer :)

Cristina Guerra: How do you attach the alligator clips with the teeth on them to a bow?  Those are curved and I find that metal to ribbon doesn't adhear as well as ribbon to ribbon so I want to put ribbon on the clip to attach it.  Any suggestions?

MamiYare: is that felt that you added to the back of the bow?

bellaprincess80: Thank you!!

The Mighty Miss M: When I heard the door first start opening....I thought "How RUDE!" ahhaha! Thank you for the video :)

Brtty Withrow: What is that bow called? I used hot glue on my bows and they did not stay on. Betty

Rebecca Cooke: Which hot glue is best to use

LisetteR: @LexaRican: Probably not, because that won't stick to the clip
