One Last Rodeo With This Hair | Chop Chop

i got my hair done yesterday and i LOVE ITTTT, cant wait for y'all to see!

There'S only one there's only one: it's only one, just only one just loving happiness, hey guys, it's Jess welcome back to my channel guess what we're doing today. I have a video, I know. I know I know who she who is she. This is what my hair is giving not much. You know what I'm saying um. So, if you're new to my channel, welcome if you're an OG welcome back. So if you haven't heard I've been struggling with, my hair is my camera crooked. Also, I'm really not sure. If this is this dark, or should I turn on my lights, I don't like it nope, so if you're new or you just need a refresher ever since I caught covet of, I got covered the end of 2021 like the after Christmas in December, and then I Had it throughout the first week of January, and then after that, I realized, my hair was thinning out falling out in the shower and just looks completely different than what it used to look like after I would come out of the shower. Now. Um, a lot of people have a lot of theories talking about. Oh, it's stress from planning a wedding buying a house or you have heat damage, blah blah, I'm not going to go back and forth anyone. I just want to say I straightened my hair. If you watch my reversion video, my hair was fine after I washed it. Okay, guys, I'm back and my hair is completely reverted. I don't think I see any heat damage at all she's, looking just how she always looks. You know, and that's just how she always looks so everything looks like it's back to normal heat damage doesn't show up four months after you straighten your hair, so I just want to debunk that. So I really honestly think it's a covet issue because my hair was coming out in clumps like I was losing so much hair and then my hair just kind of just started dying. It just got thin. I don't know whatever it was. I don't really care at this point because it is what it is and I can't go back in time whether it's covered heat damage stress from the wedding buying a house. I don't know but we're here now. You know what I'm saying. So, let's not let's not debate it's just; it is what it is. So, as many of you know, I do have a hair appointment very soon by the time you guys see this it'll probably be already done. It'S already done. I am chopping off my hair, I'm starting, I don't know if I want to say I'm starting over, because what I'm about to do is not necessarily what most people would expect from me, but I'm gon na do it because I want to do it. You know what I'm saying so: yeah, I'm gon na cut my hair into a bob and I'm just going to begin heat training, which is really like your curls do die, but I'm like my curls dead anyway. So I might as well have fun with this period of time that I have you know what I'm saying so I just kind of be like a straight hair natural where I don't perm my hair. I don't put any chemicals in it, but I will just be blow drying and flat ironing my hair. Just for a season I want to have, you know: do the straight hair bob look for like a year and a half two years and then I'll probably cut it off all again, but at this point in my hair Journey, this is gon na. Be my third big chop, you know I've done color. I'Ve done a cute short style. I'Ve just you know. I'Ve done a few things and now I kind of feel like I'm on a plateau where I'm like how many more braid out videos do y'all want from me. You know how many twist out deep conditioned videos if you want those just go back and watch the ones I did already, but I'm not gon na just continue to be dead horse. Just because you're like I want to see your hair and a braid out again. Did it so now I'm doing something that I've never done before a lot of people are gon na be mad. I personally don't care uh, we'll be back we'll be back just not for right now. So that's just my little disclaimer, because the next time y'all see a hair video from me. She is going to be different, okay very excited, but I didn't want to do one last natural hairstyle. You know like let's try something one more time. I'M gon na do something that I haven't done in a very long time we're covering these babies. I haven't used these in years, but since my hair is acting like you don't got no home, I figured I'd, have to kind of manipulate it a little bit more to make it look the way I want it to look. So this is what my hair looks. Like freshly washed in deep conditioned, this is The Vibes you know, okay, so I do a side part. I feel, like the middle part, is very much in right now. You want to talk. If you know what this is leave a comment so should I just use gel or like what do the girlies use, so I'm gon na just be using this, madam CJ Walker stretch and Define curl cream. I probably should have watched some YouTube videos on this before I did it just to make sure I'm like using the right products, because I'm like do you use cream or do you use a mousse or should I use a lit? Maybe I use a little bit of both can't go wrong with that. Okay, I hope when I watch this back, I'm not like. Oh my gosh, it's so dark. Did I press record all right, so I think I'm gon na just do very, like some big sections. Nothing too small, like back in the day. I would do like 12 braids on each side, but I'm not doing that because I want it to look a little bit thicker, so I don't want to do anything too small, so I think I'm gon na do three. In the back here, let's do three remember little bitty bees back here, oh and then like yeah yeah. I like that so anyways. I kind of just wanted to talk about the natural hair community a little bit. Can we talk about it? Girls? Can we talk about it? I saw a video by Kimberly cherelle and you know I've been on Tick, Tock kind of like stalking girls who you know are like straight Naturals again, a straight natural is just someone whose hair is natural. You know no chemicals, but they straighten it um all the time whatever so I've been, you know, looking