Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel, it's your girl, shan and today, i'm showing you how i turned my natural black slash, dark brown hair into blonde in one day with no breakage and no damage. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. I always get blonde braids and i feel like they look so good on me and i wanted to be blonde. So this is the process i went to a professional, even though i love doing hair myself. I just was really scared that i would damage my hair. So i went to a salon to get this professionally done, so the salon gave me the color book that you can see here and i was trying to pick out the color that i wanted. I wanted it to be an ash blonde. I didn't want it to be yellow, i just told him i do not want it to be yellow, i want it to be ashy to be, you know, muted, almost not bright. I don't want neon hair and i really really emphasize that - and i was very you know, vocal, because this was a very, very big change to my hair. So i wanted it to be exactly how i wanted it to be so here you can see they began. Applying the bleach to my hair, this was a two-person job because they wanted to do this as quickly as possible, so it was the stylist and his assistant and they just went through with some bleach. I don't i didn't ask about the developer level or the specific bleach that they used, but this was just the first lightning process. Oh baby, i'm satisfied. I'Ve also left this footage in because it was kind of cool to see my hair gradually lighten in this time lapse. So i'm just gon na leave that for you guys to enjoy. Oh, after a few minutes, the stylist went ahead to put my hair under a plastic cap just that it can develop a bit faster using the natural heat of my body. This is how my hair was looking after a couple of minutes. I was freaking out because my hair was literally yellow. I was shook, and here he is now transferring the bleach onto my scalp and the hair closest to my scalp, so that can fully develop as well. Yes, once the hair closest to my scalp had lightened to what was satisfactory, we went ahead to rinse it out. I did want my roots to be slightly darker, just so it's more of an ombre effect when they add the color, and here he is just rinsing. It out he was assuring me the whole time that my hair was good. There was no breakage, because i was really scared that my hair would break off. I'Ve watched too many brad bondo bleaching fail videos um, but he was assuring me that my hair was healthy and it was taking to the bleach very well. He then went on to shampoo my hair with this purple shampoo, and here my hair is after the wash at this point. They have started to add the actual color to my hair, and this was actually one of two color processes that we had to do this. First one here it wasn't darkening as much as i as the stylist would have liked, and i would have liked as well, because i had a specific color in mind, but this is just the clips of him applying the first color. Oh me once we realized that the first color was not darkening enough. I had to rinse that color out and go in with the color again, but he ended up using some sort of darkening agent that he mixed into the color just so that the color would take more. As you can see here, the color had definitely darkened significantly um. I was worried that it was going to be too dark, but i trusted the process because you know bleached hair. It looks different when it's wet and when it's dry, so i just i trusted the stylist at this point. This is how my hair was looking after they rinsed it out definitely looks lighter now that it's not soaking wet in this clip. Specifically, he is adding a protein treatment to my hair standard when you're going to straighten your hair at the salon. They give you a protein and a moisture treatment. So here he's just applying the protein treatment to my hair. Oh baby, i'm satisfied after the protein treatment. I got a moisture treatment under the humidifier, for i believe 15-20 minutes, and it was quite good. My hair was looking healthy at this point. The curls were still intact and this was my hair after the protein treatment, and it was already combed out at this point. This is how the color was looking. I was definitely happy with it. I will show you guys the inspo of the color that i actually wanted on my hair, but here he is now blow drying. My hair, the first blow dry process um. Another thing that i really feared when doing my hair at the salon is that i would get heat damage, because my hair is very sensitive to heat um, but he did use um a lot of heat protectant and here he is doing the first blow dry. My hair looks good. My ends are a different story. After the regular blow dry, he went in with the blow dry brush just to straighten it a bit more. As you can see here, i'm loving the color. I did not want neon yellow. I wanted something like a super light brown ashy blonde type of thing, and i believe that what was achieved here i was really happy with my hair. Also. He was telling me that my hair still felt super strong and there was no breakage at this point at all. So after the blow dry process, the stylist went ahead to lightly trim throughout my hair. He didn't get all the split ends, but i also think he didn't want to overstep and cut too much, especially since i didn't come here specifically for a trim. So this is just like complimentary with the straightening process and i still appreciated that he did that after trimming he went ahead to add a bit more heat protectant, some heat protectant oil thing from l'oreal um, and then he started flat. Ironing my hair flat iron is normally where i get a bit anxious, because that's why i've gotten heat damage before, but these guys use a steam flat iron like the l'oreal steam pod. I believe that's what it's called and because it's steam, it's not direct heat on your hair, so it's way less likely to get heat damaged. So that made me oh, that made me feel okay about it as well. So i had specifically told the stylist that i just wanted straight. I didn't want any bump. I didn't want any style on my hair. I just wanted it to be completely straight, because i wanted to style it by myself. If you guys don't know, i'm a complete control freak when it comes to my hair, i feel like i know, what's best all the time, and especially when it comes to styling, i like to do it myself, so i just told him i wanted it as straight. You know just flat ironed and super straight, and this is how i was looking. I was so happy with the result. It was the exact shade of blonde that i wanted and my hair didn't break off. My hair felt super good and super soft. It was giving barbie things it was giving i'm a barbie girl in a barbie world like i really liked my hand how it looked, especially with my pink shirt i felt so cute um, so once he had straightened it and i left the salon. I did end up styling it um myself. I will insert pictures at the end of this video of how my hair looked after. Like a few days, it was getting a bit frizzy, but still straight and really cute, and then also how i styled it. When i was going to take pictures in my next video, i will be washing my hair to see if i get if my hair reverts back fingers crossed, and i will also be showing you guys how i style my hair in its curly state. Kim Williams: If you are looking for a good deep conditioner, reach for Carol's Daughter brand. In one month I relaxed my hair 2 times, and bleached it 2 times (long story of mislabeling of hair dye brand ) the deep conditioner took my hair from brillo to hair again and stopped the breaking.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with flat iron. Just saying that a steam iron is also direct heat and I find them way less effective than regular flat irons. Otherwise, your hair looks great!
