Josie and the Pussycats Tutorial Featuring 'Copper Shimmer' by 'Feria:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr6pXdi...

Okay, so I was going to do a tutorial today, but then I changed my mind because I colored my hair this morning and I decided instead of a tutorial to talk about this year color. So this isn't really a tutorial. It'S just product review uh, but I was pretty impressed. So that's why I wanted to go ahead and post this I'll probably have a dressing room series video coming up this week as well, so it won't be entirely uh. You know it won't be a week without two videos, but I just wanted to show you on this hair color, because I am so impressed. I usually use superior preference and I'm going to link all of my hair, color, tutorials or videos product reviews down below um. I have always used superior preference by L'Oreal. I love the texture of L'Oreal hair colors because it's kind of a gel consistency. It'S easy to get get through the hair and to get even through the hair um, and I have a tutorial on how I actually apply the hair color. It'S also linked below um, but superior preference. I usually go with medium auburn or bright auburn or dark auburn. Just kind of, depending on what mood I'm in and I have good results with it. It'S always even - and I really like the fact that I can kick it up after a couple of weeks with Manic, Panic or some other semi-permanent color, and that will give it that same bright, vibrant red that it had at the beginning, or maybe even a little Brighter but dang, I think I've changed for sure, going to change my hair color. I used copper shimmer by Faria the last time I colored my hair in I'm also linking the josie and the pussycats inspired hairstyle and makeup that I did also be low because that's copper shimmer on my faded red hair. I loved it, and so I went back to get the fairy copper shimmer color again and they were out. I didn't intend to change from preference, but they were out of my preference shade when I got the Feria to begin with. So now I'm like all into Faria, because I really liked what the copper shimmer did this time, they didn't have copper shimmer. They had Ruby rush and I noticed it said power Reds on the box, so I was curious about it turned out exactly the same shade as the color on the box and I'm crazy about it. Look at that. I'Ve never gotten a red dis, vibrant in a permanent red at the salon ever so I don't know why, but this is this was a really really good product I felt so let me tell you a little bit about it. It is, of course, it's a permanent hair color, but it comes with a few little extra bonuses in the box, which make it very well worth the extra price as compared to the other loyal hair, L'Oreal hair colors. It comes with your cream developer. It comes with your shimmering conditioning, color gel, and then it comes with, and I always mix those two things together in a bowl using tempera, and then it also comes with this little boost thing call or it's aromatic shimmer serum smells really really good, and it supposedly Gives the hair some Sheen, which I actually think it does? I think this really works, so you put that in there with your developer and your color, and then it also comes with something I've never seen in a permanent color kit before it comes with this thing called color booster. This is basically like paint. You put it in with your color and it will turn the color bright red like blood and it will if it gets anywhere it's going to stain it. This is basically Manic Panic just so you know this is a semi, obviously a semi-permanent hair dye that they are adding in with their permanent color kit, so that you can get an extra kick of red and it definitely works. This is this is on you know. I just applied it this morning, but will. But if you want to follow me on Facebook, I'll, let you know occasionally I'll give you updates on how the color is holding up as well as you'll see it in my coming videos over the next few weeks. But we'll see usually have about two weeks between when I color my hair with permanent color and then I have to use a semi-permanent color to brighten it up so we'll see if the color is extended any longer either way. I really like the initial application and that's to continue using it. So you get this and you mix it in with your color and your developer and your shine serum and then, when you actually after your hair, finishes processing, which would be about 25 minutes. You are going to go rinse your hair color out until the water runs relatively clear. Then you're going to use this rinsing shampoo, it's a two-step application and you wash your hair, really really um thoroughly lather it up really good. The lather will be bright. Salmon colored and you're going to use half the tube on the first wash you're going to rinse completely and then you're going to wash again and rinse completely. The two washes will prevent staining to your clothing, your pillowcases and things like that, which are all obvious problems with semi-permanent color and that's what this is so and that's actually something I've recommended always to do before. When you do Manic, Panic or special effects is to wash your hair a couple of times to kind of get that initial, like kind of dull powdery look off the top of your hair, because your hair doesn't maintain radiance. Whenever you use a semi-permanent color like it does with a permanent color, so you want to kind of wash that initial staining a light coat off of your hair and it usually takes me a couple of washes anyway. So this is something I've been doing all along, but I've just never seen a rinsing shampoo in with the color before and then pressed - and I am excited so I'm going to continue to use the conditioner twice a week like I always have. These are the best conditioners on the market. In my opinion, I absolutely love the L'Oreal hair color conditioners, and then I just use my drugstore conditioner and shampoo in between, but I wanted to go ahead and do this little review for you um what else? What else? Oh I'm going to be at the redneck Rumble in Lebanon. Tennessee this coming Saturday set up a booth there, we sell, lay right products and we also um. You know just kind of chat and meet-and-greet. We have. We have a truck that will be there and then there you know it's a nice car show there's good band there. So if any of you are local to Tennessee and you want to come over to the redneck rumble feel free to stop by and say hi and that's all I have to say about that. So we'll talk to you later, you