at their comments and a lot of girls are mad, saying like you, don't love yourself or um grow. Your hair is so damaged. Stop after stop trying to act like your hair is not damaged and like ew, you have heat, damaged, blah blah and, like I don't know, I do not like the way that y'all treat people over some hair, oh yeah, so look. This is giving y'all a fair warning, don't come around here because I just feel like it's so weird how people like get so. What'S the word like so hurt over somebody else's decision, not only someone else's decision, because sometimes other people's decisions do affect us like. You know who you're voting for or something like that, but like over a haircut or someone decides to dye their hair or someone decides to flat iron, their hair like. Why does it have to be world war? Three? I don't get it and I can understand some people might be like well. You know Jess, like you help me like love, my natural hair and now you're like not having natural hair anymore, but I'm like well girl. I you know, I helped you and now be free birdie. You know what I'm saying like fly like. I hope that no one is so attached to what I'm doing on my head that it would like make. You feel sad or deter you like over some hair. At least like, if I did something crazy like I don't even want to, I don't know like I don't know, I don't know like girl, I don't know, but over some hair, no hair. No, I really feel like people need to just stop stop. Why are all so weird all right, real quick though I'm gon na break? Should I twist no I'm just too late, I'm going to braid like the first half, and then that means the bag's not even opened okay. So now I think I'm gon na add some moose. I don't know what I'm doing. I'M not sure. I don't really know what I'm doing. I don't do this job very often, all right so move to the end. We'Re gon na y'all just want to say this is not a tutorial. I don't know like I'm really just trying to figure it out. Okay, with all the years that I've been doing natural hair tutorials, this one ain't never been for me, you know what I'm saying. Okay, I like it all right, so that's just what I'm gon na be doing so anyways. I don't know. I just feel like y'all are weird, not everybody's, not everybody, but the ones who do do it like you're, too attached to somebody else's life. Like I was saying, I was watching Kimberly, Cheryl's video, and it's so funny because a lot of what she said I have been thinking for a while, because people are like what are you gon na do some more natural hair videos and it's like girl. You want another twist out sis if you search YouTube. Only one just twist out you're gon na see like five videos like I've done it so many times and like I don't want to be like a a little slave Pony or like a this, is not the circus like y'all can't just put a ring up and Then I jump through it. You know what I'm saying and um Kim was saying. Like people were like well yeah, you know you built your career off of natural hair and so have I, but it's like y'all ain't never had a career path switched before, like your girl been vlogging, and I still do natural hair videos every now and then, but As you can see, my recent natural hair videos have been me complaining about my hair or not necessarily complaining, but more so just being like girl. What happened? My hair is doing some weird things right now bruh. My hair has really been like abandoning me bro, like what you got going on. She ain't been treating me right and what I do, what I'm about to do, if my hair was still flourishing, absolutely not, and do I know exactly what to do to get my hair back. Of course, I've been in a girl. I ain't new to this. I'M True to this, I know exactly what to do to get my hair back right, but I want to do something different now that I have to cut my hair, like I just have to like. If you saw the picture I posted on my Instagram the other day, I'm gon na post it right here. Do you see the way my twist goes from thick to extremely skinny and gross like yeah? People are like? Oh, don't cut it just nourish it back to life like there's, no nourishing that back. That'S gone, that's dead, so I'm like if I got ta cut my hair anyway. I'M eventually gon na have to start all over might as well have some fun real quick. First, you know and and buy something different because, okay, maybe I'm doing four pieces back here, I'm doing four back here so I mean that's it really. People were like telling him like. Oh I don't like your dyed hair. I miss your black hair. It'S like girl like who are you to say that to somebody y'all better, stop talking to my friends, crazy. I don't like that. I don't like that, and I only feel it because, like I've, been there too, like y'all, remember when I first dyed my hair honey Brown, it was a Honey brown or something girl. The comment section was crazy. Yeah it was um. It was not a good time. It was not a good time, but you know something I learned like people's feelings and emotions they're. So like fickle and pleading like At first everybody hated my hair, I hated it. I hated it. I said all these things, but then, when they start growing out a little bit everyone's like oh, my gosh, I love this hair color. So much even when I dyed my hair red, it's like oh, I missed the old color, like I always say especially today, and that I've been noticing that people have been very, very opinionated on things that literally don't change their life at all. You know if I wanted to dye my hair green tomorrow. I just don't see why people would be so hurt over it. This is to anyone who wants to do something with their hair girl. Do it because if you don't do something because you're afraid of what people are gon na think then you're never gon na do anything because people are gon na hate, whatever you do or they're gon na love whatever you do, it's just make sure you love what You do period, that's it girl, it ain't, nothing too crazy. I'M just saying I'm just saying I feel