How To Wash Hair Extensions - Super Easy!

Showing you guys the really simple way that I wash my clip in extensions. I forgot to mention it in the video, but I only wash my extensions when absolutely necessary. It'll vary depending on how often you wear them, but I wouldn't suggest doing it more than once a month.

Okay, guys welcome back to my channel so today I'm going to show you how to wash your clip in extensions. So the first thing that I always do is brush through my whole set make sure there's no tangles in it. The brush I'm using is actually one of those tangled tamer brushes. I like using this because it's gentler on the hair and it doesn't end up ripping any of the hair out, rather than washing the whole entire set at once. I like to just do one or two pieces at a time: it's just a lot easier that way, so I'm gon na close all the clips and then I'm going to tie these two pieces together and I'm tying them off up at the top. I don't like to get the top where everything's wefted together, wet, because the more you get that wet and working mess with that the shorter the lifespan of your extensions is going to be the very top where the clips are can get a little bit gross and Greasy sometimes so I will wash that part, but I don't do it every single time. You know I'm saying so. I always wash my extensions in cool water. It just makes the hair look a lot shinier that way, and I'm just making sure that I get this little ponytail piece completely soaked and you can see the way I'm holding the hair, I'm not getting, that top part wet and I'm also letting the water just Run through the hair going in the same direction as the hair, so it's not tangling anything up. Then I'm gon na grab my shampoo. I will just use whatever we currently have in the shower. It doesn't have to be anything expensive or fancy, but preferably something that sulfate free. So it's gentler on the hair. You don't want to. You know strip your extensions too much. I just got a really gentle lather going on and then I just hold the hair underneath the faucet, so the water can let all of that shampoo just run through the hair. Then I will pretty much always use conditioner on my extensions again, I'm just using whatever I happen to have in the shower at the moment. If your set is a little bit older or it's feeling really dry, then feel free to use something a little bit more hydrate more intense. I will usually just let the conditioner sit on there for just a couple of minutes, but you can leave it on for like an hour. If you want, and then I will just rinse all of the conditioner out of the hair after the hair is all clean. I like to just wring out any excess water, so it'll just help the hair dry a little bit quicker and then I brush through it again. It just helps the hair dry a little bit faster, but be careful when the hair is wet. It'S at its most fragile state, so you really want to make sure you're being careful and you're holding the extensions up at the clips, so you're not accidentally pulling any hair out of the wefts. So I will typically leave the hair out on a towel to air dry overnight, but if you're in a hurry, you can definitely blow-dry them just make sure you use a heat protectant before doing so, and then once the hair is dry, I will usually spray an Oil or some type of leave-in conditioner on to it. It'S not like our real hair, that's connected to our scalp. That gets our natural oils, so you definitely want to make sure that you're adding some hydration back into the hair after washing it, but that's basically it so from here. You can go on to styling it as usual. Just of course make sure to use any heat. Protectant before applying any heat, but that is it for this video. I hope that you guys enjoyed it and found it helpful. If you did, please give the video a thumbs up and if you're new to my channel make sure you subscribe.
