Aqua Hair Extensions: My Honest Experience

I absolutely loved my extensions for the 7 months I had them! In my opinion, they are worth the investment!

Thank you for watching! xo

Hey everybody welcome back to my channel. I'Ve made a Maria, and today I'm going to talk about aqua, hair extensions. I'M essentially going to give it a review, I'm going to talk about the price of them, the care and maintenance that goes along with having them and then any pros and cons that I found with having them so jumping right into it off the bat. I just have to say that they are a really great quality, hair extension, but what is going to be the make-or-break for most people is the price so how it worked for me is. I went through my hairdresser and I purchased the 22 inch extensions and because my hair was so thick, I actually had to get six packs of the extensions they come in packs in each pack. Has ten pieces of hair I'll show you guys kind of what they look like um, so you can get an idea, so, for instance, this is an extension. This is the piece that sticks to your hair and then this is essentially how long it is, and in each pack there is ten pieces just like that and, like I said, I have again six packs. The average is only four to five. The reason I needed to get six packs was because I needed to match the thickness of my hair. If I only got four packs that would only be 40 pieces, so I'd be really thick on top and then it would get thinner. As I went down the length of my hair, this is really important because obviously you want it to look as natural as possible. So if the thickness didn't match, then it just wouldn't look natural and it wouldn't blend is easy, so the initial cost to purchase the extensions alone was 662 yep. Six hundred and sixty two dollars just for the extensions alone and, like I said before, that really could be in break for some people if it just doesn't fit into your budget. I do want to mention that these extensions are supposed to last six months. I'Ve had mine since November 2019, so I'm coming up on the seventh month mark. So if you really care for them and you maintain them really well, they will last now over the course of that six month period, every six to eight weeks. You need to get them taken out cleaned and then they put new adhesives and new fresh glue and then reattach it to the root of your hair, because just as your hair is growing, they're gon na grow with them and they're. Just gon na become loose and they'll fall out, so every six to eight weeks you get them reinstalled, the initial installation for me cost 150 and then the installation after that, which includes the removal, the cleaning and then the reinstallation. Those were 175, and that is not including tips so make sure you tip your hairdresser and that will just add a cost to it as well. One of the biggest recommendations I have for doing extensions is doing your natural hair color. When you do your natural hair color, you don't also have the additional cost of coloring, and that makes sense right, because if I had done blonde hair, that's not my natural hair color. I would also have to get my roots. You know highlighted every time I went in and I would have just added an additional cost. So that's one of my biggest recommendations so adding it all together. I have 662 from the initial purchase of the extensions 150 for the initial installation and then 175 about three times: that's usually the average and then, when you add that all together you get about 1337 again, not including tip, but essentially that's what it cost me over. The course of 7 months, so one of the most important things is that you have to use this whole free, free, sulfate, sulfate, free, shampoo and conditioner. It'S something about the sulfates that messes with the adhesive and the glue that makes the extensions loose, and then they fall out a lot sooner than six or eight weeks. Another thing I recommend, having is a detangler that also has to be sulfate free. I think it was just really helpful because then you're not tugging on these sentences. If there's like a huge knot there, you can essentially just put it through smoothly. The constant tugging obviously would loosen the extension and wouldn't loosen it that much, but you just got ta, be aware of that and just be a little careful speaking of brushing, I used a wet brush. I can't remember what the name of it is it's by the brand wet brush, but it's not your typical wet brush, it has bristles on it and it just allows you to be a little more gentle when you're brushing your hair, another care and maintenance thing. I would recommend, is braiding it before you go to bed every night. You could do two braids or you can do one braid. I did one braid majority at the time, and not only does it keep down Maddie and Tang clean, but you also can just wake up and have really nice ways. I really didn't have to style my hair, all that often, which is especially nice when you have a toddler running around. Sometimes you don't always have you know an hour to do your hair or even 30 minutes. So it was really nice to just take the braids out brush it out, and then I was good to go so now into some pros and cons that I found is happiness I would say a con for most people is the price they are expensive, but, like I said they are a really really high-quality hair extension. A couple other cons is that they are hot and they're heavy. I actually got them during winter time, so it wasn't that bad, but now as we're getting into summer, I'm definitely noticing how hot they are, and another con is that I really can't put them up in a high ponytail. So I can't really get the hair off of my neck. The reason I can't put it in a high ponytail - it's just they're, just they just pull. I can't really put them in a high bun either. So they're, really majority of the time they're down or in a low ponytail and just something to be aware of, is that it might hurt a little bit after the initial installation or even a couple of the reed installations after that. So the first time I remember taking ibuprofen but the times after that I just remember falling asleep and waking up the next morning and my scalp had adjusted to the extensions so now into some probes. Most extensions are at least from what I've experienced are just like one piece: they hook on and there's just a long piece and they have hair attached to them. These are individual pieces, so you really can put them into places that you need to. It will blend super super super. Well, that's another Pro! You can treat this hair like your normal hair. I had no issues washing it. I had no issues curling it. I had no issues of straightening it. It'S really active, just like my normal hair and another pro is that they are sturdy. I know a couple times I mentioned during this video that you know they can become loose and they can fall out. Obviously, there's always the potential for that, but they really are sturdy if they're getting loose and coming out within two or three weeks of installation, it's probably because you're not using right or you're just doing something wrong or not taking care of them properly. I have heard stories where the extension got pulled out and she had a bald spot. So I really think that speaks to how strong the adhesive is. So with that I'm not gon na tell you guys whether you should get them or not. It'S obviously gon na be whether or not it fits into your budget. So these are just the facts of what it cost me. So not only are you paying for the installation and purchasing the extensions, but keep in mind the shampoo, the conditioner, which I really only used one bottle of conditioner the whole entire seven-month period. However, I use two shampoos. It just is a lot of hair. I really enjoyed them over the seven month period and they're, just a really good product. So if you're thinking about doing a hair extension, I definitely would consider aqua, hair extensions, but now coming into summer, I'm definitely excited to take them out and cut my hair and just kind of move on and maybe I'll try it again in a couple of years. But I'm definitely excited for a little break from them. So that's pretty much it. I am so thankful for you guys for watching and please like and subscribe, and I will see you bye.
