[ techno intro, music, ] Hi guys So today I wanted to do another video all about my favourite subject, which is, of course hair extensions., And today I thought I'd do a video all about how to make your extensions blend in really nicely with your own hair And how to make them look really lovely and natural., So just stay tuned. If you fancy picking up some tips. So in this video, I'm going to be talking about three things: I'm going to be talking about hair extension shades, I'm going to be talking about length and blending, and I'm also going to be talking about fitting, because I think These are the three most important things when it comes to hair, extensions.. Ok, so, fortunately, here at Dirty Looks we've come up with several different ways for you to select your perfect hair extension shade.. So, first of all, we've got our website shadematcher.com, which you can link through to on the hair extension shop page. So this is just a really really cool way of matching your own hair extension shade, because it's got loads of different pictures of celebrities, bloggers and other lovely ladies' hair, all in the different varieties of hair extension shades. So you can find one that's perfect for you.. I just absolutely love this way of matching the hair shade, because normally on hair extension sites, you get just a picture of a swatch of hair which isn't really the same as seeing it in context. You know with somebody wearing the hair extensions., So I just think this is a really cool way of deciding which hair extension shade is right for you.. Ok, so if you're still really really stuck and you're, not sure which hair extension shade to choose, don't worry because you can always e-mail our team.. We'Ve got a team of actual hairstylists here at our e-mail address, info @ dirtylooks.com, and all you need to do is just e-mail them with a recent picture of yourself and a picture of your hair in natural lighting.. A picture of yourself outside is probably the easiest way to do. It., Definitely don't take a picture of your hair under indoor lighting or with an Instagram filter on it, or even some people send pictures in with black-and-white filters on which really don't work. So just to recap: this is an example of a good picture, and this is an example of a bad picture.. Ok, so, finally, we've also got another two options: if you're still stuck - and you still don't know which extension shade to choose - we've got our blonde hair extension video all about our blonde shades and our brown hair extensions video as well. If you're brunette. Received your hair extensions and they're the wrong shade, Don't panic guys? Because there are still four options for you Option one you can always send your hair extensions back for an exchange. So all of the details are on the website, but I just thought I'd show you this all of our full head. Hair extension sets come with a look-at-me weft, which is a really easy way to see if your hair color matches, because all you need to do is just take it out, put it up next to your own hair and see if it matches, if not just send It back. Option two: you can always try our Bobby Glam Highlight and Blusher Wefts, which are a really good idea for girls with hair that is kind of in-between shades or if you've got a tricky-to-match highlighted hair shade.. All you need to do is just pop them. On and they create a kind of really nice blush in your hair to just add a little bit of extra color to match your hair extensions perfectly.. So, for example, if your hair extension shade is just a little bit out, add the Highlight and Blusher Wefts and basically they just lift the color. So it's like creating a kind of custom hair extension shade for yourself, so this works for blondes and brunettes as well.. Ok, so the cool thing about our Bobby Glam Highlight and Blusher Wefts is that they're really really thin, so they're really discreet when you've got them clipped, in. And they've also got these tiny weenie little clips on as well.. All you need to do is just piggyback them in on top of your existing hair extensions and, alternatively, you can also just clip them in on the underside of your extensions as well. If you really want to create a really nice kind of balayage, slash ombre look., So these Bobby Glam Highlight and Blusher Wefts are available in either clip-in or glue-on pieces. I really like the clip-in versions, because they're just so easy to manoeuvre about in your hair and also I like to change my hairstyle quite frequently