Hey curlfriends and welcome back In today's video, I'm coming to you guys with a natural hair, protective style tutorial.. I know ya'll are probably so excited because ya'll don't really like extensions too much.. I really wanted to protective style.. I was actually going to add in extensions to this, but I figured you know what, When I started brushing out my hair, I was like ``. I might as well just leave out my own natural hair for this.'', So I've done this hairstyle before, but I've never filmed it for you guys.. I thought that this would be the perfect time to share with you guys how I do my mini braids.. I have not done this since I was about 4 months natural., So it's so cool. Seeing my hair like this now, because when I first did it, my hair was super short.. I didn't have any kind of hang time. Now I can do all sorts of styles and all kind of craziness with it., So I'm only using one product for this entire hairstyle.. My hair was already prepped and styled before I went ahead and did these braids. Go ahead and stay tuned? If you guys would like to see how I got to this point., I'm starting off with freshly washed, pretty much stretched hair.. I went ahead and washed my hair the night before and braided my hair down in to large plaits using my homemade shea butter cream.. I'M just going to go ahead and detangle and loosen out all of the kinks and curls in my hair right now., I'm using a large paddle brush to detangle.. This is going to be a really long and tedious process, so you want to make sure that you're giving yourself the least amount of work as possible. I'm using the end of a rat tail comb to separate my hair into 4 large sections. I'll have two in The front and two in the back. Ya'll already know how I like to section., I'm going to start one section at a time for this hairstyle. All together. This took me about 4 hours to complete about an hour per section.. By the time I was done. The sun was setting., I'm going to go ahead and start with the back section, as you guys can see.. I have my 4 large sections.. I started with the back because I figured that it would be a lot easier since I'm doing this myself. I'll just use the end of the rat tail comb to guide me to create as much straight as possible. Parts.. You guys know that it's really hard to part straight lines on your own head., I'm using one product for this entire hairstyle.. Like I said, I'm using the Eco Styler gold., I thought that it would be perfect for this hairstyle because we're protective styling.. I wanted something. That'S going to not only keep in the moisture in my hair, but also seal my ends so that my hair isn't thirsty throughout the week and a half to two weeks that I plan to leave this in for.. The Eco Styler gold gel has olive oil. Shea butter, black, castor oil, flax seed, pretty much everything that my hair flourishes on.. So this is going to be a great protective style., As you guys can see, I'm just parting straight across using the end of my rat tail comb.. The teeth of the comb is what I'm going to use to guide me to create the little squares for these box braids/mini braids.. If you can get some help, you can get some pretty perfect squares. If that's your thing. For me, I just wanted a protective style.. I didn't really care if they turned out to be perfect squares or not. As long as I got them in my head., I only planned to keep them for about 2 weeks or so., I'm just using the Eco Styler gold to coat my hair strands and braid them all the way down to the ends.. When I get down to the ends, I'm making sure to twirl the ends to seal that braid into place., You don't want your hair to be loosening at all.. You also want a nice polished, finish. You're, pretty much encouraging the curls by twirling or shingling it at the ends and it'll stay for quite some time.. I left this in my hair for about 2 weeks or so.. It lasted me pretty well., My hair got pretty frizzy pretty fast.. You guys know that I live in the south, so it's really humid out here. So hairstyles like this, don't last very long., But I think that this is going to be my go to hairstyle for the summer.. I can't even lie Wash and go's, and these protective mini braids styles are going to be my thing. This summer., I'm really interested to know what you guys are doing this summer, and what do you plan on doing with your hair Every summer, I'm like clueless as to what to do with my hair., It's too hot to deal with natural hair, and I never really Know what to do so I'd love to know what you guys are doing with your hair, this summer., I'm finishing off the final touches for this hairstyle with some hair polish.. This is from Originals by Africa's Best.. It'S just an Olive Oil, polish spray. It pretty much. Just finishes off the entire hairstyle: to give you a nice natural luster and my hairstyle is complete.. I really hope that you guys enjoyed watching me sit here for about 4 hours.. I know you guys are only going to see it for about 5 minutes, but it took me 4 hours to complete this entire thing.. I love my end results and kept it for two weeks. As mentioned before., I just used a daily moisturizing type of spray.. It'S a really light weight spray to spray, my hair throughout the week.. I also oiled my scalp throughout the week to keep my scalp nice and fresh.. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this.. I love you guys and I'll see you guys in the next tutorial. mrsjusttobeme1: I did this on my daughter’s hair and it lasted about 7 weeks. I did wash her hair about 2 times within that time. She loves it and I do too!

