Steps:

1. Cut the weft into 3" (five pieces), 6" (one piece), and 9 ½" (one piece).

2. Stitch once into the weft to secure the thread.

3. Center the clip to be sewn, making sure the teeth are pointed in the downward direction, and the clip is flipped so the teeth are on the top side (backer bar against the hair).

4. Sew the clip and weft through the first hole of the clip for three passes.

5. Sew through the second hole and the weft for three passes.

6. Push the needle to a hidden area underneath the clip.

7. Stitch into a small portion of the weft a couple times and then create a knot.

8. Cut the thread.

9. Repeat for each clip.

Making your own clip in extension set is pretty simple. If you have the right supplies. We're going to need a bundle of wefted hair. We're going to need 17 of the weaving clips needle and thread tape measure and some scissors.. The first thing we're going to do is we're going to cut our weft into the appropriate pieces.. Here I have an example of an already finished clip set that has the appropriate measured pieces for you.. This is a standard, seven piece clip in set.. We have five pieces that are three inches wide one piece that is six inches wide and the final piece, which is nine and a half inches wide.. So again, you will need to cut your weft into five pieces that are three inches wide one piece that is six inches wide and one piece that is: nine and a half inches wide.. So now I'm just going to measure my weft. There's three inches. And I'm just going to cut through the weft. Okay.. If you have particularly thin weft, you can always double up the weft and either stitch them together or use a little bit of felt adhesive at the top.. Let that dry before you move on to sewing.. Ours are pretty thick, so we're just going to use them. As-Is. So just make sure that your teeth are facing up when you sew your clip on.. So it's going to live right about there.. So to start our thread, we're just going to go through the weft. And go back through. Cinch it down.. Then we're going to put our clip on. And go back through the weft. Okay. Now, to get to the other side, I'm going to go back into the weft., Pull it out., And so that thread will be hidden underneath my clip, I'm just going to go over to the other side about where it's going to go in.. So you can see that the thread is going to be hidden under the clip.. I'M going to go through the hole.. Get those little hairs out of there. Going to do that about three times.. Then I'm going to go back underneath my clip.. You can flip that up and out of the way. And I'm going to put my knot underneath this clip.. So I'm just going to pick up a little bit of that. And I'm going to go around my thread. A couple times. And cinch it down., And I'm going to do that twice. Then I'm just going to clip that thread out of the way.. That completes your first clip. And you're, going to just repeat that on the other, side. Continue sewing until you've completed all seven pieces. Weaving clips come in a variety of colors, so make sure that you're choosing a color, that's closest to your extension. Color. We've chosen to do it in a contrasting color so that you can see what we've done., If you have done a doubled, weft make sure that you are going through both pieces of the weft when you sew.. That will give you extra security.. Also, if you have any difficulty with your wefts shedding at the ends, go ahead and add a little bit of nail adhesive or super glue just to the tiny bits on the ends, and that will stop all of your fraying

xsullengirlx: I bought weaving hair from you guys (in store) recently and am just using this video to sew on my clips! I picked the weaving hair because I fell in love with one of the colors that matched my hair so well I wouldn't have to tone it - but I knew with your tutorials I'd have no problem creating my own clip-in set. I love how easy your tutorials are and how helpful you, and all your employees are :) Thanks!!

Bio Brimm: Best tutorial I've seen. Thanks!

Doctored Locks: You can sew around it. Going through the wefts shouldn't promote shedding as you are talking about 4 - 6 tiny spots. If you were perforating the whole thing - then yeah, you'd have a serious problem. :) If you are worried about shedding, or your weft is too tight/small to get through, you can go around. The main reason I prefer to sew through the weft is because the clips tend to flip upwards if they aren't sewn to the backside. It's a minor issue though.

🐚: Clip ins been my go to style, only need 3 rows for natural look, remove and feel myself again:))

Vicky E.: Can you please tell me how many clip in pieces I would be able to make if the hair weft is 12" 14" 16" 18" 20" 24" and 26" I want to start making custom clip ins but I'm not sure how many pieces I can make for each weft. Thanks in advance.

Lucius Snape: Have you already done a glue in tutorial? Your channel has soooo many vids I can't look through them all without getting dizzy LOL

Doctored Locks: We have a tutorial scheduled for how to do a dread weave with clip-ins. :) (you'll have to search our web page, youtube does not allow direct links in comments)

DollsbyDaniel: why do you sew through the weft? You can sew around,it is just as secure. Going through the weft promotes all kinds of shedding for you and/or the person you are making the set for.

Doctored Locks: lol, We did do a few, didn't we? :) We have done a fusion tutorial, several bonding tutorials and tape in tutorials! Just let me know what kind of glue and I can get you pointed in the right direction.

Lucius Snape: Idk about a glue-in one. I searched your channel and didn't find one but the best, yet cheap, would be nice; also need good advice for removing glue. Had to use Dawn dish washing detergent! My dad said if it's good enough for the duckies it's good enough for you -_-" LOL thankies...sorry I comment/ask so much. I have short hair and wanna have longer hair like now! XD

Stephanie Jenkins: What kind of weft is used? I see hand tied and machine tied. I just want to make sure I buy hair with a weft that can be cut. Thank you so much

Aria: How can i create a one piece thick clip in weft extension?

Halloween Pumpkin: Hey what if I just wanted to add some extra hair to hair extensions I already bought?

tokhote: Is it possible to cut clip in extensions into smaller width clip ins? My clips are attached to lace, over the weft. Idk if that makes sense :/