cherryjewel: I absolutely LOVE Feria! I've been using it for years, every time I've done red. I recently used a Power Red combo of Chocolate Cherry & Blowout Burgundy. Only one was a Power Red, but it worked REALLY well!!! I haven't had ANY fading & it's been 4 weeks! I only wash my hair every 4 days, though. :)

Tajda Persa: I absolutely love how your hair has turned out! I dyed my light copper hair with Preference's shade called Pure Scarlet for the first time last week and I'm very impressed with it, the results were the best I've had so far and I've been dyeing my hair for about three years now. It's vibrant and VERY red, can only recommend it for anyone who's thinking of going red :)

Blair Bear: Wow! I love that red hair color. That feria ruby rush dye is just amazing and perfect for when you want to achieve a nice bright auburn color. I have used this dye a few times before and it is the best! You are gorgeous by the way!

Jordan Elizabeth: This the same color I've used on my long, dark brunette hair. Of course I didn't receive the same result, but it was still surprisingly vivid! So, if you have dark hair you can achieve a nice deep red (fiery in sunlight) with this color choice. I love it. The maintenance wore on me, so I'm back to my natural dark brunette hair though. It's very gorgeous on you!

Samuel Hay: that looks amazing! I have naturally dirty blonde hair and I've been doing red just by dying it light blonde and putting manic panic over it, but it never looks good longer than a few days. I've been looking into permanent bright reds that aren't so damaging as professional ones are on my hair. I had a friend use this and I wasn't sure of it because on her it barely did a thing but her hair is naturally dark brown, so that's probably why. Safe to say your video has made me chose this color! :D

A Vintage Vanity: That is a perfect shade of red for you! I've been using this color for my last couple dyes and I found that for a red it holds up really well. My roots actually grow out before all the vibrancy fades.

Michelle Henderson: I love their hair color! I've been using Cherry Crush lately and am so happy with it! I have dark brown hair so mine comes out a little more auburn than what's pictured on the box but I'm very happy with it. Love love love that color on you!

Foxglove Flower: I had great results when I used this hair color as well. It fades really nice too, no splotches!

Maggie G.: I remember using Feria back in the day and getting some pretty stunning results! I don't know if I'd get the same results now since my hair is pretty dark.... anyway, your hair looks fab!

Celeste Vu: I'm actually dyeing my hair this colour in about 6 weeks. I'm very excited now, more excited than I was before. Thankyou for the review :) I even checked my box when I saw all the things you had in it. Hehe ~

Maekayla Nicole: I Have Used This Color Once, i loved It! It left my hair so Vibrant red, i have lost the color name until i saw this and i wanna thank you! now i can go to the store and buy a box of it(: Goodbye Blonde Hello Red :3 Btw if you have blonde hair and you use this it will turn really red js i think its for darker hair...Love your hairstyle(:

cranky1chick: The color looks awesome! I'm a Copper Shimmer user, but I'm starting on Ruby Fusion next month, to kick up the red for the fall/winter.

Alexxx.Ohhh: This looks great, I've been looking for a nice red box color. My hair is already post red and is fading out to a light brown so I'll give this a try :D

Anna: As a hairstylist and Star Wars fangirl, I can NOT get over how fabulous your hood dryer is! Wonderful <3

Princess Leia: Wooooow! This color is MASSIVE! I love it!!! You can pull it off no problem! I've been kinda wanting to dye my hair red , but my natural color is blonde, so if i don't like the red, i'll never get rid of it :(

DeadsLiveLonger: Your hair looks AWESOME. I never got very vibrant and long lasting results with store brands. Now I only use "Elumen" in RR by Goldwell and when I want to kick it up a notch I put some Manic Panic on.

Nancy Power: I loved the Feria products when I was younger! Now I have a lot of grey and Feria doesn't cover :( I wish they would create a line of vibrant colours for gals like me!!!

