How To Add Clips To A Topper Or Wig (And How To Remove Comb)

Hi! My website is highlinewigs.com and my instagram is @highlinewigs

Hi Sharon um: I had a lot of requests lately or for a while now asking how to change from comb to clip or clips to comb. So I wanted to just make a video showing how I do it or how it should be done in general. Also, this is great if your Clips happen to loose up loosen up anywhere else, for you know how to sew back in for it to hold for a longer time. So I'm changing up the comb out on a chopper I have here and I'm going to be placing it over here and over here two clips. Some people, like the comb, those who wear bangs or have a good amount of hair in the front and have fitting towards the back like the comb. But if it doesn't work for you, then you could change to two clips and it gets a better grip for some people um. So, let's get started first thing we'll do is take out the comb, so we have here two stitches on each side and it's just across the top. So what I take is little nail scissors and just slowly snip snip snip to loosens out you just knit across pull it out and just keep on snipping. This will not harm the topper it's made with a very durable base. Then you're gon na take out the other stitching, just be careful not to cut through the silk top. You pull it out and just take out. All these little strings are hanging loose, throw those away. Now you take some string and I like to usually do a double arm's length and then fold in half now should usually be good for about two clips that take your needle through the hole. If you a basic sewing, then this is probably like pretty use. It should be really easy, gon na even it out and make a knot towards the end and snip the excess hair. Sorry excess sip that off now you're gon na go to the topper and you're gon na take one clip. Let'S say I want to put one over here: you want all the clips or the teeth are facing inwards, so all around is facing inward, so here we're gon na be putting one over here and one over here, you're gon na want to put it as close As possible to the brown, but still on the white, you could do it over here too. If you want, but then, if you put it like upwards, you might see like some metal. So it's not really good. You could better to put it like right there. So you're gon na go poke through one hole, pull it through put it again, do the same hole, pull it through and then you're gon na put it into the loop so kind of double knotting. It now you're gon na do that about two or three times. Two or three more times to make sure it's really tight into the loop and then pull it one more time, pull it into the loop now you're gon na go to the bottom one to the silk pull it. This isn't really a slip by the way. This is the silk, but this is the fabric we put underneath it. Yes, you didn't gon na pull it through once put it through again go through the loop and pull through. Do it twice more, putting it through that loop by the way is pretty important. Otherwise, it could just when it'll all if one unravel one corner, unravels and probably will all unravel this is good, because it's the only one side unravels, the only one, coral unravel you don't go like worried about it all unraveling you don't the rush to put a New clip in now I like taking a diagonally or I can go straight across here, whichever one you want and do the same thing and through once through again through the hoop loop once more and then over here, one more time. Okay, now you can take nail scissors, you should snip it off good, like two inches away, so you have enough to not you're gon na make double knot. It we're gon na snip off the ends. It looks harder than it is, but it's really easy once you get the hang of it, that's it. We do the same thing to the side and now

Natalie: Thanks so much for this video Sharon! Definitely gave me some helpful tips to use in clip sewing! It's great with the silk top that you don't have to go thru the whole base like with a mono top.

Pip Squeek: Have you ever used fishing line? I sew mine in with fishing line and it never loosens up or comes out.

s a: Hi Sharon, clips are damaging and can cause hair loss. Is there a way you can use an elasticated hairband underneath the topper instead of the clips or even attaching the clips to the hairband and then wearing it this way. A topper stylist once told me that a headband can be used instead of clips but I'm not sure how she did it.. do you know a hack or could you try this?

Sanela: Thank you so much i watched all your videos and learn a lot about toppers .i follow few people who is selling toppers but i definitely want one of your topper .i didn’t know anything about toppers till i start following you ..

Ana: Karen I have one of your toppers and want to change the comb to the clips. Would it be ok to put one clip right in the middle and one more on each side? bc my topper with the comb keeps sliding... I noticed you added two clips and my question is if it's ok to put one right in the middle and one more on each side total three where the comb used to be is that ok?

Kathy Kilduff: Hi. Your videos are great and super informative. Am I doing something wrong? They cut off before you are finished with your tutorial. You are still talking and obviously not done, but every one I've seen seems to end to early. I don't see anyone else noting this, but I can't imagine what I could be doing to cause this. If love to see these in their entirety.

Raquel Antunes: Where can I find extra clips?

Tammy Brock: Sharon what is the best way to reach you? I don’t know what your email is. Please let me know. Thank you.

Tammy Brock: I wish I would have bought from you instead of Uniwigs.

MoniLux: what hair are you wearing in this vid???
