The Hairoine Presents: How to Braid an Asian Person's Hair...With Extensions. Because, many of you have asked me to make another video showing how to cornrow, here it is!

Music: Mint Royale (Singing in the rain)

And for this video installment, I'm going to show you how to put extension in care, so my model today is actually from Korea, so I'm using her to show you that anyone can, with their hair it's just a matter of following the method I'm going to try It with step by step, but you can watch it again. Okay, I was so before you start braiding. You want to make sure that the hair is separated into sections so that you don't get any stray away. So make sure you have your rubber bands and your clips, and you know you want to be able to separate it so that the hair doesn't get in the way. As you can see, I already started. I did the first one here, so I'm going to continue and show you how to do it. So I traced it. I traced the line and then I put a little bit of gel and the route so that you know if the kids have a stronger, firmer hold and then I take a piece of hair, so yeah there's much and so what you want to do is you Take it in between your thumb and your index finger like this right at the middle, so right at the middle and then what you do is from the hair. That'S already separated. You start at the front with your index finger and your thumb still connected and then you're going to flip one in half. So you see how this is one if this has been split into two right. So now you have three one, two three. So from that. You still keep your thumb and your index finger in the middle, and you have you have this split into two, and so you take your middle finger and you put it in the middle like this, where it's please quick! So now you get as close as possible to the siddell right. So now you pick the other hand and you take your index finger and your thumb for one strand of the hair. That'S been separated in half and then so now, you're holding it like like this. So you have your index finger and your thumb on one piece, your middle finger and your forefinger and another piece and you're still holding it in the middle from the original. So now what you do is where you have your index finger and your thumb, you take the hair, so you take her hair with that and you mess it into one. And then you take the index finger and the thumb where it's in the middle and you go underneath and then you proceed to parade. I have other videos on how to braid, but this I just wanted to show you that. That'S how you you started. That'S how you get the knot so once you have that you can just start braiding really make you sure, though, that your hand stays on the Scout and you just continue to braid. Just following that rhythm now other people, they have different methods of doing it. I don't know this is the method that works for me. You know you can try other methods, but you know I find it. It is extremely so if you can see that there's some here that didn't actually catch. So what I do is I unbraid it a bit because I'm a bit of a perfectionist like that, I unbraid it and then I start again making sure that I take in all the hands because you want it to look as you as possible. So you continue like this: let's ensure that your hand stays on the scalp. Hopefully I'm not doing it too tight. Am i doing too tight? That'S okay, yeah, okay, yeah, some people, you know their hair might be their Scout - might be a bit sensitive. So you know you don't want to do it so tight because you don't want this doubt to hurt and you don't want there to be any bumps and things like that, so you keep braiding all the way to the end, making sure that you braid the braid. All the way, otherwise it will unravel and then all your hard work will be lost so make sure that you braid it all the way or that you put a rubberband at the end of it or not or, and you put a rubber band at the end Of it so that it doesn't unravel and we've all had, that's how you do it we'll come back for the end visa okay. So let's do this one more time, just to be sure that you know how to do it. So again you have the hair. You put your index finger and your thumb on your right hand in the middle, and then you take one strand and you separate it into two. So now you have three strands, one: two and three okay, so you have a three strand with your middle finger in the middle of where you've separated the one strand into two and then you put your hands on the scalp and you take your left hand and You take your forefinger and your middle finger and you put it you put one hair in between and you take your index finger and your thumb and you put another hair and you do that. So it looks like this. Then you take the hair from her hair. The original hair and you mesh it into one, and then you proceeded to braid and we do it in a rhythm making sure that you keep your hand on the scalp. Now she had bangs, so I tried to take in the bangs, incorporate it into the whole braid and you just continue and voila. If you have any questions, just pop me, an email all right see you later, okay, so I finished fat in her hair and now we're just gon na. Do the final touches. So it looks nice and ready to go out. So what you want to do with the ends, since I cornrowed it all the way down to the end, I'm going to burn it so that way it doesn't unravel and to burn the hair. All you do is yeah make sure that it's from the same side and then you just take a lighter and yeah. You apply it to the hair. This is synthetic hair. It'S Kanekalon, so nothing's gon na happen to it. You'Re not going to burn down the house or anything, but let's make sure you're careful and yeah, so you just burn the ends until it falls off yeah like that, be careful, um yeah! That'S how you burn the

Veronica Lin: how long did it take to braid her hair?? does it hurt??? how long did it last??? I'm getting my braids done today :)

Connie: You did such an an amazing job and she's a beautiful model!

Black Nuerodivergent Mom: You did a great job. I braid also and it is always helpful to see others techniques! Thanks for making the video:)

Aelionorable: Love it, you did a great job and your friend looked cute with the new hair do. I just wish the ignorant people would shut up about who can and can not have their hair braided. I believe it doesn't matter what color you are, you should be allowed to have it straight, curly, braided, dyed green with purple polka dots sprayed on for all I care, as long as you enjoy it.

