Hey y'all welcome back to my channel so today we'll be working with berlin's hair, we're going to be doing some tapings y'all, so, okay, they sent me over two bundles of 16 inch, kinky corsair. So two bundles is precisely 40 tape ins in each cluster, so feeling this hair is really really thick. That'S all we will need is two. We won't need, no more than that, it's so soft and it really kind of feels like our hair. So i love that so we're gon na go ahead and get started, so we're going to start by shampooing her hair to remove any oils that she may have in her hair, because when you're doing this hairstyle you don't want any oils in your clients hair. You don't want it to slip, you don't want it to slide. You want them to be able to actually enjoy this hairstyle and have some sense of longevity with it. So now that we're done with the shampooing and conditioning i'm going to go ahead and take her right on back to my chair and i'm going to comb out her hair and blow it out as well as flat iron it. As you can see, she is completely natural. She has no chemicals on her hair whatsoever, so all my natural girls - yes, you can get this hairstyle, so i am going to apply just a little bit of oil by design essentials. It'S their silk essentials oil! I'M only going to do about a dime size or maybe like a nickel to her hair, but not too much because again we don't want any of her tracks to slip out, but you know us black girls. We need our moisture. So i'm just going to add her just a little bit and the silk essentials. Oil is not like a heavy oil. It'S really really light, which is why i love it. I also use it for my silk presses, so so so. Okay, now that i have her pressed out, i'm going to go ahead and clip her ends because she hasn't had a trim since she's been growing her hair out. So i'm going to go ahead and get that out the way and then we're going to begin taping in these extensions, so so foreign all right. So what i'm about to do now is part out the perimeter of her hair, and that would be the leave out portion of this hairstyle so when she does pull it up into a ponytail. That part will cover the tape in extensions and i'm going to go. All the way in a horseshoe from temple to temple, so so this is how you check to make sure that the tracks won't show you take your rat tail comb and you'll pull the hair up. If you can see the comb, then that means you need to. Let leave out a little bit more hair, so um that when she does put it up in a ponytail, none of it will show so that's a way to kind of check to make sure before you just get to taping in these extensions. Okay. Now i want to take my first piece: we're going to take a thin layer of hair and then we're going to part it off and measure it to the width of the tape. In extension, then we're going to peel off the white pieces of paper, that's stuck on so that they don't stick together, we'll peel that off and then we're going to go underneath the hair first and we're going to press in her hair to the adhesive on the Tape then we're going to take an additional tape in and we're going to place it on the top of it. Almost sandwich-like was actually sandwich-like and we're going to press it together and that's how you install the tape in so when you are installing the tape ends. You don't want to go all the way to the root of the hair. You want to kind of stay off a little bit when you're, applying the tape ends that way it can move up and down with no problems, and there won't be any tension on your client's, hair foreign. Okay. Now for this next row, it's not going to be a row, i'm going to part off and use this next piece to cover the first row of extensions and then we're going to proceed to the next row of um. I want to part off the next section of her hair and then we're going to do tape. Ins on that section and the partings you guys are horseshoe or half moon partings, because you do want to stay with the curvature of your client's head. That'S the way you want to place the tapings extensions going just straight across when they pull them up. The edges of the tape ends will show, so you want to go with the curvature of your client's head. So when you do pull it up, it'll lay nice and seamless, and you can't see anything okay. So a little knowledge about tape ends on our hair. Normally like this hairstyle wouldn't be for us, but it can be for us if we do it properly and maintain it properly, it will work out just fine and it will give you everything you need and more so with that being said, the longest that normally i Tell my clients, i don't care what kind of extensions it is. I tell them eight weeks i'll. Let them extend to another 10 weeks out. I mean two weeks after the eight weeks if they want to go a little longer, but i don't recommend keeping any kind of hair extensions in past that time, because i do believe in shampoo and conditioning and maintaining your hair. So most people say that you can go up to 12 weeks with this. That'S totally up to you, but i just tell my clients eight to maybe ten weeks for any kind of extensions before they need to be redone all over again. So with that being said, with, there's no way to really like touch these up unless your um hairstylist knows how to put the adhesive back on the clip-ins to reuse the same hair, otherwise, you will have to purchase new hair. So that's the only like downside about it. Okay, i can resist so i just pulled up a little bit, so you guys could see how flat it is and how her hair covered it up in the back. So it's very seamless. Nobody will even know that she has these in, because it'll be so flat that they'll really be like. Is that her hair, or is that weave a little bit about this hair and how i'm liking it so far? Um, i love how it feels to the touch. It really feels like our hair. It is very kinky coarse, so it i don't know how they got it like that, but they did that so it it does feel like our hair. So - and i look i like that - they're starting to create hair that caters to us more um, i will have details in the description box if you want to purchase this hair for those of you that don't like the real silky like hair, and you want something More textured or you want to try these tape in your um, the stylus near you um. It does come in this natural brown color, so i don't know how it dies. I haven't. I didn't. I thought about bleaching it, but i didn't um, because that mean i would have to find a model with colored hair and that would have just been too much. This is definitely this. This company has an a plus for me right now. The only thing that i didn't like i will say you guys is when i try to flat iron it it's kind of hard getting it all the way. 100 straight. You have to go through it like over a couple passes over the hair to get it to get like as straight as you need it, or maybe use um a hot comb, or maybe i could have used my blow dryer to like blow it out a little Bit more, i think i'll do that next time i know i have a couple natural hair clients who would love to just have this texture, so i think i'll do that the next time, just you see what happens if i use my blow dryer to kind of Blow out some of the curl pattern in the hair, you can fold the the tape ends in half that way. It'Ll make it a little shorter, so you'll be able to place it in those areas that are a little um harder to get, because you don't want to go too close to a hairline, because when she pulls this up again, you don't want to see the track. So sometimes you won't need a full tape. In extension, sometimes you may just need a half to plug in a little small area. So okay yeah now be quiet yeah. I can watch the rest this video, so so you foreign, so oh, do. Do you hmm foreign, so foreign, so so this is the final. Look. You guys make sure you like comment and subscribe, and i will see you guys on the next video

