ABOUT ME

Hey guys! I am a Canadian beauty "guru" - lol not really. I just love makeup, hair, fashion, design.. and I enjoy documenting these things. I'm not a false-eyelash, perfect nails, hair extensions kind of girl. My channel is for the everyday person - the lazy person, the person who colours their hair crazy colours once in a while, the person who has a budget and can't afford tons of expensive shit, the person who skips steps in the stereotypical beauty routine. This channel is evolving into something I'm really proud of. Join the fun, subscribe if you want, and we can be everyday people together. Y'know, if you like that kinda thing.

Hey guys, so today's video is about how to fix orange hair, and this is something that i get asked all the time, because i have a lot of hair toning videos. But i realized that all of those videos are really meant for people with just like brassy. Already bright blonde hair, i've had my fair share of orange hair disasters. Insert photos here actually didn't mind having orange hair when i accidentally dyed it orange. I just kind of like went with it for a while, while my hair was like healing and kind of just made, it seem like it was on purpose. That is an option as well, but um without further ado. Let'S get into the three different ways that you can banish orange hair, not yellow, not brassy, light blonde but actual orange hair. So the first method is only if you want to be like as light as blonde as me, for example. So let's say you had dark hair, you tried to lighten it, it's gone orange, but what you were going for was a light blonde. Maybe something like what i have you first must lighten it again and then tone it. So, to do that, i would recommend just using a 20 volume developer with powder bleach to get you to a lighter, yellow color. So if you only get to a yellow stage, then i would recommend the wallet. T28. If you happen to get to a very, very pastel, yellow or something like mine, then feel free to use the t18, the t10 the t11 or anything like that. So the second way to get rid of orange hair is, if you don't care about being really light blonde. You just want to neutralize the brassiness. So basically, what you have to do is just tone that color, so you're not going to be lightening it you're. Just going to be toning, it i get asked this question so much. Why didn't the wella t18 work on my orange hair, and that is because it is not meant to t18, like i said, is only meant for very, very already light blonde. It does fairly anything to orange hair. So what you need to do to tone your orange hair is to put a demi-permanent color on top. That is the same level of hair that you have currently often times with orange hair you're at a level six to a level seven. So at that point you would put a level six or seven demi permanent hair color on top of your hair. It will not change the actual lightness or darkness of your hair. It'S just going to neutralize the brassiness. So what you want to do is pick like if you have a level 7 orange hair, pick a level 7 ash tone or cool toned, demi permanent hair color on top, there are toners that are meant for kind of darker hair. Wella has one i believe, wella t35 and well at t27, are meant for like medium blonde. So if you're kind of on the more goldy orange, then you could try those. If you are like straight up orange, then i would definitely go for the demi permanent hair color, because it is going to have a little bit more coverage. This method can really be applied to any level of hair like if you have like a gold color. Then your hair is probably more like a level seven eight. So then you would put a level seven or eight ash or blue tone color. On top of that, if you are a level nine which is a yellow, you can use the well at t28 or a level nine demi permanent um. If you have level 10 like like what i would have right now, then you can put a level 10 demi permanent on or any of the wella toners we'll take on level 10 here and the third way, which is kind of similar to the second way. But the third way is, of course, just cover it up. You can use semi-permanent hair colors, you can use demi permanent hair colors. You could probably use permanent hair colors as long as it's darker than the orange that you have and, of course, general tips would be if you're trying to counteract orange. You have to use something with the opposite color base, so something that is blue, toned or ash tone. That'S really going to help eliminate the really brassy tones and, of course, like i said, a million times well, a t18 t10 t11. All of those toners from willa will not work on orange hair. They are meant for hair color. That'S already about my level, at least, if you have kind of light brown hair right now, but it kind of shines like red or orange in the light and that's kind of annoying. Another thing that you can do is put a gray or silver semi-permanent hair, color, semi-permanent hair colors do not need developer they're, just kind of like a stain like the manic panic, joyco k pack has the semi-permanent line ion color brilliance has a semi-permanent line. You can put a gray or silver color on top of your brassy like light brown hair and that will make it shine more silvery in the light to make more cool tone. I have a video on that that i will link down below if you're interested. If you have a combination of yellow and orange tones, then i would recommend evening it out so whether that is putting the demi permanent color on top or putting a darker color on top um just to make it all the same. Color or if you want to be all over the yellow color but you've got like maybe light, yellow up here but orange down here, then i would recommend just applying bleach to the orange part, leaving the yellow parts alone and then hopefully, they kind of even out And then you can apply a toner or demi permanent color on top of that, anyway, guys. That is the end of this video i hope you enjoyed. I have tons of other videos on toners and and videos of me dyeing my hair, so you can check those out if you'd like. Thank you so much for watching i'll, see you in the next one bye.