w w: My mom used to do these for me when I was little I’m glad they’re coming back

Ashley Pierce: I ADORE YOU FOR THIS! Every time I look at the videos for this they always use weave and it looks good and all but I wanted to know what it would look like with just your natural hair. So thanks again hun I'll definitely be doing this! Plus you now have a new subbie!

JustKenn: This is so pretty to me , love mini braids and twist. Definitely gonna have to not be lazy and take my time to achieve this.

Joyful Lifestyle: I’m so glad I’m not the only one that does this with my hair. Never seen people do it but I love doing this style. It last longer and is easier to care for.❤️

m. southern: That style really fits you

Joi Love: I love them!! I just usually do wash and go’s and box braids. But NOW I’m adding this to my list. So cute! The twist aren’t staying for me.

It's me K In SD: Beautiful...i would keep it way longer than 2 weeks!!!

kendratree: This came out so cute!! I’ve never thought of this, I can’t wait to try it

Courtney Nicole: I love it so cute! I use to wear my hair like this ALL the time in middle school. I'm transitioning now and have been wearing a wavy ponytail for a few months but I'm sick of it. I thought about how would I look as a grown woman with plaits and found this video. Thanks for sharing

Sharon Adams: I love it!! Beautiful and healthy on your Natural hair!!

KALEIDO jess: I usually do twists but I feel like changing it up. I like this hairstyle because during the week I don’t have to do much. Super practical and still looks good. It’s really cute on you. ✨

Bre Price: I tried this and it took me agessssss but the feeling when you’re finally finished

Mommy Cat: I absolutely love these mini box braids! Not too small so it would make take down much easier. I've seen others do it way smaller.

Egypt Vannoy: OMG I totally gonna try this over the summer!

DJ Johnson: So simple, beautiful, and easy hairstyle.

3337: They look so beautiful on you ..great tutorial as well I can see exactly how you are doing it. Thank you

simpliyvonne: Can’t wait to do this . My hair has gotten so long and I’m excited to see how it turns out .

Resha: My mom tried this style on me and it was amazing!!!!! I can style it every day and however thanks for the tutorial NEW SUBCRIBER

Lexa Karlyn Vlogs: I would have all of 10 braids on my head without extensions

Jones Journals: I love this! I’m definitely doing this for my next hairstyle. How long did it last?

Sophia Ayalew: That feeling when you're done

Calm Catalyst: I've been doing this to my hair every week for the past 3 months or so and I'm new to transitioning (the first time I tried I failed miserably) and this is the first time my hair grew and stayed strong at the edges. I've been using cheveux noirs, softee Indian hemp, and softee argen oil styling gel when I braid. It's doesn't look nearly as good as yours but I've gotten used to looking strange because it helps so much. I look like a spider the day after I'm done and it chills after I've done my daily rinces. But it would be nice if it didn't do that in the first place. Maybe I'm just using too many products? Or maybe it's because my damaged hair is still longer than my natural hair. Idk. Maybe I'll try using one product this time.

TruChicky Harris: I'm doing this hairstyle this summer. I didn't know what to do with my hair and I'm about to start a new job and I don't want to be worrying about my hair on a day to day basis so this will be my go-to. Thanks for the video

Beautiful Natural Curls: Beautiful on you and so neat! I can't wait to see do this on my hair.

