Hi, what's up my loves, welcome back to my channel if you are new here. Thank you so much for clicking on my video today um my name is Janiece and we are all about hair here. So today's video is going to be an update on my hair condition and what's been going on with my natural hair um. What I've discovered products all that good stuff and then I'm also going to be trying out a roller set to add some volume to my hair for the first time and as you can see here, it turned out really well, I'm smiling because I love the results. Like I've never tried this before, and this is just like everything it's giving everything it needs to give. So if you're interested in hearing me chat a little bit and also seeing how I achieve this, look then keep on watching all right. So I have pressed my hair out off camera just because I wanted to get through it quickly and y'all have seen me press my hair out in multiple videos. So I didn't think that I really needed to walk through that again. But the part that I really wanted to show y'all, and this is actually my first time doing this girl. I don't even know how this will turn out. We'D love to see. I am going to attempt to make my curls last using rollers, so your old school good, oh rollers, I got them in the size, one and three fourths, because my hair is short. I didn't want them too, too big, but then I didn't want them to be super tight. So that's why I got this size. I have two packs of 12.. I don't know how many I'm gon na end up needing we're just gon na wing this and see how it turns on the end, but as I'm doing this showing y'all how I do this, I wanted to update y'all on my hair situation. So a few videos, I've talked about um how my hair is thinning a bit, how I'm suffering from dandruff. So I think that I have seborrheic dermatitis. I haven't officially been diagnosed by a dermatologist. I haven't, haven't even seen a dermatologist yet to be completely honest with y'all um, but based on all of the symptoms, based on what my hair is doing, I seriously think I am like 95 sure that's what it is I'll insert a picture of what my flakes Look like it's more of like a scaling than it is like dandruff, and I think that's like the number one clue to uh figuring out if it's like, actually seborrheic dermatitis or not, because dandruff is more of like it's just kind of like small little tiny. Like flakes that, like fall on your shoulder, this is more of like large peeling in a sense, and they don't really like fall of my scalp they're more like stuck to my scalp, that's kind of like the first giveaway, then the second giveaway is my hair is Thinning, I know that y'all can't really tell, but if you look closely, I don't know if y'all can really see it, but like it's happening right around here and I've watched so many videos, I've read so many reviews of like people that actually do have support dermatitis. That experience the same type of thinning around their hairline and then also the third thing. That'S making me really think this is seborrheic dermatitis is, I noticed so I was using Nizoral, like I mentioned in my last update video, but I only use nice and roll like two or three times and then I stopped because I thought the dandruffs were gone or What I thought was dangerous at the time I thought it was gone, so I was like okay. I don't need to use this anymore, so I stopped using it that was maybe like a month ago and last week. Actually, I noticed that my flaking was coming back, and so I was like shoot. Maybe I should have continued the Nizoral, even though I didn't see any more dandruff just to make sure it doesn't return. And so I try not to wear my hair in slick buns anymore, because they're really not the best for your hair. They cause a lot of breakage and they're, just not really as healthy as we think they they are, or as much of a protective style as we think they are but anyways. I did wear my hair in a bun a few times last week and I try not to pile on a ton of product so that my scalp can breathe, because I thought that that was another reason why I was suffering from these issues. And even though I wasn't piling a ton of products, I was using like this smoothing gel or smoothing agent, smoothing balm or something like that by my L, and so after I started noticing the flakes came back. I looked at the products and it has alcohol in it, so those that have seborrheic dermatitis know that or maybe you do, maybe you don't. I don't know but based on the research I've done on it. Alcohol is one of the main ingredients that causes a flare-up, and so I just thought it was super ironic that I was using a product that had alcohol in it and then all of a sudden, I started to see the flaking again. I'Ve only done like surface level, research on seborrheic dermatitis uh. I need to do a whole lot more, but there are a list of products that really irritate the scalp and if you have support dermatitis, you really have to stay away from those products. Otherwise, you will have a flare-up. The most frustrating thing about seborrheic dermatitis is that there's no cure for it, it's kind of the equivalent to having like eczema or psoriasis. I don't really know if psoriasis and support dermatitis are like the same thing, but it's really like the equivalent to having eczema on your scalp. So it's like, you can't really cure it, but you can do things to like manage it and keep the flare-ups at Bay, and so that's the most like frustrating thing about it is y'all know I love hair, I'm always playing in my hair, and I was literally This morning, like just going through all the products I have up under my sink and they all have alcohol in it. Like I said alcohol is not the only ingredient that will cause a flare-up if you have