11caligirl11: AMAZING!!! This is like a miracle for those that like that vibrant red tone! :)

ShePaintsMusic: I used this on my hair ages ago on natural blonde, it turned out super dark and less bright red than I had anticipated.  I was still pretty happy with it.

twilameridian: YES!!! I love this hair Color!! its actually my current hair color and has been for about the last 4 years. I will continue to use this until i out grow my red hair phase of my life (which i have been in since i was about.... 5)

veronica08jcj: Love the hair color, looks good. I'm too afraid to use that bright of a red but I love it!

blank: i too like the loreal colors. i was using the excellence cream in 5rb and since my natural hair color is about a level 7 with some natural highlights of 8 in it, it isn't as dark as the box and develops more red than brown. however, it looked cranberry-ish and unnatural for a few weeks though it did fade nicely. i really loved how it applied. i switched to a garnier which looks better but it's so runny and drippy, and i need two boxes for hair just past my shoulders.

AKIYIAKELLY: I Love it! I just done mine today for the 1st time ever dying my hair. This Brand was great and it came out really nice. Yours look nice also :-))

Miss A: THANK U for this amazing video & explaining it all & the details!!!! I really needed this! I was just looking at this today! So gorgeous!!! Xox

kirasgirly: I'm loving this shade! I love Feria till I got lazy and just go get mine done at the salon, but this vid is making me want to go pick this up. Copper Shimmer never comes out right in my opinion on my hair :( This shade is actually the red I've tried to get before and could never seem to find the shade. Thanks for posting.

Cl Freire: I used this color for years, and I loved it. BUT, it NEVER got that bright red on me; don't know why. Also, it only looked really red (and gorgeous) under some kind of light source (sun, lamps, overhead lights, etc...). The problem is, we don't have personal floating spotlights, and I was tired of looking in the mirror and only seeing a redish brown. I want to enjoy my color, so, after forever using this color exclusively, I went with Loreal Hicolor Hilights in a mix of 2 magenta and 1 red ( I have long hair). Now, I can't stop looking at my hair. It's so amazing, the color. Wow.

goldiestarling: LOVE the results! looks stunning on you missus :D

crzyATEcupcake: I just tried that color last month and was rly happy with it initially. I know red fades quickly but this one faded out horribly in just two washes. Maybe it's just my hair though.

Rednwicked: I've used this color before, love it!!!!

Vang: My sister used this and it did wonderful! We are Asian btw. Nowdays though they've changed the photo on that packaging but ruby red is what I was looking for so thanks!

loanaea: typically the dyes that you buy from your drug store come with a twenty volume developer, your color and a conditioner, however a pro shop sells 10, 20, 30, and 40 volume developer, the higher the number the higher the lift to your natural hair color, they also sell the color boosters. and toners (for blondes).

Heather: wow I love that colour!! I have red hair too and that's just the way I like it, super bright and completely red!

Caitlin Hennessey: Wow pow! I love feria red dyes, they are so amazing and bright. Thanks for sharing!

Christy Leonard: I love your style!!! I wish I was bold enough to die my hair totally red. I have red highlights...maybe one day!

CMoo: @LisaFreemontStreet I have used many many box reds, and the Feria I use lasts the longest out of all the drug store brands I've tried. Definitely my favourite for reds!

inrdating2011: I did this color just yesterday and I loovvvveeee it and what is weird for me is awhile ago I had black lowlights in my hair and with this I had a small amount of black come out

Jason Dozier: I love it and I have used the color in winter and fall season its edgy because of my caramel skintone

ETHEREAL CELESTA: Using this Hair dye for Back to School, hopefully all goes well. Thank you so much for this >.~

StylemyClosetTV: Could you do a tutorial on Nicole Kidman's hair in the movie "The Others"? Her hair looks amazing! Thanks ;) x

Sarah Dexter: i cant wait to try this stuff. i work at hot topic and i always see the raw demi permanent dyes there. do you think that if i use this hair color and use raw to touch it up in between colorings it would work nicely?

April Moore: Love the color!! So pretty :)

Koberto82: Hi Ashley, I am going to try this color tonight. I normally do a Medium Auburn by Revlon. I am a natural dishwater blonde. How long did this dye hold up with covering your roots? After I dye my whole head, I always have to redo the roots in two weeks.

misscatalina711: OMG! I LOVE THAT RED!!! You are my high hair godess!