so sometimes I like ombre. Sometimes I like pastel and sometimes I just like to add a little bit of highlights. So there's loads of options. Option: three: you can always dye the hair extensions yourself. You can dye the hair extensions up to two shades darker, but please please don't bleach them, because our hair extensions have already been through a chemical bleaching. Process., We've also got a dyeing guide online, so it's better to be safe than sorry, so just follow that and also make sure to do a strand test. First. Option four. So we find here at Dirty Looks that lots of people fall in love with the color of their hair extensions and actually prefer it to their own hair shade. So if you find yourself in this situation, all you need to do is just head over to your salon. Take your hair extensions with you and let your hairdresser do their thing and dye your hair to match the hair extensions.. Ok! So next up I'm going to be talking about length and blending., So this is really really important if you just throw your hair extensions in they're, not gon na. Look very good, so you've got to really work at getting them to blend in really nicely with your own hair.. So my first tip on length and blending would be to always make sure that your hair extensions are styled in the same way as your own hair., Because this just makes them look way more natural.. If you've got hair extensions in that are straight and your hair is curly, it's not gon na look good.. So what you need to do is just put your hair extensions in you can style your hair extensions along with your own hair. I just find it makes for a really really natural nice look. When you're styling, your hair. It can sort of tug on the extensions a little bit so just make sure you're, nice and gentle.. So when I want to make my hair extensions, look really really nice and natural and blend in with my own hair, I always make sure to go to my salon to get my hairdresser to cut my extensions while they're in my hair., And I find that this Creates a really really seamless natural kind of look. So especially with our hair extensions, there's just so much hair on the weft, they're, really lovely and thick. So there's just lots and lots of hair to play with, and I just love going to the hairdressers' and getting it all blended in with lots of nice layers.. So if you've got short hair, my tip would be to just pin back any shorter pieces of hair at the front, just to make sure that you disguise those layers and blend the hair extensions in really nicely.. So we've also got a blog post right here. That'S all about how to blend short hair with hair extensions.. So finally, it might sound obvious again, but it's really really important to fit your hair extensions well to make them blend in nicely with your hair.. So don't have too many hair extensions at the back. Don'T have too many at the sides and also always remember, to follow our clip-in hair extensions guide with the numbered wefts to make sure you get them all in the right. Place. And we've also got a video all about how to fit your hair extensions perfectly as well just here.. So when you look at my hair extensions, you can see that I don't have any of those little tell-tale short bits just here, and this is my secret.. So you've got two options: option A is to just clip in weft number one upside down underneath your own hair, as this creates just a really nice long. Blended look So, instead of clipping it in sort of this way, you just turn it'round and clip it in the other way up. Instead., OK, so option B is to take those tell-tale short pieces of hair at the back of your head and just twizzle them up, wrap them around your finger and just pin them in place in a little knot with bobby pins. In the back of your neck and then pop the hair extension weft in over the top., So this is my absolute favorite way to disguise those little hairs that gather around your neck, just because it just blends everything in perfectly, and it's really really easy to do. Once you get the hang of it as well., So I hope you guys have enjoyed this video and, as always, if you have any questions or comments, please just post them below. I always like to look through the comments and respond to them when I can so that would be awesome and also, if you have any other questions about HK, Hair or Bobby Glam, hair extensions, just post those down there as well. And don't forget, to'like' ,'share' and Most importantly, subscribe as well, Thanks for watching Bye,