like everyone. The natural hair community is like y'all are weird: it's like a weird weirdly over attachment to somebody else's hair. Like I, it's all it's all good that you like love, your crown and blah blah, but when you get like weirdly over attached to like somebody else's hair and like the things that they do to their own hair, it's weird and like when somebody does something to Their hair, it's like, oh, you don't love yourself, because you straighten your hair, but like it's the same person, who's wearing makeup, everybody always wants to say something about somebody else, but they don't even look at what they look like I don't know that was just my Little quick Spiel because I know it's coming whether I say this or not, but I'm not. I have zero plans on addressing anything after I do cut my hair and like straighten it into a cute Bob. I don't have no plans on the dressing. Nobody because like why why the only person opinion that I'm really concerned about is my husband and still it's not everything, because he always says you know do what you want to do, whether I like it or not. But of course like I want him to like it, you know what I'm saying, but if I really wanted to do this and he was like honestly, a Bob is my least favorite hairstyle, I'm like that's unfortunate, you're gon na love. It today you're gon na love. It as long as I ain't hurting nobody physically mentally financially, then I don't see what the hooplas about whoa whoa, that was nice. Who was that anyways? So, let's see we'll do this part, so I have four back here and then I'm going to. I really have no idea what this is gon na turn out like watch. It turn out fantastic and I'm like. Oh, let's cancel my hair appointment. You know, let's see how I feel highly doubt. It'S gon na be the case, but like it would be cool if it turned out nice, because I haven't done anything cool with my natural hair in such a long time, like maybe three or four months, I haven't really done anything with my hair because it's just Been looking so oh hey, assistant's been looking real ugly. I'M not gon na lie like my hair is not cooperating. Okay, so I'm all done. I have four three four five, six seven. I have seven on each side. So that's 12 in total, nope, that's 14! In total, I'm just going to let these air dry overnight. I also want to say, like I hope, I'm not coming off distasteful or like mean girlish or sour. I don't know like. I also want to say everyone is allowed to have an opinion so like. If you don't like something, it's okay, to think that all I'm saying is everyone be respectful and stop like projecting your feelings on other people and telling people how they should feel or what they should do or what not to do, because, at the end of the Day, if it's not your child's or somebody you're responsible for then no one has to really listen to you. You know what I'm saying like find a better Outlet to express your anger like a baby, a journal. You know or something like that. I'M just saying the girls in the natural hair community like it's supposed to be a community, but people are so mean, and it's just like. Oh I'm like. Why would I want to be a part of that? I don't you know. I love you guys whether you you learn, love me. I hate me whatever love or hate the hair, love or hate. What I do anything like you know. It'S all love over here. Okay, it's all love! So anyways, like I said, I'm gon na let this dry and then I'll be back tomorrow with the final look, I hope this comes out good. If not, that was the last straw anyway, but we gon na see all right I'll keep this light on. So y'all can see guys. I just I have no desire. I have no desire to do this anymore. This is not excite me at all wow, it's not it's like not good. I mean I'm probably gon na have to hit the half up half down it. Oh, my gosh, I don't I'm about to put my wig back on for real. I don't like this at all bro. Would this be a good Puff yeah? This might make a good cut, though, like that's what we're gon na do. I know some of y'all, probably gon na, be like girl. It'S not that bad. You know, even if I see my edges were gelled or like ew, am I going to my sixth grade tap recital I don't like it. So it does look better. Sometimes sorry, I didn't wear my hair, and so I ain't wore my hair. I haven't worn my hair in so long that I forget that it takes a little bit of manipulation in TLC for the style to come out right, not even a style but like not every style that we do with our natural hair is gon na, come out Right but there's always a backup plan: okay, okay, let's not abandon, plan b or c. Was this what I wanted? No wanted the fro! You know what I'm saying, but this will do you know this is cute, I kind of like it hey what a nice little last Rendezvous before I chop you off. You know what I'm saying this is a nice send-off girl. I miss you. We will be back, though one of these days we'll be back. Sis no wait, wait hold on. I like you, are you flirting with me? Well, this was cute, so basically, if anyone's struggling with their natural hair or their texture or anything, this could be a nice little style if you're not willing to chop it off like I'm about to do. But if you need a style to hold you over, this could do so anyways. You guys. I hope you enjoyed this video. I hope we can all be nice. Lastly, shout out to everyone who has always been really encouraging and so nice and so supportive throughout the years. I see you guys, I see you in the Vlogs commenting, I guess see, I see y'all. I really do so. I'M not even talking to the majority of you, because majority of you guys are team Jess like for real, like no matter. What and y'all are my friends in real life. You know what I'm saying so love you guys I'll see you in my next vlog. In my next hair video that is gon na be one you're gon na want to see you know what I'm doing. I hope so I hope I don't go there and change my mind. I don't know we're. Just gon na have to see all right love. You guys bye

