As always, my opinion is always MY honest opinion.

Hi and welcome everyone, i'm monica and if you're new to this channel well hello and welcome today's video. I'M going to talk about my experience with extensions um, why i decided to take them out and how i did it in lockdown and the after effect. And basically my thoughts around it so grab yourself something to drink and and smash the like button. If you like that sort of content and subscribe to my channel, that makes my heart really really warm. To give you a little background about my head, they were not always thin at the age of 18 19. I lost weight like a lot uh in a very short period of time. So at this time, when you're 18, 19 you're still growing, you're developing your hormones are all over the place and i have no idea about nutrition and i lost basically, i lost the weight really unhealthy way, um and that had an impact on my hair and nails Because these are the first, basically the weakest part of your body, that when your body is in starvation mode, your body just gives what the easiest, like your body, will protect organs and your insights and your brain and everything like that hair nails. Basically, your body decides to just give away for food, so i lost a hair at that time. It wasn't that bad really and um. I never restored, however hard i tried. I never came back to the original um hair count. If i can say in that way, i've been to loads of dermatologists trichologists, because with time when you try different shampoos, serums, all sorts of vitamins etc, and i invested loads of money and time into that, and i could see no progress either. I came to uk and i started to look for job. I had to settle myself in new country, and that was stressful, and when i look back at the pictures, i can really see how much it affected my hair health, the stress in particular, and at the age of 27, i have two silver hairs. I noticed at that time, which was quite concerning um, so the main area at some point i just started to rolling with it. If, if you're a woman, you will understand how much it can affect your mindset when you kind of choose the hair style, you want, because you're gon na be afraid. Your hair's gon na look thin the worst case when you want to go out and it's windy and your hair is going to be all over the place and you put time and effort to make them look more volumous, etc or when it's wet. It doesn't look like you have much on your head. There'S it's a huge mindset and then huge part of myself were so insecure about it. That was a fast. That was the thing that i was thinking every single day like does my hair look good or or they look really thin. You know, and oh that was such a big part of my life just being concerned and worried about it. I that was just like vicious circle, and it took me a while to get through that to kind of accept it. It'S like monica okay, it is what it is. You tried um, maybe it's just you know time to stop and accept it, and i'm not quite there yet, but i'm a much different position that i wear three years ago, for example. So i'm quite proud of myself of that i decided to treat myself on an extension, so i went to the local um facility and i asked for expertise, and that was quite an investment on its own and i got my hair extended and a whole vlog about The experience, so you can check this. If you haven't seen, i will link it down below. I was really happy. I can't i could you know that was such a nice day. It just feels so good like such a confident boss. I can't even describe how good it made me feel. Hair maintenance took me like two hours when you wash them and try to dry them out and then stylize them, but i was so happy. You know i was so happy to spend so much time in just stylizing my hair and wow. That was that was quite a nice experience to pull them up when we went to dubai after eight or two eight to twelve weeks. You need to take the extensions out and put it back up again, but just closer to the scalp, because the longer they get the harder they are um in terms of maintenance and they more weight they put on their hair actually referred to the weight example. If you're holding the plate and you're holding close to the body, it kind of it's not as heavy as if you take a plate away from your body and hold it, it's gon na feel much heavier. The same happens with the extension, so i got them put up and um. I was quite in shock in dubai when i had when i saw my natural hair back, they were really thin when, when i touched them there was not many like many of them. In my hands, if that makes sense, but you know i was like yeah let's, let's just do it, you know like i like how i look with them um, and this makes me happy so why i decided to take them down. First and foremost, i started to get closer to that time frame when i have to be pulled up again. Everything is closed. So there's no way of me doing so main reason. However, it was just to give my hair rest, restore them, and - and just because i i'm not going anywhere, you know it's locked down. There'S it's just pointless, so i wanted to give them a rest, because i noticed um they were, and i was actually quite excited because when you wash the hair with extensions in it, you need to be very careful around your scalp. You can't could just go all in and just you know clean your scalp as perfectly as would you do with no extensions in it, so i was so happy to just having that first wash when i can go around my head and just you know, brush down. So the process on itself is quite simple. I gave a little bit of research and checked some youtube videos. I got myself um the pliers and they are specifically for hair extensions, like micro rings ahead, because they're um, the front part, is a thicker. You know squeeze the ring and bring the extensions out. It'S like heavy duty and hairdresser clips, and obviously i can't that's how it looks. Oh that length i already missed it and i had three weaves at the back, so the one at the top was the widest and then you have middle and lower part. That was yeah quite a big amount of hair. Isn'T it how many hairs are falling out? You'Re not happy about it, but you're moving forward, and here you can see sean's taking the weaves out and there was they were actually easier than i expected to take the weaves down. So sean just relaxed the micro rings that the weave was sitting on and then just slowly pull that up and again brush it out. So the process itself took like an hour and 20 minutes like my job on the front and with sean's help and and when i brushed everything out um there was loads of hair on the table. Wow look at that. You know that can be, though old, hair as well. That'S old hair. That'S not able to fall out yeah. They were stuck in between the rings yeah, so you've probably got. It will look like a lot when you're doing it now, but we all have hair that not me, but you you're gon na have hair that's going to fall out much hair on my brush, it's easier in a salon because it just comes down and you don't See it kind of ready for that, then i washed my hair again. Hair fell out during the wash because i went quite into my scalp because it started to get itchy. To be honest, so not good, so that was the process. Um quite easy, as you um saw and then an aftercare. I got myself a set of vitamins um to strengthen the hair and the main is of course biotin. Then you have magnesium and b6 vitamin c. The iron and zinc invested a little bit. So these are um, shampoo and conditioner. I'M going to use kerosene. I thought it's kerostain, but obviously it's not it's a french brand, please with my hair. Now they i'm they look. They look weaker than they did before, putting exceptions in, but that's just a part of the process of restoring the hair. Health really hope if you do feel insecure about your hair. Specifically, i just do want you to let you know you're not alone, and accepting your hair is a process for each single individual. That'S going to be different, i'm here for you. If you want to share your thoughts or ask about supplements or shampoos conditioners, i've been there. I went through that path and i finally can say: i'm i'm not thinking about my hair every day, i'm just living my life. So if that video helped you in any way, i'm i'm glad and i'm gon na see you in the next one and up until then take care, stay, safe and just love your hair, because it doesn't matter how they look. It'S how you think about them and how you feel about them, how you present yourself with them: okay, bye! So i'm gon na i'm gon na, take the band out just to show you how they look on the front on the. So these are how they look. After wash and and slightly curl, so it gives them more um density, they look more volumous, but they are very, very thin. Like look at that, that's really thin. I was thinking like shaving, my head, you know, but i was like no that's gon na be too cold and i quite like it like. Let me know what you think:

clipinqueen: Thank you for sharing your hair journey. I totally understand your emotions towards your hair loss and thinning. I just want to make note that hair extensions don't HAVE to lead to hair breakage. In fact, I was able to grow my bleached blonde hair OUT and longer with tape in hair extensions. It is just important to take care of the extensions and natural hair while you have extensions in and also not to yank them out! LOL