Nicole Davey: My favourite tip to make extensions look natural personally for myself, is to dye the lightest blonde with my hairdye to ensure that it's a perfect colour match and also to curl/wave them into my natural hair to give a seamless look! Keeping extensions in top condition by using heat protection spray and regularly washing them helps a treat too as it keeps them as healthy as my natural hair ☺️

halohair: My favourite tip for making hair extensions look natural is definitely styling the extensions while they're in your hair, it really makes everything blend together and sit nicely if you style both your hair and the extensions during application. My other fav tip from this video is to twirl shorter hair from the base of the neck and clip it up before applying the first extension, such a great trick when growing hair out or to hide stray shorter pieces! :)

Sarah Burke: 1)  I layer my extensions myself, especially at the front sides. I measure the lengths of my hair and then using a trouser          hanger I hang a weft and begin to work on gentle layering :)      If your not confident with layering then ask your hairdresser, don't risk the extensions!!  2) Then when placing them in my hair I always take the underneath and clip it into a little bun to hide the tell tale sign of the     shorter hair :) 3) If wearing my hair curly with extensions I always curl my hair with the extensions in. While it may seem easier to curl         them first, then add to hair.. it actually works and looks more natural to have your own hair curled in the same direction       as the extensions. 4)  If wearing hair straight, straighten hair as normal then add some hairspray to an old toothbrush and brush where the           ends of your own hair meet the extensions to keep the it seamless all day :)

Rebecca Simpson: I've had many sets of extensions. From braids, microbeads, clip ins. I oddly enough found that the colour shade isn't extremely important, it is to a degree. For blondes it's quite difficult to get an exact match, although always making sure my hair was controlled with no frizz made my hair blend seamlessly together! Styling the hair altogether is extremely vital, not styling your own hair then the extensions! I really hope I win a set of extensions, they look amazing quality and this channel is creative as well as helpful. xxx

Chloe Anne Hasell: I always make sure I have my extensions cut to blend well with my natural hair, along with smooth curls to style :)

kelsey reay: I've been using extensions for around 5 years now. Everyone compliments me on my long, and very few guess they're extensions. I believe that the key to getting natural looking extensions is to firstly get a good colour match. make sure that the clips are placed close to the top of the section as possible and leave a good amount of hair on top to cover the tracks. I also find curling helps with the blending process.

GinaLucie44: I find that curling/waving hair makes it blend a lot better! I also pin up any short bits of my natural hair with bobby pins :) xxx

Brittany Andring: To make mine look natural, I definitely curl them so that they all blend and I tease them a little bit so they don't look too perfect! I hope I win the contest! I've been wanting to try this brand forever! :D

Beth-Juanita Young: I've found the best way of making my extensions look natural is to curl them or wave them and toss them around with your natural hair. Another good tip for girls with short to medium length hair is to get your extensions layered slightly to fit with the layer of your own hair, I've done this and I love it!

Jenny S: Shade matching, layering, and styling are definitely the most important keys when choosing hair extensions, but I think the best kept secrets for creating them to blend in seamlessly with your own hair is properly applying them, and to work within the same thickness/texture and length that will complement your current hair. Furthermore, caring for and maintaining your own hair health's creates a good and more manageable base for the extensions adhere to.

Layla Priest: The best way I think to make your hair extensions look natural is to ensure that (firstly - you're hair extensions blend naturally in to your hair! by either picking colours that match your hair , or that you know will go gorgeous with the colour you have ) - I think that the dirty looks website helps you know what colour is the perfect match! Then knowing what length to get - if your hair is really short you're lucky, because it will look like layers and blend perfectly! However if you have medium length hair , I recommend getting hair extensions getting either a deluxe set of extensions that will not only thicken your hair , make it impossible to show when your real hair stops and your fake hair starts! If this is out of your price range then get extensions the same length as your hair (or as close as). I'd also recommend making sure when putting your extensions in you cover your whole head (especially if the colour is used to blend e.g. look like highlights)! Also i think backcombing your real hair (slightly, we don't want a bush on your head!) which falls on top of your extensions is a great way of hiding the clips and making your extensions look like they fall naturally from your gorgeous head! I think care for extensions is also massively important it is vital to know that THEY NEED TLC just as much as your real hair shampoo and condition! Make sure these stay tat free and as gorgeous as your real hair! Head protection is also vital if you straighten and style a lot! (bed head products really do work amazingly!)

Tarrre: I've dyed my hair and extensions bright purple and sometimes it's hard to blend them, because it's semi-dye so it gets lighter after each wash. I like to curl everything with a thin wand and blend it all together so it looks like a light to dark purple ombre, until I dye my hair again haha!

Kalah Branch: I definitely make sure to blend in my extensions the best way possible. First by selecting the correct shade but also i find extensions with textures that match my natural hair more. I also try and purchase the best products for shampooing and conditioning the extensions so that way i can restore that feeling as if they were brand new.

