Hi, I'm Ashley Diana and I am a great Lynx certified hair extension specialist. Today we are talking about how to brush your great Lynx hair extensions, because this is basically the number one most important thing once you have your hair extensions applied. I have clients that say I don't want to brush my hair that much because I feel like it's gon na pull the bonds out, and I do understand that, especially if you're new to hair extensions or new to gray aliens when you first have them applied the Last thing you want to do would feel like you're, ripping them out which, by the way, you're not doing when you brush your extensions but brushing your extensions. Actually is the number one thing to help prevent tangles and matting up at the scalp and the bonds. You should have a great length, hair extension brush once you get your hair extensions applied. Now I give one of these to all of my new clients with their first set of extensions, because I like them to have all to get stuff, but anyway, what you need to do is we want you to brush your hair three times a day. I know that sounds like a lot but brush it once in the morning, keep the brush with you brush it during the afternoon and brush in the evening right before you go to bed. So it's not that hard. The reason we want you to brush your hair every single day is because when you have a full head application of great links, hair extensions - basically a third of your hair - is attached in a bond. Now, naturally, what happens? We lose a hundred to 150 hairs. Every single day, no matter what and again that's the average, but what happens when your hair, a third of your hair, is in the little bonds, you're still losing those hairs naturally, but they can't fall out. They don't have anywhere to go. So if this is the bond you're losing hairs, they're falling out, if they're just hanging out there, they don't have anywhere to go they're gon na grab on to the neighbour and attach onto it. But we want to stop that by brushing the bond when you brush the bond, those hairs that are sticking out, they fall down and they don't get attached to any other hair in any other bonds. What you want to make sure you do because, eight nine years ago my first Great Lengths client, I told her brush her hair once a day, and that's all that I said I didn't actually show her what to do when she came back in. I was like: what did you do you didn't brush her hair cuz? She had all these tangles and mats in her hair and she was like. I don't know why I brush it once today and I was like show me how you brush your hair and she's. Like why I did it like this, I brush it every single day and I was like oh for God's sake. Of course, that's why you have to get the bristles see the bristles at your scalp. I want you to feel it go all the way down back at your head, feel it and you want to hear it. You want to hear it brush through the bonds, because what it does it, it's brushing those little hairs down, so they're not getting attached on to anything now. These do have really long bristles and that's because we want to get down to the scalp and keep everything detangled. But if you have really thick hair, if you have tons of hair extensions in tons and tons of tons of rows, nape all the way up to the crown of your head and especially if you have naturally curly hair. Even if you wear your hair straight, if your hair grows out and actually curly any of those reasons, you're gon na need to separate your hair into sections. Because again, what I've seen? Because I've been doing the great length so long is that even when I tell people - oh just brush it here, brush it and get down to the scalp they try to, but they actually miss like this back part of their head. So you really need to section off kind of think of it row by row. You want to brush row by row from the nape all the way to the top so separate. The nape hold the hair up brush down at the scalp separate this mid section of your hair brush down at the scalp, and I'm just showing you quickly. But I really want you to brush all the way down scout brush all the way down, but section your hair and then, when you get to the top, let it all down and then brush again brush really really well and keep this brush with you all. The time we also have travel sizes, so if you a little one to keep in here a little mini purse when you go out, do it too? I can't stress to you enough that brush brush brush brush and it's not gon na make your hair extensions come out. It will actually make you be able to wear your hair extensions longer, keep your hair healthier and that way, the next time you want to have the extensions removed and apply it again. Your hair is healthy and beautiful and strong enough to keep applying more extensions too. So don't be scared of the brush, make sure you have it make sure educated you're watching this. So you're researching, you know you're doing the right thing, but brush every single day three times a day to keep your hair healthy and detangled and shiny and happy. Michelle LiTrenta: hey Ashley! Thanks for the video. I got great lengths extensions literally 2 days ago and I’m nervous about brushing them. I was told to hold the hair and brush bottom to top, and I am not sure how much pressure to use on the bonds and how high up the scalp I can brush. I would love some more advice
