Hey welcome back to my channel it's eric today. I am going to be doing a big shop update. I did a big chop seven months ago and it's just been time it just literally flew by. I didn't even realize it's been seven months, but i did want to come on and show you guys how much my hair has grown. What i've noticed the changes if my curl pattern's different you know stuff like that so yeah, i'm gon na show you guys my hair wet in the next clip and then i will jump back on and explain some stuff. So this is my hair. Seven months after i have cut it, i'm leaving it wet. So i can just show you guys, like a lint check, it's about the top of my boob um. I cut it to about right here wet. This is how long it is in the bag. I don't know if it's uneven or not, but yeah um, all right, so pretty much as you guys can see. My hair is about down to my upper boob when i stretch it out and when it's, i guess you could say straightened um but, as you can see my hair shoulder length now when um, it's curly um. When i first cut my hair, my hair was about to right here curly. It was super short like very very short, so my hair is definitely grown about four or five inches um and i'm just going to kind of go through what i've done personally to help. My hair grow besides, genetics um, i am black and white, so my genetics do kind of play a role in how fast my hair grows, um, but other than that, i definitely would say not washing your hair. A lot is a big big factor that a lot of people might not do um. I wash my hair once a week yeah and if i like, use like heavy gels or like eco styling spray and stuff like that, then yeah i'll wash it as needed. But i don't wash my hair like every day. I definitely keep braid downs on that's another thing. I keep my hair in protective styles um. If i have a wig on my hair is braided and oiled. I always oil, my hair, when it's braided and put under wig caps and stuff um. When i have braids in i leave them in, and i don't wash my hair while i have braids in. I know you're probably like what, unless i get in a pool or get some mud in my hair, i do not wash my hair just because i only leave braids in my hair for about two to three weeks. As you guys can see. My hair texture is not like super kinky and it's not like straight it's like 4b. I really don't know what type of texture hair i have, which is so weird, i'm gon na definitely have to like figure that out, i would definitely say washing. Hair is a big factor. Your hair needs those oils, especially when you have curly hair. You definitely need to let the oils in your hair produce so that your hair can grow. Number three is jamaican: castor oil game, changer game changer. If you do not own jamaican, castor oil get it, i promise you, you will see a difference in your hair and your hair growth. Any time i have braids in my hair, i always put jamaican castor oil in my hair because it dramatically changes my hair. My hair, definitely grew a lot just from using jamaican, castor oil. My hair is fuller. It'S softer like it's amazing. I even use it in my dad's hair. I use it in my sister's hair 10 out of 10 recommend it's not like a fib. It'S not a fairy tale or myth jamaican, castor oil really does work. I need a lot like i just put it on my scalp and stuff like that and boom perfect okay keeping heat away from my hair. I don't use heat in my hair. If i want my hair straight, i go get a wig, i mean i did put a little heat in my hair about a month ago, when i did a quick weave. I just wanted the hair, like i just comb, my hair and just wanted it. I didn't straighten it or anything like that. I literally just wanted it and it went perfectly with the texture of the hair. I do keep heat away from my hair. I don't put heat in my hair just because i, like my curl pattern like right now. My hair's just a little loose because one i didn't diffuse it. I kind of just blew blue dry it on cool from a distance, but diffusing definitely is recommended. If you have curly hair and you want to, you know, define your curls and stuff like that. Don'T use heat on your hair, it's not worth it, ladies, not worth it just a lot of methods, and if you do put heat on your hair, just go to somebody professional. You know let them like still press your hair. Somebody who has experience because a lot of stylists will burn your hair, seen a lot of story times of girls who went to go, get their hair straightened and boom their hair's ruined because they went to people unexperienced, and it's just not worth. I also had somebody when i was younger, who was straight. My hair and my like hair was very damaged, but at the time i was young, so i didn't notice that my hair was damaged, but now that i'm older, i definitely noticed that my hair was damaged. So big big tip is, if you want to get your hair styled go to a professional. I haven't really dyed my hair as much as i did last year. I'Ve only dyed it once because, when i cut my hair, my hair was like all different shades of brown from dyeing hair and not going professionally. So i literally took the time me and my sister, we went part by part and dyed my hair back black um, and then i kept my like stripe on the side that was it um. I haven't dyed it since that was like three months ago and i definitely can say black hair dye makes my hair. Like i don't know it feels a lot softer um. So yeah, that's another thing. I haven't really dyed my hair. Another thing i could say that helped grow. My hair is frequently trimming it. I trim my own hair just because i cut my hair, so it's kind of like i give it. I do trim my hair frequently most of the time if i'm like about to do a braid down or if i put like box braids on my hair or something i'll trim the ends you know get any like split ends. I have so that when they're in the protective style you know it gives my hair time to grow and it's just needed. Um frequent trims are always needed, so make sure you get those but other than that. A big factor in my hair growth is my genetics. That'S why, when i cut my hair i was like, i know it's going to grow back super quick. A lot of people were like, oh my god, no why'd, you cut your hair, but y'all. My hair grew back in no time as you guys can see. Um and i still love my hair - i've also been embracing my natural hair a little bit more and i don't know. Maybe it's just me, but i think the sun is a big factor in skin. Looking nice and your hair, the vitamin c is just needed. So, yes, i spend time in the sun as well um i just like to be outside so yeah. I feel like. That is a reason why my hair's grown as well, but yeah um. This is how my hair looks dry. This is how the length looks in the back um i'm in love. Like i love my hair, i just don't have the patience like i used to to actually sit down and just do my hair and like blow dry it i mean it takes way less time than me installing a wig, but i don't know it's just too hot For my natural hair, but i am about to go, take some pictures and i wanted to take them in my natural hair, so yeah. I just wanted to come on and pretty much update. You guys, on my big chop, a couple tips that i have and how i grew my hair. I didn't want to make this video too long, but yeah, if you guys have any questions, make sure you leave them down below give this video a like and subscribe. If you enjoyed this video, i will definitely be making more hair videos. I have so many in store for you guys. I'Ve already been plotting and planning and yeah stay tuned for my next video and see you guys,