OnlyOneJess: also we're almost at 500k! im preparing for a HUGE giveaway, leave suggestions on what you guys would like to win (no cars our houses please lol) ! or if y'all just want money lol gonna pick 5 winners! love you guys so much and thank you for EVERYTHING and for always being so supportive <3

Sisima13: If she chops it off we get another front row seat in watching her hair grow back to the same length within a year ❤

Faye In The City: “It’s supposed to be a community but people are so mean” An ENTIRE word!

Chestarr21 Batson: I was raised in the 60’s. Wearing your hair natural, pressed, dyed or eventually relaxed was never an issue. So all the comments for people who choose what is best for “their” hair today is amazing to me! What the heck happened to just supporting your sisters? I have never worn a weave, wig, or braids in my life as I wear only my hair out daily. Can’t braid to save myself. LOL. But I don’t come for folks who are natural but lived in protecting styles because I get it. I say “You love it- then I love it for you!”

Ariel: I killed myself laughing when you said "Be free, Birdy. Fly". Keep being you because you are hilarious.

Phoenicia Cloud: You literally look gorgeous and I’m so excited for you to be doing something that makes you happy because we (subscribers) are her to support and uplift you as you live you life. It’s a blessing we get to see your testimony of life in action but people be trippin. I pray that you have an awesome experience.

S. E. Lomax: I think you’re onto something Jess… my hair started breaking off a few months after I caught COVID. My hair was relaxed, and the damage was double that of yours. Whether you’re natural curly or straight, I’m here for it girl! ❤❤

Mrs Lewis: Do you girl! You are beautiful inside and out regardless and we will still be here watching and appreciating your content

BA: I came for the braid out videos and stayed for the personality ❤

Collette Acciani: Yes im excited for the new styles. I chopped off my long natural hair almost a year and a half ago and have been rocking colors and waves and now I just decided to let it grow out for locs.. new hair literally feels like turning over a new leaf and getting a fresh start at life! Can't wait for the new video with the Bob. Please open the video with the signature bob head swing

Margaret O: The same thing happened to me last year when I got covid. A few weeks after I got sick, my hair was falling out and thinning so I cut it. Then I got covid again this year in July ‍ & my hair is being funny AGAIN!! I feel your pain & im about to cut mine too it’ll grow back! We got it EDIT: the bob is going to look soooo good on you can’t wait to see

Erynne Christian: Hey! When I had covid back in January of this year, my hair was completely damaged afterwards. I was losing a lot of hair in the shower and I thought I was balding, lol. My hair was getting easily tangled which never happened before. It went on like this for months and the only thing I could think of possibly affecting my hair was being sick. I had to do the big chop again and I'm not shedding as much as I was before and my hair is bouncing back. If it is a covid related issue, big chopping definitely helped me! I went to a professional to get it cut.

creativemelanin: I went through something similar a few months ago and decided to do the same exact thing! I cut it into a bob, and wore it straight for the entire winter, early spring season!! No REGRETS! Right now I’ve had it in protective styling & my hair is so much healthier! I needed that moment!

