Diy Soft Locs Tutorial (Extended 36") | Beginner Friendly Tutorial | Chev B.

This tutorial will show you a simple method to do Soft Locs. I'll also show how to extend the locs to 36 inches. The method has less tension and manipulation on your natural hair.

I did 50 parts for this style.

GWAN BIG UP UNNU SELF ! XOXO

Welcome beautiful people, i am Chev b. If you are new to this channel, welcome wah gwan make sure you are subscribed down below in today's video i'll, be creating the knotless soft locs in 36. Inches for you guys and the hair that i'm using is from amazon, and i got it in 18 inches and it has 21 pieces in one pack. So what we're going to be doing is connecting two 18 inch lock together to create that 36 inch length. The thing is a lot of companies: don't do that length they stop at like 24 and also we'll be using a spring here to wrap around our locs, and i got this in 12 inches. So i only end up using one pack of this hair to do the wrap around and because it's a spring here, it's super stretchy and there's a lot of length to it. You'Ll also need your crochet needle. They gave me a crochet needle in the pack, with the full lock. So, if not, you might want to order that on amazon as well and to style i'm using the shine and jam magic fingers to create my parting and to braid the hair and also i'll be using this camel rose sealant, because you know you need to moisturize And keep your hair protected within a protective style. So i'm just going to show you guys how i create the 36 inch lens. So we have two pieces of 18 inches and on the first piece, we're going to open the loop of the full lock and then on the second fold. Lock we're going to open the ends to create a split like to split it into make sure that you have a nice split length, okay and then what you're gon na do is you're gon na push one end through the loop and then create a knot. Now you don't want your knot to be bulky, so you want to get that nice and tight and make sure that everything is fitted and secure. Now i made sometimes i make two knots. Sometimes i make three just to make sure that it is secure and i always test it out by pulling the hair just to make sure that it's not sliding through or pulling or nothing like that, because this is you don't want none of that. Okay, so just testing it out after i create the knot just to make sure that it's nice and secure now what you're going to do is you're going to unravel the ends and wrap them around the faux locs. So one is going up and one is going down and then you're going to be using some got to be freezing spray to spray it on the hair, just to make sure that it's locked in you could also use nail glue. If you want that super super security, i'm on vacation right now, so if you hear roosters in my background, our cars passing girl, i am editing this video on vacation and the hair with the gossipy freezing spray so far is holding up really well. I haven't had any hair unraveling or coming apart. It is nice and secure with the got to be freezing spray. So i'm just going to rub that in the palm of my hands, and that is how secure the hair is, and that is how we create or 36 inches yes girl. Now, let's move on to the parting section of this video. Now a lot of people oftentimes ask me: how do i section my hair if it's different from doing box braids honestly, i section my hair the same for all protective styles when i'm doing like braids twists or faux loc. It'S all the same. I just part my hair in equal half, so you got one in the front one in the back. I secure the back and then i work on the front or secure the front work on the back. First, it doesn't matter in total i'll, be doing 50 faux. Locs, i repeat: in total, there are 50 old locks. Okay, so 21 pieces come in one pack, but you're doubling up because remember we're connecting the ends of the full lock. So if i have 50 partings and it's double that means you're gon na need a hundred pieces of that olak. So that's approximately what five packs of hair since there's 21 in one. I hope my math is correct. Proof i just paused and did the math. That'S five: approximately five packs of hair. It'S four point something, but just to be on the safe side, get five or six, because sometimes you don't know you might have to redo some of the partings and you might lose a full, lock or two. So just call it five to six packs in total that you will need to do this and only one pack of spring into his hair. Okay, that we got that covered now to braid. I just use the shine and jam to part and plait the hair or braid it down, and then i'm twisting my ends making sure that it's secure with the camo rose, edge or end sealant to lock in the moisture and keep my ends protected. And then i'm just gon na part down the middle of the center to make sure that it's i can get a center part or a side, part nice, and even so. First i put the shine and jam on the parting. Then i go over that with my tail comb, just to make sure that it's nice and neat - and this is my technique in making sure that my hair - even though i did it myself - i want to make sure that it looks professionally done now. For the back parting, i have a mirror on the left corner in front of me or right corner. Actually so i