What'S good guys ida and welcome back to my channel if you're new here please subscribe and make sure you turn that notification bell, so you can be notified every time i post, as you guys know, i mean if you're not new here but, as you guys may Know i do a lot of how to cornrow dot dot videos and looking at the comment, sections there's a few questions that jump out and are said a few quite a few times um. I just uploaded a video addressing one of them, and that is how much hair to pick up whenever you're doing a cornrow. And the other question is: how do i make my cornrows tight and not loose and not messy and stick to my scalp and not be flowing in the air um? So i'm gon na address that question today. I think loose and messy cornrows are down to. Oh. I was gon na say two things, but not thinking of it. I will say four four different aspects, number one is making sure that your hair is detangled. I always say this at the start - use a wide tooth comb. If you have to blow dry your hair blow dry your hair, but make sure your hair is nice and detangled. You do not want to be getting your fingers stuck mid cornrow. It is not fun. Okay, so number one making sure your hair is detangled number two making sure that your parts are nice and neat and straight and clean and not fuzzy and just nice parts. If you need help with that, i have a whole tutorial on that. So i will link that up on. I think this side, and also in the description box, so make sure you check that out. Number three is something that i just mentioned, and that is making sure that you pick up the right amount of hair. Just did a tutorial on that, but i will tell you again here: you do not want to be picking up too much hair. You do not want your fingers to be traveling too far. When you are trying to do your cornrows, you want to keep them all. As close together as you can, when you're doing your pick up, if it's with your middle finger, like i've, taught you you're just going to want to stay close by, if it's with your index finger, i'm trying to imagine it with my little, you want to stay As close by, as you can number four is keeping your fingers as close to your scalp, literally touching your scalp, the entire time. I didn't want to see fingers up in the air, not one centimeter up there. I want to see them touching your scalp or the person's scalp that you're doing the entire time. So keeping that in mind, i'm just going to show you exactly what i mean step, one making sure your hair is tangled my hair's detangled, but i am just going to quickly go through it again for you using a white tooth comb, okay, nice and detangled. Now making sure your parts are neat, i could use a wide tooth comb or i could use a rat's tail comb there. It is i'm looking for a rat tail comb to part my hair. You want to make sure your parts are as neat as possible. I mean take your time with them and, like i said, having a tangled hair is going to make this so much easier, make sure all your hair is out of the way you don't want to be picking up stray hairs if that means using hair clips or Combs to keep it out of the way, do what you got to do so, when you're picking up your hair, make sure that you are just literally grabbing the hair. That is right by you, as you are moving upwards, with this cornrow as you're moving further down. Now the next point is making sure that your hands are right by your scalp. Literally, can you see? Can you see they haven't moved from my scalp make sure that they are as close as possible? Now this is what my corners would look like if my hands weren't touching my scalp, if i'm further up there, they're not attached to my scalp they're, actually floating mid-air. If that's the look of going for honey, then do you. But this is not the look that we are going for here. As you can see here, nice and tight, i can't get a finger underneath there, nice and tight here, whoa child. I can even start okay, maybe cuz. It finished the whole plating, but my whole finger can go underneath it. I think the biggest thing is making sure that your scalp and your hands are connected at all times. Apart from when you're like trying to detangle your hair mid-plat or if you're resting your arms, because your arms get tired, but when you're actually doing the cornrow hands touch the scalp. Otherwise they will not be connected. Also making sure that you're not picking up too much hair, i'm just going to insert a clip of exactly how that would look so make sure that you follow in those four steps. Detangled, your parting is nice and clean you're, not picking up too much hair and your fingers are wet on your scalp. Hopefully, that's helped you out and solved a problem that you may have had. Let me know what you think in the comment section down below and i will see you guys next time: peace, love and life.