Vanessa Lyn: Anyone else sitting here with orange hair lol ‍♀️

Magnolia: I love how we’re all watching this video with orange ass hair lmao.

Hannnlei: Currently pretending like orange hair was my intention

Lizzie L: Sitting here with white roots, orange midshaft and banana yellow ends...

Mattie Norml: You haven't really experienced the joys of diy hair bleaching until your crying in your bathroom asking over and over "How did this happen?? It was supposed to be BLOND!!" amiright?

Mary B: this quarantine got me stuck with orange hair atm lmao

KARARAE: This is probably the most helpful video I’ve come across on YouTube on toning Orange hair!! You explained everything so clearly!! Thank you! :)

I.make.cute.babies: I hope I'm not the only one who intentionally went orange, big regrets.

Alicia R: I went from a bright Rihanna red wit dark brown roots & you literally saved me from me over processing my hair for no reason & completely making my hair fall off watching you're videos I learned how to tone my hair from the orange/light yellow color to what I consider a perfect ash blond thank you so much❗️❗️ your videos truly helped me I appreciate it

Alison Kilpatric: I love this girl. Sitting here with orange hair. Lol. What can you do.

Ivanís Torres: This is one of the best videos ever about how to poperly fix brassy colors with real expectatives, you can't pretend to go from dark hair colors to blonde or ash in one day, you can but it will damage your hair completely. Thank you Jess

Saphiire Hearts: Honestly answered a LOT of questions about how the last dye session went to wrong. We used SO much bleach and Wells T18 (as advised by the women at Sally's) and it did nothing. Wound up just dying it dark again bc of how bad it looked...

Laura C: I’ve been watching videos for a couple of days, looking for step by step guides for my daughter’s hair. This has been the MOST informative video I’ve found. Thank you!

R House: From a licensed cosmetologist: You have to go up one color to cover orange but not change your level. Example you are level 7 with orange color, use a semi permanent level 8. If you use a level 7 semi permanent on a level 7 hair, your hair will go one level darker to a level 6..

Ebony Thunder: Thank you so much for this video: straight forward, good advice. Just what I needed.

MisfitBarbieDoll: This is one of my fave videos ive ever watched .. Omg ... Ive been dying my hair dmfor a decade.. Wins and fails as to be expected... I LOVE that this was SHORT 5 min and honest... Very good info... All true and simple... Love u for this girl. Thanks !!! It was explained brilliantly bc i knew most of what you said already BUT the way you said somethings made me think and actually made more sense then the way i understood it lol. Like t18 only for yellow lightest blonde... Use semi dark to neutralize the orange instead step2.. I hope i repeated that right. Anyways this is great!!!

Jasmine Noske: this is so helpful! I currently have a hot roots situation going on so this was really helpful

Jess Fix: Thank you! This was so straight forward and understandable

Bexie James: Thank you. Fixed my orange hair (from bleaching out pillarbox red) to a dark/light blonde following your advice

Kristen Gallo: I bleached my hair to a level 6-7, toned with Wella t35 and ended up with a milder version of what I started with: very golden strawberry blonde with sandy ends. My skin is too warm for the color and I look weird. I’m scared to dye it! I don’t want my hair to fall out.

