How To: Apply Tape-In Hair Extensions! | By Tashaleelyn

Please read the disclaimer below.

I no longer reccomend Zala as a hair extension brand. From a personal experience as well as being told by countless subscribers, I will warn you that they have terrible customer service. Although I did love the product I would suggest that if you are looking to get yourself a set of extensions look up different brands. I will leave this video up because it is an informative beauty video - but I no longer support Zala personally. Thanks guys! Love ya.

I hope this was helpful to any of you considering getting some tape-ins! I love love love them, and they are absolutely perfect for summer (swimming, all that)! Leave any questions you have down below! Love you all! Happy Saturday! xo

Hi everyone welcome back to my channel as a lot of you guys know. Recently I decided to put tape and extensions in and I decided to film it for you guys. So hopefully, this video shows you how easy it was for me and maybe gives you a little inspiration as well. So the tape ins that I chose to use are the Sala hair extensions. These are the European tape and hair extensions. They are 20 inches long. I got mine in the color Ice Queen platinum blonde because of course we're going to end up dying than my usual pink and I got two packages as you can see right here. Each package has 20 pieces, so in total I will have 40 pieces on my head to complete this application. You'Re going to need a brush. This one is from Missoula. It is actually a hair extension brush, so it's less harsh on the hair. I'M also going to be using a comb which has this fine pointed end just so that we can lift the hair up a lot easier before we get started. I just wanted to draw your guys attention to these two extensions now Zala is on the left and another leaving hair extension brand is on the right. I just wanted to show you how thick from root to tip they actually are. So you can see that this is extremely thick. I mean a lot of hair extension. Brands tend to thin out towards the end. I'M over-the-moon happy with the quality of these extensions, okay, so to get started, you're going to want to section off your hair, I'm just doing a middle section right now and then I'm going to go in and do a smaller section at the bottom. Basically, what you want to think is: if you're going to be wearing your hair up with your tape and extensions, you want to have enough hair that when you put it up you're not going to see the tape ins that you put in, so I obviously thought That this was a pretty good amount now each Zala tape and hair extension has a piece of tape on one side. So what I've done is I've gone ahead and peeled that piece off and then I've taken my little fine-tooth comb and kind of just attached it to the bottom of it just so that it's easier to put in place. So I'm applying it just right. Next to the root, and then I'm just pressing that down with my finger and then I even press it down a little bit harder so that I can remove my little comb once you've got that done, you're going to go ahead and take another piece and take The tape off of it and then you're going to go ahead and place it on top of the other piece. I place this one on with my finger, but you'll see later in the video that I realized. It was actually just a lot easier to use the comb just because you can get it like more exact. I also wanted to let you guys know that this is just me doing them. It was a little bit hard. You can see that I have four mirrors going on. I have one on each side of me, then I have my camera and then I of the mirror in front of me. So it's not the most perfect application, but no because I have now had these extensions for quite a while that it's not a huge deal you're, not really seeing it didn't really affect anything with how I did my hair, so just do to the best of your Ability I'm just taking another little section placing that down and then I'm going to apply another row of the extensions okay. So when it comes to doing the side extension, do you guys saw that I just put a regular one in, but when I got closer to my hairline, I wanted to just cut them in half that way. When I move the hair around the front of my face, it's easier for them to move around, so I just applied a couple of really small ones and when I got really close to the front of my face, I just checked to make sure when I put My hair in a ponytail that you weren't actually able to see it because I obviously love wearing my hair up, so I just want to make sure that everything worked out. Another great tip to know about is, if you want to make sure that the glue is really set and you can use a hair straightener and just put it on the lowest setting and then just clamp the tapes together, okay, and so here is the final result. I hope that this video was helpful and informative for you guys, especially if you are considering getting tape and extensions, thus far, I've loved my tape and extension experience. It'S just so nice they're so light. If you guys are interested in getting your own set of zola, hair extensions, you can use the code Tashia 10 and that will give you some money off. If you have any questions about these hair extensions, please feel free to leave a comment down below, and I will get back to you if you're interested in how I dyed these extensions pink, you can go ahead and click the video in the left-hand corner and that Will take you right to it? Thank you guys so much for watching, and I will talk to you soon. Bye, guys,

laykon e: Your usual pink always looks amazing, but I love the platinum on you too <3

Jennifer Adams: The color honestly looks so good on you. This video is so great, you also put them on so well, really going to help me!! I have ZALA clips and tapes and they are both so good. I am literally that happy with them. They are really really thick from roots to ends and look so natural. Honestly they blend in so well, and have such a nice shine to them. In all honesty i think they are a really good brand unlike many others. ill be a customer for quite a while now haha.