AAEA: Oh man, thank you soooo much for this video. A friend of mine likes the way I braid hair (even tho I'm a newbie on braiding myself lol). And she asked me if I could braid hers, and I had no idea how I could braid on straight white hair (tho this is Asian hair, hers is as bone straight). And the details in this vid are going to help me immensely. I swear I learn so much on YT.

taahmakay: Thank you for that wonderful tutorial. Your model is pretty and her hair looked great in the "after" picture. :)

saracith: thank you so much!!!! I have three girls who are mixed and this helps so much. I din't know how to catch their hair with the extensions. You are a life saver!

Misslelitina: I love your tutorial coz' it is the first one that I can find on the web on which I can SEE how you BEGIN, witch is the most difficult. So thank you a lot. But I would like to ask you a question: is it the same technic if you just want to braid the hair with extensions but not to do cornrows (I'd think the only difference is that if you want to do what I ask, tou have to make square parts of hair first but for the BEGINNING it is the same technic so that it is really secure; is it?)Thx a lot

Michelle Thorne: Thanks for this. Could you show us how to do the invisible cornrows where you can't see the knot? Thanks

The Hairoine: Thanks. I've seen a couple different methods, but this one comes the most natural to me.

Grace: How do you get the braids to pop out like that? It looks awesome! Is French braiding and cornrowing the same thing?

PalmBeachNative20: Thanks for making the video. i think im gonna try it this way. I was tryna start with natural hair first and gradually add hair in but it was confusing.... could you make a vid like that. I would so appreciate it!

xoxopeacebringer: she looks soooo beautiful with those braids, you should persuade her to wear them more often

agny martinez: Omy, you make it look so simple ....so cool!

Hauraunah: Well it has to be long enough to get a good grip on it, but that depends on how good your hairstylist is. The short your hair, the harder it'll be, so if you're working with and inch, or half and inch, it is doable, and some might even be able to grab on centimeter length.

The Hairoine: You can mix the aloe vera gel with flaxseed gel (I have a video showing how to make flaxsee gel).

ikilledyou: Wow! Really needed this. Thanks! Also Mint royale singing in the rain in the background - awesome.

royalfair: you know wat i needed was exactly on this video!!! thank you sooooooooo much i just needed the knot!!! thanks...you dnt know how much this helped!!!

MC: Awesome, really helps! :D

TheHealing Willow: She looks really good. I know this is an older video, but I hope she kept the look.

leann38106: you did a great job keep up the good work

Stancia Rosa: Why’ll, I learned your method today. Excellent. Perfection is the best with your methodology. Great job.

babiesmama23: i like this it helped me alot. cause i braid also and love to do hair.cut color weave and all. love it thanx

imready494: it was all good steps except the burning part, i had my end burned and it was hard and noticable and it hurt when i hit ppl with it lol, ill just stick to hot water on the ends but this was a good lesson thanks

brennaomi: u cld also braid with smaller pieces first and keep adding larger pieces to get rid of the knot at the beginning of the braid and it also eliminates any spaces

Shék Glam Hair TV: Hey, i just wanted 2 tell you that your video was very helpful and i really enjoyed it....You were a Blessing, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Golder Claire: this was so usefu and helpful thanks

Suki Lee: omg!! This is freaking cool!!!!!! Imma try this with my girlfriends ^_^

Sham.r.a: The braids look neat. Personally i like my braids small and I think there is too much hair added to the braid.

navyman4: An Asian girl.....with BRAAAAIDS...I'm in love!

The6thEdition: How long would it take to braid an asian person's hair that reaches the bottom of the shoulder blade and without extensions?

mdotschrody: Omg I've been wanting braids so long. I wish you'd called me to be the Azn model lol.

Hailey Cole: Please can you tell me the extension was human hair or synthetic? How long does it lasts? and how do you take care of your hair like this?

Alex Mul Joha!: If I have Asian hair and want to get cornrows, what type of hair salon should I go to?

604tommy: I'm an asian guy how long does my hair have to be to get extensions and cornroll my hair?

MizzGlass: how do you know how much synthetic hair to use?

Black Akita: @daoquynh29 Yes, by the time you get to the end of the hair, none of YOUR own hair is in the braid

amanahill7: Yay, great vid and Korea is an awesome place.

isabella browne: how long would that style last for ?

sherforlife1: good job, 1 question as a beginner would human hair be much easier to use on a black person natural hair for better result ?.

Magic Style Haarflecht-Atelier: @cleanhomer Asian hair is mostly very very straight and thick (the individual hair is very thick). If you would cut through asian hair and look at it under a miscroscope you would see it is perfectly round (round = straight), curly or kinky hair is more or less rectangular shaped.

copkim: Your vids rock!

missp2513: How long can she keep these in? Just asking because Asian hair is really straight...I'm curious if they slip out or not.

mimes30: ur explaination of how to start off was kind of confusing, but i like your technique and i kno that everybody has their own way of braiding because i braid hair too and i have a different method. Over all very good video and the braids are very cute.

