Hey guys, this is one from here, bus supplies, etc. Today we were making a sailor hair bow. This is a really really cute. Hair bow made out of fabric and you'll use a sewing machine. A little bit of hot glue, so you'll need 20 by 6. Inches of fabric and a little 4 inch by 2 inch piece of fabric as well. So let's go ahead and get started. First, you'll take your really pretty fabric and then we are going to fold it in half right sides together. So what you're going to do is you're going to sew here on a diagonal and then you're going to stop at the 1/4 inch length. I'Ve got a diagram here that I've showed you to explain how we're going to sew. It sew it from this point here. All the way up on an angle and then you'll go all the way up. This is gon na, be the quarter inch seam here. So all the way here and then stop leave a space start again, go all the way down and then you'll go right at that angle and then you'll just want to match those two angles to be just like each other. Take your scissors and then trim off some of the excess and then click right at the corner. Go down to the other end, trim off your excess and then clip that corner okay go ahead and start turning it inside out here from the center go that direction. First and then let's go down this other side. This is a really super cute and popular hair bow right. Now I've seen little girls wear these a lot little baby girls and there's so many different sizes that you could do. The one that we're doing is, I think, mm I'll have to measure how wide our hair bow is here hold on this hair bow measures just over almost five and a half inches it's about five and a quarter inches wide. You can also make another hair bow using this same pattern. If you just do a 13 inches by 4 inches, that would make a 4 inch white hair bow. This is a really cool trick that my husband's grandma told taught me so just take your pencil and go through here. Go all the way to that corner and then use that pencil, but poke that cord are really pretty so my husband's grandma. She is 94 years old and oh by the way, take the pencil and run it up the seam and that will help pull that seam out too. So my husband's grandma is 93 or 94 this year. Maybe I think 94. So she makes handmade clothes and gives them away to needy children and she's been doing this for years and years and years. So when I first met my husband and I meet her, I'm like she's, the most amazing woman, I've ever met because she makes like a hundred outfits every year and then in there for little kids too. So she has these really cute patterns and these little cute dresses that she makes, and it's absolutely just the cutest thing and I'm like it's. It'S such a self-sacrifice, and I just think it's so amazing she's, just the most amazing person ever she's made quite a few pieces for our kids clothing and little sweet, blankets and such, and I just I treasure those so much. I'M always going to keep that and remember her and remember just what a good seamstress she's always been. What you want to do is take your iron. I earn this all the way down. Make sure that your hot glue gun is warm and then there's that one little piece here that we had unfilled just take your hot glue gun and then just put a dab of glue on the inside and close that this part will be hidden because we're going To cross this over with the bone should be all scrunched together. Okay, so now you have your whole piece and then take your ends and fold it towards each other and you're going to cross them. Just like this. Now that you have the tube sides crossed, you want to take it and flip it, so that this part stays in the front. And then you want to take your bow and then go ahead and pinch this Center so find your Center real, perfect and then pinch forward and then pitch for it again I'll be on now get some string and while you're holding on to that piece, take your String and wrap it around the back a few times to make sure that that's good and tight and then flip it around to the back, still hold onto your pinch and then tie a knot and there you go and then cut the string. Alright. So that's good to go for now. I always get so nervous when we do that part. So then, now that you have your knot tied now, you can adjust your bow. Okay, now take your piece. This is the four inches by two inches we're going to fold. It in half and in half again and then what you want to do is take those two pieces and we're going to hot glue that part together fold. It in thirds here put a dab of glue right here on the edge and then fold and thirds there make sure that doesnõt overlap just make sure there's a little bit over there on the edge and pinch that down and then we're going to hot glue. This to the center put a dab of glue in the center, put your center piece down in the middle and then flip your bow and that's how it's done. Thank you so much for joining us, and I appreciate you watching please be sure to subscribe to our Channel have a great day. Bye.

Veronica Bray: Oh my god this makes it do much easier and prettier than the other videos I saw! Thank you!

Usa_Chan0: Beautiful! Would anyone happen to know how to sew like that with a surger? I always used a sewing machine, but when that stopped working got a surger because I heard it can replace a sewing machine and do additional functions. Although I'm still learning how to use a surger and can't figure out how to use it in the "normal" way, like with single stitches like a sewing machine and not to sew edges.
