How To Straighten Weave | Mayvenn Hair Review | Diy Sew-In With Leave Out

What'S up youtube fam, it's nicole! Welcome back to my channel in today's video. I want to share with you um my journey with this maven hair. I'Ve been looking for some hair that can last me through the rest of the year, so i don't have to do my own hair or really, you know, do a lot to my own hair. Did some research got some mixed reviews but decided to go with maven hair black owned? So i'm, like you know, let me try it get my own review and then share it with you guys. So i actually got um four bundles um, two all loose peruvian wave. Two bundles of 22, two bundles of 20.. I end up spending 256 dollars and 47 cents, that's with the 35 off stylus appreciation code that they had and me paying 299 for priority shipping, the they ship with usps and it came with this little guide book. So i thought that was cute to you know just kind of give people some tips, especially if you're, not you know, a person who wears weave like that um coming out of the box, the bag did kind of have a stench kind of smelled like fish. A little bit so that was a turn off um, but i kind of want to take you guys through. This is going to be like a three week process of me installing the hair um wearing it for a little while then washing it and um straightening out. So you can see how the hair holds up a little bit over time, so overall shedding was not too bad. A lot of reviews was, like you know, shedding and matting. So i was scared about that. But honestly i expect some shedding with whatever hair i get. It'S bundles, i feel like you, should expect some shedding, but what i don't want is like when i'm brushing my hair, just until i get ready for the day. A bunch of hair ends up on the floor in this case, even when i washed and blow dried. My hair, during that process it did not have. I did not have a bunch of hair on the floor. It was um, probably equal or less than what i would have if i'm blow drying my natural hair. So this is my natural hair. This is my braid down the parts. That'S in the clip is what will be my leave out so overall quality of the hair. It'S okay! I don't like that. I asked for 20 and 22 inches, but, like three inches of each is like dead, hair hair. That'S like no good, so you'll see. Even when i was brushing the hair, it was kind of frizzy and that's like dead hair. So i don't like that and i feel, like all the full length should be healthy, okay, so real quick. I wanted to actually come on screen and show y'all the hair after i installed it. So i showed you how braided this is my hair at the top, and this is the hair brushed out. This is the loose wave the peruvian loose wave. So obviously it looked more smoother when i, when it came out the pack, but when i brushed it you know it became like bigger, which is not a bad thing. Um, and this is like just me, brushing it. There is definitely shedding um. I was scared initially because of the reviews i've seen. I thought it was shed way more, but i feel like i i expected shedding what i'm scared of is matting, which i will let y'all know in a couple weeks, probably a month how it works out. But this is the brush see if y'all can see it's not a hole. I don't even it's not a lot in my hand, but a lot has came out since i started, so i just wanted to show y'all that this is the loose wave and i'm about to style it and then show y'all. The end results. Okay. So this was me um, my last video. This is the hair. You know once i kind of like straighten my hair out a little bit and just rock the natural way for a second. So this is my hair um two weeks later, this is after i co-washed it, so you can see um it's been a little while so i'm gon na do a little silk press with the bio silk um, just putting it all over my hair and the um. The maven hair excuse the edges, excuse the nails if y'all keep the clothes up in the beginning. If you've been following my channel for a while, you know this is no judgment zone. I don't judge you, you don't judge me, that's how we do on my channel. So none of that um but yeah just taking the flat iron and trying to straighten this hair out to see how it holds up. You know straight wise because i know it has like this natural wave once i co-washed it it um. You know the wave was kind of lost, but at the same time it wasn't really like a nice wave and then it wasn't straight so i wanted to straighten it flat. You know make it you know silky and straight and see how it looked. Um, like i mentioned earlier in the video the ends seem a little dead like i'm gon na have to trim this hair. If i decide to keep it in so i don't like that. If i ask for 20 or 22 inches, i expect. All i understand is human hair, but i expect all of it to be um healthy and i would say that this wasn't so i straightened it out y'all. I didn't even really get a good picture of my hair straight because i really didn't like the final outcome, but i still wanted to throw this in here. So y'all can see how it looks straight in um i am debating. So it's now been about three weeks since i've had this hair in and i'm thinking about just go ahead and taking it out um. I might end up using the fourth bundle that i didn't use for this install, maybe to like do like a ponytail. It'S one day or something like that: maybe i'll do a video on that. Let me know in the comments below, if y'all want to see how i do a ponytail using a bundle of hair um, but overall i think that with the 35 off code that they had for me, i think, because i think the initial total would have been Like five, something without the code, so i think that for the price for the discount, it was okay, it's not a complete fail, but i realized i really like my natural hair better than the weave. Even though i wanted a protective style or you know a little less maintenance, it seems like a lot more work. Um overall, i think the maven hair is okay. It'S worth a try, in my opinion, to you, know, see how you like it straightening the hair. Honestly. Wasn'T too bad, but i found that once i kind of got through most of my head, the hair that was already straightened for a while started to kind of like wave up, and so it was getting a little frustrating. I'M just like. Is this hair going to stay straight like it's straightened in the moment, but then i feel like it didn't stay straight. So that's the part that stressed me out and i feel like it wasn't like giving me that flowy blowout, like my natural hair, does oh real quick. I wanted to throw sorry to put this in the end, but they offered the um free, install service and i think that's a great. You know 150 value. I think that's great, but i actually didn't use it, because the stylus that was listed on their um roster for my area, their work did not look good to me. I didn't want to like waste my time. Even it was even though it was free. I didn't want to waste my time going in there um sitting to get this install and then looking like. I got a head on my head when i'm done. I just didn't want to waste that so i told the concierge the person that texts you while you're um, you know to kind of coordinate your appointment with a stylist. I was just like nah, it's cool like first of all the work wasn't that good and then they didn't have the time that worked for me. So i was like no i'm good i'll, install it myself, but i've seen reviews where people are like. Oh, you know they reviewed their install the free install process and it worked out for them, but i wasn't here for the head: look the wig wiggy look, even though i have leave out. I just was like i'm not trying to risk it. So that's something i wanted to point out earlier in the video, but hopefully you stick around for this part, because i had to throw it in at the end. So, overall, with the straight look, i think it came out pretty good. I just don't think it lasted as far as a straight look, and i think that's the part that you know kind of turned me off, so i know you guys are enjoying the hair content, so it's like my channel is starting to move more towards the home Diy projects and natural hair um.
