Hey guys welcome to the channel. For today's video, I'm gon na be trying out some heatless curling techniques for you guys.. Now, I'm all about giving my hair a rest from styling tools.. I use them way too often, so I thought I'd. Try some new techniques and share them with you: guys., I'm completely new to these curling techniques. So I'm trying them on camera and we'll see the outcome together. So basically like a heatless, curls tested and a video for you guys. So let's get straight into it.. So in most heatless curling videos, I've seen on YouTube, they use water to dampen the hair. So I've got a spray bottle filled with water here, but I thought I'd: try it water and without and see what the best technique was. So, on this side, I'm gon na be dampening the hair and on this time I'm just leaving it dry. The first heatless technique. I'M using are foam rollers.. Now, I'm actually no stranger to these.. I used to use these all time when I was younger.. In fact, I remember using these once and I had hair - probably a little bit shorter than what it is now and I put foam curlers in I woke up in the morning and I had a bob.. I was like Shirley Temple., So I have faith in these.. So I'm just gon na dampen the hair. Then I'm gon na put the roller behind my hair and twist it around.. Now you do exactly the same thing on the other side, but I'm gon na leave this side dry.. Okay, first heatless curls are in.. The second technique, I'm using, is twisting my hair into mini buns.. Now I've seen a lot of videos on YouTube to get like that. Instagram body look doing this and the results I saw were really really good.. So I'm going to see if I'm can create the same thing., I'm just gon na dampen the hair again twist the hair around twist that into a bun., Then I'm just gon na tie that with a hair elastic. The next technique, I'm gon na use is using Foil - and this is one of the curling techniques that I thought, would you really go to that much trouble to curl your hair with foil, but I'm gon na give it a go.. I may eat my words., So I'm going to grab a piece of foil. Like that and I'm gon na fold that in half kind of make a U shape, like that., Grab a piece of hair and dampen it. And then from what I've seen on tutorials. I'Ve been watching you kind of do a figure eight with the hair around the foil., So let's see., Okay, I think I've got it.. I thought this was gon na, be more fiddly. And again same thing on the other side, but I'm gon na use dry. Hair.. Now that I've put my hair in this foil, I can see how that would give you a really nice curl, so fingers crossed that works and I eat my words.. The next technique is using socks.. Now this one seems a bit weird to me. Again. Would you really go to the trouble, but I can see how it would work with damp hair, because the socks would soak up the moisture? I guess, But I don't we'll give it a go.. I'M just gon na wrap the hair around the sock and tie the ends.. Oh, that was very simple.. Okay and same thing on the other. Side. Next technique is using bobby pins and then basically just using your fingers as a roller.. So I'm gon na take a section of hair dampen it usual drill., I'm guessing the size of the curl is determined by how many fingers you use. So I'm gon na use two and just wrap my hair around. Roll that towards my head and pin that in place. And the last technique I'm gon na try is using paper towels. Now. This is kind of a modern version of what people used to do years and years ago when they didn't have curling, tongs or rollers, or anything like that and they'd tie their hair up in rags and go to sleep.. So I have faith in this one. Again. I think this would work well with damp hair, because the paper towel would soak up the moisture.. So let's give it a go. Start at the bottom and then I'm going to twist it up. And then I'm just gon na tie the ends together.. I guess if the paper towel isn't big enough for you to tie, you can just tie it with a hair tie.. That'S in a nice little knot there.. I guess this is a good one as well, because if you're travelling - and so you forget your curling tongs or something like that, then you're always gon na find paper towels.. So this could potentially be a good one if you're in a sticky spot.. So all of my heatless curls are in and I'm looking a little bit crazy. Now most heatless curl tutorials on YouTube. I'Ve seen require the curls are left overnight. But, to be honest, I don't think I could sleep like this, so I'm gon na leave them for a good few hours and report back to you guys, then., I'm gon na take the curls out and we're gon na see what worked best. So guys. I'M back! It'S been about five hours and obviously this side is dry now.. This side hasn't changed because it wasn't wet to being with, but it's time for the big reveal. So let's see what curls turned out the best., So I'm gon na start off with the first curl. I put in with the foam rollers, and this is the side that was damp. Wow okay., That's quite a curl. Kind of an irregular curl. I guess, if you're going for a kind of vintage look, then this would be ideal.. It'S kind of like a finger wave like a 20s finger wave.. I think the only