Microlinks -Your Questions Answered |Metowimethod

Hey everybody: what's going on, this is chrissy woods. I am so happy to be filming this video. I am um, i'm i'm just ready to spill the tea on these micro links. Y'All y'all know i have been going michael and crazy. I am really a huge advocate for them. As you see, i wear them, they are fabulous and i do feel like micro links, answers um or solves the problem that many of us have so, let's get into it. So guys welcome. Welcome! Welcome back to my channel. If you're watching this on youtube, if you're watching this on facebook, wherever you are watching this welcome, welcome welcome for those that don't know me, my name is chrissy woods. I am a registered nurse as well as a licensed cosmetologist right now. I am primarily working as a cosmetologist by choice um, but i do use my uh level of nursing to help treat um issues with the scalp and also with people who are having issues with their hair, not growing or breakage. So i'm able to pull that knowledge from my nursing career over into the beauty profession all right. So today's video we are going to talk about microlinks. Now you may see me look down a little bit because i got my notes here. I asked you guys to give me a list of questions that you have and i wrote those questions down and i'm just going to kind of go through this list and answer these questions, but i'm going to try to keep this video kind of concise. So i don't bore you, but at the same time, give you as much information as possible. Okay. So let's jump right into the question microlinks. What are they? Microlinks are the most versatile installation that you will receive um. It is an install. It reminds you of a sew-in. However, there is no braids, there is no thread. There are two types of microlinks. You have the eye tip micro link insulation, as well as the micro wefting. I personally do the micro wefting. I feel like it's safer for the hair. I feel like it gives you way less opportunity for breakage and um. It'S just very versatile. I think most people really like that method and that's the method i was personally trained on by me toy and she's in atlanta. If you guys can look her up on instagram she's certified and she came up with her own method for this type of installation, and i was personally trained by her. So that's the method that i use. It'S called the mitowin method. Okay, so you can look that up if you need more information about it so who can get micro links, natural or relaxed clients both can get micro links um with my relaxed clients, i do ask that you wait about two to three weeks after a fresh relaxer, Because we definitely don't want to put any type of tension or anything to the hair, just like we would with the sew in or braids after a fresh relaxer. We want a little bit of new growth there to give it. You know some some extra hold without causing any breakage, but as far as my natural clients, you can get it as well um, through the method that i use. We match your hair texture, so it doesn't matter if you have a kinky, curly hair or if you have a loose hair or if you have straight hair, i can match all textures. I have an amazing vendor and the hair that i use is specific for micro links. Okay, so this hair will definitely match your texture. People say well what, if i'm natural and my hair gets wet. That'S fine! We'Re going to match your texture. So if your hair gets wet guess what the hair that i use is going to do what your hair does, because it matches your texture now some of you may come to me, which they have i've had a lot of folks come to me and they'll say: Well, christy, i don't want to wear my hair curly at all. I want it straight at all times like me, i'm 100 natural, but i am what they call a straight natural. I primarily wear my hair. Well, i haven't. This is the first time that i've straightened. My hair, but now i am primarily wearing my hair straight, so i'm considered a straight natural because i don't wear it in its curly state. So to solve that i have a smoothing system in my hair. So, as you can see, my hair is always flat like i and i don't have to flat on it every day i maybe flat on it once a week if that with the smoothness system and because it's getting a lot cooler, i don't get the reversion. My hair doesn't puff up. It doesn't do any of that now, when i shampoo it, that's a different story: okay, but that's what we want. We want our hair to go back to its natural state when we want it to so. The option for my naturals is always to get a smoothing system, along with your micro links. Okay, next question: how long do they last? This is a 12 week cycle. Okay, we will put these in you'll, come back in two to three weeks and get your shampoo and your maintenance maintenance could be if you have any loose areas that i need to tighten up um or if um yeah pretty much. That'S really all your maintenance. The rest is just shampooing conditioning and treating the hair making sure the hair is nice and clean and making sure your hair is responding well to the micro leaks. So you'll do that every two to three weeks and then after the 12 week cycle, we will do what we call an extraction when we remove the micro links and if you want to reinstall it, you can reinstall it. So it's something it's up to you, but it is a 12 week cycle. So after the 12 weeks, we do need to remove the micro links and install them again. Next question: is this a protective style? No, it's not considered a protective style because all of your hair is out like all of my hair is left out right now i don't have anything braided up, nothing's tied up. All of my hair is in in here somewhere it's mixed within okay, so because of that, it's not considered a protective style. Okay, next question: what is the maintenance? We'Ve already discussed that every two to three weeks you would come in and you would get your maintenance appointments. You could get your shampoo and styles and if you need any maintenance, we would do it at that time. Um training required. Now. I have had some issues with clients: um, not my clients, but new clients where they have gone to someone got into microlinks is not what they expected and it's just been a mess. The best thing i can tell you guys is go to someone that