Olivia Bartlow: love love love this color. Wish i could reach this color, my hair is too dead to do this though haha. These extensions genuinely look so good on you and i am so happy others love ZALA's too. The quality of the hair is literally a A+ outstanding, thick and NO knotting which is the best part, so happy, i love genuine brands

Johnnie June: This video was very well done! Thank you so much for the tip about cutting the extensions in half for near the front of your face! Very helpful :)

MyLuxury1st Hair, Pigments, and Apparel: Great installation and great tip with the flat iron! I use the flat iron every time!

sophdoeslife: These look amazing! So natural looking <3

Rhianon Annie McDowell: This is by far the most helpful diy tape in video I've seen! Can't wait to do this for my bffs wedding in May!!

Winter Williams: Thank you for this! I'm about to get my Zala tape in extensions any day now and I'm putting them in myself. How many rows in the back did you do, and how many pieces did you put on the sides?

Dechen Wongmo: @Tasha Leelyn Girl, GIRL, G-I-R-L these look amazeeee! What I love most about your videos is that you always introduce brands that are on point, and dependable; with the most detail oriented tutorials and demos! ♡ they are the bomb.com on you!

Annie Smith: Seriously so gorgeous, they look so good on!! I got my zala extension a few weeks ago and i love them. They are just so great, thick soft and nice. Best purchase this year so glad i spent my money on them

Bronte Williams: The hair looks so good on you. You are so chick and fun. I literally am so glad i have ZALA extensions the team there are so professional and nice. I love the color you've got going on. All of the colors that zala have are so natural and perfect, mine blend so well like yours. So glad i have zala extensions

Yoga by Abi: These look SO good! I'd never heard of tape in extensions before, desperate to try them! <3

Jenni Carter: I love the color and length on you it really suits your skin tone. I used to have Zala tapes and i did really love them when i had them as the quality is great. I'm back to clips now though and still with zala. Everything they produce is amazing, and outstanding quality. Value to quality is spot on too. So glad im with zala haha honestly. Keep up the good videos, i love them.

lifestwists andturns: I used rapture tape in for 4 years and can honestly say it's one of the best and least damaging methods and I'm a hairdresser x

Ness!: Wow they look so natural! So beautiful :)

Katie Johnson: I have 2 questions : How long do they last in your hair? Did you cute them or do that already come like that? (blunt at the bottom)

Mykayla B: Thank you so much dude! I've been looking for extensions forever! I'll hopefully be ordering these today! Question though, How long do they last?

Samantha Lynn: You are a life saver. I've been looking for a video like this forever.

Ashley: I just bought these extensions yesterday finally after watching your other video mentioning them. I'm not a fan of clip-in extensions so I'm hoping I'll like these! I'm so excited for them to arrive! I actually ended up getting the 20" (40) in ice queen as well so I'm happy to see roughly how mine will look in! Your hair looks so beautiful and thank you for the tutorial, it's gonna be a lot of help when they come. :)

Jessica Martina Avalos: I love how this hair is fine/ thin in texture. I have some clip ins but the hair texture is thicker than my natural hair so it's harder to blend. Does anyone have any brand recommendations for TAPE in extensions with european hair, or a thinner texture (thinner than say, belami or foxy locks)? Thank you!!

Yun Ni: Good job ! keep us updated ☺️

katietang50: Doing your own hair is hard. I have to give you two thumbs up hun! I do my own hair to save money.

figuremeowth: When you take them out do they damage your real hair? Does it rip your hair? These are so cool!

Kasey Lettrich: you look so beautiful :) how long can you generally keep the tape in extensions in for? xoxo

Bri Bullard: I've been spending $200+ on getting my tape ins removed and put back in every month and it's seriously been breaking me. How have the zala extensions been holding up? And are they quite easy to put in and take out yourself? Really considering doing it myself

Ashley Cole: Hey ladies, here’s a tip with tape ins. But suavitol fabric softener at the store to remove them. It works so much better than the remover meant to dissolve the tape and is much easier on your hair. Plus, it smells nice too

Kassandra Reaume: Thanks it was a super helpful video! Where do you get the new adhesive to replace the sticky part on the extension after 6-8 weeks??