have a mirror in the right and then i have another mirror in the back on the left and they're angled in a way where i could see through both mirrors at the same time. So that is how i can see the back of my head to make sure that i have nice clean parts. No, i did 25 on top and 25 in the back now, you're, never gon na get super precise parting. Equal spaces squares all the time, so the hence how you get 25. So i have um a parting on one side that i did a little bit bigger on than the other side, but in all it looks together, looks neat, so i ain't complaining so 25. On top 25, in the back a total of 50 parting spaces. Now i, like my hair light, this hair has been so light. I could put it in a bun, even though it's super long. So 50 was the perfect number for me. Some people like their locs, to be fuller, since it's soft locked, i didn't mind it being a little bit. You know a little bit more thin than too thick and bulky, because, especially when you're doubling up on the amount of hair that you're putting on your head, it tends to get heavy. Some people like to go for 70. 80. 90. Some people, like even a hundred parting spaces, i'm about that live pool like no my neck, needs to be secure. Now this is the method of how i do the knotless, so i do not do the hoop at the base. I do it on my actual hair on the braid and then i pull the end of my hair through the loop to create that security. Now i'm going to go in with the springy hair and what i want to do, or what you should do is fluff that out, because this is what you will be wrapping around the base of your hair. So you want to make sure that it's nice and fluffed out all the way through get it as fluffed out as you can, and then it's not going to be even you're going to have a little part or a little piece that is gon na go on Top so this is basically just to extend the spring here, so you're gon na hold it and then you're gon na stop start wrapping at the base. So i hope i explained that right, i'm so much better at illustrating than i am at explaining, but i'm trying my best to make sure that i explain this as best as i can and then you're going to start wrapping - and this is not going to be About the butter butterfly, a lot of jesus the germany can come with. This is not going to be like a butterfly method, with putting your thumb and creating loops. No we're not going to do all of that, especially since the spring here isn't going to go all the way to the end, i'm making sure that it's nice and snug at the roots, especially and then working down to the ends. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you don't want to create that butterfly effect or you're going to have a texture on top and then the ends are going to look like soft blocks. So it's going to look like you did butterfly on top and soft locks on the bottom. You don't want that. You want the hair to look like you. Did soft locks straight through again, i'm going to repeat the process for you guys about a couple of more times, so you could see it so to create the knotless effect. I create the loop or tie the loop of the faux loc on my actual hair. Then begin the spring twist at the base of my hair and then start wrapping snugly, so you're gon na wrap that as tight as you can, but not too tight because again it's a protective style we're trying to stay away from tension. I hate tension. Also, you want the hair to be movable, so you don't want to do it too tight, but you want to make sure that it's nice and secure and then you start wrapping now to secure the ends, i'm just going to keep wrapping and then again. With this end, you can use the god to be freezing spray to secure the ends or again you can use the a nail glue to do that, but i'm using the got to be freezing spray and then i'm going to rub it in the palm of my Hands i am on vacation, like i told you guys. I am day four on my vacation. No here has unravel with the got to be freezing spray. The got to be freezing spray has been working greatly for me, so i'm going to show you guys one more time, so you better pay attention to the technique and then i'm going to show you how it looks in the very end. Now this style was super. Easy, the hair is surprisingly la light, let's just say last week, it's surprisingly lightweight for it to be doubled up to use what 50 strands of hair like parting, but a hundred pieces like since, like the hair, is light. It is super light. I'M just going to put a little bit of herbal oil on my partings just cause. You know that's a thing for me and yeah. That is basically it. I feel like this sizing and the amount of locks i use is perfect for my head size and weight. I don't want too much weight on and going on vacation. All of that - and this is the final look. Yes, i am 5'3 and this is how long the hair is. I swear. It looks longer than 36 inches again i'll leave the link for the hair that i use down in the description box below these roosters won't. Let me live and yeah. Let me know what you guys think about this style and the tutorial down in the description box. Down below there's so many different variations of faux locs that we are getting and that you could do and all of them are just bomb af, don't forget to subscribe to my channel.