Charlie Francis: My favourite way to make your hair extensions look natural is a french plait or fish tail to the side put you hair extensions in, start plaiting your natural hair and including the extensions as you go along. Plaits are really on trend at the moment too!

Giovanna Toaldo: The best way to make your hair extensions look natural is to find the perfect shade, the number of the grams, and I always hide the short layers at the bottom of my head with bobby pins, so I won't show any shorts layers at all :)

T King: Awesome video!! a way to make it look natural is to get the closet shade to your natural hair and it will be easier to blend them in.

Becky Watson: My favourite tip for making hair extensions look more natural has to be curling them in with your own hair x

sophie clifford: I find there are many ways to make your hair exstentions blend. The first would be to get the closet colour match you can. Getting them cut in at a salon would be a great help! But if all else fails i find curling them works but id be careful not to curl them all the time as it will slowly damage your exstentions (make sure you use heat spray!) Maybe clipping them in your hair in a certain way may help to? Use the small pieces in your pack and clip them in the front at an angle. Also wearing your hair in different styles might work, with my own for example, i sometimes clip half my hair up and leave most the hair exstentions down. Hope this helps for some people and i hope i win dirty looks, already had one set, would be amazing to win some!:D xox

Jessica Jayne: Ensure you have texture products in your hair to help give it a boost, part your hair into sections and back comb the area before applying extensions, this helps give the hair volume as otherwise it will look too flat. Ensuring the extensions are in good condition and brushed through with your own hair. Never get straight cut extensions if you have layered hair this will never work

Reah Scrivener: The best way I blend my HK extensions is to brush with all my hair then curl them with them in or for a straight look I will pin all my hair to the sides for a half up half down look :)

Creepy Layla: Washing the extensions to remove the conditioning products helps blend the texture of extensions with your own hair, as no one really has hair that damn silky! It also stops them being so 'pin straight', which then diffuses the 'join' between your own hair & your extensions. Xx

Mattea Brice: I believe curling your hair and then tossing it with the rest if your natural hair is a great way to help your extensions blend! Especially when the extensions are very natural looking and resemble your natural hair color and texture!

Lamara McBride: If you want the perfect match pick your ideal hair extensions colour and take them to the salon and ask for a colour match - perfect results, also ask for your extensions layering if your hair is layered too!

Mercedes LaCroix: whenever i curl my hair with the extensions, i always curl it with the extensions it it makes it look more realistic to me(:

Annaloa Hilmarsdottir: I used to comb the top part of my hair forward, attach the hair extension at the back and lightly back comb the top hair over the hairpiece and comb the ends of my real hair into it.  A bit of hairspray and some cleverly concealed hairpins and you're all set to go.

Strawberry Kissys: That video was soo helpful, learnt a lot I didn't know.. Those tips are deffo going to be useful in the future! :) I went to the hairdressers about 4 years ago asking if they could cut my hair so that when I put extensions in it would look more natural.. And I seriously regret it. She cut my hair into horrible layers and the ones at the top were so short it just looked awful! :( and because I dye my hair blonde it's not in the best condition meaning even now the layers haven't grew out much, but I have found a way to help a little. To make my extensions look natural and hide those tacky layers i clip them in as close I can to my roots without them being seen. This means that my extensions are basically covering all my hair meaning all the layers! Although there are sometimes a few bits of hair that hang down that you can see from underneath which takes away from the natural look, so I find plaiting them and then clipping them round at the back of your neck is the best thing to do.. Out of sight! :) Hope you guys find this useful if you ever get a bad hair cut lol! Xx

Joanna Gracie: I got my hairdresser to slightly layer my old extensions so they blended with my hairstyle and looked more natural :)

Amy Rotheram: Definitely make sure that the shade is like your hair colour, dirty looks are brilliant especially since I'm blonde it can be hard but shade matcher is brilliant. Also using the smaller clips clip them round the front as you can angle them in anyway you want much easier as blending the front can be very difficult.. hope this helps people my friend has dirty looks I've used them as well and would love to win a set!! xxx