severe dermatitis, but alcohol is one of the main ones. Literally, all of my products had alcohol in it, so I just currently feel stuck um. I don't know what products to use. I'M sure I know that there has to be alcohol-free products out there, products that are alcohol-free, sulfate, free, paraben, free all these other harmful chemicals which it's actually crazy, because when I was going through all of my products earlier this morning, trying to figure out which ones I can use which ones I can't there were a few ingredients. I didn't really know what they were, and so I Googled them just to make sure it wasn't alcohol in it. There'S one that starts with a PE or actually list it below. So y'all can pay attention to this in your hair care products, but there's one that starts with a p and when I researched it, it's like a well-known carcinogen, a carcinogen like a carcinogen that causes cancer. It'S crazy! How many chemicals there are in our products that we do not know about um? It'S just it's crazy! It'S sad it's unfortunate, and so you just want to make sure like whenever you pick up a product, read the ingredients, because not everybody suffers from a Sensitive Scalp like me, but you don't want your body, your blood, to be absorbing those chemicals anyway, regardless of, if You suffer from a Sensitive Scalp or not like they're, just not good, for you, they're not healthy. So I feel like I'm about to embark on a hair care Journey. Um, it's gon na be frustrating, but hopefully I am able to find products that are healthy and that won't irritate my scalp won't cause flare if y'all have any suggestions or if y'all know about some products that are alcohol free, please leave them below like. I am in desperate need of products because, right now I just I do not know what to do with my hair. Like I'm lost, I am frustrated. I'M confused. My hair has always been my form of self-expression right. I know a lot of people say I am not my hair, you shouldn't be defined by your hair, but it's a little bit deeper than that. To me, hair is Art to me in a sense, like hair has always reflected my mood um my personality, how I'm feeling at the time and so for that to kind of be taken away from me in the sense where I can't really do as much as I usually do with my hair, it's like literally being stripped of like just something that's a passion of mine and something that I love. So I can't lie to y'all, I'm really having a hard time with my hair. Luckily, I work from home a majority of the time, so I have the flexibility to just let my hair like be free, and you know I don't really have to worry about styling, my hair too much but like I said, regardless of whether I'm around people or Not hair has always been a form of self-expression for me. Hopefully it starts to get better. The one thing I have read that is very promising about seborrheic dermatitis and hair loss. Is that a hair loss that you experience from support and it's not necessarily hair loss from seborrheic dermatitis? The hair loss really comes from like the inflammation. So when you have sephoric dermatitis, your scalp is inflamed um and there's some type of like bacteria inflammation or, if like fungus, going on on your scalp, and so that's what really causes the hair loss. But I read that once you kind of get the seborrheic dermatitis under control, the inflammation under control, your hair will grow back. I have not come across an article that says your hair won't grow back. So that's really the part that I'm holding on to Hope about. I want to take y'all on this journey. As I learn things about my hair learn things about the ingredients I can use the products I can use can't use as I find new and healthy products. I just want to take y'all on this journey and loop y'all in because I know that I'm not the only person out there going through this. I'Ve literally been talking for 12 minutes, and so this is why I can't do like Chit Chats. While I'm doing my hair - because I will literally not do my hair like we'll - be just chatting for the whole video, so um all right - let's get into this here - so y'all - I've literally never used rollers before I don't know how to do this. We'Re gon na wing it because one thing about me: I don't like to follow instruction like I don't like to watch tutorials, which is super ironic um, but I really don't like to watch tutorials. I think it it's all about patience. I don't have the patience to do that, so I like to just Wing stuff up and try it and like do it um. Even when I put my furniture stuff together, I literally I will look at the picture. I don't read the instructions like I. I don't know it's some weird thing, so I don't even know how to apply rollers we're just gon na figure it out. This is not really meant to be a heatless method, because obviously I press my hair out. I blow dry, my hair, so that is all heat, inclusive and the way that I'm gon na do it do this. Is I'm gon na actually curl my hair with a curler and then go behind with a ruler to secure it? And I'm doing this because my hair, I don't know if it's just my hair texture, because it's so like sleek and like fine a little bit. I think my hair is fine. I know people say otherwise. My hair is fine to me um. I don't know if it's because my hair is so fine, but it doesn't really hold a curl, especially when it's fresh. Now, if it's like four day old hair, it may hold a curl a little bit better, but I am using the rollers to be able to hold a better curl and to give my hair just more volume. So again, this is not a heatless method, so I don't want y'all to be confused with that, because I know a lot of people will use rollers instead of like using heat to like give their hair volume. But that's not what