Hi, you guys welcome back to my channel, so this is my second time filming this the first time um. I did a whole bunch of videos actually and then, when i went to edit them, i realized all the sound was very terrible, very cutting in and out now i have a different sound hooked up, we're all good to go. Hopefully, fingers crossed. So what we're going to be talking about today is toning. The yellow tones out of your blonde highlights. So i'm gon na give you guys a color perspective as well as a do it yourself. Do it from home, no matter what your um background is in in hairdressing, hair color, anyone can do the diy version. I'M gon na tell you guys about um, but i thought we would start off um with a quick shout out to my channel. I recently hit 35 000 subscribers. So thank you guys all who new and old subscribe to my channel. I truly appreciate it. I appreciate your likes your comments, your shares, so thank you so much and to celebrate. I want to give back to you guys, so i'm going to be doing a giveaway so make sure you guys stay tuned to the whole video um yeah. Let'S get into this. So, first of all, i'm going to talk to you guys about the color, um and toner i use so i'm going to explain to you a little bit about color and i don't suggest lightening your hair at home. If you don't have any experience, because it is a little bit more difficult than just applying your regular color, because when you apply a lightener, it is not just coating your hair strand, it's essentially lifting layers of your hair strand away to reveal this nice blonde end. Result or whatever you're after so our hair. Let'S look at this. My handy dandy, little arts and crafts color wheel that i made and of you surprisingly a lot. So when you are um there are different levels of your hair, so a level one is black. Is black a level 11 is like your platinum blonde, okay, so the higher the number gets, the lighter blonde. You are so when you start out - and you are say black, you have to go through all of these levels of stripping your hair until you get to a light blonde. So that's why? Sometimes, when you go to your hairdresser, black hair, i don't care if it's virgin or colored - and you say i want to be platinum blonde and your hairdresser says well, that's not happening in one day. That'S the reason why? Because you do have to strip away all these layers and if you want hair left at the end of your blonde color or lighter color from black, you do have to do it in a gentle process to still have hair remaining on your head. So that's why? When you went to the hairdresser and you're like i want to go from black to blonde, and she said no, that's why so, when you start out as a level one you are lifting through all these layers, so you're gon na have to do it in stages. Until you get to that end result that you're looking for. I am about a level six, so i fall right about here. So when i start to lift my hair, i get an orange and then an orangey, yellow and then a yellow. So i can do it all in one shot and that's why i can get to this nice icy, yellow blonde. You saw in the intro my hair was a nice chicken yellow, so that is normal. It'S because we have these undertones that we have to lift up to and then once you get to that level, you need to tone it. Essentially, a toner is a color with the contrasting color on the color wheel to neutralize your color to get a nice natural. Looking um blonde or any other any color you're going for um. So if you lift to let's say the yellow you're going to need, apply to apply a toner that has some sort of purple in it. That'S going to cancel that out and give you a nice icy blonde. If you're trying to get a nice caramel color, then you're going to need something with a blue undertone. That'S that you're going to have to tone it with to get a nice neutral kind of caramel tone without brassiness. So i hope this all makes sense as far as toners and the hairdresser side of toning, your hair, when you go to get your hair highlighted. So then um as you wash your hair out, it might let go. It might really suck up a color, your toner, so you might find that it. It might go like a violet kind of lavender blonde at first and then, as time goes on um, with your hair being porous, it's going to let go of things too a little bit quicker. So it's going to eventually you're going to wash out that toner and you're going to be left with that brassy blonde again and you're going to be like what the heck. Why is this always going brassy and so the way that you can maintain it at home and my favorite way like i love a good toner but, like i said, mine washes out pretty quickly like even with it just with one wash, so it does. If you go home a little bit more ashy than you would like that's better than going home a little bit more golden, because it will wash away eventually one quick tip before we move on to get the most out of your toner um after you get. It done at the salon or after you do. It yourself is to not wash your hair for at least 24 hours. If you can do two days and that's going to really let it absorb into your hair and last just that little bit longer and then you're going to want to tone it with purple shampoo, so you've probably heard of purple shampoo somewhere along the lines they're very Popular, so this is a bit of a lighter shampoo. This is blonde life, violet shampoo by joyco, here's another one matrix brass off and it's a little bit more blue. Then there is another, these two and the longe violet shampoo. These are my top three because they are very concentrated in color, so you're getting a good bang for your back with these with these ones. So if you are a little bit more of the whiter blonde, you might want to opt for something like the blonde life shampoo, because it's not quite as concentrated. I find um if you do have kind of more orangey golden, and your hair is a little bit more stubborn to neutralize with a purple shampoo. You might want to try the large one or this matrix brass off. I'M just going to show you guys what it looks like and approximately how much i use on my hair to tone it, because it's a slightly different process than just regular shampooing. Your hair, not much like it's not difficult. But if you want to get the most out of your purple, shampoo, i'm going to show you. Do i like to use a little bit more than what i would normally use for shampoo and just because you want to coat all of your hairs as the conditioner frick i brought the conditioner downstairs so anyways there's the conditioner, so the conditioners of the purple shampoo Will have reconstructors in them, and things like that that are really good for your hair, repairing it because, like i said it's a little bit of a damaging process lifting your hair, so you want to um, really keep your hair healthy as well, so that you're not Having dryness dullness frizz breaking anything like that, and if you are lifting your hair in a healthy way, you shouldn't have that happening. Um i'll, be right! Back! I'M gon na go get my purple shampoo, so i can show you guys, okay, so my tips for getting the best results with your purple shampoo is to a you want to make sure that, especially if you use a lot of product in your hair that you're Shampooing your hair twice because the first shampoo is just going to get rid of all