https://www.instagram.com/seunokimi/

Are sew ins bad for your hair? Do weaves damage hair? Do sew ins grow your hair? My hair is proof: weaves can help hair growth. How do weaves help hair grow? Well, if done correctly, they make great protective styles which promote length retention, meaning longer hair for you! A lot of people may think that sew in weaves are bad for your hair, but a weave can actually be the protective style you need to grow your relaxed or natural hair long.

Weave 101:

I feel like Sony's get such a bad rap for being bad for your hair, but it's just not true. I I got into leaves, I wasn't expecting it to be as much of a protective style as it is because it they really are protective styles, but I'm not it like for the reason most people get it just so I can have longer hair, but I didn't Realize how much my hair could actually grow from it, because, whenever your hair is braided up in soand you're leaving your hair alone and by leaving your hair alone for long periods of time and not doing anything to it, you're letting the growth that is coming out. Be retained, you're not letting the ends be broken off through styling and damaging things like that. So I don't know why it's such a big myth out there that we's are so bad for your hair. I can understand that if you don't take care of your leave out that it could be harmful, especially if you're straightening it every day, but all you have to do is make sure you're not straightening it too much. I straightened my leave out. Maybe once every two weeks or whenever I wash it and need it to be straightened out, but just take care of it, don't make sure you're wrapping it every night. So you don't have to straighten it. Just and I don't even really oily scalp that much like every now and then you can oil the braids in there, but there's really not much. You have to do and you'll find that your here will grow so much since I started doing weaves. My hair has grown tremendously before I started this. I like watch thousand YouTube YouTube. Videos try to find different regimens to be on that would grow my hair and I found that nothing could work. So it's funny because when I gave up and just like okay, I'm just going to put a leave my hair forget about growing my hair. That'S when I actually started to see my hair grow, so I just want the myth to be gone. That weaves are bad for your hair because they are not so, if you're thinking about getting a leave but are afraid that it's gon na break off your hair. It'S gon na do bad things to here. Just don't believe that get a leave and you'll see that as long as you're, not dumb with it as long as you don't leave it in for like six months straight or straighten your hair every single day, your hair will do fine, so just have fun with It and get a weave if you walk to you.

Cyrious: Boom straight to the point no intros silly faces or long drawn out stories MY KINDA VIDEO

SD: People dont realize that they can have length by simply educating themselves on their hair...whether its natural or relaxed! just subbed!

Lempicka J: Totally agree. I am relaxed and my hair is approaching tail bone length because I use weaves for protective styling - leaving them in for 3 months at a time. This also helps stretch out my relaxers.

Emily Aaron: Sew in weaves do help with hair growth and I also take biotin pills to help with hair (and nail) growth even more.

Steph Toyou: Sew ins do grow your hair. You just have to take care of it.

Julie Mango: Brand new subscriber! Girl, your video has given me so much hope. Just relaxed back my hair after realizing that natural hair is just not for me. Yes I now it grows out of my scalp, I was born with kinky hair. But I was also born naked, and I wear clothes, so yeah. I have freed myself from the natural hair guilt.

Shay: sew ins and biotin pills grow my hair aloooottt. I had my sew in for 2/3 weeks and my hair growth is crazy

Dominique: Thank you for this video gorgeous! I'm trying to grow my hair out with sew ins and I wanted to ask how how long it took your hair to go from the chin/neck length to where it is now from wearing sew ins? Also did you get them back to back? Or did you wait in between?

Gina B.: I didn't use pills to grow my hair when I had a sew in. It pretty much grew on its own. I got about 2-3 inches each time. My hair was long and healthy. I side eye people who have weaves for a great length of time with no growth results.

heavenlyfrosted: Seriously! I grew my hair with weaves through hs but damaged it by heat styling when it was out of the weaves. Ended up cutting off the damage and tried taking care of it with natural protective styles; still hasn't grown back! Time to go back to weaves

Chanel Tolmachov: this is the method I've been using for over a year. I'm on a schedule with my stylist. I barely do my own hair and like you i leave it alone and it's taken off growth wise. thanks for this video I hope more people see that yes, you can get a weave and grow your hair. as long as your stylist isn't braiding your hair tight and you don't keep it in for an insanely long time you'll be fine. :) just subscribed to your channel.

Queen Of Trades: Sew in are my #1 go to for protective styling. I always have at least 3 inch growth every time.

CJSpeaks: Same. I always get the most noticeable and best growth when i protective style each summer with weave. I laugh when people say they break off your hair cuz nahh girl it broke off YOUR hair. Everyone's hair is different.

Liz Renay: i had a sewn weave once... i loved it!

Ty: right people just don't be doing their sew in correctly if their hair is breaking off so bad from it ...without my sewins I'll probably be bald...im backlength now a year and a half after cutting off my permed ends and I do my own sew ins so I can make sure my sewins are done correctly

J. Elixir: I had my weave in almost 5 weeks and I never had to straighten my leave out. And I worked out a couple times. My natural hair doesn’t revert back till it gets completely saturated. So weaves are good for me Lml. The only curly I see is my roots from the new growth. After my hair rest, I’m getting a full weave so I won’t have to dye my hair burgundy.

