Model/MUA- Kat O'Connor @katocosmeticart

Hey guys, this is Rebecca's tailor with vivid artistic hair design. I am filming and showing you guys another video on a color. I'Ve done this one. I don't have a model named Kat and she was my model for a class that I taught I offer education by the way I'll come to you, you can come to me. I actually have Skype education as well, but this particular class was for the next level salon and I demonstrated my chameleon color technique, and this is the one I showed you last time, but it was on longer hair and sort of a peekaboo and this one's on A really short pixie type cut kind of like Miley Cyrus um. So, despite what you think about her her hair cuts fast, I don't care what you think so anyway. This is the color on her and her on her that'd be cool, but no. This is a color on Katmai model and I'm demonstrating a very deep violet, raspberry color that goes to a blue down to a lilac and they're, actually little pieces of a paler lilac and almost a platinum, and I took the photos and capped it on makeup. And I'm just going to demonstrate it for you and show you guys some of my color techniques on a short hair model. So please keep subscribing. I really appreciate seeing all the views and the subscribers I'll keep posting more videos, like I said hopefully once a week and I'm just excited to share with you guys. So tell me what you think, some things that you would like to see and I'll try to get them to you and I'm just promised, and I appreciate it - follow at vivid artistic hair design on Instagram and Facebook and yeah. We don't do Twitter, but all the other ones. I really appreciate it thanks for watching this photo is of my model cat. The hair you see in this photo is 17 weeks grown out from the last color we did, which was an electric blue, and to do that color, we pre lightened her entire head, like all-over Lightner and applied the electric blue and 17 weeks later. This is what it faded to. It is a slight bit lighter on the ends, then, when she came in because I used a developer and a lightening booster to remove some of the pigment, but I have not and will not use any bleach or light nur in this color technique today. So the next part I'm going to show you is how I applied the base color to her new growth, not Lightner again, so I used two level 4 double violet with the 30 volume to get the base that that we wanted and then I started to apply The fashion color, which in this case I use Pravana a mixture of purple or violet rather and clear, and here I'm applying it so I've got the base on of the for the level 4b and then on the ends. I'M putting the second violet mixture down into the blue and keeping the ends free from color for it. For this point in time, anyways and then I'm going to mix another color, that's going to be a little lighter still and basically I'm using the same color formulation as the as the mid-range one just mix with clear. So I get a lighter lavender on the ends and then after I've applied everything in this manner like a color melt manner from the roots down to the ends. I put on a lightening booster in just some select areas, so that removes some of the pigment and then I'm left with a little like little platinum pieces. So have fun with this. You know just just do what you think would look nice you're not going to mess anything up. I know it sounds crazy, but do what you feel have it be really organic? It doesn't have to be really structured when you're working with fashion color. You just have to know the fundamentals and the principles of it: how to rinse how to take care of at home, and you end up with some beautiful results and in the next frame, I'm going to show you more application. Apparently I don't crap, you can keep talking. I can edit okay, so I'm just going through meticulously and I wipe my gloves off a lot in between just to make sure I don't contaminate. If you will the ends where I want to put another color. So here's a freeze-frame or still - and here is the after - where you see the blue in the middle. Since I didn't use a blue, I put the violet over her areas that were that's heel color. It pulled a very, very pretty midnight blue, and this is our final result. I hope you like it. I think it's gorgeous so enjoy and have fun experiment. You know try some new techniques if you're scared about doing it on a client, then do it on a mannequin. Do it on your friend student yourself. You know just have fun with this. This is an art form so between you, viewing it as an art form in your passion for this field, and this type of color you'll come up with some amazing result. You you it just be like I'm just working on a man.

Amanda May: I'm so glad you post these how-to's!! I live in the deep south, we NEVER get education on these colors, and I'm the only one in my salon that does them. It's especially hard when I want my hair done, so thank you thank you THANK YOU!!

Renee Wallis: Your amazing at what you do I can totally say I was probably one of your first "clients" even before you went through schooling and you have a natural talent for hair and making people feel beautiful inside and out... I remember when you layered my hair when we were about 17 or 18 yo :) in your Mom's bathroom and i remember the fire engine red color you did for me at your apt that you and Grace shared!!! It was so awesome!!!! You have a God given talent and I'm proud of you friend ;)

Sadie Gray: Thank you for sharing your talent with us all!  I appreciate how specific you are for not only your formulas but also your technique......and you always tell us WHY you are using those formulas/techniques; which makes the knowledge 'stick' for me.  Love your style!!