of that build up, loosen it up and then the second time you're going to get a really nice tone and again just get rid of any of that um product that didn't Get washed away in the first shampooing when you are shampooing the first time it doesn't matter shampoo, your hair, with your regular shampoo. If you want shampoo, it really how you would regularly with your purple shampoo, it doesn't matter, then, the second time you shampoo, your hair you're, going to want to use quite a bit more because you want to get your all of your hair strands coated with the Purple, because if the purple does not touch the hair, it's not going to tone it. So that's why, depending on how long your hair is depending how thick your hair is you're going to have to adjust - and this is something that you guys are going to figure out playing with your purple shampoo and trying different things out. So i use about this much on my hair, which might seem like a lot to some of you, but that is how i get the best results with my hair and i have been purple shampooing like you guys. I have been an ash blonde addict since before it was even a thing, i'm just putting this all back in the bottle here. One second, so yeah trust me when i say i know what i'm talking about when it comes to purple shampoo. So sometimes you might have a little bit too much lavender to your hair. Sometimes it might, you might feel like it didn't do anything at all and that's where you're gon na have to play around with how much product you're using and when you get that that amount that i showed you guys on your hand, you want to rub it. So it's coating all of your hands and then i go back like this and make sure that it's smooth over all my hair and you don't want to suds it up as much as you would, and some of you might do this a different way. This is just what works best for me. You don't want to suds it around as much because that kind of eliminates that purple tone that you want um touching all of your hair. So i just kind of smooth it over run it through my hair like this, and then i will let it sit. So then i'll do you know i'll give myself? Maybe a pedicure in the shower shave wash my face. Do all those things - and i let it sit on for about two minutes and i rinse it out, and that is what works best for my hair for other people. You might need to let it sit for five minutes for some. You might just need to put it on wash it off. It all depends again on the porosity of your hair and what level your hair is at. So if your hair is at um a little bit more of an orangey brass, then you're for sure going to want to use like something like this or the launch violet one with a lot of like blue purple uh tones to it, because that's going to help Like on your color wheel, that's going to help cancel neutralize those orangey brassy tones and if you are more of a pale, uh white blonde to begin with, when you're trying to neutralize it you're going to want to go with something a little bit more on the Violet, a little less concentrated so that you don't have a violet head of hair when you're done, because you will, if you use a blue shampoo on white blonde hair that is very lifted to a level 11. You will come out with lavender hair and maybe that's the look you're after and if so then go ahead and do that. So that is how you're going gon na get best results. Um with your purple shampoo to maintain it at home. Do not underestimate the power of a purple shampoo, you guys, because my toner that i do that is a color, doesn't last very long, and if it wasn't for my purple shampoo, i wouldn't have this ashy blonde hair that you guys always say how do you get That color so go and find yourself an awesome purple shampoo i'll try to find links for all these ones that i talked about that i love i've tried a lot of purple shampoos. In my day there is another one. I'Ve tried surface, it's a really good brand. As well very concentrated too, it just kind of turned my hair a little bit too purple i found so it's very concentrated. So if you want to try something like that for someone who has very orange brassy hair, you might want to check that one out um and as for my recipe, so i told you guys that i would let you know my color recipe, so the color that I use that is tried and true, never fails me, i love it and it doesn't matter if i lift to a level 10 or a level eight it works. So i use one to one of 8v matrix color sync demi permanent, with a sixth vol or a demi permanent developer, one to one so one ounce, if you're using one ounce, color use one ounce of developer. I mix that up and what i do is i put it on, and i put it on quite quickly and this is why i love it regardless, if you're a 10 or, if you're an 8, because it will tone anything in that range um. So, let's say you're toning, something that's a yellow level 10 or 9 you're just going to want to watch it very carefully because it's going to process really quickly within minutes and then you're going to want to wash it off. Really quick. If you have something that's more of an orangey yellow like a level 8 orangey, yellow kind of color, a deeper yellow, um you're just going to want to leave it on a little bit longer. And then it's going to tone it to this super nice beige blonde. But you're going to have to wait a little bit longer for it to add those darker pigments that come over time. So first it adds the lighter pigments and then it gets a little bit deeper and deeper and so it'll eventually neutralize it. You just have to wait a little bit longer. That is why i use the 8v, regardless it's just my ride or die uh toner for most every blonde, so um. Now, let's get into the giveaway you guys! Thank you so much for anyone who tuned in right till the end of this video. So i wanted to give back to you guys, like i said, for subscribing and all your support. I truly appreciate it and because it's not only important to maintain the tone of our blonde, you also want to maintain the health of your hair as well. I'M going to be giving away a treatment mask as well as a heat shield, so this is what you're going to use to protect your hair from any heat damage of from styling tools, blow dryer things like that um, and this is a treatment mask. So you use it no more than once a week and on towel dried hair, let it sit on for five minutes. Rinse it off and both of them are infused with keratin, which is what our hair is made up of. So it's going to put back all of that nice protein back into our hair, so hair is nice and soft and strong, and so all i ask is that you guys, like this video um, already be subscribed to my channel and just post down in the comments Either something uplifting or let me know how long you guys have been following my channel um and then i will pick a lucky winner and announce the winner next week in my feed. So if you guys um click the subscribe and notifications when you're scrolling through your feed on youtube, you guys will be notified of the post. I will also share over in my stories on instagram, and i will be sharing another video over here, where you guys can check out how i cut my hair like this at home. It has over 3 million views already i'll, also link another video here, for you guys to check out and click my face right here to subscribe, and i will hopefully see you guys next monday, bye