thing I would say is that it's taken a lot of length off, like my hair's, normally down here.. So that might be something to consider., And this is the side that didn't have water sprayed on it., So that one's a little bit looser.. But it's still that kind of vintage, curled look., So curl number two were the mini buns, so I'll just take those out.. This should give a really tight curl. Break it up a little bit. Ooh. I really like that. Curl. Ignore my own hair there. I think. That'S kind of the mark from the elastic, but apart from that, that looks like a really natural kind of beachy curl.. Let'S try the side that wasn't damp. I'd, say the side that didn't have water sprayed on it has turned out slightly better. I'M not sure why that is, but I guess it's one less step to do and yeah. I'M really pleased with that. One. Looks really natural, really bouncy. Next step. We have the foil curl. Wow that has turned out really well., So yeah, I'm eating my words on the whole foil thing. That looks really cool. Again, like kind of vintage finger wave look about it., I'm really impressed with that.. I guess if you did, that all over your hair you'd get a really really cool kind of finger wave effect.! Let'S try it on this side. Again, I think that's held up really well.. I think I prefer the curl that was damp to begin with. Thumbs up for that one. And next we have the socks. Start to untie.. So with this one we've got a bigger wave. I did accidentally leave out the end, so yeah, that's kind of I guess. If you wanted a kind of looser wave effect, the socks would work really well.. Let'S try it on this side.. So this side that doesn't have water, you get an even looser curl.. I think that's really really pretty. So thumbs up for the socks as well.. I think you don't really need the water with that. You just get a really really nice soft natural wave., And next we have the paper towels, which I'm assuming is gon na, give a similar effect to the socks., But we'll see.. Oh, maybe not got a really fancy curl with that one kind of like a ringlet. Yeah, quite a tight curl with that one. Try the other side.. So again, I think the water has made a big difference in that you get a tighter curl with the water and then more of a looser wave. If you leave out that step, see that kind of a bouncy voluminous curl. And the very last curl is the one that I rolled and pinned up with bobby pins.. I really really like that.. That'S a really structured, bouncy wave well wave when you brush it, out., Really really like that one. And try one without water., Okay, so that one didn't work.. If you're gon na use bobby pins, I recommend using the water ,'cause that just that hasn't worked., But at least we tried - and we know that if you're going to roll your hair up and bobby pin it for a curl, you need a little bit of water.. Okay, so still looking pretty crazy., I think my general consensus for these heatless curls is that it's knowing what's good for your hair type. So having a play around and seeing what works for you., I would say that the side that I've added water to has gone quite frizzy. So if your hair tends to be on the frizzier side, maybe avoid doing that. Maybe just put the heatless curls in without dampening the hair at all and just leave them a little bit longer, maybe pop some hairspray in there., I think, probably my favourite, the curls that I just bobby pinned up with water. So this one here. This one's held pretty well and then I like the socks as well. I think that's a really really good technique to use if you're kind of in a jam - and you haven't - got a styling tool. - Maybe just add some hairspray to kind of hold the curl a bit more because you can see I've brushed that out and it's pretty Much gone, but if you want just a more voluminous bouncy look, then that's a good one to go for.. I think curling techniques that I wouldn't use again is the bobby pin technique without any water, because, as you can see, that's just completely straight now.. Also twisting my hair into little buns., It did leave a kink in my hair, as you can see, but I'm pretty sure if you played around and used maybe really tiny, scrunchies or invisi-bobbles or something like that it could work. So yeah. This is the final outcome. Guys., I really really hope you enjoyed this video and I hope you have a go at some of these heatless curling techniques.. Let me know in the comments below what your favourite technique was and if you have any new ones for me, then pop those in the comments as well. ,'Cause I'd love to try some more. BelleFlipz: I know this is really late, but this is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much!

Jan Prudente: Wow your hair is so thick and glossy!

j: I think the way you put the curl in ruins them, you wrap them kinda on top of the rolled hair. I would do it more in a spiral I guess? Like each “roll” of the piece of hair next to the previous “roll” that’s how I do it. Kind of how you wrap it on a curling iron. Awesome video though

Kate Lewis: This video was so fcking helpful, thank you lovely

Martina Ina: Very useful video

G L: Ummmmmm you probably should have used smaller sections