Andrea Lux: So gorgeous! Getting my hair dyed blue next week

tami harwood: Oh thank you so much for the tutorial It turned out absolutely beautiful!!! I so want to try this on a client! ♡♡♡♡♡

Bridget House: Awesome!!  I would love to see a video of you doing the finishing and styling and photography after one of your amazing creations.

Chris Holtsoi: SO gorgeous! Love your work.

ErinEskimo: This is absolutely gorgeous! If only my parents would let me! I have a slightly longer cut than Cat and I've been wanting to do a color ombre for SOO LONG...SO LONG! I'm 17, and they won't let me color my hair with any lightener or bleach (they think it's so damaging that my hair won't grow back!) Soooo... Is it possibly to do a color ombre without a lightener? My hair is like a milk chocolate color. If so please do a "tutorial" so I can show my stylist/parents!

Adrys Bernal: I totally love this result , its a beautyfull hair style and color

Studio H Salon HeatherBurnside: love this so much!!

Komerican10: Beautiful!:) can you do a subtle warm ombré or color for long dark/medium brown hair? I am looking for ideas for myself:) thanks bunches!:)

Cheryl Spinelli: So, I would really love to do this on my hair but I need to know the actual names of the colors used. Also my hair is not already lightend, so, should I do an all over lightning, or go through the entire 17 week process with the electric blue. Any tips to help me truly achieve these deep beautiful colors would be extremely helpful. Thank you!

Stephanie Manus: Awesome work!!

Brittany McNeely: SO GORGEOUS!

fellymoLuvz2cut: Gorgeous!!!

Vintage Fox: Amazing!! you are a hair wizard (':

The Crafty Cyborg: Gonna be honest, I was kinda disappointed with this video. My hair cut is super similar to your models (love it! Been rocking it for a decade now and it’s super easy for a disabled woman to manage solo and way easier to contend with than my very long locks were after surgeries) and I’m struggling to find tips/instructions on how to do highlights/tips on hair like this on the back. People always demo with only the front, which is the easier part to figure out. After several days of trying to find the details I need, I’m just giving up and winging it. I figure I’ve got a 10 wash color so if it’s horrible, I’ll just hit the pool for some extra hydrotherapy sessions this week and get it out. Hopefully it’s not too bad- our instructors have bailed on us the last few weeks so I’m “teaching” a small group tomorrow (I was a dance teacher ore-accident and have done hydro pt many tines and been in this particular class for a solid year now, so I somehow “won” the popular vote, lol. I’d rather not get ribbed by a group of women who are mostly 30 years older than I am, lol. (They’re great, especially for a group that’s mostly retirees. No one there cares that I’m only 31.)

Stormy Baretta: If I may ask what is the clear to Violet ratio for the lilac?

jessica scheffler: I LOVE THIS!

Cheyenne: Hey! Could you explain your rinsing process please and thank you!!!!<3

Tarahairmakeup: Rebecca ! ❤️ when you rinse you vivids and you have darker pieces and pastels how do you stop colors from smudging into each other ? Do you just rinse with cold water no shampoo and it's not a problem ??

Netta Bear: Hi Rebecca!!! Question: are all the colors in this video from the paravana line?

Brooke Moore: Holy crap that is AMAZING

Bianca Christensen: I want to know if the root color was an oxidative one and if so... did you melt the direct dye right into it?

Adrienne de la cruz: Perfection!

Ted Deh: How do you keep the hair healthy when you do this? I am passionate of hair coloring too, not on a fancy wannabe hairstylist way, but on making my own hair all colored way. And after years of dying and bleaching my hair is damaged really bad. Please help?

sexyysweetLove: Omg I love it and I want it too

Gabster: Going to Pensacola in August and would love to have some awesome bright colors in my hair, but I have psoriasis and its embarrassing, so I'm usually doing my own hair : (

dogma xaca: More videos please!!

Afrolicious2284: This is so DOPE!!!!!!!!

Tobias Balk: You said that you mixed the violet dye with developer. Violet is usually a vegetable based hair dye, can you mix vegetable based dyes with peroxide to lift at the same time?

Janae Miller: Another hit! <3

elayne deljesus: Nice...what company did u use for the colors?

dogma xaca: You are inspiration

W31rd.c0r3.k1d: I wish I could do this to my hair but my job won't let me. I do want to put some purple on my hair that that I can hitlde at work but I'm not sure if it will work.... I have all the supplies I need but I'm not sure how I'm going to do it. Any advice you could give, Rebecca, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steph