Leslie Ostrosky: Going through this year has been hard on everyone. I have been very down myself, but when I found your page and saw your hair and how to achieve it, gave me such hope. It was your hair and makeup that got me thinking about myself. I'm a lot older and overweight. Getting my haircut close to what you have has really made me feel good. I played with my makeup, curled my hair and for the first time in a long time felt pretty. You really gave this to me and for that I thank you. I'm still working on getting my color right and all of this gives me the confidence to want to lose weight. It's going to take a lot of time, but I will get there. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Jessica Prowant: I started following you this summer because I was attempting to cut my little boy’s hair, and I followed your tutorial! I absolutely love your whole aesthetic/brand, and feel like we are very similar in a lot of ways (right down to favorite purple shampoo to use...weird) Watching your videos has really inspired me to embrace parts of myself that I think I started leaving behind, so thank you! ❤️

BexBlackSheep: I started watching you at the beginning of 2020, and have even worked up the bravery to cut my hair similar to yours back in May. I always struggle with brassy hair so thank you for sharing your tips. I recently picked up the Brass off conditioner in hopes for toning so was a little disappointed how lightly pigmented it is, but I do like that it conditions my hair well. So I will just have to add the shampoo also, and I will look for the Matrix 8v and give that a try as well. Great to see you back and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Angela Calenzo: Your hair is so beautiful ! What you did for this nice waves ? Thank you so much !

