♪ ♪: What's up beautiful people, It is your homegirl, Ms. Shameless all up in your building.. Is she rocking the baddie braids? Yes, This hairdo is perfect for summer, especially when you're sweating, and you don't want to deal with your hair.. Your scalp gets to breathe and your neck can breathe too, if you just pin it up.. But this is perfect if you have short hair long hair.. I have extensions in here, so I'm going to show you how to braid the extension in and you're going to get a nice arm workout, while you're at it. But anyways. Let me break it down for you. Okay You'll need some tools., So let's get into it.. Okay, you're going to need a few products. Hair for braiding., I'm using Kanekalon, which is a synthetic hair.. You'Re gon na need two packs of these., I'm using a styling product, more specifically edge control. Comb --. You can use your regular comb or a rat-tail comb.. Two mirrors, because you're going to need to see the back of your head to see what you're, doing. And either hair ties or clips. Also a little tip. When you have your hair extensions, I suggest dividing the sections first.. You don't want to do this when you're braiding, because your arms are going to be all sore and stressed out., But I'm going to go ahead and section these off and hang it in places that I can easily grab to add to my hair., I'm starting on Freshly cleaned hair.: You want to get super clean., You want to get into the scalp, because you are going to be rocking these braids for a little bit and a little tip is to not use conditioner, because when you condition the hair, it makes it soft, and I find that the hair slips out of the braid.. Then I'm going to section my hair into two, even sections down the middle., I'm going for eight braids., You can go for two., You can go for six.. Six is actually a good number, but I went with eight.. This is why I say: use clean hair because clearly I didn't scrub hard enough.. That'S what happens. My hair flakes [ ph. ] And I'm using my hair ties to keep the hair out of my way.. Get out of my way: trick. I'm gon na again section my hair into hair ties. And I'm using my edge control, especially in the front., And then I'm going to pick up my own hair with the synthetic hair.. So you need to know how to braid first.. But as you can see, I'm adding my hair to the synthetic hair. Picking up as I go along with my index finger., Let's take a closer look., I'm going to use this white synthetic hair. So you can see what exactly I'm doing., I'm wrapping the synthetic hair around my hair as such. See that Now I'm going to use my index finger and pick up some of my hair into the hair extension.. So now I have some black and some white. And that's what holds the hair onto my head by adding my hair onto the extension. As I pick up., That's the difference between singles and cornrows.. These are rows of corn in the corn fields., Hence cornrows.. But again, I'm just picking up adding my hair with my index finger and pulling up and around.. I don't know how else to explain: this. It's just best to watch. Okay. I have this chunk of my hair without any extensions. So it's just my own hair. I'm going to go ahead and add extension to that., I'm placing it in my pinkie finger and I'm wrapping it around with my hair. I'm picking up as I go along. And when you add the synthetic hair just make sure it's Really tight, so it doesn't loop.. If it's loose, the hair will stick up. The loop will lift.. You want the loop to stay down.. So now going back to real time where I don't have that white hair, although you can use different color synthetic hairs, and I have a video on my cotton candy version in the info box below.. This is really good for beginners, especially so you don't see that much of the flaws by adding hair that's the same color as your own., And this is a workout and a half for those arms.. So again, just adding and making my way down picking up hair, as I go. ♪ ♪ And you're gon na braid, all the way to the tippity-tips. That way it doesn't unravel as easy. And you're basically going to do the same thing. However, many more times for the braids that you have. And again, I'm going for eight., So I'm going to do this seven more times. And it's just parting keeping the hair separated by putting it in sections ..., Braiding tip. I found it was helpful when I took smaller sections of hair extension and added those to the front., And I got thicker, as I moved my way from the front of the braid to the back, and that gave it more of a real look. Because it's going from thin to thick versus having a really chunky extension right off the top. ♪ ♪ Also I found it was easier for me --. I don't know about you, ladies with curly hair --. I found it easier to braid when my hair was damp.. So I just went ahead and dampened my hair with some water.. Now this process took me an hour, possibly a little bit more.. It will probably take you longer. And here again I'm adding synthetic hair on the piece that doesn't have hair.. So if you notice that one of your hair doesn't have an extension in it, go ahead and add synthetic hair to that. And with the sections of hair, you want to gauge it., I'm using half a quarter of an inch half an inch of thickness of hair And I've added, maybe three to four pieces in my braid. I would say four. And I went ahead and added four chunks of extension in my hair. And it might take you a little bit to get used to it. But when you do get the hang of it, you'll know when to add it.. I try to add most of the extension closer to the front of my head. And once you are done braiding, you want to boil some water to seal the ends of the braids.. So you just go in there and maybe soak the hair for about a couple minutes.. The heat does mold the hair. So you want to make sure you straighten it out there with your hands, as I'm doing here, ensuring that it is nice and laid. And there you have it.. Those are the cornrow baddie braids.. All you need is a few packs of extensions and bam, Get them baby hairs laid.. I use the Eco Styler gel and, of course, a mandatory toothbrush. And those cornrows are on fleek girl., Yes, And that my friends is how you cornrow them braids and be a cute lil' baddie.. If you want to know how I got this bronzed glow, it's quite simple: actually., It's two fingers and some coconut oil.. This is a little inside joke. And make sure you guys like this video and comment below, and let me know what are your plans. This summer., Are you guys going anywhere exotic? Let me know. And subscribe to my channel., I'm almost at 1 million subscribers Woohoo Until next time. Remember to do you, be you and stay true. Boo. Be shameless., ♪, ♪,

Mz Kegz: great video! I can braid but I still can't figure out adding extension. This video gives me confidence to try it

Kaya S: So I'm mixed and my entire life I've whitewashed myself (especially in elementary school) cuz people would make fun of me for having interracial parents. I'd never go outside because I didn't want to tan (I'm literally as pale as a ghost now) and I'd always bleach my hair and straighten because I wanted to be like one of the pretty blonde white girls at my school. Now I'm trying to embrace my culture and I really want to try braids/cornrows but I'm kinda afraid cuz of how white I look. I'm starting to get a bit darker but I still look super white and I'm so afraid of culture appropriation. Do you think it's ok for me to try this? I really want to and my dad really wants me to as well cuz he's happy I'm trying to embrace my Jamaican side more but I'm just a little nervous. My friends told me that they can tell that I'm mixed now but idk I'm still worried Oops this is long so no ones probs gonna read it but it's worth a shot:)

elvira escalante: i love this kinda braid! my sister always make them in my head, but since i dont have that texture in hair doest look the same, im gonna tell her to try this... btw, how do you do to not use an elastic at the end of the braid??