Lauren Roberjot: I find that to make my extensions look as natural as possible, the best way is to apply them in first of all and then curl them in with my natural hair as my hair is always a natural wave it's hard to make it look perfect. I also find then when I've had a fresh cut my hair stands out more underneath so to overcome it, I clip all my hair up first and plait a thin layer of hair at the bottom/back of my head and clip it across, and then attach my extensions to it, to get rid of any issue I have with blending! I then attach them all appropriately and curl them how I want! I sometimes find that clipping the front of my hair up or with a hair band slightly ruffled up gives it a more natural look!

Alice Sanz: I find having your natural hair cut with a feathered finish as opposed to a 'blunt' cut really helps blend in your hair extensions, as the blunter the bottom of your hair, the more of an apparent 'line' it gives between your real hair and extension hair. So I would always recommend making sure you have a natural hair cut that compliments your extensions :)

Kathryn Chidwick: I find if you curl them along with your hair using a large barrel tong then lightly smooth out the curls with your hands or brush they blend well :)

Jacqueline Roberts: I think hair extensions look better when they are not that much longer than your real hair. Yours looks fantastic x

nina carter: I believe straightening your hair in with your extensions makes your hair look so natural and seamless.

Dionne Murray: I have blonde hair now and it's slightly darker at the ends and it's hard to make extensions look natural so I just got a mix of dark blonde and light blonde ones and i also like to tie the fronts of my hair at the back in braides to help cover any clips as my hair is pretty thin. Most people can't even tell i'm wearing extensions, another tip i also don't have them too long i like to keep them waist length looks a little more natural :) xx

Kathy McCarthy: I love these tips ❤️

Kayla Mackenzie: Wait is there a hair tutorial for how you curled your hair like this it's perfection

Pepper Martin Walker: Careful cleaning. Be sure to keep them clean but not overly. Makes them blend with your natural hair much more easily

Tracey Anne Gwynne: I find the best way to blend is to stick with the style of your hair. I have very thin hair, so I only use a few thin wefts, otherwise it looks like I suddenly have to much hair and it doesn't look natural.

Kateri Smith: Start clipping the extensions from the nape of the neck to the crown, clip individuals on the side under the bangs in the front. I have fine hair, so using more rows is more natural looking for me as it gives my hair fullness! If you just add extensions underneath and only on the bottom and none through the top I can ALWAYS tell, has a "mullet-ish" look...also adding some waves with a 3 barrel or wand help to look more natural...

Cathleen Freeman-Pask: A good haircut is my best tip for making hair extensions look natural! :)

Guro Dagsgard: I think the best way to make hair extensions look natural is to of course wear HK hair extensions and curl them while they're clipped in your hair!

Rebecca Green: to make hair extensions look natural, i would get the closest colour and then use layers

Sophie Michael: I find the best way to get extensions to look natural is to have them trimmed and blended in your hair and then wave them with a large barrelled wand!

Danika: Best way to make them look natural (besides accurate color of course) is by point cutting the end to make them blend better!!

Sylvia Gill: First get the correct colour match for your hair, I have previously dyed them in order to do this. then straighten them and if possible get your hairdresser to cut long layers. I backcomb where I want them to go, clip them in then comb real hair over to hide and use hairspray to finish, some days are better than others and practice makes perfect !

Twiddle Dee: I'd love to try hair extensions as my hair is so thin :( x

Sidney Zimmer: I find curling my hair with my extensions help it blend better with my short hair

Chely Margarita: I got hair extensions that were thinner than the thickness of my own shoulder-length almost-blunt-cut lob-type hair. I should've gotten a 220 gram set, but I got a 160 gram set bc I didn't know. I fix this by taking the 3 bottom sections & tying them back like you did with your bottom section. Is there anything else you recommend? Besides buying another set? Lol

Kristen S.: THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THESE BEAUTIFUL YOU'RE PHENOMENAL XXX

Inna Rodionova: Adding extra volume on the sides to make sure the front layers don't show out!!

