How To Make Clip-Ins Natural Curly Hair (Very Detailed)

Step by step how to make clip ins for your hair protective style

Hey guys welcome back to my channel if you're new make sure you guys like and subscribe this video. You guys know that I'm like all about natural hair and taking care of your hair and all that good stuff, but sometimes we need a little break right. I thought why not just make some clipping, especially we don't want to road. I don't like braid my hair every night. Yes clipping the grouping rule I recently dyed my hair. I had really bad bleached eggs. It looked crazy and I'm gon na post a video next week on how I did that. What kind of dye I use, but I love it, and it allows my clippings to blend even better with my hair. If you want to learn how to make clippings keep watching this video, since I'm not breaking down, will really teach you how to make them. So the hair that I used to make these clippings was the shake and go water. We 14 inches in the color number. Two you're gon na need some large wig clips. I started off with 24 and it was enough for what I was doing: some scissors, some weaving thread and a needle which you can get from the hair store. So when you first look at this hair, it's really shiny and that's because it's a synthetic and human hair blend and I'll show you how to like brush that out and blend it with your natural hair. But you just want to go ahead and open the pack, and since I'm doubling the wefts, I'm gon na unravel it and have two tracks lined up next to each other. I'M gon na show you how I do that now you really can use whatever. I just got this like $ 15, a bundle here, because it was my first time making clippings and I wanted to practice. It'S pretty simple. You just start at the ends and line them up and before you cut, you want to measure it along your head. I went ahead and braided my hair down. It'S not as far as it could be, but it did a decent job proof you put it in the clip ends on so what you want to do is put the tracks together and what you're measuring is the distance across the lowest point where you want the Clippings to go, if you have leave out, you want to make sure you leave room so that the clip is not getting tangled with your leave out. You just want the clips to be on your braid, and you want to do this going all the way up. Your head, I did it track-by-track, because I wanted to ensure that I had enough and I didn't have any gaps in my head, so feel free to do the same. So now that we have our finger measurement, I'm gon na cut through the weft and after I do that I'm gon na remove any excess hair by just pulling on it and just making sure that there is any hair that will fall out once up with the Clippings in now we're gon na stitch these two tracks together, so you want to make sure they're lined up and then go ahead and thread your needle. So again you want to make sure that the tracks are lined up. The first stitch is gon na go through the weft. Just be careful that you don't poke yourself in the finger. I had these long nails, so I had to do it kind of it looks kind of crazy, like I'm about to stab myself, but I wasn't so you want to go through the West, pull the needle all the way through then you're gon na go back through The West I'm gon na fast-forward here a little bit just to show you how you're threading it by this point you're going under the weft now and you wrap the thread around and pull the needle through. One thing to keep in mind: is you don't want to make your needle and thread too long? That can cause a lot of tangling and it can be really annoying when you're trying to sew tracks together, and you also don't want it to be too short, because when you get to the end, you won't be able to tie it off correctly. So now that we're at the end of the tracks, we're gon na go through the weft again just to ensure that the tracks are really together on both ends and they don't unravel, and this is how it should look now for the clips the length of the Track is what determines how many Clips you want to use for shorter tracks. You only need two one for either end and for longer ones. You want to use three one on either end and one in the middle, so you want to make sure that the comb is facing upward when you sew it on. So what I did was just went ahead and opened the ones that I was gon na use track by track. You thread your needle and you want to line up the clip with the weft and when you're going through the first hole on the clip, you want to go through the weft to really make sure it's attached to the tracks for the rest of the clip. We'Re gon na go under the weft and we're using that same stitching technique, so putting it through the hole wrapping the stitch around and pulling it. You can do every other hole or every hole. It really just depends on how attached you want the clip to be when I started doing it. I did every hole but, as I continued doing the rest of the tracks, I just was doing every other because it pretty much is the same amount of secureness and for the last hole we're going to go through the weft again to tie off your thread, whether You'Re sewing tracks together or you're putting on clips. You just want to tie it like a regular knob, but when you get to the bottom, you want to put your finger there to ensure that it gets as close to the weft as possible so that you don't have a bunch of string hanging from your clippings. So this is what it looks like that's the clip that's gon na be in the lowest part of my head for the longer tracks. You'Re gon na add a clip to the middle of the track. So you just want to place it. There make sure it's in the middle and go ahead and stitch it down. So to make this hair blend better with your natural curl patter, and not to look as shiny. You can just go ahead and tease it out. I'M using a den brush Denman brush. You can use any kind of brush that you have welcome. Whatever is gon na get the hair to kind of raise up just because our natural hair has a little bit of phrase. So you just want to go ahead and add that and that will take away some of the shine. So I already did this to all of the tracks and I'm gon na go ahead and start clipping them in, and I'm gon na show you how I do that. So I opened up the clips. I start with the first one which is at the bottom. Most part of my hair and because I have leave out I'm just making sure that I'm clipping it on all of the braids, but not on the braid that has my leave out for the placement of these tracks. Distance-Wise, I usually do one or two fingers. Sometimes I just eyeball it, but if you are a person who needs specific measurements, you probably want to just do like one or two fingers depending on if you doubled your wefts like I did or if you have just the single tracks and because I'm not looking. I couldn't really tell what I was doing, but I you know I made sure that it looks good by the end, I'm just showing you how I clipped it on to start, but you can always go back and adjust them if you feel like there's too many Gaps or that you could see your braids underneath you can always fix that now that I'm done in the back, I'm gon na go ahead and move to the top of my hair. If you can see the breed, that's trying to poke through don't worry by the end. You'Re not gon na, be able to see it. There'S gon na be so much hair covering it that it's not gon na show the next time I use these clippings. I did do a different braid pattern, just so that it would lay a little bit flatter, but I did these braids just really quick, so that I could show you guys how to make the clip-ins and how to apply them to your head. Now, before you take out your leave out, you just want to go through it again and kind of tease it out just so that it's not such perfect curls, unless your leave out is gon na. Look like that same exact, curl pattern, because you definitely want it to blend so now, I'm finally taking out the leave out and I'm gon na show you guys what it looks like altogether. That'S it you guys! Thank you so much for watching. If you have any questions, leave them in the comment section below I'll try to answer as many as I can.