I'm doing I'm using the curlers or the. What do you call these? The uh rollers using the rollers on here that have already been straightened. My hair is dry uh, so we're gon na see if this works, because I know a lot of times you're here asking me dance or some type of product in order for it to come out right, so we're just gon na experiment and see how this works. I am going to stop talking so that I can actually get this done because the Sun is setting - and I don't like the lighting when the sun sets. So, let's um, let's try to do like. I don't even know like how do I part throughout all right. Let'S just get y'all okay, so these rollers were such a struggle for me. I don't know why. I guess you would think that I should just know how to do this, but I don't. It was my first time doing it. Like I said, and so I was like completely clipping it in the wrong place, like literally just struggling low-key, I think this size is a bit too big. I think the next time I do this, I'm gon na go a tad bit smaller, but overall I was just completely lost. Swag lost - and I probably struggled through this for like a good 10 minutes, and then I ended up having to give my mom a call because I'm like I need help. Okay, how do you use Roblox like how do you make them stay smaller? Well, I don't have a smog, but you know you should invest in some hot rollers. You would really like the hot rod, so you're gon na have to clip it at the bottom, not at the top roll it all the way down. So it's secure up against your neck you're right make it as tight as you can now clip it. No not that way. What did it so that it's also clipping your hair on your neck, okay, yeah, right, okay! So after struggling through it, I finally got it uh. The bottom was a bit of a struggle. I guess, because my hair is a little bit shorter, but after I got past that bottom row, it's a little bit easier. So y'all, just gon na see me go through my whole head gon na curl it with my T3 curler first and then it gon na instantly or immediately go behind with the ruler and clip the roller down so enjoy this part, foreign foreign foreign foreign. Thank you, foreign, the best I can do with these rollers, I'm not gon na lie. This was not easy and I'm sure it just probably takes practice like once I do it a few times like I'll, probably get it, but this is like literally my first time doing, rollers so yeah. I am going to secure my rollers with a scarf, but I don't even know how to do that sis. So, let's look that up real, quick, all right, so homegirl just went like this yeah, oh what okay, so I'm gon na leave my hair. Looking like this. For probably about an hour or so and then I'm gon na come back and take the I don't even know if the hour is long enough, but the hour is all I have, because I need to go. Take my dogs outside in a second. So I'm gon na leave my hair like this and then I'm gon na come back and um take the rollers out and we are gon na see how this works. If it works in me and honestly, if it did work, I'm still gon na post this anyway. So y'all can tell me what the heck I did wrong because I'm lost all right. Okay, see y'all in an hour all right, so it is about an hour later um, it's dark now, but that's okay, we're at the end of the video. So it's cool! I ended up having to put my Bonnet on because I could not keep the scarf on so I needed something to help secure. I just really hope this comes out. The way that I want it to come out because I'm gon na be so upset. If it doesn't so all right, let's take this off. Please yeah! What is that? What what is this? Okay, so we're just gon na start from the bottom? You know what I'm just gon na take them out and we're just gon na see ya and y'all like. If, if you feel like there's something I could have done differently, please let me know because I feel like I want to make this ow. Why is it all throw under like that? I don't like that. I want to make this a thing like. I want to be able to use rollers to like give me more volume, so if there was something that I could have done better y'all, please let me know okay so boom. Yes, all right y'all! This is yeah, I'm like so scared, because I can't use like. Oh, it came out so good, okay, I can't use like any hairspray or anything because of the ingredients, so I'm really scared to like comb through it, because I don't want it to like fall. You know yeah. This came out so good, I'm so happy. I want to lay my edges down real quick. Let me go get. Can I even use edge control? We just don't use a little bit y'all. This is everything uh. Where has this been all of my life like? Why am I just now using a roller set? I'M so happy and excited with how this turned out, like literally this is about to be my go-to, because I feel like there's something about like using a curling iron that just does not give it this much body, which is why I really wanted to try this Method like this is always what I'm trying to achieve with a curling iron and I just feel like I never really get it so yeah. I'M super excited with how this turned out y'all leave a comment. Tell me what you think. I know I said um. Let me know if there's something I could have done differently but honestly, like I'm So Satisfied with this, I mean feel free to give questions anyway, but I do really like the way that it came out. So thank you guys so much for watching this. Video make sure you give this video a thumbs up, make sure you subscribe. Bri D: My ex also had this issue and we cycled through soo many different products and lines. Natural, plant based, just everything. What did end up working is the As I Am Dry and Itchy scalp line. We’d only oil his scalp twice a month after washing. His scalp and hair flourished like crazy. I highly recommend