Monique: Jess, your hairstyle turned out beautifully! Can't wait for the next chapter in your natural hair journey!! ❤

Vikki Long: I’ve been natural for 8 years and I just cut my hair into a bob and became a straight natural. I’m extremely happy with my decision

Brittany Nettles: Wow what’s crazy is over the last few months I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should relax my hair and decided that I want to heat train my hair! It’s just easier to manage!!! I don’t have time anymore I’m not 21 and willing to spend 3/4 hrs on my hair anymore lol

Choconet Hotcoco: I remember when you colored your hair and your subbies had a hissy fit!!! I watched hazelgoddess big chop because she dyed her hair and her subbies had a hissy fit!!!! I watched the same video of KimberlyCherrill and her subbies were trying to drag her for her color treated hair! These people treat y'all like they playing The SIMS. They act as if they can control what you do to your hair like you're a SIMS character. IT'S JUST HAIR and it will grow back so people need to realize that this is YOUR hair on YOUR head and whatever you choose to do with it that's your business. Be Free Sis!!!

Cierra J @ Home: I can't wait to see it!! You'll look beautiful no matter what hairstyle you get!

Emeth: Jess, I feel you on the hair. When I had Covid, my hair changed also. My hair looks just like your hair. My twist is just like the picture you showed us of your hair. People need to know, that we all have free agency to do what we want. It is crazy for anyone to tell another how to wear their hair.

Tiffany M: I feel like 3/4 of us were "straight naturals" growing up, and our mamas had our hair FLOURISHING with grease & a hot comb! But for some reason, this technique has become taboo today. (I've been bouncing between curly and str8 since I ✂️ my relaxed hair 5 years ago, and I have zero heat damage to this day. I also straighten my hair myself at home tho.) Regardless, we need to stop acting like heat is the only potentially damaging style we curly girls do... Can't wait to see your new style, Jess!

citykisses21: ✂low key, I've been wanting to bob my hair for over a year. Might go ahead and do it. Had covid end of April and I'm seeing the difference in my hair now. Can't wait to see how yours turn out!✂

Angelica Mendes: I’m excited to see your new style. It’s perfectly natural to want something different. A new phase of life calls for a new look. After rocking my natural curls for 6 years I relaxed and then cut it off after a year and now I’ve have microlocs for 5 months. Love a good switch up

Fallone Lane: Congratulations Jess! I’m going straight myself. I’ve worn my hair all kinds of ways over the year’s and I’m sure that the decision you’re making in right for you. Life is short, do what you feel. I support you.

Kendra C: Sis I’m here for the straight bob!!!!!!! I’m always torn between wearing my hair straight and wearing it curly

Jayla Dunbar: I’m ready for the straight hair natural content. I’m in the same boat with my hair and I want a change too. I’ve been watching since you started and I’m ready to see you be happy with YOUR HAIR! Love this!!!❤

Hair by Mz Magic: Can't wait to see your journey, I went from relaxed to a straight natural to totally natural..I have never big chopped, only Transitioned..Every Black girls journey is different, I'm here for it

Dyonne JP: Hi. I am a 44 year old woman who has been following you for at least 4-5 years now. I started watching your natural hair videos because you were doing cute styles for me to copy, that were not to hard for me to do on my own hair. You kept me hip and current. I love all the different styles when you styled the front of your hair and put jewels on the hair. That being said, I am totally good with you being happy to change up your hair. I love watching your videos. I love you have let us follow your life. I'm happy you have gotten married. And I am going to keep watching you and supporting you, no matter what you are doing. You are a young, intelligent, and inspirational woman.

Geraldine Fidelis: I feel on the "you want something different". Late last year, my hair started thining out, and the only option was to cut it. I decided to do something different before I cut it. So I did jheri curls, and loved it so much. I'm ready to cut my hair now that I'm satisfied I did what I wanted. Ps. My hair is 4c

Patricia Velez: Jess!! Do YOU!! Life is wayyyy too short to try to please people! So proud of you for what you've accomplished! The Lord continue to guide you and keep you! Congratulations

Gentle-Storm Wyatt: Mannnnn I feel like you are saying everything I have been saying. Like I literally had covid during Xmas and had it for two weeks. In February gworlllllll the shedding was incredible. Like how is this happening. And it continued. Here we are now in September and I’m like I wanna cut it off and no one understands that besides you and others who have gone through this. I might as well straighten it and have fun before I do the big chop yet again ‍ Thank you for being authentically YOU!

