Hey guys, it's your girl, kyla b and welcome to my youtube channel, so today's video is going to be about sister locks for fine or thin hair. I know when i just started my sister locker research, my journey whatever you'd like to call it. The first thing i did was get on youtube and the first thing i searched for was sister lux for fine hair, because i know that i have fine hair and i know that hairstyles i work from with thick hair, don't usually work. For me i mean, when i say, fine hair. I mean women who hair you can like see through when you put it in a ponytail. It looks like nothing. You know um, i'm talking to you guys now my fine hair, because i have fine hair hairstyles like box braids were always too heavy for me. They did things like rip. My edges out. You know um made my hairline go back a little and right here. My hair doesn't quite grow back, but that's for another day now i know one of my first questions when i decided to do research for sister lux was about whether it would be for my hair or not um. When i went to my consultation, that was my first question: um. Am i a good candidate for sister lux because, let's be real, everyone isn't a candidate for everything um. So at my consultation we talked about my hair density. We talked about the health of my hair. We talked about price, we talked about all that good stuff um. My consultant told me that i was a good candidate, even though my hair strands are thin. My hair itself is not low density like it's pretty full. It'S just. The hair strands themselves are kind of thin, so i know that that means i've always had to be careful with them. So i decided to make a youtube channel after i posted my hair on instagram and started to get a lot of questions about my sisterlock journey. You know how long was your hair? How long was your process? Do you consider yourself having thin or fine hair as well, and then i remembered when i was on youtube. I could never find any videos, so i decided you know what i'm going to make a youtube channel and i'm going to cater it to those other women who have finer thin hair and they want to know if sister locks are a good fit for them. My answer is yes: if you want them, go to the consultation, make sure you do. Research on a good consultant go get a consultation find out how much is going gon na cost you and just get it done. Okay. So this is my hair. Before i got it installed, if you look at it, you can see you can see right through my hair. You can see the blue wall, you can see my black and white stripes. My ends were horrible, but i didn't bother clipping them because i was getting them locked anyway um. So this is just yeah more footage of my hair. Before i decided to lock it, you can see my edges, you can see um. You can see that my edges aren't all that great and those are because of cornrows those because of box braids real low maintenance, real low tension. So i'm going to show you what thin hair looks like my thin hair looks like in a ponytail. If your hair looks like this, you probably have thin hair too. You see it, you can see right through it boom. It looks like there's all that hair and it looks like nothing now in this ponytail all right guys so mom, my bonnet today's installment day number one okay, so my consultant, her name is stacy. I got my hair done at vanity hair studio in brooklyn. If anyone wants to know um stacy, i told her that i wanted small locks, not micros, but i wanted small. They look really small on me because again my hair is thin. My hair strands are thin, so you always see a lot of scalp anyway. Now stacy started in the back of my head. She did like the main back section, as you can see right here, and she did a little bit of the front and then it was time to go so here you can see that grid that everybody's always talking about it looked good. I'M telling you it looked good on day one i was excited when i came home. Ah so we actually cut my installation down from three days to two um, my consultant. We only had she was almost done the first day and she was like it would probably take another three hours or so to get it done, and she asked me if i wanted to stay and get it done, and i said yes, let's get it done so That we don't have to wake up early tomorrow morning and coming again, so we did look at it. I was so excited. I couldn't wait to come home and play with it. This is just some sectioning, so you can see. Of course, it looks thin like this, because assisted locks always look them, you just get them installed and because again i have thin low density hair. This is about a week later, as you can see, definitely thicker than it was on installation day, still thin, still scalpy, but definitely thicker and that's only after a week. I have 257 locs and it was done by a certified loctician with over 200 heads under her belt. They are very small and the perfect number for my hair type and my grid is on point!

Markij1027: My fine, thin hair has NO density. I tell people its because of a mysterious condition,but it's just old age and genetics in my opinion. My mother and grandmother's hair was also superfine and thin. Those locks look lovely. But I'm seeing that the install and maintenance costs are through the roof! Definitely for high income generating ladies! Plus i believe it's in your best interest to learn how to maintain and reloc your own hair and Im awful when it comes to such things with hair. However I'll keep watching in case I win the lotto and can afford an assistant in my retirement casa in Mexico....

I also have thin long hair and I mostly braid mine because I love braids but even braids can be a problem yes cause my scalp gets tired very quickly. I braid my hair every month into a different style. I'm also thinking I can get away with braids during locking process but not initially.