Kendra A: I think the best natural hair care line out is Giovanni. They have amazing products that don't contain the ingredients you're trying to avoid and an expansive line of products for every hair type. Now honestly, I don't get fixated on ingredients too much anymore because there are soooo many chemicals that our body absorbs (and releases) everyday that can cause cancer. But hopefully, you find something that works for you, soon!

Jessica Atkinson: The Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight Collection blew my mind. I wasn’t a fan of their products but that line is amazing! It also last awhile to get you through multiple washes b/c you don’t have to use a lot. It has become one of my top 2 at home shampoo and conditioners to use.

ThatsSoLea: 8:15 I get EXACTLY what you mean about hair being so important to you, hair isn’t my everything… but hair is my everything lol. It’s kinda like a “iykyk” kind of thing. I hope you find products that help you, the set came out amazing

Markedalove: This roller set came out so pretty! Great job

Dejah McGhee: Very cute ! I prefer using the old school, foam sponge rollers. Very easy to use & they are also comfortable to sleep in, so your style can last longer without having to use hairspray!

Toi Dantzler: Yesssss, it looks so darn good!!! I can’t wait to try this!

Mrs. Butterfly: I’m struggling with scaly scalp too. I’m changing my diet and plan to try to stress less. Diet apparently affects everything!! Sugar and white carbs all the things we love is terrible for some of us. Hope your find an answer.

Kellie Hickman: Fantastic results!!! And it's awesome that you're using your experience to help others.

M. Elle Cee: I really appreciate this! It’s important to be and get educated. I’ve suffered from the heavy flaking for a few years and NOW I know the name of the condition thank you!

Robin Erica: I feel a curly journey coming

Rita Horne: Her natural hair is always pretty.

Nicole: Beautiful ! I’m going to ask my stylist to try this, I love bouncy and voluminous hair !

Candice Demmons: I struggle too, you’re not alone. I WFH too, so I did a big chop this summer because I was so frustrated (dramatic, I know lol). Only thing I’ve found that works is TGIN. Im here for product suggestions too !

Miyah J: Hmm, I'm glad you talked about this because now I think this is what may be going on with my scalp lol. I thought it was just my body, hair, and hormones adjusting after having my daughter last year. My flakes are mostly at my hairline, but I definitely experienced postpartum hair loss all along my hairline, so it's possible. Idk. I'll be looking out for more content on this. Thank you! And this came out so bomb!!

GlamKay: I really appreciate you talking about this!! I suffer from it too I think!! I hope we find a good set of products to help!

jennhunt1996: It came out so good! I tried rollers with my last silk press. It was an epic fail. I will try again.

KeKe: Your hair came out super cute! You just convinced me to go back to rollers.

Mena Gutierrez: I've had psoriasis for years now and I struggled as my hair is really fine too. However, I have not had a flare up in over two years. I use Nizoral [Shampoo & Deep Moisturizing Conditioner], Shea Moisture [Restore & Repair] etc., As I Am lines, and Head & Shoulders mostly, which has a few different lines also, including scalp treatments. These products have really helped me to keep a healthy scalp and strong hair. I Hope This Helps. You have Gorgeous Hair Sis .

Brand Sandiefor: Omgosh I am too and I feel the exact same way my hair is an art and I express myself through it.. my forehead is discolored from this condition I’m sooo freaking over it and I do have hair loss across my hairline as well.. I did come across someone else saying they tried Candida Freedom probiotic soap with the lemon scent for the scalp and it worked within a week they seen a difference.. whatever you do don’t use apple cider vinegar I just ordered me a bar too see if it works

Keo Kelly: The results are lovely. I would suggest Velcro rollers for ease of use and to help with gripping all your hair.