Chemical917: how long can it hold?

A Holland: wow. her hair is awesome!! Oh i wish u could do my hair. is it possible to have a short fringe in front for this type of style???

Things That I Happen To Post Online: Your hair sounds like my sister's she secures her cornrows with those little black hair bands they sell for kids at the beauty supply.

TJ Pluto: do you really need extensions??? i'm thinking of finally growing my hair again and putting it into cornrows... but do you really need'em? and i'm asian too

PutRandomNameHere: It made her hair longer. So yes, it was a kind of hair extender.

Indigo Bleu: love it!! Not just black people get braids! =]

Unique_desu: IF YOU CAN DO ONE TYPE OF HAIR YOU CAN DO THEM ALL

lorrilorelle1: My question is this: I am Native American, and have similar hair to Asian, except mine is quite thinner because I am older. My cornrows are OUT by the end of the week because I don't know, it's just lifeless hair that doesn't wan to DO or cooperate with anything except regular free braids. What can I do to keep cornrows in my head?

lovp6uis: now, how much would that cost in a normal hair saloon?

moul777: i guess anothe way i wana ask my question is. is it with extentions or without extentions that require shorter hair for cornrows/

Eve Chantelle: that actually looks pretty cool.

BlaqFrost Ikigai: I agree with you 100%.

Liz De La Cruz: ow your good !!!! 5 stars , i think im trying that on my bf .

bajankim: how do you put on the singles ones

anfurny88: what about really short hair above the neck?

Zohra Hussain: @iluvninja1 no. cornrows are small like shown above. french braid is thicker amount of hair

hawaii 071: Asians dont need any add on hair, but it looks nice!:-)

moul777: i just shaved my hair bald it was five years grown lol i know stupid but what i wana know is im growin it back and wana know whats the minimum length my real hair can be to use this technique, i can cornrow my own hair and i just got your technique down. please let me know

amanahill7: She looks great before and after, but even better after.

jess1541: @Chocolatelover123 I'm Chinese myself and I've been thinking about getting my hair braided for a while.

Allen Evangelista: How long does my hair need to do cornrows??..well I'm an Asian guy..hahaha

mercapto5: WOW...the way ur fingers were working...its impressive! :)

hua cua: Omg, you're so good. Do mine.

Blues Baby: I Pretty sure she doesn't. She uses it to burn the ends of the hair so that it doesn't unravel.

Sp: she looks super cool with cornrows loll

Maci's day: She looks cute in those braids.

alynettegsu: Yes under a microscope a person of Asian descent hair-strand is completely round, like a straw, whereas someone from African descent hair-strand is flat like a piece of ribbon. This makes the the difference in textures.

BlaqFrost Ikigai: Thats kool, do you have a video showing how to braid black male hair? And what is that song called that is playing in the background? Sounds kool.

jaysana brown: too cute!!!!!

MaDuke: it lasts longer with the weave.

frank sinatra: my asian friend wants to get cornrows. he was wondering how long hes hair has to be to get cornrowed WITHOUT extensions??

DukhtareKabuly: wow... ur great.. wish u were my friend n do my hair too... really want braids in my hair.. but too expensive if i get it done.. n cnt do it myself :'(

Madelyn Coutee: thnks i tried to do it and i didnt get it quite rite but now i got it thnks

Wastemgmt: her hair looks dopeee

Blues Baby: i agree with u 100% 2008 moving on to 2009 at 12:00 tonight come on people we can't live like this.

MizzGlass: at least 2 inches long, i think. I know some people who can braid 1 inch hair

shiroirobin: wow u friend look stunning with the braided hairdo

Trina: i'm 12 and braid amazing

Angela Burse: your right there are different ways mines is different but great video

seshilsucka -: are these called cornrows?

MusicRules4Us: you are a pro!! you do it like africas!!

Kelly Escamilla: asians are awesooooome!!!

Zohra Hussain: french are done over the braid. cornrows are done under

Athena: she looks badass (:

BMecca: She's burning the SYNTHETIC hair NOT the girls hair. Burning the ends prevents the braids from unraveling.

MsPanda: I've always thought Asians and Blacks look good in braids. Even though the style originated in Africa.

hollyhollyrose: Wow! That's fly!

BRKS172: Because we love everybody.

Irene Johnson: wtf, I didnt know they burn ur hair off?

jay smith: your really good

Tokio2k: Your model is very pretty

frank sinatra: how about polynesian people?

The Hairoine: Thanks.

Salma Abdullah: @DaCatOnTop it was the synthetic hair ends...

kmanmoney065: what if her bangs were out and she had the cornrows i think that wud be cute(on mah big pros account cant ruin his rep :3)

Nehemiah Jandroep: cool!