Anna Dziekonska: this video is super helpful! gave me some idea on the topic since my mom wants to become a blonde (she had natural black hair) and it's now currently a brassy/light orange color lol currently what we've been doing is re-bleaching it with boxed bleach (L'Oreal) for a 4 week or so waiting period since the hair does need a break BUT what i want to know is should we rebleach her hair again to get it be lighter or something or should i try using the wella t14 to first tone down the color, wait it out for say 3 weeks and then try to rebleach it? anyone have some suggestions? thanks if anyone can reply!

Stacie Halladay: I am SO grateful I came across this! somergirljess, you are the ONLY video I've come across that has given the true answers and results. I was actually worried about just adding toner(recommended by a few stylists) fearing what you said would happen (on my orange brassy yuk!) THANK YOU!!! I will try a Demi first You're awesome

AmazingMe!: Me : Orange is what I wanted Also me : Watching this video

Valentina Sulbarán: Hi there!!! YOU helped me save my hair! I'm a latina with dark brown hair... I felt in love with belayage and hombre style, and finally got it done by a hair stylist at a really nice beauty salon... She told me I needed at least 3 bleach sessions in order to get my hair to a decent place (AKA not brassy - orange) I went through 2 sessions, where she didn't do a great job at the placement of the highlights... also my hair was still yellow-ish - orange. A friend of mine told me I needed toner, so I did use T18 toner. MY HAIR STYLE FINALLY LOOKS EXPENSIVE and cute! All I needed was the right toner and this one you recommended in your vlog was the correct one for me even-though I don't have a fully blond bleached hair.

Candace Walker: Hey Jess, what toner do you currently have on your hair? It looks really good!

Kayleigh Ratcliffe: This was amazingly helpful advice. Worked an absolute treat. Thank you so much.

Callista Markham: Just the help I was looking for! Thank you!!!

Ciara S.: First time a hair dresser actually gives good and simple advice

albeeinla: Thanks Jess. I have a quick question for you. My stylist did my touch up and I have just one little strip of Orange. Do you think a bleach bath would be good for this? With bleach bath would you use developer or just the bleach and the shampoo instead? It's just a tiny bit .

Nikki’s Life: I love all of your hair videos! I just toned my hair with wella toner because you used it and it turned out great

crystalawen: Don’t tone over processed hair with the same colour level; as the over processed hair will grab the colour & go much darker than you want... use a shade lighter & keep checking the result...

Lou Kout: I started with light ash brown hair with a couple inches of root growth that was showing a lot of metallic silver gray , (about 2/3 gray), which is my natural color now after several years of dying it. Obviously I have way more gray hair than I started with years ago. I was contemplating going natural and letting the gray grow out completely however my husband and daughter weren't ready for me to go gray yet so I dyed it as usual. Apparently Clarol Nice and Easy has recently changed their formula and using the same color I have been using for years, ( Light Ash Brown), is now closer to a Medium, bordering on a Darker ash brown! I was shocked how dark it came out but my husband seemed to like it so I let it go and moved on like nothing happened. Fast forward several weeks and my silver gray was beginning to peek through again and so this time I decided to do blond highlights to break up the dark color a bit... They turned out orange and since the kit had one of those stupid caps that you pull pieces of hair through, I ended up having the majority of the top layer of my hair being orange, with all the hair underneath being the darker brown color! My husband almost fainted at the sight of me!... So back to the proverbial drawing board I went to try to salvage what I could by using Wella T18 Toner I had on hand in the hopes of bringing down the "brassiness"! IT DID NOTHING AT ALL! In my desperation I put on a baseball cap and went to the nearest store to get a permanent color from Loreal in Dark ash Blond, now being afraid of Clarol, hoping that it would even out the color and give me something closer to a light ash blond.... and would you believe it.... My hair turned completely orange! LOL! If you didn't know better you would think I was born a RED HEAD! my husband HATED IT ... as did I! I also ended up burning my scalp so badly that my scalp was weeping and ended up scabbing all over! Chemical burns from too many processes in one day? Chalk it up to a lesson well learned! I had to wait for my scalp to heal for a week before trying anything else! If it wasn't so damn funny I would CRY! So today I went to Sally Beauty Supply and the girl there hadn't the first freaking clue what she was talking about and recommended Wella T28 Toner which is a warmer blond! Thankfully I ignored her and bought the T14 instead! I let it process for the full 35 minutes and the final result ended up dark blond and is no longer orange, but is still a bit on the brassy side! At least I can go out in public without looking like a clown however, I am at a complete loss and cannot explain what the hell went wrong and how to get to a nice cool / ash blond! I have done blond highlights many times in the past with great results! I used Clarol blond highlights / frost kit, which is not my normal brand for highlights! The liquid consistency should have been a dead giveaway that it would be a gamble - MY BAD! LOL Should I chalk this up to a fluke or user stupidity? Does this have anything to do with the metallic silver hair I have? I have been noticing that the gray I have has been becoming more and more resistant to color over the years, especially around my temples. No mater what brand of permanent dye I have used it remains a metallic silver white color. After this debacle I am extremely tempted to give up and go to a salon! Sorry for the long story!