Rose Water: I was using tape in on my natural back in 2009 - 2010. I would order them from a company called Sultry Hair. They had four different textures that “matched” black hair. It wasn’t like today’s match, but it was a start.

eighth Lab: thank you soo much for this thorough tutorial !!

Dominique Yarborough: I also love the way you explain the way you do each and every hair style

Treasure Ashley: Watching you trim her hair was everything

ASHASTORM TV: Whewwwww flawless…. Now I’m ready to try it on a client

はなKairi: Beautiful! How do the tape ins react to sweating?

SSD: Is it easy removal? If so, what do you use to remove it?

natalie hutchins: Job well done! Tape in on VERY thick natural hair is difficult to maintain/blend for a silky silk press. I have a finner curly pattern. I’ve even wearing tapes 4-5 years. My daughter Hebe has SUPER thick hair. We didn’t like them for her. I use about 20-22 sandwiches for fullness. She needed over 100 tapes and it was extremely difficult to wash and blend every two weeks. She’s rocking a curly sew in. Minimal leave out. Tape in thought for newbies:I keep two sets of tape in so I can remove and install the same day. My stylist will wash and re tape my hair so it’s ready for the next visit. It’s an absolute pain to wash and re tape hair on the same day. A pain. But this is by far the most gentle method. I go to salon to silk press every two weeks and a simple curl/press on the other weeks. Keeping my hair straight in between the rows prevents damage and excess shedding. Also if you have THICK hair make sure your artist uses very fine sections of hair. If you can’t see through the sections the hair is too thick and the tapes won’t adhere to each other. It’s a BIG mistake rookie stylist make. You MUST have fine thin sections of hair for the sandwiches to glue together.

elaina: Amazing video! I would love to do this for my prom! I was thinking about doing this style but half up half down. Do i do it like what you did so no tracks are showing? And also i play softball so i wear a helemt and work out can i still have this hairstyle?

Honey: Love this! What do you recommend to grease/moisturize your scalp with that won’t remove them. I have a itch scalp.

viciousreasoning504: My hair would revert lol its beautiful tho

jeff bob: She couldn’t stop smiling at the end , amazinggg

Sandra Washington: Loved the video! Had never heard of tape in extensions good job though!

Lynn Roberts: I love this flat iron. Where can I purchase it? Love your video. I am natural and sweat very easy but I will be trying this style.

Kiona Jazmin: When my hair reverts to its natural state, how am I supposed to straighten the but above the tape? I sweat a lot which reverts my hair but I really want to do tape ins (straight tape ins)

Catresha Phelps: Great job