Ever After: This is beautiful. I'm so going to do this

Quinn Interrupted: Super cute. I'm definitely going to try this.

chkmebu: Super cute! I wish my hair wasn’t so fine so that i could pull this off

akinyi Fiona: Very inspiring, this is definitely my next protective style.❤❤. Lovely.

N Roberts: I can't wait to do the mini twists and braids. I did the bc again so I'm not sure it's long enough. I used to love the styles.

Mulenga Latim: Love them, they look great and so neat

Dahlia Van Dulm: I just did this to my hair last night. I think I did pretty good

Donna Dickerson: Well, I was thinking of doing my hair myself, in single braids...to save money, and my daughter hurts my head when...she ..does it. Lol So I googled, single braids, 4 your natural hair or so, and you came up. Thanks, this will be my summer/if not longer, new hairstyle

lets_gooooo!!!: I keep watching this video. It is the best single braid video I've seen. Sooo tempted to give this style a try

Christelle Labossiere: So good, well done!! Your hair is beautiful

Chinese by Tyler: You did a great job I am very proud of you

Michelle Cutler: Beautiful! I'm not a stylist at all, but gonna try it!

Lynette Wigfall: Gm love that style. And thank you for showing it.

Plush Furr: Eco gold is BAE it leaves my hair soft, no crunch no flakes. Very moisturized

Ms. Royal: This summer I plan to wear my in chunky cornrows. Like 2 to 6 cornrows. Depending on how much I'm up for braiding my own hair. 2 to 3 on lazy days 4 or more on my not so lazy days. And my cornrows usually lasts about 1 to 2 weeks

Kristel K: Good job girl. You look amazing with that style.

jay's studio maison: this was very detailed and easy to understand, i'm gonna try doing this, i hope i have enough patience

Sarai2Sarah: I'm going to try this. I am 4c and embrace frizz. Lol My mom did this when Inwas a kid but really tiny and my hajr was natural and super thick it took forvever to take out. Looks beautiful on you!

Tanta Hapi: Great communication. Thanks for mentioning what the products do for your hair. I’m looking forward to braiding my hair. Thanks✨

Brenda Taylor: I love box braids. Thank you❤️

Healthoverlength: Love! & it’s a great foundation for faux locs

Mandy Miller: Love it! How long will you keep them in?

Yolanda Schartner: It's really pretty! I can't seem to get the braid close enough to my scalp. Thanks for sharing. I'll keep trying.

Chanté Adams: How long did this take? It’s beautiful

Leslie Mckinney: OMG I am so glad that you did this style, I recently relocated to SC from CT and my hair is going through some changes, So thanks a milli

Chioma Eke: So lovely and simple

Naturally KayD: These turned out really cute. I plan on doing wash n gos, two strand twist, and possibly mini braids.

Kavisha Nethmi: Omg!! That is so useful thank u

T Girl: This came out so beautiful sis how long did it take?

Naturally KayD: These turned out really cute. I plan on doing wash n gos, two strand twist, and possibly mini braids.

El Belle: I need extensions to get mine this length...it’s so pretty❤️

GirlSproket: I don't even want to THINK about the takedown time...... Ugh.

Just Me: I thought I was the only one braiding my hair without weave and curling it at the ends. I did learn how to part it in 4 sections because otherwise I would just start in the front instead of the back. I used to use the weave for length until It grew as long as the weave, so now i just box braid it but mine is not as neat and as nice as yours because I am always in a hurry and I dread taking them down, so I don't braid them too small. I also have s problem with my hair being white at the roots. Im not old but my hair is. I wear my hair in braids under a scarf or a wig, mainly a scarf because I don't have a wig that will fit my head lol. but that alright, tell em' toots. Say that's alright! I will be making my own wig because I don't want to cut or color my natural hair.

THE GREAT AWAKENING: Love it!