bea nicole: I just just dyed my hair and I needed this badly! Thank you!!

America Bless God: Thank you. I "liked" your video because you're genuine and get to the point. I can't stand the fake stylists or ramblers. You're smart and informed.

Sophie Gardner: Hi thanks so much for this video! I have naturally med-dark brown hair and I tend to highlight it with an at home bleaching kit then dye it with an ashy dark blonde permanent hair colour. I aim for an overall light brown look. Sometimes this works and looks amazing but sometimes the hair dye turns the parts of my hair that are un-highlighted a brassy red colour which I hate! I only really need the dye to cover the highlights but it's quite hard to single these out and stop the dye from touching my dark hair. Is there a solution to this? Maybe if I used a semi permanent hair colour it wouldn't dye my darker hair? Any help would be appreciated- thanks!

chinnychinchin: Your advice for going blonde at home is sooooooo helpful.

Naforbe: I used 12 ash high-lift with 40% developer and it did lighten my hair to a nice light level. It was still yellowish orange only at the roots so I used Wella t18 with 20% developer and it darkened my roots and made it even more orange. I was thinking of getting a blue toner to cancel out the orange but have heard blue toner can turn hair green. What do you suggest I do? Thanks

Flawed Beauty: Actually cream bleach lightens more than the powder and has oils in it to prevent as much damage as possible. Use Wella t14 toner or anything with a blue base to tone orange hair if you have more yellow do something with a purple toner like Wella t18. Basically Purple covers yellow Blue covers orange.

Felicia: I naturally have really light blonde hair and I have been toning it with silver shampoo or the wella t18 for years, making it almost a white colour. Recently I have been wanting to tone my hair a more golden blonde colour so I bought a demi permanent golden blonde toner and dyed my hair yesterday and it turned out bright light strawberry blonde. I have tried to tone it down a little bit with purple shampoo but it is still quite vibrant. Do you think I should try another toner or wait for the demi permanent dye to wash out a little?

sowzz zz: anyone who does diy blonde hair colour with dark hair has experienced this before. in fact I'm sitting here right now with brassy hair, not entirely orange but not far off. The most annoying thing for me is box dyes are so unreliable at times. I just bought a dye that lightens two shades supposedly, and so I tried it out because I'm not far off from a blonde colour I can neutralize and be happy with. So I go through all the trouble of dying it and it comes out about the exact same shade I kid you not, the only thing really noticeable to me now is it is more damaged than before lol, SMH! it really is a gamble at times but when it works out the results can look professional. purple shampoo can help to an extent I find. the best tip in this video I agree with is use an ash color the same level as the current color you have. so if you have a pretty dark orange, its going to have to be light ash brown or dark ash blonde. you can't get platinum hair unless as this video mentioned you have very light hair already. But If your goal is lighter hair wait until you are at that level first. I've made the mistake of going orange dying it ash and then lightening it again only then again to need to dye it another lighter ash. in the end it is less damaging to just get it to the level of brightness you want and then from there to neutralize the tone with a ash colour. I find the perm color works better but is more damaging. (I've dyed my hair over 100 times hair dying addict here). one last tip I've learned over the years is if you can control yourself plan to dye your hair close to before your scheduled hair cut, this way you can end up with quite healthy hair because you dye it damage it and then get some of the damage cut off.