Alexus: I can’t wait to see the new cut!!! I already know it’s going to look amazing on you!…definitely in the same boat as you right now. Not having any issues with my hair but just kind of tired of all the natural hairstyles and want something different and fun!

CountessofMonteCristo: I've been relaxed, had dreadlocks and now natural. Hair is fun. You'd look so cute in a permed pixie look...but I think it would also be cool to experiment with colours before you cut.

leslie williams: My friend lost a big patch of hair from covid. COVID is a shock to our bodies. Thanks for sharing your vulnerabilities and the lovely times in your life Jess.

Dearest Dear: Hiiiiiii Jess Always remember: You are absolutely beautiful just like Everyone else. Whatever you do in life, don’t try to be like anyone else, be like no one else, continue to be you! Many blessings to You, Jonathan and your families. Love and prayers always ❤️

Roz: It turned out cute, after all, with the half up, half done. It will be fun to see what you do on the next leg of your journey with the natural/straight.

Ivy Merritt: I love, love, LOVE the final look!! Can't wait to see what you do when you get the big chop!!

Shatorriyaè: Listen girl I can’t wait to see this new look because I love changing my hair cutting it growing it coloring it Periodt!!! I ready for this new energy!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Stephanie : At the end when you said “Girl ima miss you!” but really though, I can’t wait to see how you feel about being a straight hair natural! I been thinking about doing the same thing. Having natural hair has gotten difficult hahaha

SP L.: This hairstyle is adorable on you. You are so right. People are so opinionated and always telling someone else what to do with their lives. Do what makes you happy. Live your truth. I am good with whatever you choose to do with your hair.

88niteowl88: Enjoy your new hair journey, sis. You have a wonderful personality. To everyone reading this, Jesus loves you.

Vetta: Yessss Jess, I’m team CHOP!! The change will be an awesome transformation Go for it!!

BeastHunter2121: I get a blowout whenever I need a trim. And I rock my natural straight hair do for as long as it looks good, plus I just paid a nice bundle for this hair style. My proble is I can’t workout w/o destroying my hair. The I slide right back into wash & braid territory. So the lil hair vacation is a blessing, and I’m ready to get back into my natural hair routine.

Trilliann Pinnock: Girl! Totally relatable! I started my journey as a straight hair natural this month. I cut off over 6 inches so I now have a cute little shoulder length bob and I love it! Everybody gets at me for having such "nice hair" but knowing that your hair isn't healthy doesn't make the compliment any better. Idk how long amma be on this silk press journey but for right now... I AM LOVING IT!

Angel Milton: I’m so excited to watch your hair grow again. I had to do a mini big chop recently from neglecting my hair so we’re in this together!

Morgan Portis: I’ve been here for 5 years and I love it here ❤ You’re so funny and relatable!

KeKe Moyer: I’m with you. Ready to big chop for the THIRD TIME, but I’m not ready I also don’t like straightening my hair

Daphne Michel: Yasss sis! Do you and what makes you happy. I had a friend who had covid and is experiencing hair loss too, I think its a common side effect of covid. I cant wait for the new hair!

Planning with Bre: Very excited to see the new hairstyle! And I’ve thought about doing the exact same thing because my hair was tripping a little bit too! Like girl…get it together! But after a nice lil snip snip and and a lil TLC she was flirting with me too . So I’m here for it!

kettanistar: Looking forward to the transformation. Thinking of becoming a straight natural-a happy compromise to the relaxer

Teshanna Bynoe: I'm excited to see what you do next with your hair! At the end of the day you have to do what makes you happy and what's best for you! ❤️

Stephanie Derolus: I can’t wait for the new hairdo ❤ And she really did grow her hair back thick and full within a year.

Wanida Wright: I've been with you since you started. Do what's best for you and your hair!!!! Team Jess

rachelmiaa: Girl no one will be attached!! I’m doing the exact same thing your doing so it’s funny I was really into the natural hair thing but after the summer with my twists, I really loved my hair blowed dryed and protective styles!! Maybe I’ll go back to the straigh but I’ll need a professional. Either way it’s what your doing and people shouldn’t be so pressed about it. ❤

disneygurl921: I completely get the frustration because honestly my hair has been exactly like how yours is now since I went natural back in 2013. I used to think it was heat damage too because when I was transitioning, I would flat iron my hair for the blending but it’s been 9 years and my hair is still thick at the roots and thin as hell at the ends regardless of how many times I cut it. I might hop on the heat training move for a bit too honestly

Bresha Anderson: Ya’ll better not come for my friend about no dang hair, ESPECIALLY when her new cut is FREAKING . It slaps so hard! This was a good send off for the curls, but Bay-Bee, that bob….oh she bobbing! You look absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see this new journey! I love this for you!