Star Hill: Any recommendations for super curly haired people? My hair is extremely curly, so I fear using tape-ins and glue in extensions, because after washing the hair won't match. I feel it would be really hard to flat iron my thick afro if I had extensions in my hair. Any tips would be wonderful. These seem way nicer than clip ins. :)

daraxrin: how long do they stay in your hair? and can you reuse them? (:

Sarah Chrzanowski: How long do these last before they start getting super tangled and extra matted 24/7? It usually doesn't take very long with the clip ins...

Chelsea Rodriguez: I'm been watching and re-watching this waiting for my zala tapes to come in Ahhhhh Im so excited

Shannon M: How long do you keep them in before you remove them? X

Porsha Richie: They're so perfect! But I have a few questions like are they uncomfortable or hard to work with? Are they worth the money? And how long are they going to stay in? Please please let me know! Love your channel by the way :)

Jhen: I was watching your more recent videos and I think I remember you saying you took the tapes out. I was a little curious about tape ins and your experience with them compared to clip ins. I've been using clipins for three years now and am researching tape ins since I usually use clip ins daily. I'm getting a little tired of the heavy weight of the clips on my hair and heard that tapes are really good for that. I was wondering though about the shedding. I know clips shed but do tapes shed as well? Also I was curious if it's hard to take the out and retake them yourself or if it's easy to ruin the bonds of the tapes when trying to replace the tape? It'd be great if anyone had an answer to my questions haha :) LOVE YOUR CHANNEL BTW ❤️❤️

Hannah Adams: How long do they stay in your hair for?

Sam B.: Question. When you first apply these, wearing them for the first time ever, do they bother you while sleeping? Do you find that your scalp gets sore at all?

Chloe Dale: Very nice!! Can you do a video on you taking them out? Was it easy to take out? Was your hair still in good condition? x

Anita C: you look awesome blonde girl!! i know you had pink recently though - does it wash out really fast? i'm considering going pink & i'm wondering if it's a lot of maintenance

Patience Cole: looks really nice!! I may try them!

Dread Knot: Sides (ears) should be applied at an angle to make updos easier and more natural. :)

Hannerr B: I was so surprised when you said they were zala extensions! Go Australia! I had mine put in professionally which was a waste of time since she managed to put some in back to front! So i had the sticky stuff on the outside. Took about a week until i was like OK WHATS GOING ON?? They were surprised at the quality and how much i paid for them too, zala are amazing look forward to the removing of them video, i didn't have a pleasant experience ):

Ellie: How long do they last? I heard they can last up to 6 months. Im going to order mine once I get some money. Glue in extensions have been horrible for me! Do they leave any residue after you take them out?

iamcharlottexxx: I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!

Tayla Louise Armstrong: could you do a review on zala's clip in extensions too? :)

kiaraskies: Tasha, did you change anything about your shampoo/conditioning routine with these tape ins? I've ordered a pair and am wondering how to best maintain them.

Kassandra Almanzar-Badgett: I love when you use like alternative music, I feel like that's the real Tasha, love the blonde on you btw, it's gorgeous! (:

Hair Chat: Hey this is a great video Props for doing it in the mirror !

Annelle: Make sure you take out the hair that didn't stick to the tape because that will cause damage also move a little father away from hair like on the sides

Ella Stevens: hi, I was just wondering if you were still using tape in hair extensions? and if so, are you still using Zala?

lovinevie: How long do they last ?

Lauren Thompson: Loving the hair girl

Rebeca Diaz: Your hair color . Did you color your own hair blonde? I can see your hair is growing fast. It looks longer than the last time I saw it.

abbielovesoasis: Did you tone these extensions or this the exact colour? I'm struggling to find extensions that match and these look perfect x

pixelscanon: How the HECK did you get the middle-back of your head? That is some talent! I have been wearing Tape-Ins for 3 years, I am frightened to put them in myself, I feel like I might rip all my hair out.

callmepunkee: How long do they last?

mah-jiilah hayes: Did you use the 124g 40 piece set or the 180g 60 piece set?:)

Christina LeClaire: OMG--so perfect <3 #queen

Jinny V: Hello Tasha, can you please tell me how can you remove them and once they're out can you reuse them or you have to buy some new ones? Thank you :)

RobinOrzo: How long do they typical last? Can you wash them? I don't see a lot on tape in hair extensions, this is super interesting!!

Lizzie Denten: Love your channel How many days till the hair extensions got to you?

Miss Blake: are the extensions heavy? meaning do they pull on the hair easily? I've had those problems before, and I've lost hair because of it, so it would be helpful to know the weight before getting them.

lacy Khan: How long do they last ??