N. Tulin Tacettin: Hi thank you so much!!! You've explained so well. Do you know how many times I watched videos about this wheel thingy??? Ok I still have a question. As you were showing the wheel you said you need a purple toner to get blonde without brasiness. Forgive me if I misunderstood. So you mean add a blonde toner that includes purple or add a purple toner like just a dab or more? What number would that be?? I got the shampooo. Didnt know there was a conditioner very awesome. Thank you for all you do!

christina gavriel: Looking forward to all your help advice

Anesidora Pandora: Which one did you use? There's two different one in 8v by matrix colour sync. They do a hair colour and an acidic hair toner. Or are they the same?

Magdalini Kasimis: Hi what a wonderful video your so helpful ans knowledgeable . I really struggle with brass right after getting colored and toned maybe like 1 week . My old stylist won’t give me the recipe that kept it from doing that . And I’m pretty sure it’s matrix 8v now from watching !!! Josie Luna: Hi I’m your new follower, I love your hair color but I have a question, what is the product name for the keratin and oil product you mentioned on the video?

Emma Dew: Which purple shampoo do you use on your hair color to get this ash blonde please? I need one to maintain my sliver/grey color, it's bleached. X

روشنک ایرانی: you hair looks so beautiful i am going to buy this brass off and try it on my hair...thanks

Bbag: I had been waiting for the video... love the color and congratulations on your new baby... Merry merry Christmas

lisa Williams: Fanola blue is awesome for orange...it's highly pigmented

Alina Stechyshyn: Thanks, I will try Matrix 8v. Is 6 vol developer strong enough? I used 30 vol to bleach my hair.

Evelyn Neighbor: Great tips

Julie Ellis: So, to make my hair the color of yours all over, I would use the Matrix color all over? Does Sally's carry this?

lisa Williams: U use a 6 volume developer?? Is that strong enough? Is it just regular developer?

lisa Williams: What actual toner do u use? What color toner?

RocketFlyer: Which Color in the Matrix Color Sync Range? Sheer Pastel Perl SPP?

lorraine murton: just found you ....loving your hair advice

Hollie Jackson: I love your hair!!!

Hollie Jackson: Also did you only apply to the new growth?

Hollie Jackson: Did you announce the winner? Love your channel!!!!!!!!

Jane Rymus: I love the blonde around your face beautiful

skull1234444: can you show us how you do your hair highlights

Katt Tam: So I just recently got My roots touched up. My hair is ashy color. She had left the bleached on for too long and toned it. Came out platinum white. How do I tone it down to ash without it turning bluish?

lisa Williams: My hair is a light ash blonde...I use to be a medium blonde/brown is natural. I like the color of your hair. Do u get that color with the matrix demi permanent color u use or u just use it on the front blonde. I'd like my blonde the shade of yours. Will the matrix one u said do that if I put it all over? Can u give the exact matrix u used if it will work on getting my blonde the color of your blonde. And only use 6 volume developer? Would 10 be too much

Dllama: What color is your root?! It looks beautiful with your blonde.
