#womenshairloss #wigs #ShrimpyMcGee

If you have wigs or helper hair or extensions that you need to travel with, or even just hair loss products and you're not sure how to take them with you, then stay tuned. This video is for you. My name is Helen and welcome to the shrimpy McGee channel and I would like you to introduce you to Raquel. Raquel is my girl. She and I have traveled a lot together. I used to wear her pretty much exclusively a couple years ago when I was completely bald and I have some tricks that I learned for bringing her around just told her around town, like the funtime girl that she is, and so let's get right into those. So I've been seeing a lot of videos about traveling with wigs and clip-in extensions, and people are just making it way harder than it needs to be. You really don't need too much. What I do is that I use either a shower cap and don't worry if you don't have a shower cap, I got you, then all you need is a plastic bag. I see a lot of people use ziplock bags and those are just not my favorite. This is actually a full size one and just have it fold it up. These are not my favorite and I'm gon na. Tell you why. Basically, I find with the ziplock bag they're kind of skinny - I don't know, even if you get the larger size, there's something about them, that's kind of too flat and then also I don't really love to lock up my wigs because I like them to get some Air, so I find that then, even if I do put it in here, I'm not really getting the full benefit, because then I've got to snip this shut or I've got to try and push the air out and then snip it shut. So I don't bother. I'M gon na show you what I do. Here'S Raquel lying down on my bed. What I love to use, though, for wigs and traveling, are these clips. They come so in handy. I'M just gon na show you how I do this. So right has a bit of a longer length, wig, and so I see people like put this in a box and stuff the cap with tissue paper and who's got time. For that I am packing my stuff, I'm packing my kids stuff. I just I don't have time to be finding with a box, that's the right size and like tissue, I I'm not going to like the dollar store to get tissue paper. I don't have newspapers anymore because who's reading newspaper, like paper and newspapers in rock, I just don't - have this stuff. So what I just do is I just give her a little twist back here at the longer part - and I just kind of put it up here and then I just grab my handy butterfly clip my just clip it there like that. If I have a shower cap, I just insert it. I just take her and put her inside and she is usually perfectly happy like that. So there we are right, this compresses down, you don't have to push the air out, because the air will naturally go out and it gets pretty flat. As you see, it's gon na be pretty flat and I've always done this and it's always worked out. Well, I can take her back out and she won't have tangles or anything like that, so shower curtain that the kind just the inexpensive plastic kind. You can pick up from a hotel room that works really good for traveling with and then you just pop this in your luggage or if you don't have that listen, I got you, you don't need to like get ziplock bags or anything like that. Just leave her clips up like this and honestly, this is very low-rent, just a grocery style bag, don't use ones, you've had actual grocer reason. Obviously, like I don't need to tell you not to put this in the bag that came from the butcher shop. That might have blood on the inside story, for you vegans, I know that's gross, but for the rest of us just make sure it's a clean one that came, you know from the drugstore or whatever. Then you just put her in and she will be perfectly happy like that, and so there you go you just pop it in to your luggage. You know, don't let it crop get crushed, let it get crushed it honestly. I'Ve. Never I've never found it to make a huge difference, like obviously we wouldn't want to put a brick on top of your wig, but I put other clothes and stuff like that. On top of it, it hasn't really done any harm. I like the plastic. I find that it just prevents it from getting stuck on anything. I you know use using a loose like people want to make things expensive and difficult. It doesn't have to be the fact that this is breathable like there's air in there. I find also to be a good idea, so that's sort of what I don't like about. Ziplock bags say you're coming back home, you're gon na really seal it up tight in a ziplock bag, or I can't breathe like if you're gon na be using the Ziploc at least make sure the zip part of it is open so that the unit can breathe. Inside so that's my tip for actual wigs. Let'S talk about extensions, so these are my clip. In extension, this is actually a whole bunch of them all stuck together and the best device I've ever found to hold them all together. Just is this again, this butterfly clip. I just clip it up to the top. I could lay them all on top of each other. All nice do this, and if you really wanted to, I would just clip it up here again right, just sort of tuck in the ends, and just like that. I will also put this in the shower cap, and it's just going to travel so nicely like this. Like like that and away, we go right and once again the way I usually you know actually the way I have this stored in real life. Sad but true, but just have it in a plastic bag like it. Does the trick really no need to be fancy. Now, let's talk about what happens when you get to an actual hotel room, why these different things will come in handy? I'M gon na show you what to do, because we're not always traveling with, like a wig form that we can hang our wigs on. Some of us do, but some of us don't sometimes you just can't fit it or whatever you forgot it. I'M gon na show you what to do in those cases now before I get into this next tip. If you would take a moment to like and subscribe that would mean so much to me on this channel. I talk about hair loss. I talk about health / hair, sometimes, but basically, if you have hair, if you don't have a lot of hair, the channel is for you, and also it helps me know that you like this content, so that I can make more of it. Okay, so my next tip so you've arrived at your destination. You don't have a wig head to put her on once you get there, but you want to take her out of the bag, etc and so forth, or you've worn her for the day. She'S hot she's sweaty, you know we need to air her out. This is what I do in a pinch. Is this ideal? No, it is not, but does it work? Yes, it does, and before you come from me saying, oh my gosh, that's gon na ruin your wig. I'Ve done this. I did this is an expensive wig. I'Ve done this and she didn't it didn't harm her at all. Nowhere tells were harmed okay and then the doing of these tips so flip her inside out. Okay, this is where this butterfly clip is gon na