Alexa Sunshine83: Since you've had them for awhile, how have they held up with like washing and conditioning ? Like has it affected the quality of the hair extensions?

Angeles Gomez: Tu pelo es bonito y además tapa tus rollitos

Georgia B: How long do they last and how would you take them out?

Dominique Gomez: How did you keep them from matting? I got them and I'm getting so much mattage :(

⭐️Cat_Freak⭐️: was wondering if the colour/dye made it through the tape. or could you see the lighter colour or the tape/blone

Anum Latif: how long do they stick in the hair for? do they come out in the shower or if you tug on them?

Andrea Jeffcoat: how often do you wash your hair with them and do these come loose easy?

Amber Steele: How did you get your hair so blonde at the start of this video could you do a video on how you removed the pink to get his colour blonde ? Xx

Anne Sofie Maagaard Rohde: it looks so amazing! but who do you get it off?

Nicole Marie: Your hair is beautiful!

Lillian Kinder: Just got my zala tape ins in the mail so this came just in time yaaas

Katie Johnson: Zala does have HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered from them twice. First time i ordered extensions i got them within a couple of days which is great considering i live in the states. 2nd time it took a month! Customer service kept giving me crap excuses. Saying that Friday isn't a business day & what not. As far as the hair itself. I think the extensions are gorgeous when you first get them. But after like 4 months they are complete crap. Which is sad when you spend hundreds of dollars on a product.

Megan: Hey, Tasha! I really hope you see this cause I need some serious help! (or if anyone else in the comments can answer, PLEASE answer!) I dyed my hair blue and now I want to go a natural shade of gingery red. I always dye my hair crazy colors and I've never had a problem with it fading back to my normal blonde but this blue WILL NOT come out. I bleached it for 30 minutes with 30 Vol and it barely did a thing. I did a color remover and nothing happened. It is currently a very icy light blue and I don't know what to do. I am not willing to bleach it again and I was wondering if you (or anyone) had suggestions? Like a product or a procedure? Thank you! <3

Alexa Sunshine83: YOUR HAIR IS GOALSSSS

daisie: You should do a video on how to take them out cause I'm extremely curious!! You're v pretty btw

Rhianon Annie McDowell: Just read the disclaimer, which brand would you now recommend?

Taylor’D Makeup: can you curl them/straighten them?

Catherine F: Can you do a video on how you bleach/tone your hair? You got it so white!

Shazza Rose: I didn't even realize these extensions were an Australian brand, which means free shipping for me if I want them! ^_^

dearbhlalala: What's the name of the song? And tasha your hair looks amazing as always x

Harlie Valdez: How long did it take you to put them in

Rain Alt Model: How long do those last and do they pull your hair out? Also how long can you keep them in? How do you take them out without damage and how long do they last. can you apply new tape to them after you take them out and wash them?

It'sMeCc: I use clip ins....do they pull on your hair at all? Also are they comfortable to sleep in?

Natalie Reclosado: How often can you wash them? Is there a washing routine necessary?

Jannik Lerch: How much gramms have the extensions ?

Jessica Baus: how long do they last?

Beauty ByBree: How do you reuse the tape ins? Do you just put them back in the same way? Im very interested in getting some because I always use clip ins! Also, are these extensions 100% human hair?

Kathryn Wilton: Hi how are you? I was just wondering are they easy to remove and do they do much damage to your natural hair. I'm asking because I've never used any before (you made it look so easy) and I have damaged hair any way due to over colouring it. I'm growing my hair out at the minute to get rid of the damage I've caused (i feel really stupid for doing it) then I'm going to have to have it cut quite short to get rid of the rest and I hate short hair on myself. Im currently under strict hairdresser orders not to use heat appliances too lol (nightmare my hair has a natural kink to it, that is why I'm asking as I don't want to ruin my new grown hair. I apologise for the long message xx

Ari Dawson: How do you take them out? Does it damage your natural hair at all?

Kam: i absolutely love them! but don't they pull your hair out or something??

AshLee Fiedler: I really want to get tape in extensions but how long to they stay in your hair?

Reginugh: How do you take them out? And can you wash them normally like in your head?

crowbrat1: what extensions would you say is the best? tapes ins? glue ins? clip ins? ect or does it depend on you?

Mikaylas World: I love Zala!

Erica Posadas: How many packs did you use ?

Paige Yas: Are this ones better then sew in extentions?

RageQueen OG: they look easy to put but what about when you wash your hair or you decide you wanna take them out ?

purple pandas: how long do they stay in and can you sleep in them
