Hello, hello, so you had your very first appointment and we just wanted to send this to you as a gentle reminder, because you are now wearing extensions, you may have been familiar with the extensions before this may be your first time wearing them either way we want. You guys to be able to protect your investment and to keep your hair as healthy as possible for as long as possible. So we just wanted to give you some quick tips and tricks so that you can keep your hair healthy as long as you possibly can. So with our hand-tied extensions that are custom colored to your hair and custom blended to your cut, they should be really easy to take care of. There are a few things that you want to do for sure, so one you want to brush your hair now. This seems silly, but you do want to get up to the top of the weft of your extensions, so that means taking your wet brush in through the very top up to the stitching. You do not have to be afraid of your extensions. You can touch them. You can move them, you can put them up um, so we do want to make sure that you are combing at least probably twice daily combing your extensions. This is super important because we don't want you to get madding. Your integrity of your hair is our main factor that we do not want it to get ruined right. You have extensions for a reason, but it's not to damage your hair in the long run. So that being said, you're combing it twice a day making sure to get up to the top of that weft. When you are cleaning your hair, you are shampooing and conditioning. We usually do suggest to use a conditioning mask at least once a week and when you do shampoo and condition your hair again, the hand-tied hair, the way we put it in it's a beaded track, and so it's not going to slip so like the tape ends Or like the eye, links or carelinks, where you can't get conditioner on them, you need to put conditioner towards the top of your wefts okay, because the extensions are probably drier than your natural hair. So you do want to condition them. That being said, and again, your rows are not all over your head, so you have room to wash and to comb. So what i do when i go into the shower is i'll. Get shampoo on my hand, sets it up a little bit put it on. You want to make sure you're kind of sandwiching your extensions you want to get under here when you shampoo, and you want to get above it when you shampoo. Basically you are shampooing your entire scalp all right. So that's super important and then what you're going to do is take conditioner. If you don't know - and this may be super basic or repetitive - for you, you're going to take conditioner in your hand. Again, i like to distribute the product i like to pull my hair part it in the back, pull it all front. I start with my conditioner on one side at the bottom other side and i'm working it up to the top of my head. Whatever is left, i am pulling through on my hair and then i will take my handy dandy wet brush. Let me show you what it looks like really quick and i'm going to comb my conditioner throughout the extensions. This is going to ensure that your extensions stay. Soft and shiny and healthy and smooth okay and then you're, going to rinse the product out and don't worry because the extensions actually suck up a lot of oil and grease that we naturally produce because they don't have any lifeline of their own. Like your scalp. So you may think you're putting too much conditioner on, but trust me, your hair needs it, and then we do always suggest that you, when you towel dry, your hair, you leave, you use, excuse me a leave-in, conditioner and a oil. So these things are important again, because the extensions are a little bit more typically dry than your natural hair. You do want to make sure you put an oil in them again, starting at the bottom working your way up. If you don't want it to get on your natural hair, i would suggest picking up your natural hair clipping it away. Yeah so you're clipping it away, and then you are feeding these extensions, even if it's just the extensions with oil um and then you're gon na be set to go so you can blow dry from there. You can straighten um, you can curl, you can wave. You can braid whatever you decide to do. You are good after those four steps just wanted to give you a little video tutorial on how to take the best care of your extensions and then, last but not least, there are a few no-no's with extensions okay. So first no-no and although it's not summer, people still do use sunscreen. So we do need to say this. You cannot get sunscreen on your blonde extensions or for that matter, on your brunette extensions. There is an ingredient in sunscreen that will actually turn your extensions. A peachy light color and i will say, we're working on it, but we have not yet found a way to get rid of that and fix them. So if you do get sunscreen on your extensions, unfortunately you're going to need new hair, it's not an attractive color. It'S very odd and it again it cannot be colored out, so we just want to let you know of that. Another no-no with your extensions is going to be. You do not want to use um any oils with like a lot of silicone, so no um moroccan oil oil. So we do obviously recommend that you go home with the products that we recommend and we do make little packages for you guys to easily purchase and we kind of custom it to customize it to your hair and your hair's needs. But that being said, if you did not get them, we just do like to preface it with that and then last but not least guys. If anything is going on or you have any questions. No question is too small. We are always here for you. You should reach out to your stylist if you reach out to your stylist and they don't answer, please reach out to one of our owners, and that would be myself for nicole and we will be here to help you through. Whatever your question is: okay thanks. So much i hope, you're absolutely loving your extension hair and cannot wait to see you back for your very next appointment. Thanks

Kathryn Wittmeier: Very helpful! I am getting my first hand tied extensions In a few weeks! Can you please comment on why silicone is bad for the extensions? And also do you have any tips for curling and blending the extensions with natural hair? Thank you so much!

JazzyFizzil: What oil and leave conditioner would you recommend? Y hairstylist said before I go swimming to use a leave in conditioner before getting wet. I’ve never used leave in conditioner so what should I look for? I only use olaplex products and chi heat protectant other than that I don’t really bother with stuff.