【Sƚҽϝϝ🌎✌️】: Hello I've been looking to get extensions recently due to a bad salon experience. My hair is now super short approximately 3 inches in the back. I've been emailing the Dirty looks customer service back and forth but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I was wondering what set would blend best with such short hair??

Glitz and Glamour Makeup: the length part was really involved and helpful

MEGGO YOUR EGGO: Do these extensions work for African American hair and how many would you need if your hair grow medium length in the front but long in the back?

Tali Jahsel: There are many ways to make your extensions look natural if you know what you're doing. If you have short hair and you purchase 18+ inches of extensions your look will be off without making them look proper. When you put in your first track of extensions you can clip up against the hair on the back of your head, that way that track of extension gives off the illusion that your actual hair is that length. If you have layers, it is best to go to a salon and ask them to layer your extensions. Now with coloring, find the color that matches your hair, or if you prefer to have your hair an unnatural color, try to shower with your extensions still on so when you shampoo your hair/extensions will be the same.

Shawna Maddy: It's all about blending for me (:

livee28: The way to make hair extension look natural. Email dirtylooks/headkandy and send them a pic of your hair and they will email you with a shade that fits your hair color. I treat my headkandy extensions like my own hair. I shower with them and let them air dry and comb them once hey are dry from bottom to top lightly.

Keysia Colenburg: I think the length part was really helpful I have seen a lot of girls that alway have their extentions in to long and it Doesn't look good

Anneka Hulse: I find matching the true color really works

Russel Jacobs: You actually can see your weft in the mirror. It is sticking out.

livee28: How to make hair extensions looks natural ? Email dirtylooks/headkandy with a pic of your hair color and they respond quickly with the shade that matches perfect. I treat my headkandy extensions like my own hair. I shower with them and let them air dry, and comb them once they are dry and start combing from bottom to top lightly.

Kelsey Alfred: To make my 24-26 inch HK sxtensions look natural I l give them long layers, :)

underground Lady: Hi, I just checked your guys hair extensions and was a bit confused on the colors of the blonde extensions....I'm actually looking for bleach blonde 613 or something a bit lighter nothing ash blonde. Also I know you said you cldnt bleach these hair extensions but what about  toning these hair extensions?

Carlie Bryan: closest match to your colour but dont cut your hair too short

Selena Schmidt: very helpful:) which color do you wear?

Amy Carter: Do you have a video on the dirty looks ponytail clip?

Colleen Boudreau: Curl/style them with your natural hair.

Najet Batnini: How can I dye dark brown hair extensions red without bleaching them?

1806louise: I get my hairdresser to cut mine for me so they blend in with my hair and I make sure I replace them before they get ratty, uuurgh hate that look, why bother with extensions at all if you don't take care of them?

Sophie Robinson: I have dark blonde hair with light blonde dip dye, if I got blonde hair extensions would they blend xx

Ciri Hime: I need help, I got long 26inch straight extensions and their slightly darker then my real hair, and my real hair is long (about to chest length) and it shows under my extension (I have one piece full head extensions) what should I do to makr it look morw natural, I cant message on YouTube so if you may message me on kik and help me I would appreciate ~ mercedesdarkangel

Kelsie Gilmore: I love how you just forgot about us gingers

Regina Lewis: extensions= WEAVE don't be afraid to say it !!

Prapanpat Chuenyoo: you change the name from dirtylooks to M+B, that why i can't find you.I just think of a lady who has blonde hair and create hair style in awesome way and i think i have follwered her, where is she where is she?! oh gosh i found you and there is a new woman.

olla selma: what song is this?

SarinVF: Give them a wash! Gets rid of the fake perfect look!

Danika: Woops! Haha. EndS*

Cheer Chic Tin: People say only black girls wear extensions. Which is soo not true. But ur hair looks gorgeousss

Luisa Harris: What about us gingers!!!!!

livee28: Huh