Lori Isaak: Thanks for the great tips, very well-informed now to fix my hair

Nah Homie: Thank you so much super helpful for my at home chunky highlights!

xgtaopp: anyone else in quarantine stuck with orange hair and having family members roast you 24/7

Karina: So helpful and st8 to the point!! Thank you so much!!!

Yellow Rose: Hi I'm a new subbie. I loved your [about me] section. So glad you're not calling yourself a guru although you seem to know more than these so called gurus. You've gotten me out of some hair disasters. Thank you and Happy Belated New Year!

Sam Thruman: Almost wasted my t18 until I saw this video and realized I should just save it. Thank you girl!!!

Andrea O' Henry: This was so helpful THANK YOU!!!

Shaymus Art Tutorials: Your hair videos saved my bleached hair! Tysm x

Lisa DiStefano: Very informative! I was wondering if you could give me your advise? I had black boxed dyed hair with years of accumulation, I haven’t dyed my length in years, I only redid my roots but I’m in the process of letting my natural grey/white hair grow, I have grey roots and the rest is black, so I’ve decided to lighten my length but I also wanted to keep some black strands to to have greyish streaks, I saw a picture of this on Pinterest and fell in love. So went ahead and tried to only do highlights with a cap, of course my hair turned out orangey yellow, between levels 6 and 7 which I knew would happen, actually to give you an idea what colour it is, it’s exactly the same colour as what is shown in the thumbnail. I really don’t want to bleach the orange strands anymore, too afraid of frying it. I have a lot of hair but it’s fine hair. Would you recommend that I go ahead with applying an soft ash blonde dye or do I really need to bleach the orange strands once again before applying the dye? I would really appreciate your advise Thank you

Whitney Lee: Accidentally dyed my eyebrows orange with light brown henna lol! I’m here for real help! They are usually bleach blonde with a slightly reddish tint haha hoping light brown beard dye fixes it!

Gigi212414: Lifesaver!!! Wish i would’ve watched this before putting t18 on my orange hair lol

Margaretta Cruz: Watching for education purposes and omg. I've always had trouble with colour theory. It just wasn't my forte but this video almost instantly made it click in my mind. Im so happy I can literally cry. thank yoooou.

Tez A: Option 1: Bleach again. Option 2: put a semi permanent ash blonde on top. Option 3: go darker again.

San: Do you recommend any particular brands/line of demi permanent colors for fixing red? Looking for a level 7 correction for orange

Sara Kjeldsen: Thank you so much for this video. I was thinking of going with punky colour powder bleach with 20 vol developer since it seems less harsh. I'll just have to get a toner then I'll be all set to getting rid of this orangey mess! Excited. :)

nicole: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! FINALLY SOMEONE NOT DRAGGING OUT A VIDEO AND STILL NOT GIVING USEFUL INFORMATION. KUDOS FOR THIS VIDEO EVEN BEING FOR US ORANGE HAIR GALS! <3

Barbara Keating Wolk: I have been growing out my hair since March thanks to quarantine . I love my new color coming in but I still have both blonde on top and reddish tones underneath. My new growth is lt. platinum/silver front roots and 80% gray undereath. I feel like a calico kitty. Any advice would be appreciated.

Allicia L: omg you are an actual life saver, i was so frustrated that sometimes t18 works great and sometimes it doesn’t and didn’t realize t28 is better when my hair is a bit darker blonde and i just fixed my hair after freaking out for two days trying to get the orange out haha

Beverly Adams: Another orange quarantine victim sitting here ‍♀️‍♀️

E.: THANK YOU for your expert advice, you may have just saved me from further damaging my hair

Lauren Mease: Hi. I’m trying to get some color dimension back into my blond hair. I dyed the roots and it’s slightly gold and with light ends. I used fanci full fawn rinse out dye and it blends it seamlessly and I want to keep it longer than rising out every time I shower. What Demi level and tone you would recommend from going 10 to 9?

