Hi everyone, i'm tiffany, welcome back to high heels and lashes. Let me show you how to make inexpensive hair extensions if you want long, luscious, hair, but you're left with thin straggly flat hair. Let me show you how to do it to this. Let me show you how to do it. The first thing i want you to do is to go to your local beauty supply here in arizona i go to sally's beauty supply, but i'm sure, if you don't live near one, you could do a quick google search and find one close to where you live And once you get to your beauty supply of your choice, i want you to look at all of the options, though, are probably going to have an entire wall of hair. But if they do, i want you just to immediately cancel out anything that says synthetic hair number one. It'S too shiny. It looks very artificial number two. You can't curl that hair when you curl it it'll just burn off on your curling iron, but instead i want you to look for hair that says 100 human hair. I know the thought is gross that it's been on someone else's head, but just don't think about it. This hair can be cut well, synthetic hair can be cut also, but human hair can be styled, it can be blown dry, it can be colored, it doesn't look shiny, so once you've chosen human hair, then i want you to choose a length. It comes in 16. 18, 20 and 22., if you're looking for shoulder length, go for the 16 inch if you're looking for something that goes just past, your bra strap go for the 18 inch length if you're looking for excessively long hair go for the 20 or the 22 inch length. Now, when you're choosing the color, if you have a lot of different hair colors like light and blonde and dark, if you have all those things, i'm going to teach you how to color hair extensions in an upcoming video. But if you have hair like mine, that's all one color, it's really easy to match it. So i chose this one here and what is this even called? Oh, i chose naturally blonde. I don't like my hair that white white color, and so i like the next one down and that's the naturally blonde. It'S still like a honey blonde, it's not the white blonde and don't get too upset if you can't find a perfect match. As you can tell, this is lighter than my hair, but once you put it in, you can't even tell so as long as you're in the ballpark of color. I think you're going to be surprised how well it'll match once it's put in after you've chose your hair extensions. You will see these clips they're, usually right beside the hair extensions, and these are what's going to attach the hair extensions to your natural hair. Choose a color that matches your hair extension, so i'm going to use these blonde ones for my hair extensions. Sometimes i dye my hair dark. That'S why i have these but they're about 1.99 they're, very inexpensive and you can use them over and over again thing. I want you to look for is uh this. These type of extensions. This is called a weft and instead of you will see, they have ones that are just one individual, hair separately. I don't want you to use those if you want to do it this way. I want you to look for hair, that's a weft, so it's all sewn together, so once i remove it, i'm going to remove it from the packaging. Sorry, one more so once you remove it from the packaging you'll see it looks like this, and this is the perfect way so once you remove it from the packaging you'll see, it looks like this see how it's all sewn together. That'S what the kind of hair. I want you to purchase this is perfect for the way i'm going to teach you. I have lots of different videos coming for lots of different ways to do hair extensions, but this is the easiest, and this is what i do now for sewing your hair extensions. I want you to picture where you want your hair extensions to go. You want them to go all the way around your head just below your occipital bone. So i want you to part that hair off okay. Can you see where i've parted that so i've done? Like a horseshoe around my hair and that's where i want the hair extensions to lay against my head here, okay, all the way around and then take the extensions. I call them hair weft. So this is a hair lift. Okay! So then you take the hair weft find the end, wrap it all the way around your head to this side to this side and use your thumb to measure that length on the hair extension. So this is the length of my head all. Well, not all the way around from the top of my ear to the other top of my ear. You don't want this hair to come all the way to the front, because you'll be able to see the clips, so you want to stay just a little bit off of your hairline, so i go to the top of my ear to the top of my ear. On the other, okay and then i've made a mark with my finger where i want to cut it, and then you end up with that now for myself, i like it doubled. I don't recommend this technique more than double, because then it makes like a bubble. It pushes out too far and you can see it so then i'm going to take it, take the hair. I just took the hair. I just then you take the hair that i just cut and with the remaining leftover hair from that weft, i have a lot. You double it, you match it, and then you cut the next section to match that one. So then you have this. You have two pieces, two sections that i'm going to sew together and these are the exact length from the top of my ear on this side. All the way around the back to the top of the ear on this side. Can you see that? Okay, okay, now for the leftover hair, i have a lot, so you will probably you'll be able to probably make another three sets of hair extensions with this long. Weft! Okay! So now that you have the hair extensions and you have the hair clips, they come in threes and what we're going to do is we're going to sew these two pieces together and then i'm going to sew the clips one on each end and one in the Middle so now i'll show you how to sew so then i'm going to start at the end and i'm going to sew all the way down to the other end. I am not the best sewer, but this is the way that works for me. So i'm just going to start right here at the very end and i'm going to make sure i get as close to the end as possible. That way it won't pull apart my so then you have a product that looks like that. Please note! I want you to sew the hair with those clippies against the hair, so this part flat to the hair. Don'T sew it that part flat this part down, because this is the part these little teeth, that's going to attach to your hair, so that when you get that all done, you just put it right there against your scalp and clip it in all the way around To that middle one and then to the side voila, you have hair extensions. So this is my natural hair and with hair extensions it just i don't know. I know it's kind of silly, because my hair is already long, but i just like it longer. So if you're going to wear your hair straight you're, all done you're ready to go. But if you want to curl it and wear. But if you want to curl it and wear it bigger, just go ahead and go through and put some big brow. Curls right through it remember to add your hair to each section, because that will camouflage it so pick up some of your natural hair and some of the hair extension and curl these together, and that way it kind of hides it a little bit better. So um, as far as taking care of hair extensions, just shampoo and condition them just like you would your own natural hair. The only thing is: do not blow dry them. It will just turn into a mess, so just lay them flat to dry. Do not try to comb them or brush them when they're wet wait till they've completely dried. My name is tiffany.