Erin Smith: I love you Jess you are so funny I can’t wait to see your new look ❤

Tiffany Brown: Hey Jess, super excited for your new hair journey! ❤

Cristy Lunceford: I always watch your videos (don't know why I'm not subscribed ) I love your personality and the way you keep it real. I was really enlightened watching this video, as I also experienced my hair being disrespectful after having covid. It's so frustrating because I really want to love my natural hair but it's not giving what it's supposed to give. I'm glad you're doing what is best for you and YOUR hair. Keep inspiring girl!!

Star* C: Girl, you too funny! Look forward to seeing your new hairstyle. Stay blessed

Natoya D: Girl I'm with uuuuuuu. I'm up for a change.. thinking about relaxing and doing a bob. Switching up a bit so hussy and all will love it. Ignore the trolls and do what works for you and your lifestyle. At this point I feel like I need a lil ease to do my hair. Bob and relaxer for me for the while. I've did the natural 3 times so gonna try a difference.

Hair-rapy_81: It's your hair & it's totally up to YOU to switch things up. I want your hair to be healthy at the end of the day! You have helped me master the "Maximim Hydration Method" and for that I'm grateful. I can't wait to see what else you do to your hair Jess!

Shelby McDanDan: Hugs. U got this Jess!!

Zedian Queen: I agree! How you wear your hair is your choice. I'm excited to watch as you travel your new journey! And...congratulations to you and Johnathan!

I Am Precious Walker: Excited to see your straight hair videos, whatever you produce is always

Kaiyla Thompson: Jess you are amazing ✨I support you fully! Speak that ish! Lol You are freaking hilarious, your thought process/story telling Can’t wait to see the bob

Latoya A. Gordon-Stephenson: OMG! Watched your “CHOP, CHOP‍♀️✂️” video threats that you sent out through the airwaves the other day and woke up this morning with an epiphany. I have had issues with Anemia and I know you mentioned the same in the past. I can see how you would associate the hair issues with COVID-19, due to it’s onset, but you may need to look deeper. Recently had a Hysteroscopic Myomectomy due to this anemia, and a UFE pending for the remaining stuff, I know, shoulda just skipped the 1st step all together, but didn’t know about UFEs sorta until after. Was watching a video where a lady was explaining that hair loss/diminished edges etc. Are related to low vitamin D and Fibroids, which can also lead to infertility. Don’t know where you are Gynecologically, but maybe the hair issues stem deeper than Rona and chopping it would be like putting a band aid on a cut, the cut would still exists…yu get mi? You are funny though , you know how these people feel about hair cuts and extensive manipulation of natural hair and you just continue “playing the violin to mess with their emotions.” Good one ☝️. -God bless

Catherine Butler: Cute back up style, which I’ll be doing on mine. Much success back on your hair journey. Peace and blessings! ❤️

Vanessa Williams: I'm fairly new to YouTube natural hair videos. I was blessed to come across one of your videos. I've been a fan ever since. There is definitely a change in your hair; you know your hair best. Enjoy your hair journey. I'm here for the it and your easygoing spirit. My journey is getting easier by watching videos and "learning". My new routine is bomb and my hair is now flourishing. Thanks, gurrlllll! Keep giving!

Ymoni: Do you Jess, I’m here for whatever you decide. Excited to see the bob

Samantha Towers: You turned this into a great styleTrue to form and I had no doubts . I understand you wanting to start over, the front of my hair will not grow for anything and the struggle is real. Can’t wait for the new look❤️❤️

Keysia Parsely: Go girl, help us to try different hair styles ❤

Terrie Elaine: Jess you are beautiful inside and out, regardless of your hair. Can't wait to see the new do, I know it's going to be awesome!

Joy Walden: I came because of the hair videos, I stay because of the personality I love all your videos Jess, and I'm committed for the ride Can't wait to see the new dew ‍❤️

Starroze aka Kawaiicutiebaby: ❤ do what makes you happy sis . I think your hair came out cute and I saw your video on IG and your hair looks amazing . I never understood why some people get so attached to other people’s hair and relationships.