Katherine M.: So I went to a professional to try and become blonde, and I still ended up with yellow/orange/brassy hair. She told me it was because of the box dye I was already wearing, which would not bleach out even though she tried twice. Idk how to proceed. Should I go to the same lady for a second bleaching session? I really would like a light/vanilla blonde but am about to give up :(

Rachel Taylor Beauty: I’m a cosmetologist and I surprised my mom by coloring her hair after her asking me for a while. I colored it and it came out orange!!! We are so mad I’m hoping one of these tricks works!!!

SoulBFKinz Katcupkakes5 APTWA: I wanted to dye my hair a light blonde, but mom told me that my hair would turn orange like a tangerine. As a level 2-3 individual, I would say that I am lucky that I haven't did the coloring stage yet or my hair would turn orange.

Everyyoueverymiau: Thank you for the great video! It is a life saver!

Millie Allwood: I’ve had my hair red since July, it faded and I re-dyed it in September, it’s gone light orange and my roots are AWFUL so I’m bleaching my hair in 2 days but want to lighten it before hand :)

barbaranotav: I watched a lot of video on this issue, you are the only one who get the point and really helped me solve my brassiness ;) thank you

MLS: You should seriously be a PROFESSIONAL!!! THANKS for this explanation, It really helps us figure out which way we need to go to tweak it=)

juno !: If you've got gold orange hair, I wouldn't reccommend T35! It didn't do much for me, although it does look slightly more presentable and I'm okay with it for right now, it's still pretty brassy.

melanie van meter: I love your videos . I am about to bleach about 4 inches of roots. The rest of the hair is a golden blonde and I'm looking for suggestions.

Laidbackjo 90660: Thank you! Out of all the videos I️ went thru you make sense and it helps I️ hope I️ died my hair obviously I️ was about a level 3/4 went up to a maybe 6 I️ tried to tone it also used the purple shampoo left it in my hair nothing I’m going to try this hope it helps thank you.

random life: Sat here with bright orange hair and I'm keeping it refuse to bleach anymore haha just rock the look girls

Jolene Sacha Patmanathan: How did you fix the dark roots and orange lengths? I have ended up with the exact same problem so any help would be so appreciated, thanks.

LOCS LOVE FITNESS With E: This video was VERY helpful and informative!!! Just subbed ! Thank you!

DRARE: My girlfriend really dyed my hair and I’m sitting here panicking while she’s sleeping

tea: I bought an auburn dye(red brown) and applied it to my hair. I’m naturally a mousy blonde but I used a blonde dye about a year ago. The auburn dye just left my hair a light orange. I hate the color so much. I don’t know why none of the brown dye stuck but the accent red color is the only one that stayed. I’m honestly crushed right now.

McKayla Siemon: This is SUPER HELPFUL!! Huge thank you!!!!

Emma Costello: love you and your videos! have you done a video on your skincare routine?? would love to see that!! xox

brendaxlove: Omg great video! Only video I found that actually has the information I need! Thank you!

키위복숭아: Omg this lady is straight to the point and I'm loving it. So done with all these people rambling on and on .....

Jarno Exel: This video still saves me from time to time <3

Cya Surprise: 1 hour ago I put a lightener with 30 volume developer on one testing strand of my long-ass regrowth (8-9"), ended up with 2 inches of bright yellow roots and the rest of it turned orange. I must say it looks ridiculous cos my ends were and still are green from when I bleached the blue out of them about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm sitting here with purple shampoo hoping for the best, but I don't think it's gonna do anything. I need help

Chazity Bontempo: The lower part of my hair is like a level 5 or 6 cuz its really orange..and then the top of my hair is like a level 8 because it's pretty yellow/gold. So how should I tone? Or should I just go over the darker parts with one more bleach session until my hair is even & then tone?

Just Me: I love that we can all relate in this video makes me feel not alone

Ree Crow : Great! Wanted to make sure I understood it all properly. Are there any ashy or beige demi colors you’d recommend? I’ve heard of people doing this and it being darker than they expected.

