Hello, so today I'm going to be showing you how I wash and style my micro links. If you don't know what micro links are, I have a video explaining what they are and I will link that down below and I bet you any question you might have. Maybe answered in that video, so my hair is pretty dirty and this is actually my third install. So this is my third time getting my growing, so I really really like them. I am 12 weeks post relaxer and I have two bundles in my hair, 118 inch and 120 inch to start off. I'M going to be using this shampoo by Shea Moisture. You don't have to use a certain type of shampoo just use. Whatever shampoo, you would normally use on your real hair and I'm taking a generous amount and I'm starting at the front of my hair of my edges and I'm gon na be working in the back of my hair. Now I'm gon na kind of slide that all over my hair - and I watch also know that I am NOT scratching my hair, I'm using my fingertips and I will demonstrate that in a few. But you just want to work your fingertips along the micro links. Now, if you don't have micro links, this may be kind of confusing, but trust me. It makes perfect sense when you get in the shower. It'S really not that hard. So that is the fingertip method that I was just talking about. You'Re going to be using your fingertips to really work the shampoo in there I'm doing a second round of shampooing, and I am just going in and cleaning my hair, I'm also nobody's hairstylist or expert. Your stylists may recommend that you come to them to get it done. I just work under the belief that there's no point of getting a style. If you can't maintain it yourself, not trying to stop nobody's bag or stop nobody's hustle, but I feel like, if you can do it at home, like do it at home also, I did not film how I conditioned my hair because one, it would have been repetitive, But two I've rinsed my hair jet-black off-camera, and if you want to see how I do that, then I will link that up atop and down below but yeah. My hair is conditioned so now I'm just gon na brush through my hair and I'm going to be adding some heat protectant again, you can use whatever heat protectant. You want I'm just using this one from karekare, because that's what I had on hand and you're gon na put that all through your hair. Now I like to air dry, my hair, but for the sake of this video, I want to show you how you could blow-dry your hair, but it is very time consuming and honestly, I just don't have the patience for it, even though it is faster than air Drying your hair - I just prefer to air dry, my hair, but I did want to show that you can blow-dry your hair. Then she won't pull out any of the links. Of course, don't be rough with it, but you know no one has time for that. I'M just gon na air dry. Oh now, my hair is completely air, dried and now it's time for the fun part. So now I'm going to be sectioning my hair. Now I'm taking my linked hair or the track, and I'm taking my real hair right above the track. That'S how I section it now that doesn't make sense. Don'T worry, you'll see again also, I already straightened my kitchen in the back already did that off-camera, because it wasn't really relevant to what we are discussing right now. So yes, you're going to take your real hair and the tracked hair and you are just gon na go straight in it. Just like you would your regular hair. It is going to be a little bit more difficult because there is links, but like honestly guys, it's really not that hard. You learned how to move around them. The most important part when I straighten my hair is again taking my hair taking the track and then taking my real hair right above it. That'S just gon na help. You get it as flat as possible and, as you can see, I just quickly finish this first row and you can see it's very flat and seamless. So again, I'm going to be sectioning, my hair, I am taking the track and then I'm taking the hair right above it now, if you do not have micro links like this, if your micro links are different, I cannot speak for how you would straighten it. This just works for the way that I had my curling's. So if you do not have micro links like that, definitely talk to your hairdresser about how you would go about straightening, your hair. So, as you can see, it's nice and flat and yeah you're, just gon na keep going up through your hair, just like that and when you get to the front, it's pretty much the same thing and it's almost like straightening your real hair. It'S very, very, very simple. My friend who does not know how to do here at all is able to do this herself. So it's really really simple guys. So I finished draining my hair and now I am going to go through and curl the weave. I'M not really curling. My real hair and Aliyah has a detailed video on this method, but I'm just wrapping my hair around the straightener and I am facing the straightener. I'M curling it away from my face on one side. So the way I do my hair is very different on one side I curl it away from my face and on the other side I curl it towards my face. That just gives the look I want now, as you can see right now. I'M curling it towards my face and I don't know why it works like that. I just like the way the curls look when I do it like that. But Maliha has a detailed video on how to achieve these curls with a straightener, and this is pretty much just what I go throughout my hair and do and I'm really only crying the weave, I'm not curling. My real hair, I mean I'm sure my real hair gets in there somewhere, but for the most part, it's believe so guys that is pretty much it. This is the final look. I hope that this helped I try to cover as much as I could in a concise and watchable video. So if you do have any questions feel free to leave them down below in the comments, and let me know what other videos you would like to see.

EbonyLynette: Watching your videos made me take the plunge to go for this install. I’m INCREDIBLY pleased withy decision! I actually did thorough research and completed the install myself . It’s very clean and looks so natural! Thank you!!!

Dejah's Diary: I’ve been debating on getting micro links for a while. Home maintenance seems so easy and worth the investment

Cherie W.: I’ve been thinking, debating and thinking!!! So I love how you can get to the scalp and just the general natural look. I was always stuck on the “so how do you wash your hair!!”. Get video ... I’m going to look into it!! Nice to see you doing hair videos again too

K. K: I loved the air dryed look I would of been done then, but it came out beautiful in the end.

Mitchie Mar: I just had my micro link hair extension yesterday and this is very informative and has inspired me that maintenance isn't that hard! Thanks for sharing!

Mary J Flanagan: This is an excellent video! I'm working on doing my hair in microlinks. Right now, I'm looking at how to maintain it. My hair is 8 and 12" long kinky straight. I want a bob with smaller curls like that in my hair or twist it braid outs. I washed and styled a patch with my regular products and am letting it dry overnight to see how it comes out. Then, after taking it down, I'm going to curl it to see how that comes out with various hot tools. I hope I can make those flippy curls. Thanks so much for sharing!

Whitnye Alexandra: Finally, someone with relaxed hair who has microlinks. Thanks for making this video sis

Slim Kim: Yess your making me want to get micro links. And we need a skincare routine

Beth Black: Girls to answer alot of these questions its like a sew in or locks as far as wash and care goes...if you have natural hair it dosnt need to be relaxed in fact you can get "kinky" and " natural curls" as a hair option to match your natural hair but i will say if you want strait hair if you dont relax really curly hair the maintinace level would be insane these tangle easy especially if you fight your natural hair. If you want eaisier maintenance pick a color and texture close to your hairs natural state.
