Hey everyone today, i'm going to show you how to make a bow using tool. A found tool is quite hard to work with and quite hard to get right, it's hard to get the sides right and just to get a nice bow overall, but i found a method that works really well. This tool is just a holographic dots tool. You can get some beautiful ones on the market now, like ones with little glitter flecks in, but this stuff. I'Ve had because i used to make two two dresses and two two skirts. I'Ve got rolls and rolls of this stuff. So this that's. Why i'm using this particular sort of holographic dot tool, but yeah you can get some beautiful ones so yeah. I will show you how to make this perfect pinch tool. Hair bow, i'm using this six inch wide holographic dot till i got this from aliexpress. That'S a hundred yards on the roll i've laid out on my carpet just because the best i could surface i could find where you could actually see, because i'm using a white tool for this bow and it's got holographic dots on the tool that so i've laid It out and i've used a hair grip to mark mark 58 centimeters i'll just show you on my ruler. Sorry, i'm using one hand. So if i line that up there and that's a 58 58 centimeters or 23 inches in length and i've just popped, a hair popped, a hair clip on there just to mark where i need to cut it. So that's 58 centimeters! Now, when i cut it, i want to cut it. I want to cut it around four inches wide, so i'm going to cut all the way down the tool four inches wide. I actually tend to do it by eye, so i'm just going to put a little nick in there. So now that's where the four inches is or 10 centimeters, and i'm now going to cut that all the way up to that hair clip just carefully all the way up, just doing it by eye so cut that all the way up to where the hair clip Is i've stopped where this hair clip is, and then i'm going to cut this off across the top? Keep this piece i'll show you why later and then this is the piece we're going to use to make our hair bow so taking your piece of tool that you've just cut the four inch wide piece, as you can see, i've just roughly cut it. That'S not perfectly even, but that's fine that don't matter too much you'll see the finished bow. At the end, i've laid on my work top with the holographic dots facing downward, using a tape measure i'm going to measure up three inches, because that's how wide i'm basing it on sort of three inch wide ribbon. So that's three inches or seven and a half centimeters wide. So i'm just going to put my finger there at the seven and a half centimeter mark and i'm gon na just make a fold. You don't have to be too accurate. Just roughly around seven and a half centimeters, and now we're going to keep folding it all the way along so and when you get to the end, you need to take a needle and thread, so i've got a needle knotted at the end. Double strength thread. Taking your till i'm just going to fold it in half and give it a little pinch to mark where the halfway mark is, you can just see where that fold is going in through the first edge, we're going to do eight stitches. So one two three four five, six seven eight just like that, pulling that tight all the way through and then i'm just gon na pop, my needle through this hoop, because sometimes with this being sort of the open mesh that knot can slip right through there. So i'm just going to pull this tight from this side, making that pinch now some people don't like to sew. You don't have to sew the pinch. If you prefer, you can just do the pinch by hand to do the pinch by hand i'll just kind of show. You just push it down in the middle and then fold it and then the side down and then bring this side up and down. And you can fold your own pinch by hand, but i just like to do mine with a needle and thread. That'S my personal preference. Just to get that neat pinch wrap that round a few times, i'm just gon na seal, that off on the underside like that trim off that excess cotton. And then, when you turn your bow over just fluff that all out and these sides, they can sometimes go a little bit squiffy where you've folded it just take in your scissors trim off those rough edges like that. Do the same on the opposite side, just fluff that up trim off those rough edges like that, and there is your basic bow shape now, as you can see with the length of ribbon, i used that's just the not the perfect opacity, because if you have too Many layers and it's too thick - you lose that sort of transparent tool effect, and i wanted to try and keep a little bit of the transparency, because it's just a really pretty effect with the tool. You don't want it too, thick and bulky. So that is why i cut the tool to that length that i do right. Next, we are going to add a clip. I'Ve already pre-lined a 45 millimeter hair clip with some white matching ribbon. I'M gon na grab my hot glue gun pop some hot glue across to my clip, lay that across the center on the underside and then for the center. I'M going to use this glitter fabric that i got from aliexpress pop some glue on one end pop that under my clip now you only want to wrap around glitter one time, so you wrap it around twice. It'S going to be too bulky under the clip. So i only ever wrap glitter around the center of my hair bow one time. That'S all that's needed, trim off that excess and just fluff that back out and there you have your perfect pinch tool, hair, bow i'll, show you the pink one again, as you can see, there's just a really nice neat finish every time doing it. This way, whether you choose to sew or pinch by hand, now with that piece that i told you to keep at the start, this piece here that works out around one and a half inch or four centimeters wide. This bit is handy to keep to make these little sort of rosette flower shapes. As you can see, i've used one on this little pink. Flamingo hair bow i've just layered that underneath so yeah keep that a little off cut. Make that part again. You need your needle and double strand thread knotted at the end and going on which the side as i cut, i think that's this side. I tried to use the raw side, which i cut by hand you need to just go, make sure the holographic dots are on the upside. You want to go in and out all the way across the bottom half so in out in out in out in out you're, just weaving in and out that fabric all the way across once you get to the end, make sure you come out, pull that thread. All the way to the knot, i'm just going to pop my needle through that knot from the other end, so i don't lose that through the mesh and the chill pulling that tight and then on the underside, i'm just gon na seal that off bringing those sides Together, just go in and out through that center piece, a couple of times that will just seal that off and then you have your little rosette flower shape and you can just set that aside and keep hold of that and that'll be ready to use on another Project there's the pink one i kept from the pink bow. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial today if you've got any questions pop them into the comments below and i'll do my best to get back to you. Thank you for watching bye, bye. You