Ms. Royal: Hi I'm a new subscriber (like I just pushed the button before writing this lol) I love how thick your hair looks and those braids came out amazing

Prophetess Lady Of Wisdom: I know that the video is old but I love your hair& your braids too. I also wear mini braids. They grow your hair like crazy. ❤❤

Loyina310: Damn, I wish I looked this up 3 hours ago. I might've tried this. My summer style is usually two crown braids straight back and pinned up or free hanging 2 strand twists. The heat sucks all of the creativity right out of me.

Fatimata Binetou Sy: J'adore beaucoup ta vidéo et j'ai essayé de me tresser moi même et je l'ai réussi merci pour les instructions

IAmBreaunna: Sissss!! These Look Amazing On Youu!!

mickeyfan08: Thanks for this video I know it may be old but some people just want there natural hair done with out the added stress or tightness of weave I will be doing these as well.

Nelly B.: Sooooo are you coming to do this for me or nah? I ain't got the time lol..

Reno Raised: exactly what ive been looking for you go girl !!

Terri Porter: i will definetly be doing this after i take out this protective style

Amanda Grant: Doing this to my hair today because of Ms. Rona ❤️

no1you know: Do you have a bed time routine for this style? I love it!

Shemelia Nyandemoh: Rly love this. ❤️❤️. Gonna do this.

Amanda Moody: I live in the south as well. I totally understand the heat factor. I have 4C hair and wear a lot of protective styles. I usually do mini twists. The braids are really cute though. Were they hard to take out?

totlicker: this was honestly the best tutorial for me

Néysa C: You did pretty good on them lol. I just finished doing my braids, I wouldn't call them box because I would finger part and some would come out bigger than the others.

Ryenn: Thank you so much for this video :) your name is very similar to mine. Mine is Ryenn

LeenaonSticks: I've been always doing this to my hair bc I like it

zakia: your hair looks so good

CurlyGirlLife: Cute, love the results<3 <3

Paige: sis ur hair is the same length and texture as mine and I'm glad I found ur channel, saved me tbh

Tiki Thompson: Thank you for sharing, most videos include the extensions so I’m glad to have found one

Néysa C: The first time I did a style like this on my head it came out wack. But I think this time, since I've built up my skill throughout the months, I think I'll be good at it

Jasmine Gutierrez: It looks really neat, i like it

Love Imari: I be thinking, “imma just cut my hair off man. It’s not growing.” But watching vids like this is like “I got this.” Your hair is beautiful

La’Tanya Chikamhi: i do this to my hair all the time and it last for 3 weeks

kristin robbs: Your braids are beautiful!!! I wish mine could look like that my hair would look scalpy cause I have fine hair

ilove attackontian: Ima do these but in medium so my sides can grow. Thank u for the protective hairstyle.

Sasha Martin: Love it!!!

Gabrielle Pruitt: Is it best to do the braids on blow dried or wet hair?

Leah Cash: I still have straight ends as my hair grows slowly. just waiting for it to grow a bit longer before I chop them off Can you suggest another way to seal the braids without bands or are bands the only option?

eTeRnAl bLiSs: You did a good job ...and have lots of patience.

Rayla Santos: I really wanna try this. I'm not feeling like manipulating my hair at all. I think I need some style to give me a break.

Nyima Threatt: I think I'll try this even with my shaved sides and back!

LeeLeexD: Had to come and say they look so good!

Alize' Moss: here in 2020, tryna braid for the first time! :)

Taylor Ayers: I have been French braiding my hair are do a headscarf/turban my hair stays so moisturized and it looks so cute and it only takes about 3 minutes once you get it down

Plush Furr: Beautiful

C R: My bff just sent me your link, and now I'm a new subscriber. I have natural hair, and really don't know what to do with it, so I keep braided. Hopefully your channel can give me some ideas. This looks really good on you, but I know I wouldn't be able to do it myself.

Armaka Maxwell: I'm going to do this look on my thirteen-year-old

فقط مشآعل: Soo cute