come in super handy, and you want to grab her. You want to clip her basically at her strongest point. If you can, you know, maybe you want to clip her back here, maybe just here it doesn't really matter so much because this clip is gon na defray the weight of it. You'Re gon na see what I mean. So you just clip here right and then you clip it onto your hotel hanger and I got a big thicker wood one like this and there you go super quick, easy. It'S gon na air out this and you can just stick her in the closet because, let's face it, sometimes you get to a hotel and there's like not enough room on the dresser or you just don't want to just leave her lying there or I don't know. There'S, like a ton of other reasons, so you're staying with somebody and you just don't want to leave your waive lying around. You know just like just frighten people like on the nightstand or something like that, and you know limited space. Of course, if you go to Europe, you go to some places in Asia. They'Re just the hotel rooms are not necessarily huge enough for you to be able to have that extra space. This way it gets it off any counters. You don't have to worry about disinfecting. The counters or anything like that, and you just pop her on like this and there she will stay until you need her next the next day, if you don't want to do this, I've got another hack for you, which involves a suitcase. So let's go over there and have a look. I just wanted to add that you can also do this with extensions. It hangs. Well, you just need a butterfly clip. It'S all. You need okay, here's my luggage. So, as you can see, I am not completely gross. I have it on a mat. I would never put dirty luggage up on my bed EW, okay. So what you want to do in this case? If this is what you're working with you know, you've got an extendable handle and we're gon na be using this head at all for a little hack. So I've extended it all the way. This is just a small piece of luggage, so I'm going to show you what I do. Okay, if you've been out traveling with this. Obviously you're gon na want to wipe this down with, like Lysol wipe, or you know, just spray it down with some rubbing alcohol. If you travel with that, I always travel with a small bottle of rubbing alcohol because you just never know you just never know what you might want to clean with this. You know your phone stuff, like that yeah always trouble travel with a small bottle of rubbing alcohol, so you've, given this whole suitcase a bit of a wipe and it's nice and clean. Now in your at your hotel and you need to put her down somewhere and you don't have a hangar or anything like that, or maybe you forgot a butterfly clip. Well, don't worry, I still got you now. This is a nice and long handle once you've disinfected. It or you can just lay a towel down on this because suitcases are dirty things, not the songs to cleaned it. But what you can do is just pop around here, and that is all super easy. If she is too long, then just pin her and you don't want to touch suitcase tada super easy right. So what I'm gon na do is actually I am going on them. I am gon na be traveling. This is I'm taping this in the time of coronavirus, and we are actually going on a family vacation. What'S gon na be different about this vacation, though, is it's gon na be kind of a social distancing vacation, so that should be interesting, so come along with me to see where I'm gon na stay we've rented an apartment that is like contained. So it's not like a hotel with like lots of other people or anything like that. We'Re just trying not to take any chances we don't have to take, but we still would like to take a break because we've been working hard. I'M gon na bring my pal with me, not because I'm really wearing her just because I want to see what is there and what we're gon na work with, and just to show you what you can do once you actually get. So I have no idea what to expect so come along with me for that, but yeah. So that's my second tip for traveling with a wig and putting it somewhere. You got put her somewhere. She needs to go, she needs to say somewhere, nice overnight right. So, okay, so now, let's talk about different products. You might be bringing with you if you're, not a wig or a helper hair user. Ok Rahel is back in her shower cap and we're just gon na pop her in Iraq. I'Ll see you later just really quickly about actual haircare products or medications you might be taking. As you guys know, I use Rogaine talk about that a lot here on my channel and liquid minoxidil, which is just the generic version of it. I don't travel with this because it leaks sometimes so anytime. I am traveling. I travel with the rogaine foam because it's pretty much once you've clicked that lid on it's pretty much spill proof snot, gon na spill and where's. This I've had accidents with this like once. I brought this with me, you know when is the book bag and it stayed really nice inside the ziplock bag, like it didn't spill out of this a buck bag, but everything inside here was coated with a bit of minoxidil, not to mention just wasting the product Which sucked, if you're someone who uses hair fibers as I sometimes do, for instance, topic hair fibers, just one of many. You can't really be can't these so you're kind of in for having to carry this yeah, there's not something that you can tap out until I cut small into a small jar or anything like that. It just doesn't work. It has to just sort of filter. Out of these little salt and pepper, shaker like lid thing, there's just no other way to deliver it properly to your hair has to be diffused like that so yeah. Those are my other tips for this kind of stuff, and so now, let's carry on. We are now at our townhouse that we rented and I'm just going to flip this around you've got up free, buys and show you that there's just not a lot of place to put rec held down. So I'm just gon na I'm gon na program, the closet. So let's have a look: we've rented, a really nice townhouse and here is the master bedroom in it. King sized bed, but as you can see not a whole huge amount of places like a dresser or anything like that to put raquel who's come along for the ride. So let's have a look in the closet and not even a huge amount of hangers, but guess what got the hanger that I need. So here we go we're just gon na flip her inside out. This is incredibly hard to do with one hand. So here's the clip and grab her and bring her over what a pretty no, but it will do the job and she will erupt nicely overnight. Alright, everybody. I hope that was helpful. Thank you so much for giving your time and watching this video and stay tuned I'll, see you soon. You

Rosa: Ok now I did not think of the hanger idea. I usually have a collapsible wig stand. Great content!

iPanAsian: Love your necklace!!! I don’t wear wigs lol but I was curious how you travel with them.