SolarSister: I can't wait to see this next chapter in your hair journey! I've seen other naturals become "straight" naturals with success. Honestly I've thought many times of becoming a straight natural because the quest to hold on to a curl can be exhausting! Too much heat, over manipulating, over protective styling, the wrong products. Seems like I'm always concerned about loosing or losing my curl pattern when these two factors doesn't always mean hair loss. I've big chopped because of a few loosened curls believing that I needed to have curl consistency. The hair wasn't even falling out or thin, just a bit looser than other parts of my hair. Good luck on your journey!

Lamia Martin: I been following you for quite a while and every video no matter what ever video you post you always lift my spirits... Much love and to you, your family and your life journey ❤

Deborah Dawkins: I am right there with you with my natural hair. My hair has been giving cut and perm. I am so over it. Keep keeping it real.

Serena 🤍: Saw you in insta and I was shocked out of this world. Sis you did a whole transformation for the girls, new hair, new phone ❤️ Purr

Celeste Perry: Hey Jess, I am with you! I am going to cut my hair too. I am older than you, so my issue with my hair, could be age. Sometimes, you have to change it up. Also, I used the same hair color brand you used, last October. I noticed a change in my hair a few months after using it. So, I've decided to use hair make-up if I want color. I can wash it out whenever and don't have all the worries of color treated hair.

Naturally Graced: Whatever you decide I know it’s gone be bomb!!!!! Looking forward to seeing the new look! I just chopped mine off. We welcome to the twa side. If you went that short

Mocha Dee: I remember when Keke J locked her hair the comment section was so weird!!! She inspired me to install microlocs on my hair. And if she decides she wants to comb them out, why would I turn around and send her hate for not continuing her journey? It’s weird!

Erica Amari: ooh girl imma pray for your hair in a year when your going through postpartum! hope the same doesn’t happen then

LeTonya Williams: I believe it's Covid too. I lost about 18 inches of hair after having Covid. My hair dresser salvaged what she could. I ended up with big spaces, bald spots, and 1/2 to 1 inch hair...in March. Fast forward to now..thank God it's much more thicker, growing well, and I have about 2 to 4 inches now. Was taking biotin and zinc. It's at an awkward length, and I'm not used to short hair..but I'm making the best of it. Jess, do what you feel is best...you're beautiful, inside and out!!

Sam Glam: Love this look....tbh, I've been here before with my hair, I just went back to a relaxer. It's your hair, do what you gotta do for you!

Sausha Kamara: I was a straight natural for a while. My hair was still tight and coily when it was wet (I actually had better definition then) so you still shoukd be able to do natural hair styles if you want too.

Shatorriyaè: Chop it so we can grow our hair together Sis !!! 5 month post my big chop (shaved head) !!♥️♥️♥️ we love you either way

SlanDIY: I think I am gonna do the same thing sis, chop chop. ✂️ My hair is been breaking and thinning sooo bad. I thought it was postpartum but after two years hmmmm I am still asking myself. Anyway, it’s just hair and they are growing back. Do whatever you think is right.

T A: Whoa! I didn't think about that. Damn Covid! I caught it to. I am experiencing the same things with my hair. Not bold enough to cut though. My hair acts SO frail and light now and it comes out as well. I've always had thick hair, but not now... Do what's best for you chick. ❤️

Nadine D: I've always loved your hair. Do whatever you need to do to make you well, can't give in to the haters

Regina Douglass: Jess short, medium or long your hair always looks good and fits your personality!

Audreydee74: Hey Jess, cute as always… can’t wait to see what u do with ur do!

Danyta Townsend: I'm so ready to see the new hair journey

Asharaie Delahaye: Am excited for this new hair journey Jess!

Just Joia: Do What You Want!! I can’t wait to see your new look. I’m laughing because Kim went in on people. But like you said, stop being weird on someone’s else hair!

Michelle Moore: Shug, let the haters - hate! It's your hair, & you're the one in charge of it. Do what is best for you!!!! I have done so many different styles & ideas for my hair once I stop worrying what others think. Our husband's opinions are the only ones that matter. I want to "heat train" my hair within the next few months. Excited to see your new do!!!

vanessa fitzpatrick: It's cute Jess. You can wear just about anything, and make it look good.

Mariah Perry: I am literally in the same boat when it comes to my hair! Im ready for a relaxer at this point

Queen J: Excited for the new mini journey until big chop. Your hair Your choice