M501Beauty: New subbie! I'm getting my first sew in soon so I really needed this info Thanks!

StyleCrew Inc: I love protective hairstyles!!!

Mimimilah: so true. My hair is very fine a breaks very easily. Constant styling had my hair so damaged and then I started getting sew-ins and my hair is to my mid back bc Its easy to leave alone and protect from heat and over-brushing it. My only problem is straightening my leave out too much but Its not relaxed and gets frizzy so quick! I always tell people my hair would not be son long without protective styles such as weave!

Ferlina Shey: Yes it definitely grows your hair out!!

Jacquelyn Moore: Thanks so much for the video!!! I realize that's only way my hair can grow too girl!!! I have tried the natural thing but is doesn't grow lol!!!

Prophetess Lady Of Wisdom: I love your glowing complexion. I wear wigs but I definitely agree. Your hair will grow under your weave. Girls hair usually fall out when the braids are too tight or they leave a weave in for 6 mths or longer which is crazy. Oh, you look like the chick from the group xscape

Myisha tanay: yes it grew my hair so much i love sew ins

Linda Tinah TV: Thank you so much for this. I have always thought that was a myth. It also depends on how the weaves are done. Some do affect the hairline no? I am going to be subbing to enjoy more of your ideas on hair. Maybe you can check out my channel too and maybe sub back if you like something. I need to learn to take care of my weaves better though.

TASHEANNA Beauty: you hair is beautiful natural or not it was a number of reasons I decided transition including the fact that I thought my hair would grow faster. Your hair is beautiful keep doing what your doing awesome channel!

poppin: My daughter hair was damaged and fell out so bad because she wears a hat at work. U would think she shaved it in the back but it actually fell out. My niece put a sew in in her hair that hair know it is growing faster than mine and I got braids

Amara Carter: I wish I could meet you I like you so much my hair is pretty long naturally about the length just to my bra buckle but I wanted to grow longer know it has potential I want to go to leave but I’ve been afraid of the stereotype my entire life since my entire life I’ve been told you have such a “good hair” But after watching this video 18,20,22 here I come

Witknee Menyon: They get such bad reps until I tried not sew ins but Senegalese twist I noticed tremendous growth  just in a month! Your hair is beautiful btw

Avery Frances: Your hair is really beautiful. I just big chopped so I'll be weaving it up for a while.

CIC Beauty TV: yes sew ins really do grow your hair I have vid on my healthy hair journey and it's all thanks too sew ins definitely check it out if you can

Ceycie Mateo: Sew-ins didn’t help me! I would get lots of growth, but ends would be very thin when I took it down. I would leave it in 2-3 months. I didn’t take care of my hair just left if alone for all that time

Dajhane’e Parham: yes my hair grew soo much.

Maritza Nisaa: Great video! Just subbed ☺️

Paige's of Beauty: I subscribed Sis!

Keshia Payne:

YoursTruly_1913: Sew in can break your hair if they aren't cared for properly or if worn too consistently for years. Prolonged use or allowed untrained people to do it will break your hair.

Yolanda marshall: Weaves do grow your hair but she has a lot of damage to her hair. If she go to the shop they would cut her hair the part that is damaged

Ama: Is your hair relaxed?

-LixiePixie -: Ok but technically they don't Grow your hair... Just preserves what would be grown naturally in the same amount of time. Growing happens in the follicle under the skin therefor an external thing like a weave would not increase growth, correct?

Sariah Fire: very true

jalissa😎: On (sum) hair not all hair i have a friend she has rlly short hair she wears weave all the time when she took her weave off her hair got wayyy shorter

Faith Williams: How long did u wear the weave ?

Vanessa star: that your real hair wow

bubookitty: How long ago was that "Before" picture?

Chris Opium: Weave will grow your hair indeed but it will bald up your airline and the side , so as result you will end up with BALD PATCH like the BEAUTIFUL NAOMIE CAMPELL !!!!

callmeyollieee: you have really bad split ends

Leilynx: You're ends look very dry and brittle. It's not just about lenght, it's also about good looking lengths and ends.

Lily Rose: My hair is 3 feet long. I never needed a weave to grow it. However being half white has helped. lol! You can leave your hair alone and let it grow without spending tons of money on weave. Why are black women so afraid to have nappy hair?

annette wilcox: This is not true. The length of your hair is genetically determined. Longer strait hair is. Trait of people whose ancestors lived in cold climates so the could get vitamin D better. It’s the same reason lighter skin evolved.Africans living in hot climates with lot of sun got Plenty of Vitamin D and didn’t need straight and light skin to get it. You can grow hair slightly longer but it will not change a person with short hair to 2 foot long hair. More often weaves add stress to the hair folicles and eventually pull all the hair out. Stop trying to have hair like Asians and Europeans and learn to love yourself for who you are.