you know has been specifically trained on microlinks. Can we watch youtube and figure it out yeah, but guess what youtube isn't telling you everything? It'S not telling you about the placement, it's not telling you! How to determine if your client is even a candidate for microlinks, it's not telling you how to protect the hair and keep the hair healthy. It'S not telling you any of that stuff, and that to me is the most important part about microlinks. It'S not just the look. Anybody can execute the look, but what's going to happen to your hair after this has been extracted and taken out, that's the most important part. So i definitely encourage you make sure that your stylist is a licensed also make sure they have been specifically trained and certified in the area of microlinks. Okay, that's super important. As far as me, you can always go to me. Toei. You can go to her page. You can ask her: did she train me? You can ask her, who is uh trained in south carolina by her? It'S only a few of us um and in colombia is really even a smaller amount. I think it's maybe two of us, so you know just ask her. She will verify and confirm that we were trained. You can go to my page. You can see pictures of me with her. You can see pictures of me in class. I got the receipt sis i'm trained by her, but if you don't go to me just make sure there is someone that you've gone to that has been specifically trained in the area. All right, you're matching super important, but again that is for someone who's been trained. So i'm not even gon na go into details on that because that's part of the training but just know that's a skill as well: okay, okay, so how long does it take? So i can't really go into details on that, because i don't want to tell the process of how i do the microlinks, but i can tell you that it takes about two and a half to three hours. Okay, so just kind of prepare yourself for two and a half to three hours. Now the consultation kind of always throws people they're like well dang, that's a whole service. Yes, the consultation is an entire service. We'Re not just gon na sit down and talk, i'm not just gon na look at your hair and tell you no i'm gon na shampoo and i'm gon na style, your hair. Okay, because i need to see what your hair looks like in all conditions, all conditions, wet, dry, blow-dry, blown dry, everything. I need to see your hair in all conditions, and there are other little things that we'll discuss during the consultation that can help you and to help me determine if you're a candidate for microlynx. But the good thing about it is if you're, not a candidate for microlinks at least you're, leaving with your hair nicely styled. Okay and you kind of know where to go as far as getting your hair on the right track. If it's unhealthy, um will at least put you on a regimen to get you to the point where you can get microlinks so you're, not just losing out on money, you're actually still doing what you need to do for your hair. Okay, the ultimate question: the cost: what is the cost so microlinks? So they start at about 500 right, but this includes the cost of the hair. Okay, they do start at 500. This is the introductory rate. Um. This rate will be through december as of january. It will definitely go up to the required or the norm or um the more competitive rate. Um it'll go up in january, so from now until the end of the year, i'm going to keep my rates the same, but i can tell you that they start at 500. Most people will leave paying about 650, because they're gon na need the smoothing system and then the four the five hundred dollars is only for a certain length of hair, which is about 14 inches. I am currently wearing 20 inches, so most people, if you know you, want longer lengths, it's going to cost a little bit more, but the investment y'all for the look, the way that you save time, um, just the overall versatility of it. To me, it's a no-brainer when you look at assault the cost of a sew-in. By the time you buy three bottles and a closure plus pay for the installation. It'S really about the same, but you don't nearly have the versatility that i have. You know like look seriously, you can do now, my hair, i wear this middle part forever, but you can really flip this hair any kind of way. Y'All already know we can do the ponytail situation, which is so super cute. I can do my bun if i want to wear my bun. I mean it's just super super super versatile, but my favorite, i'd have to say is probably the half up half down. I really truly love this. The half of half down situation is so super cute. So anyway, the versatility of micro links is just unmatched. It'S absolutely unmatched um. It'S even got me to wear a middle part. Y'All know i've, never really worn a middle part, but i just really - i don't know i'm starting to really like the middle part. I'M always a side part girl, but anyway this is pretty much all the questions that i've received so far. If you have any more questions, let me know guys i will be more than willing um to answer the questions. I am truly enjoying doing these, i'm enjoying the transformations and some great reviews on microlinks. So if there's something that you're interested in, i will leave a link down below so that you can get your consultation and at least just see if you're a candidate for it. Okay y'all know um, the cooler months are coming up. It'S about to be lit, you want to be cute, i know we got corona, but hey. Our hair can still be cute right, so just consider microlinks um if you're at that point like where i was where you're kind of tired of wigs, but you don't feel like doing the whole sewing thing again. You want the versatility microlynx. Is that bridge to me. It bridges that gap it gives you that um it gives you that ease of just having your hair out your hair can breathe. You know you're, not under a wig all the time you don't have the tightness of a sew-in. So it's just that bridge um. It bridges that gap between the wigs and the sew-in, so if you're, wig, wear or weave wear like me, this truly is a great option that i think you all should try. So i hope i answered all of your questions. If you haven't already subscribed to my youtube channel, make sure that you subscribe to it, i will be filming on a regular.