C J Morris: Come on Mama!!!! I loved her helping you.

Jessica Atkinson: Oh and Twelve12 is another amazing plant based hair care line that works wonders!

Miss Cole: Sis...this is giving everything!!

Leyah Ison: Your hair came out beautiful!

Sahai_j: Girl do it after u wash ur hair and do a wet set. It'll last a whole week n more. I do it for the week with either rods or rollers n wrap my hair at night. You can't tell me nothing. I'd be feeling myself alllll week long lol

pinkhead: I would try to filter what ever water you use to wash your hair too. Can’t hurt! You’re sooooo gorgeous btw❤

Miss Cole: My sister has sebhorreic dermatitis and she has a shampoo and oil from her dermatologist. It works but it seems when the season changes it flares up.

Melanie Avent: This came out soooo good!!

sugamehoney: It came out Gorgeous

Inez Hudson: Amazing!!!!!!!!! I am definitely going to try it. Your hair came out perfectly, I always look forward to your videos. Please if possible try going to see a hair / scalp Doctor, honestly it was the best thing I did ( UK ) my hair density and health has been great it did take time because my hair was growing back in. I was tired of playing a guessing game of products. However 100% all natural products are not bad.... Check for allergies too in food... Looking forward to next video Sis!

Simply Turquoise: It came out so cute! I was worried at first ngl

Jillian Faith: I have this too this condition can be a pain but its cool to find out what works for us. my bf ending up making a shampoo with a lot of herbs and even turmeric. turns out great every time and I don't itch as much or as bad.

Ify Nweke: I cut my hair and I have been obsessed with your videos teaching me how to style my bob

Brittany Carter: It’s like we’ve got the same scalp and hair type, and hair thinning

Kimmy B: Gorgeous ❤️

Camisha Stewart: How long did it take you to fully grow your hair out after your first big chop?

Kimmylovesit: I have the same thing but on my face. I just went to dermatologist last week. Please go they can give you samples to try. As well as piece of mind.

Daiane Barbosa: Brasil Watching with subtitles

Alicia Moore: You should check out the Wild Naturals brand on Amazon!

KatLeshay: Yes, that's seborrheic dermatitis and you can pick the flakes and your hair comes with it I have seborrheic dermatitis, and it has been a journey. I have tried so many different shampoos and conditioners. I will say aloe vera gel (the plant) has been the most helpful. My hair grew fast and it was full. My scalp was the healthiest it has ever been. I stopped because it can be time-consuming, but I would recommend it. Certain oils will cause a flare-up; the overproduction of oils will do that. Stress and foods like dairy can cause flare-ups. You got this beautiful I understand the frustration. Our hair is such a prominent part of us and our identity. Your hair is beautiful and looks extremely healthy ✨️ I would recommend aloe vera plants. You will not regret it!

TLH: To maintain the curls have you tried pin curling your hair after the roller set? That way you don't have to sleep in the rollers at night.

Sashay Salmon: Roller set poppin! You can use a hair net and a bonnet or/and scarf. They use hair nets at the Dominican salon for roller sets.

Violet U R Violet: Hi love your vids, Try Neutrogena T-Sal shampoo it's a clear shampoo...it helped me get rid of my scalp issues and buildups....1 bottle cleared my issue, I hope this helps‍♀️Great vid!!: Also limiting using lots of products also helped me and only using the T-Sal Shampoo on my scalp and keeping all other product off the Scalp, only applying my products mid-shaft from the ears down to the ends only‍♀️⭐

Smitten Kitten: Well I have heard that shakakai oil can be used as a shampoo

debbie gordon: Try TPH master cleanse and never salty scalp scrub by TPH to cleanse and clarify your scalp

Family Guy: Our hair is our crown use a lil texture spray your hair is very soft.

Nathalie Medina: Primer comentario en español!!!!!

Claudia Grover-Cofield: Please see a dermatologist.

Alexis G: People go go the dermatologist and don’t self diagnosed by watching youtube videos.

🌺 Blaque Hippie 🌺: *KEYSHIA COLE ....IS THAT YOU SIS??*

AlsbeanNaturally: All alcohols are not bad for your hair there is actually one that is good for you