Chelsea Mazeall: What color was your hair when you dyed it?

Sandra Kabela: I wish I could go back to that color...my hair is naturally blonde so the upkeep was killing me...plus my daughter hated it because she said I didn't look like her mom anymore :0)

leeloolovesparis: i loooove it, you look so great!!i havent seen that range of color in my country, but do you know if they make orange tones aswell ?xoxo

Glamourgirl604: Hello, Lisa! Thank you so much for all your superb videos, you're really an inspiration for me:) I was wondering, maybe you know were I could find some vintage style, victorian hair combs? I would really appreciate:)) Thank you:)

Satine Von Black: I wish mine would come out that red... my hair was teal so I bleached it and then used Feria and it was like a medium red... did it a second time and it still came out light. So I am going to try adding the manic panic.. thats a great idea!

preservid: I Love Love Love feria!, The only product I use, , everything about it, color results, texture, even the smell is great!!!!!!!

Lizzie P: How much does this dye damage your hair? I'm trying to grow mine out and I need as little damage as possible, but I really want it to be red.

Zombie Baby: have you ever tried adore? i use it when i go red i use crimson red it stays in alot longer than other semi perminent brands and the color always comes out amazing :)hmmm im missin my red now :( hehe

Corinna Corinna: I always choose Feria over all other drugstore box hair colors because it leaves my hair really soft and the color lasts for a while. I haven't tried the power reds one. I'm holding off because it might not be very conservative for work, right?

LisaFreemontStreet: OR you might actually be interested in what I have to say about my current hair color routine, why I tried this, and generally appreciative of the fact that I took the time to make this video. :)

Frayknit1: May I ask, what is your natural shade? It seems like reds always look more vibrant on natural redheads, but maybe that is just coincidence from my observations. Love this red and curious to see how well the shade will retain its brilliance. Wish I could see you Saturday in Lebanon as I am a local, but my children's functions are taking me elsewhere for the day.

Sarah Strachn: Lisa, is your hair naturally light or dark? I've been doing my hair red for years and i'd like to try this product but my roots are an ash brown color so most reds don't pop quite as well. Just wondering how this one would do.

McScooterson: :D This is the same red I use. For the longest time I stuck with the Feria r68, but they were out one day so I tried this. Have stuck with it ever since.

meryc27x: i used this brand and didnt know i was supposed to put that color boostsr in, only because no where did i read to add it. i didnt want to risk anything so i did it without the boister and my hair actually got darker. lol silly me.

Mary Morandin: Love the color its fabulous!

Beautigasm: The color is amazing! You look fab :)

momma810: When you dye your hair do you use one or two boxes?

Teah Juarez: I think it looks awesome I'm a natural red head and when I color it other colors it always ends up red lol

blacklily624: wow it looks great! love feria

LisaFreemontStreet: It lasts a good six weeks in my experience. :)

sacredsiren: You look amazing! That color looks gorgeous on you! I love Feria, it is really fantastic and easy. I used the Blowout Bergundy when my hair was red and it always came out perfect and vibrant... just beautiful...

Keely Noonan: Love this colour!

Judy McCormick: Gorgeous hair color!

ShePaintsMusic: That color is awesome! And I kind of wish I lived in Tennessee.

Kiki Denison: haha thats the color ive been using! make sure the box has that power shot of red! i've gotten it without it, its no where near as red its more of an auburn, just got another box with the power shot of color and i'm re dying my hair today!

Hannah Laufs: for brunette like myself my hair colour is like a dark chestnut brown with hints of red in it, do you have any tips for me on what colour I should go for? I have had the colour rich copper as highlights, then I have had a like light brownish colour.

Henriette B: She rides, my fav song :D And i love your hair! Excellent combo! :D

LisaFreemontStreet: It is called RUby Rush, this one is. And yes my hair was already red. :)

LisaFreemontStreet: Yes I use the whole bottle, usually. :)

Yasmeen El Ghazaly: Hi, thanx for the vid! :) Ok since u seem like the expert here, i'm hoping you can advise me..so had light brown/honey colored hair, then i tried manic panic in vampire red (put it in my hair for 6 hours & used heat), turned out awesome, but bled like hell in every shower despite the vinegar wash i did...it faded out a bit after about a month which is expected...not so red anymore, more of a deep burgundy....i i bought the feria in velvet red....i'm gonna dye today, but i'm scared of getting orange undertones instead of deep red/fushia like manic panic which i loved...thoughts? thanks! :)

Dannie: I bought that same thing, but the extra tube you mentioned (the manic panic) didn't come with mine. :(

Shiny: Hello! OK so used this color... loved the shade but was so annoyed with the process. I spent thirty minutes in the shower washed four times just to get the excess out. Even after completing all the steps my hair still rinses red... this bothered me... did this happen to you? My second shower it stained my towel, lol, that wasn't too cool.

