Hey everybody! So today, i'm coming at you guys with another installment of sew in basics, with trace, and today i'm going to discuss what an anchor braid is anchor braids are braids that are created for the last track of your sew-in, so, for instance, this would be where the Leave out would be, and the last track would basically go around this leave out section, so you need this set of braids to create a base for your last braid to sit upon. If that makes any sense, you know i've been having a hard time trying to get this video together, because i didn't know how i want to explain this. So just roll with me. Okay, you know work with trace. If you will, this braid is very necessary. These two braids - and i you can do this, however, you choose, but i choose to do it this way. These two braids are necessary because, like i said they create the foundation for which your last track, which is, in my opinion, the most important track, will sit on. You know that last track closes off the whole hairstyle and if that last track, ain't tight, isn't. If it's not uniform with your leave out is not going to look right simple as that, so you have to make sure you structurize your sew in to uniformly and cohesively blend. You know blend together. You want your leave out to cohesively blend with that last track. With with all your tracks, but this last track specifically the last track - is gon na go bam, you're, going to sew it around here, okay, leading me to the next question. I created my braids like this to create a horse shoe structuralization so that we can place that last track. When you think of your the crown of your head, you know bam, but your tracks are going to uniformly. You know come down like so you want to be able to lay your tracks in a way that you know goes with the circumference of your head and if you do the braids just going to the back, it makes it difficult. I know i see a lot of people on here. You know they're, just braiding hair to the back and putting that on a lot of people. Don'T want a net on their hair or a stocking cap. You know it and the stocking cap in a net makes it very difficult to cleanse your scalp in during your sew in life. You know most people not paying a 150 200 for so and leave it in for three weeks. It'S just not happening. Even you, you you paying this kind of money, so your hair will hold up for about two months and in between that two months you got to clean your scalp and you got to wash your weave and if it's a net whole, you know in blocking your Scalp from the air in the water, isn't it is no hell. No, so a lot of people don't want a net or a stocking cap on their sew-in, so they because they can't get to they can't scratch their scalp nothing. So you want to be able to lift your tracks and cleanse them, or you want your stylist to be able to do that for you and she can't do that if it's a net in the way you want to uniformly do your soul in in this manner. You want you want to have braids, that's why people do the circular sew in because it gives you a basically a placement for each track, and you know if your hair going to the back. You have to create those placements for each track and it's very difficult. When you have spaces, because you braided your head to the back now, if you can bring your hair to the back and it's really close together kudos to you, but it's still difficult because your brains are going down. So you you just want to be able to to make this process as simple as possible. When i think of a sew-in, it's not just an old flip of the you know. Night thing you have to do a consultation. We got ta sit down, talk about this! How you want your hair to look, how you want to be able to handle your hair within this three months, because this is the style you know this? Is it so we got to get it together, get the structuralization of the braid pattern together and the anchor braid is important to me, and it should be important to you too, and that's why i'm doing this video? I always do the anchor braid. First always i create that first and all you're doing is creating so you're, probably looking at this like okay. So what do i do with this? What i do with this, you can either sew this onto each other, but, as you can see, the mannequin's hair is really long so because her hair is extremely long, i would have to come up with something else. So what i would do for this person - and just say this - is a person with long hair. What i would do, i would just crisscross it as you have the closure to the anchor um, and i would do this last. I would go on with the rest of my um, you know sew in base. I will go ahead and finish that off and then all i would do is criss cross. This sew it down and this these two pieces here. I would just sew onto the rest of the braid pattern and it's very easy to do. I mean it's very easy to come up with a nice braid pattern after you do this, but i feel like this is important, because if you don't have a nice anchor, you know if you can have all kinds of space. You don't want space all up in here, because if you have too much space in between this braid and your leave out, people don't see it and your leave out might not cover well and it will be lumpy. It could be a whole bunch of stuff. So you want to make sure this is tight and it's very it's as simple as that. So that's how you would conceal that's how i would conceal this in particular, or you can also incorporate this into your sew-in. If you, you know so desire, and that's all up to how you plan on structurizing the you know the rest of your clients sew in structure. So basically that's it. This is a very you know to the point, video for people who didn't know what an anchor braid was why you know why why you got ta, do that you don't have to do it and that's the thing you don't have to do this, but i'm just Sharing with you some tips that i've done so it's not like. Oh i'm, just making this up. I'Ve done this, so it's no big deal. I'Ve done it all myself done to other people, so this is very helpful. This helps you in the closure of your sew. In so when you get to the end, you got a nice this. This your last track bam and you throw, and then you just go ahead and style that down and you're done. Despite what people tell you about cosmetology they i i've had several people say: ain't. No real job - this is a. This is a very creative field and you got to sit down and really get it together to make people's dreams come true. If you got an idea, if somebody comes to you and they like, i want my hair like this, and you got to come up with a really simple way to achieve it, and i don't like sitting here all day like oh, you know this is hard. I don't feel like doing it. No, this is easy. This makes my life a lot easier just doing this first and then going on with the rest of the the sew in pattern, and then you just sew it down, make your life simple. This makes life simple because before i started doing this, it was like this. Don'T really look right, so you have to kind of really think about your sewings. Don'T just do it, don't just be slapping stuff in people's head really sit down and think about this. So this is a a very important part of your sew-in, this braid right here - okay, you know it just is and and think of this think of a sew-in pattern as how you land the tracks. So in your head, when you thinking of how this person said they wanted their hair, they want a deep sad part. You know whatever think of that and think of how okay, how your braids, your braids, are your foundation and your base, and they are what is basically going to help you achieve the sew in look. If your braids are not laying right, your braids are just any old kind of way. Please believe me, your soul, ain't gon na look a hot mess. So that's all i'm saying so that's why i'm doing a series of videos - and i have more sew-in pattern - videos coming up like you know, but i got to sit down and do the pattern so yeah. I hope that i was able to explain this in a way that you understand, because i had a really i recorded this video a few times because it just wasn't making no sense to me. It'S like you just do this stuff, you don't really think about it. So i just wanted to really explain this to you guys in a way where you get it and do it and love it forever and that's it so um. If you have any questions leave down below, if you have any requests leave those down below. Please subscribe to this channel and i'll talk to you guys later bye,

Preettycarmel: aww you made this video on my birthday two years ago... but yes i agree, cosmetology is a job INDEED. People don't know that you have to study anatomy to be a cosmetologist! its more to it than jars and combs.

an opinion: In cosmetology school now, and we won't be learning this. but, it's important to me to know how to do everyone and any type of hair. I've been watching "My Mane Problem" about these hair transformations, and now I'm here, so I can learn anchor braiding! if you come to me, you're walking out crying of happiness, not horror