Ashley Gash: This helped me so much thank you for your multiple explanations for diff hair color/ desired color

Anni Mae: I have long natural dark brown hair and I don't see myself dyeing my hair anytime soon but your videos about hair are still so interesting I hope that's not too weird

Alison H: I'm working my way up to going to my natural gray. I have dyed dark brown hair. Had 1 treatment of Malibu CPR which took a little color out. Going back for another treatment or 2. If I get to a point where my hair is orange, can I get to a light ash brown/gray tone from there or is that too light?

nothing important: I went from natural blonde to dark brown(which I kept for 1 year) to red and then brown again and after bleaching 5 times, my hair is still orange

Lumi LaBonte: Not everyone needs to bleach! My hair is (gets light from the sun but it's fine and dense)--grows out dark and I use a box color and the AG conditioner (purple)--apply to DRY hair and BAM...PLATINUM. The box color U use is the lightest MS. Clairol.

America Rose: So I bleached around the bottom 4-5 inches of my hair 2 times over the course of the last 2-ish weeks. It's probably around a level 6-7 but it's very warm with some brass. I've toned it and used purple shampoo but it has barely done anything to the shade of my hair. My mom got the Wella 9N permanent hair color for it. I'm gonna try putting it on to color the bleached parts of my hair (want to keep the rest of my hair dark). Will it fix the brass and lighten the bleached parts?

D M: The dark Auburn my hair turned after several rounds of Ion Color Remover and a couple very dilute bleach baths trying to lighten hair with years worth of black dye in it is, objectively, gorgeous. I just don’t think it looks good on ME. But man it is so healthy and shiny because I was so cautious and careful, I really wish I weren’t so pale with yellow undertones. Might rock it awhile anyway while I decide my next move.

Linden Wood: Since you mentioned the T35 toner, have you ever actually used it yourself? If so what was your experience with that one? Thanks so much! I love all of your videos, so helpful!!

Michele Powers: I have been dyeing my dark brown to a 9.3 light golden blonde for like 19 years and it comes out like brassy strawberry blonde But now I'm getting told it's to orangey What to do? I was always to not to use a ash color on hair cause it turns green because of all the gold in my hair?

stargirl3334: Okay, I have a challenge hair. I want all blonde, but my ends (they are at my chin... Any cutting is gonna mean pixie again.) Are brown/ orange and no matter how much bleach I've put on them with a super high concentrated developer (40) it won't go any lighter. Any ideas?

grace: i've just bleached my hair and it's white at the roots and ORANGE as hell at the lengths,it looks awful so i'm re bleaching tomorrow! thanks for this!

Strawberry Is here: Finally someone who knows what she’s talking about. Thank you much.

Thiccpersephone: My hair turned out relatively light, a pale brassy yellow shade, I tried T18 and it did tone it down a bit but not as much as I was hoping for, at this point do you have any recommendations for a good light ash demi dye to put in?

Melissa Patton: Hi!! Love your videos! I bleached my hair 2 days ago and used T18 with 20 developer. My roots came out orange I think because I didn’t leave the bleach on long enough. The rest of my hair came out great because it was highlighted before. Can I rebleach just the roots then use the t18 and 20 developer ? Also how soon can I do this? Thanks!!

BlueFox11: *Naturally I have dark blonde hair. I wanted pastel pink so I beached it to a yellow/white put pink splat dye on it. Turned magenta WAY to bright, and didn't want to come out. Multiple times I used baking soda, purple shampoo, dawn, vitamin c tablets, head and sholder shampoo, and developer. (Used these in different batches). Most came out but now my bleached hair has pink in roots and ends and the middle of my hair is brassy gold looking mixed with light yellow from leftover pink I'm guessing. And now I freaking miss my natural hair color and I'm beating myself up about it because it was so pretty and the brassy tone makes my face look weird so yeah. Fun time. Edit: Also I don't even know what color I should use to put on my brassy hair and if box dye will turn it green or not.. Or which brand or buy. Switching semesters in school in a week.....HELP*