IssiRavenfyre: X3 You look like Natasha Romanoff from the Avengers! Okay.. I've been dying my hair red for a couple years nows and sometimes I stick with a color and then don't when I want something brighter. I saw this in the store the other day and wanted to buy it but wanted to wait a bit. I have/had medium brown hair which is now almost a strawberry blonde only darker from using that shade one too many times. So did you have to add any peroxide or beach to get it that vibrant cause i want this for xmas!!

Mary Morandin: I love the color!

stachelbeere91: wow love this color!

LisaFreemontStreet: @leeloolovesparis yes they do. Chekc the website for the full line of range.

maleficentdiva: I got the Copper Shimmer color and I loved it, but I didn't get the booster thing you are talking about in your video in the box I got, I guess maybe they forgot to put it in or something! LOL! But the color still came out great, My hair is naturally coppery red, so the Copper Shimmer made it deeper and more vibrant, I think I have found my new hair color brand, I normally use Loreal Excellence Creme in 7R which is close to Copper Shimmer, except Copper Shimmer is more vibrant.

Profl Redhead: My hair is dyed red but I haven't touched it up in 4 months, can I use this as all over or do I have to touch up roots first?

LisaFreemontStreet: @gothicxblackxtears If you are wanting to go redder, you can use whatever color you like to do that. Just look at the diagram on the box that show you color results onyour hair shade (can't remember if Feria does that but know Preference does). If you want to go lighter, I always recommend you go to a salon initially.

rain: so I happened to miss the color booster after I had already dyed my hair, if I mixed this color booster with the conditioner they put in the box, would it get the color as vibrant? thank you!

Dmm ice: How do you think this will show up on medium brown hair with a lot of red highlights? I actually had black dye in my hair that I had to strip out of my hair, so my hair turned out more with red in it once I stripped the color out. Thanks

Queen of Blondor: i used to use that red, its very nice, but like all reds its so hard to maintain that exact color, very nice tho

Sarah Strachn: @LisaFreemontStreet ahh that's what i always say about mine so if it worked for you it should do pretty well for me. Thanks Lisa!!

tkmaz: Any advice for women who want to go red but have brunette hair & darker skin? I'm so scared to pick the wrong color! My skin is fair, but tans well-I'm not olive complected, but maybe a tad lighter? I've been toying with the idea of red for years & the only thing that's held me back is my sister is a natural redhead - how can I compete!?

Jennn03: Did u bleach ur hair? Coz I have light red now, and hopefully mine will turn this red:) great vid, and u look pretty!

majinchichi: Love the song choice! Love Danzig!

lori: In the opening picture that shade is cherry crush. The very first image you see when clicking on your video Just clarifying because some people may buy that shade which is definitely not Ruby rush. Just clarifying

Katharine Francis: I naturally have red hair but want to do a color read like this.....it looks so cool!

LisaFreemontStreet: @Pinupgirl93 I actually prefer it a little lighter so some fading will be okay...I'll have to see how long this lasts because I'm getting conflicting reports. :)

gg010170: THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

Maygin Stormes: i love your hair color its sooo pretty

MsKiddokiddo: very pretty :)

LisaFreemontStreet: @tkmaz Choose a warm toned red...I think they look better on darker skin. :) Auburns or coppers...

veronica08jcj: Do you think that red will look good on everyone?

loanaea: that color booster, isn't a semi permanent additive. you cannot add semi permanent to permanent, they do not mix. it actually a permanent additive they come in a few varieties, you have your reds, violets, and blues, they work like toners, and professional stylists add them to dyes to tweak the colors. if you want a more purply red you add violet, if you want a bluer black you add violet or blue, and if you want a more vibrant vivid red you add the red.

LisaFreemontStreet: @LVdancerbabe hee hee...the dryer is a Babyliss Thermal Ionic (see my review...it was a GIFT from a viewer!) and my husband is an artist so he is painting it up for me. :) I'm a Star Wars geek.

LisaFreemontStreet: @1LeiaPrincess not necessarily true. I went from red to platinum a few years ago with very little trouble.
